Missoula is not a very populated area....all of Montana is not very populated, less than 1 million people in the entire state. So, I looked at the roll call tonight, all of it, and it seems Judy's (Jsails) sailing BFF is from Missoula, Montana!!! :dance3: Amazing that 2 of us from here are sailing....Small World! We will have to be sure to meet her. :grouphug: I think they have already left for Rome.

So here it is the second time in two weeks, we have helicopters flying overhead!!! it is dark outside but they still have searchlights!!! We closed and locked everything up but I know I will probably end up staying up!!!! Naturally we won't hear what was going on until tomorrow morning!!!

Not again! You don't live near Philly, do you? I know there was a shooting at a Kraft plant tonight so maybe it had something to do with that if you live in the area? :confused3 That is scary though...

So, I didn't give myself the injection of the medicine this morning and I felt SOOOOO much better! I was myself again...not the sick self that I've been for the last 2 weeks. When we return from the trip, I'm going to call the doctor to discuss other options, but for now I'm happy to not feel sick to my stomach all of the time.

Lynne, I feel your pain...

I can't believe next week at this time we'll be almost in Spain! It's exciting but I'm very scared for the flight. I hate flying so I'm freaking out a little...

Tomorrow I'm getting the candy for the candy swap and going to AAA to look at PacSafe's...not sure if I'm going to get anything yet. I'm also going to start picking out clothing (that is my sister's) to take with me. That's one of the good things about being a twin - we both have double the wardrobe! :lmao:

Well, off to bed...another busy day tomorrow!

SAN BRUNO, CA (KGO) -- Mulitple homes are on fire after a large explosion in the area near highways 280 and 380, Skyline Boulevard and Sneath Lane in San Bruno.

A large fireball up to 50 feet in the air continues to burn out of control in the Crestmoor Two area. Fire crews are attacking the fires from the air and ground. As many as 35-45 homes are on fire or have burned.

Photos

It is believed that a 24-inch PG&E high-pressure gas line is the source of the explosion and fire.

The Office of Emegency Services is giving the central location of the incident as Clairmont and Glenview drives. The San Mateo County Sheriff has activated the reverse-911 system to alert people in a three-quarter mile radius of a voluntary evacuation.
People as far as one-half mile away say they felt the boom and heat of the explosion.

An evacuation center has been set up at the San Bruno Veterans Memorial Recreation Center at 251 City Park Way. Residents are also gathering at Tanforan shopping center.

Northbound and southbound I-280 exits at San Bruno Avenue are closed at this time. In addition, Skyline Boulevard, Sneath Lane and San Bruno Avenue are closed. Drivers are asked to avoid the area if possible.

At least 5,000 PG&E customers are without power.

SFO has told pilots to switch to instruments due to poor visability.

The Red Cross is heading to the scene to provide aid to residents.

Mills Peninsula Hospital is treating five patients with minor injuries in their emergency room. San Francisco General Hospital has one person in critical condition. Kaiser in South San Francisco is treating 15 patients. Other Bay Area hospitals are taking patients as well.

The FAA says it was not a plane. SFO spokesperson Mike McCarron says no plane from SFO is involved.

Did he get the new ResMed one? I want that one.
Bob just got the new ResMed S9 and the ClimateLine. This special tubing is heated preventing condensation from forming inside the tube. We also ordered the dishwasher safe water chamber that can be opened. He is pleased with this new equiptment but is bringing his smaller older machine on the trip. val

I just watched the Magic port in Malta,,,,,what an awesome sight!!!!!

Okay, I am getting teary eyed!!!

Not again! You don't live near Philly, do you? I know there was a shooting at a Kraft plant tonight so maybe it had something to do with that if you live in the area? :confused3 That is scary though...

No, I live just 10 miles from Lancaster. There was nothing on the news.

This puts things in perspective as to why we are a little nervous :scared1:

Holy Cow Paula!:scared1:
So glad you are all safe.

Annie:hug:

Yaoooeee . . .that is so amazing. A real testimony to quality building standards. Sure is worth the cost now. Especially the cost in human life. No waves for you, Paula . . .

I don't think there will ever be complaints about our building code again. Most of the approximately 3000 homes that are now uninhabitable are built in areas where they were subject to liquefaction and experts had recommended that no homes be built there. The council ignored their advise - they will listen next time I hope.

I have one friend who had an initial estimate today that his home will cost $100k to repair. Thank goodness for insurance!

Thats very scary, my thoughts are with those battling this blaze and those who are directly impacted by it - its heartbreaking!

What is the link to see it?

Today was my last day of work before our trip - 3 sleeps to go!

I cannot even begin to imagine going thru so many aftershocks.

I used the site of Earth Cam and typed in the name of Malta so I hope I can follow it the next few days coming into the other ports. It refreshes a lot so you might not get the Magic the first try

Swaping of dates between Beer and Mojito are confirmed! Still waiting on swap of one martini with mixology. Should have tomorrow. Sorry that this is now a conflict for the class!!

Sue ..... what date and time will the beer tasting now be held ..... I can't find the original list to swap it with Mojito. Thanks so much for all your blood, sweat and tears on this one .. well above the call of duty :hug:

This puts things in perspective as to why we are a little nervous :scared1:

Crikey Paula .... how you have coped with this in such good spirits amazes me ... I would be a complete wreck. I hope all the activity starts to settle down for you now ... you will be so ready for a break from all the shaking.

Isn't that just typical .... two of the many things I really feel anxious about are flying and thunderstorms, and combining the two just isn't good. We land on the 16th .... so I will be a wreck. We could do without rain and thunder on the 18th too please, we have a sailaway party to go to :yay::yay:

Wasn't the new Obama medical plan supposed to eliminate problems like this?

:lmao::lmao::rotfl::rotfl2:

Close but no cigar:rotfl:
My insurance went up $50.00 per month starting in October.:sad2:

So far this week I got tons of goodies done:
Finished up my dental work
Flu shot
Hair cut and colored(highlighted)
Euros bought
Vision RX copies
Hotel Ressies in Las Vegas for the 15th
Howard decited to get his tux and some casual pants and shirts(other then work polos).

To be done:
Pack and repack
Test out again underwater camera
Week end "camp over" with only 4 grandkids , oldest 14 and youngest 5.
Disney Marathon!:yay:
Nails on Tuesday
"Camp Over" goodies for my dog. Get him a new leash, he tore up the old one the other night... did I mention I have a Jack Russell Holy Terror!

I hope that this is all... Im getting a brain cramp!

Lynne.. Hope you're feeling better Real soon!

Annie:laundy:

Paula. I promise not to slam any doors. I hope no servers drop their large trays of dishes in the dining rooms, and we will ask DCL NOT to sound the horn!!!;):rotfl2:

I really am sorry you are living through this. I can't imagine it at all. Roll on the holiday!!!

We will be sitting upright, but he still stops breathing when he sleeps sitting up.

We will bring VitD and zinc with us and keep up our doses of that.

That means less sleep for you too Angie.

We take Zinc too before during and after a vacation.:thumbsup2

Well, she's getting better today! YEAH! She slept great last night. Although, I didn't sleep as well. Since DH was gone I had her sleep in my bed so that I could listen to her breathe. I kept waking up to check on her and then of course have little feet in my back. DH is landing now. So, we are on the mend!! DS has no signs of getting this. It will truly be a miracle if he doesn't get this since they play (or fight) nonstop together in the house the last few days.

I decided not to send her to preschool next week. Since we start waking up an hour early each morning beginning tomorrow and I don't want her to catch anything else.

Thanks again for all your prayers and pixie dust!! Sure can't wait to meet everyone! I begin packing this weekend. We'll see how it goes!!

So pleased she is beginning to improve. Hopefully by now she won't be infectious to her brother.

Yes, Kaylee is a naturopath. However, we are in economy and there is no power per seatguru, so without that battery pac it is a mute point. :sad2: We did not know there was no battery pac until it was delivered this morning. The local company that provides them for the VA showed Dennis the order he got and it did not include a battery. :upsidedow

That is a real pain. Shame you can't get a battery pack as an add on!

Swaping of dates between Beer and Mojito are confirmed! Still waiting on swap of one martini with mixology. Should have tomorrow. Sorry that this is now a conflict for the class!!

Thanks for letting me know. I better get to work trying to get this shifted. I just hope that I can get this organized in time for the 11 Eastern cut off. It would not be a problem to make alternative arrangements for Noel and Joanne if it came to it as I have a little overflow group anyway on the morning of September 21st that they could join, but I really want to do the Mojito tasting and don't want to cancel this unless I absolutely have to. On the other hand, I don't want to pay for a tasting that I cannot attend.

I am having a bit of an unfortunate start to the weekend. I managed to chip a tooth at dinner yesterday and woke up in the middle of the night with the most horrendous tooth ache. So in about 15 minutes, I have to ring my dentist to see if they can see me today. This is a complete pain as today is my last day off before the vacation and I have lots to do. I am hoping that I still will have time to go into town as I need a few last minute things for the cruise and then I have a Hot Stone Massage booked at a local spa at 6:15 PM.

Right, I better get going if I am even going to have a chance to get everything done.

Corinna

ok, making progredd on the to do list for the cruise... Not so sure about hte house cleaning. Wish that I could claim an earthquake but without all the drama and destruction!

I did manage to get our survival kits for the drive home on the 2nd ordered from Shirley at Perfect Gift. She is a gem!! I also printed every doc I could find and have them in seperate envelopes.

I got 12 pounds of dry macaroni cooked for mac and cheese for our fund raiser, and managed to bake 60 brownies... Was aiming for 75, but since the kids were salivating over stuff I ws taking to the office I decided to bake cookies for my kids instead of another double batch of brownies. Hope that 15 brownies doesn't make us miss our goal!!

I have just one issue now - I printed up a TON of magnets and now I can't find them... Guess what I will be doing tomorrow after work? yep, tearing up the house trying to find them all!!

Nighty night all!!
Night night, hope you find the magnets.
I can just see it now a small group of shifty Disers attempting to scalp tickets outside of guest services, lol
Just say, "sorry for the mess, there was an earthquake" - you don't have to say it wasn't anywhere near you :rotfl2:

Colleague just moved a heavy box and dropped it with a rather heavy bang - we all jumped. For goodness sake, please don't slam your stateroom doors when we are around or we may not have enough mentionables to last the cruise :lmao:
Paula, I just cant imagine what you guys are going through, we shouldnt complain about scotland really should we.
We get buzzed almost daily by the Navy flying training missions down the creek (or small river) in back of our house. It can be any hour day or night and they often come VERY low to the house . . .

It's a small price to pay for the freedom we have. Figure they have to practice somewhere :)
Dont let len read this, he LOVES fighter jets, we go places on hols where there are raf bases just incase they are out and about.he will want to come stay with you.

:lmao:

Well, off to bed...another busy day tomorrow!
wish you could fell better.

Hope you get your tooth fixed, my dad knocked out a cap in fl one year, I forgot about it till you said, he loooked so daft in all the pics bless him.

Any ideas of times folks?
are the tastings an hour.

Gizmo, have you updtaed the navigator with the tastings?

Oh and thanks again for all the well wishes, they must have worked cause Im a bit better today, work was a real trial last night, we had a client that was a bit eh,,,,,,,, difficult, actually he was so bad it was almost funny, some folks realy do come in looking for an argument at every turn, :confused3
Oh man, it is the only good thing about getting old, you can deal with things better and calmer than 10 years ago thats for sure.
He had an accent from another european country, :rotfl2: wish I could get it down how bad/funny it was but I just couldnt do it justice, in the end he said as he left, being sarcastic " well thankyou very much " and I said
" no sir, thankyou you very much and a good night to you":thumbsup2

I cant wait to hear what the day shift make of him.

By the way , the cats fine, even though it did not get an mri scan for its sore tail like the owner demanded. (we dont have an mri scanner by the way,and if we did he had no money, all it needed was a pain killer shot but he had been watching too many er tv programes I think)

Other funny thing was I asked for a contact number, he said.......
"well the telephone folks are as bad as you(me) and gave me beep beep service, when i told them they put the phone down on me and seem to have cut my phone of so I have no phone":rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:
NO....really?:rotfl2:
Ps , lovely big smelly entire tom cat, day shift will be loving the aroma;)

I really think we are all probably suffering with PTS to a greater or lesser extent. We are trying very hard to keep upbeat and not let it get us down.

On the bright side, the aftershocks are no where near so frequent but they are still pretty strong.

Mum went to England on Monday and in her emails she said she's still having heart failure every time there is a sudden loud noise. Its going to take a while for us all to get over this. I know all schools in the region are going to be doing counselling for the children when schools start back on Monday.

   I can't imagine how awful this must be for you guys..

Hey everyone, I am soooo behind. Terry's granny died on Sunday so I have had the in-laws staying and the funeral today. Will have the in-laws for a few more days and I am finding it impossible to find the time to get on.
Somebody please PM me if I have missed anything important.
:flower3:
OK, will try to catch up next week, I promise ;)
