Hey Hoagie Pie: I lived in Phoenix 2001 - 2003 and lived in Grayhawk for the first year. They were still adding stores and restaurants at Desert Ridge at the time. The second year I lived in Higley/Gilbert off Power Road. I worked was an L&D RN at Banner Desert Samaritan.

Loved Phoenix, but getting a little too built up. In Grayhawk they have added lots of stuff - loved Nicks! I do miss Desert Ridge because I didn't have far to go for all my shopping. Our Joann's in Lakeland is VERY small.

Ohhhh....just remembered how good the restaurant was at the golf course at Grayhawk. I have company this weekend, so thanks for reminding me. It's a bright clear day here, lunch on the patio overlooking the golf course would be great!

My (ex) sister-in-law is visiting little sister Peg and I for a long weekend. She did a 3 day DCL cruise with us last December and when we were telliing her about this cruise last night....well, she's ready to sign up! As we all know, great value for your cruising dollar on a repositioning cruise.

That does sound nice considering I am still bundled up in Florida - ha ha! Did you ever go to the Painted Horse in Troon for Dinner or El Chorro off of Lincoln - that is beautiful, but a little pricey. Hopefully she will sign up for the cruise and join in the fun! Go to Joann's - I am going today and have to drive for 30 minutes to get to the big one but that is okay, I also drive 30 minutes to get to WDW so I should not be complaining!!!!!

Oh, I haven't been to El Chorro in years! Never been to the Painted Horse.

We may do Sunday brunch at Casino Arizona, a nice champagne brunch for about $18. Haven't been there yet, but it comes highly recommended by a few friends...gets a good 'value for the price' rating from them.

Just notice little sister is on the DIS....wonder if she'll be stopping by.

Not a big fan of looting and pillaging, me'self, but I think y'all do a mighty fine job of having fun with the dress up. I am impressed by everyone's creative abilitites. Just don't do any pirate damage to me other than keel-haulin' and plank walkin', please

I really like the rotating three-cruise logo - that is a right fun touch. (Mixing in Southern speak to go with the pirate lingo...)



I lived for two years in Arizona - know exactly what you're talking about. Took a trip to Vegas one December, everyone else was walking around in shirt sleeves, and I was layered in a turtleneck, wool sweater, coat and gloves. Now I'm back in Alabama, where I complain about the heat (it's not a dry heat, that's for sure).

Having just finished a DIS-filled cruise, I know it's the friendliness and comraderie of fellow cruisers that really take the voyage up a notch, it must be exciting to have a continuity with your theme. I'll join in to the fun as a representative of the peaceful landlubbers who you will one day learn to love

Planning my Elizabeth Swan dress (pre-pirate) even now .

Still have about 100 pages (in the middle of the thread) to read before I am caught up.

Aboard Mate , you have plenty of time between now and when we set sail to get in the Pirate spirit ...LOL and to start things off how about you be adding the cruise banner logo to you signature line , that might help the mood If you dont , you just might be walkin the Plank And as I see above you have already started to think ahead by doing Mrs Swann's dress (It should be a Dress or nothing , I happen to have an Ole dress in my Cabin ) ...lol

and welcome. Most of the stuff I think is onsite the web (link in post 1). Also if you need a fish extended let me know as I am currently in the process of making one and am happy to make them for us if needed. All you need to do is pay for the materials and postage and I'm happy with that.

Anyway if you have questions this is the place to ask it as we seem to have a very knowledgable lot on here.

Sorry for my absence. Things have been a little crazy around here!

Brooklyn booked a great job in LA. She worked yesterday and next Tuesday on a new show that will be on ABC in 2009! She was treated like a princess yesterday, wardrobe, hair and make up....What more could a girl ask for!

I will be updating the website this weekend.

Please if I missed anything in old posts let me know. Last time I was on was about 10 pages ago and I know even if I went back and tried I will probably have missed something.

If there is anything that you want on the website or some info I missed please let me know.

DH is driving home right now and he will be home for 10 days! It is sad that we are so excited about having him for 10 days! Can't wait till Sept when we will live together again.

Steph, give Brooklyn our congrats! That's fabulous. I guess we'll be traveling w/a real celebrity in our midst .

I'm happy for you that DH will be home soon; we had a 6-month period where we had to be in different states (I had 3 girls in school at the time) and I know how hard that is. But I can't even begin to imagine what our troups overseas and their families have to endure. Prayers and pixie dust for everyone, especially during the holidays.
