For those of us who have requested to link late dining ... just to let you know that I have contacted my travel agent again to tell her about the changes and asked if she can move us to rotation 3. I am sure it is a real pain for her ... but what else can I do :confused3:confused3

I have asked this because a few of our diners wanted Lumieres for formal. Hope this is OK with you all. :goodvibes

:thumbsup2 Thanks for tryimg Sarah, we too were disappointed at the last minute change. Hope they can put it right for us. :goodvibes
Not long to go now, all this talk of pacling, must get in the loft and bring our cases down, Trish is keen to get started.
See you all in 10 days :cool1::cool1::cool1:

Well knowing how he normally is I was extremely surprised.

I know all about head in the sand and these strikes etc! Just need to get to Barcelona and then we should be ok. Unless DCL strike of course!!!:scared1::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

:rolleyes1:thumbsup2

Sorry all. Things have been manic here trying to keep up. I am trying to keep ahead of you on here and struggling! I will try and post more on the weekend when things might be a bit quieter.

No worries Sarah.......we'll all be seeing you very soon anyway!:dance3::dance3:

:littleangel:

The cookie dough ice cream is at castaway cay, lol.

Pj

Oh I love that. Shame they don't have it onboard, though I would fill up on it if they did!!!

We were one of "hog" family on our last cruise as our land concierge advised us not to book anything for any of the 8 of us (youngest DD was in a SPH room) until we boarded as they hold plenty of ressies for the concierge passengers.

It probably took a good hour for us to get all our ressies made and confirmed with the two concierge team members. We were one of the first on board into the concierge lounge so we didn't want to take up this time but it was unavoidable since we did not have any ressies when we boarded.

However, it seemed like to me all of the concierge staff was in the lounge helping people and no one was waiting. Since I had plans for a DIS party in the Walt, they were expecting to help us. We also needed to confirm our dates and details. Our concierge hosts were same two women who helped us when we boarded and were assigned to us during the whole trip.

We've sailed Concierge 3 times, but have always upgraded at the port and have had to go to the concierge reception to get everything adjusted or readjusted. Are you able to book any of the tastings in advance? Seems like it would save you some time if you could.

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:Thats poor Sue, trying to fix all us lot out:rotfl2::rotfl2: If I was paying for concierge I would be laying out my whole cruise plans as well:lmao: not goint to happen though.:worship:

Sorry. :flower3: Clearly, I sounded like a spoiled brat, but I think I've just confirmed my bad luck at the boarding reception. We've never not waited for a concierge, and only once did we have an actual concierge. We've usually had someone who was just taking care of the "overflow" in the lounge, who we never saw again after the embarkation meeting. It did always irk me a little, because once it was our turn, we have never needed more than 5 minutes. Maybe that is the NJ in me; everyone is in a hurry!

But I guess we don't really book the suite for the concierge. (Emails to concierge pre-boarding? Two. One to request our own table at dinner, and the second to say thank you.) We book the suite because we have his and her bathrooms at home, and we don't like sharing on the ship! We'll book any room with 2 full baths. :goodvibes

Just as well Marilyn....I'd spoil my good work withing days!:goodvibes

I really am going to have to take the comment back Lynne! I was just telling him the saga of the changing rotation and people not wanting Parrot Cay for formal night and he said 'I can understand that, it isn't quite right for formal night is it?' There you go. He has eventually picked up some ship knowledge from all the cruises.:lmao::lmao:

:dance3::dance3:

I haven't heard anything recently about the Spanish air traffic controllers strike so unless they nastily spring a surprise strike we should be ok!!:thumbsup2
Len says " as long as I get food" to be fair thats pretyy much what i think too,lol

Hi Mandy. I do "fat loss for idiots" when I need a boost, but it's an 11-day diet. I started on Monday to finish on Thursday, when we leave. Then I plan on doing it for about 8 months when we get back from the cruise, lol.

It works, and I like it because I don't have to think about what I'm eating. PM me if you want, and I can share a menu with you (you pick foods from a list).

Booooost!

Hey, you did SO well!!! Sometimes it pauses a little!!! You'll see next week all is fine!!! :thumbsup2

Thanks Steffi :)

HELP!!!!

In skimming over the last 10+ pages, I see the rotations have changed, some of the formal/casual dates have changed and now MMC night is changing.

Can anyone summarize what is happening? I don't have a clue at this point what rotation we are on, as Sarah was linking our ressies.

This is only a test. I went to bed with Noel's post and I just want to see if my computer is not updating or we are on a new thread.

Noel, if no one answered you, DCL changed the dining rotation and no one knows why. Something I think we knew since they never do a formal on a port day!

Thanks Sarah for trying to get the roto changed to 3.

What day are we wearing our Trans Pirate shirts? I would assume it would be boarding day but I could be wrong. Obviously tasting shirts to tastings until I spill a tasting on the shirt.

7 days from now, we are flying to BCN!!!! I can't believe it is almost here after 2 years of talking about it.

Amanda bought more clothes last night. OMG!!! We are going to have to check another bag!

Over the course of 10 DCL cruises, we have been in every restaurant on formal night, and to be honest....it made no difference to us. All seemed more formal for the night because the servers were all dressed as well. Being with the DIS friends is most important to us.:grouphug:

YEAH Angie - I agree!!!! This is terrible to say, but I never go because of the restaurant atmosphere! My least fave is Animator's Palate and my fave is Parrot Cay, which puts me in the minority I am sure.

I believe the plan is to wear the TA shirts to the DIS meet at 1500 on the first day.

Guys ... don't worry I have asked my wonderful TA Tracy to sort this out for us and move us to ROTATION 3 ..... she is on the case !!!

PS Remind me never to volunteer to do anything relating to linking dining again as long as I live and cruise :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Thank you for getting your TA on the case. She sounds like a gem!!

Rotation 2 is the rotation that I would like as well. DCL need some organized folks like those of us on this thread to get their cruise department up to snuff!!

Not so bad to volunteer, I didn't do too much work on the tours NOT!!

OK, it's FINALLY time to focus on getting ready and packing!

Back from Massachusetts where my son is now settled at college for his third year. He's in a really nice apartment-style dorm this year (kitchen, living room & 5 individual bedrooms) but that meant moving in even more stuff. But it was a BEAUTIFUL weekend in New England--cool and crystal clear. I really miss him already so it's great to have the cruise to concentrate on...

A couple of Qs:

--How easy is it to cancel or rearrange a Palo reservation? Do you have to run and do it first thing?

--I know the movies were posted a while ago. Anyone have an updated list? Is the Prince of Persia one of them?

--What's the largest table to which we could be assigned? (Thinking of bringing something for tablemates...)

We're fine with any rotation. It's food and friends that count! Thanks so much for organizing this; and please send all our thanks to your TA!

A week today we will be in the air, well bar, strikes, volcanoes, bla bla bla.

One week from today for us too! I'm praying for no bla, bla, bla...

Doing my single digit dance! *woohoo*

Can't wait to see that dance in person!

I kinda agree with you. I'm a Parrot Head so I love Parrot Cay and all things tropical. Animator's Palate never seems as interesting or colorful (pun intended) as the first time.

See you real soon,

Andrea

Moving their gear backwars and forwards is a bit of a palaver isn't it?:rolleyes1
