Definitely. The stops are well marked and most Spaniards in the service industry speak at least a little English. What hotel are you staying in? I could send along the metro info with stops and the train info with times and stops.

That's great! I sent you a PM that we are still staying at the W even though we could have got a great deal at the LeMerridien. Hopefully we will meet up with Steffy along the way.

Thanks everyone for the wahoos and everything , this Day has gotten even better as we have found out through the help of our State Senator Harry Reid , Helens son Seans immigration case has been expedited and the Embassy in Manila contacted me this evening to tell me Seans interview will be Sept 17th , which means he will finally be with us in Vegas 1 or 2 days after we get back from the cruise ..:banana: -

Today has been a great day and I thank all of you for the well wishes and thank God for watching over us , he has done some amazing things in my life and he never fails me when I need him most ....:littleangel:

Great News Captain! This just gets better and better!
another reason for a drink and a cuban!

Michael, I would appreciate some help with the RENFE commuter train schedule and cost. I have been trying to secure this information without success. We are going to Freixenet Winery from Barcelona is by using the train: from Barcelona Plaça Catalunya or Sants stations, to Sant Sadurní d'Anoia station. We are going on 9-16 and our reservation is at 10:00 so I figure we would need to get a train about 8:00. Thanks so much. val

You can take the 0905 train from Barcelona Plaça Catalunya that gets to the Sant Sadurní d'Anoia station at 0952 (if it's on time) or you could take the 0835 train that gets there at 0922. Freixenet is directly across from the train station, so you don't have to worry about extra time when you arrive. It's the Renfe train (tren), line (línea) R4, and will be marked as either Vilafranca del Penedés or Sant Vicenç de Calders.

I'm not sure about the price but I believe it's only about €3 each.

Well I'm just back from a very successful shop at Marks and Spencer sale!!!

Very successful indeed, I love those shopping days, when everything fits and is on sale!
I read further on you returned a skirt and bought it again for 13 pounds less, fantastic shopping! :thumbsup2

I am home. Thank you all for the good wishes. For now I am gonna try to take a nap, as I did not sleep well.

Glad your home in your own bed, I hope your feeling 100% again soon. ;)

Seems like everyone is so organized, packing, planning etc etc while I'm
DISorganized.

Anyway, 3 weeks from today, we'll be on our way to Barcelona. Can't wait to meet everyone.

Nope, not everyone is organised, a few panicked people floating around still! You've still got time, but not long, YAY!!!!
Meet you in a few weeks

We had to do the same for our Simba earlier this year and are very watchful of our Eeyore with his insulin.
I love your pets names, so cute! :cutie:

Okay if you havent guessed , All Visa's have been obtained ...we can now say Officially we are going on VACATION

YAY, The Captain will be aboard, with his first mate!!! So happy for you both! See you in a few weeks! :cool1:

I am totally exhausted wth trying to boost her spirits right now and really need this holiday.....but now of course I shall be worrying too......

Sorry for the offload ........back to normal service....:grouphug:
I hope things start to look more positive soon for your DD, fingers crossed the new meds work well. :goodvibes

I see that we now have Tropical Storm Earl......Please send up prayers that NO HURRICANES will be in the Gulf headed for the Mississippi, Louisiana or Alabama coast the few days before I leave on Sept. 16. My DH is a fireman for the City of Biloxi (which was leveled by Hurricane Katrina 5 yrs ago on Aug 29) and they can cancel all vacation time if a Hurricane is headed to our area....They do not care how much the trip cost or how much planning has been put into it!!!
Fingers crossed there's no hurricanes, or at least not until we're at CC and have to bunk down and take cover there for a few extra days! :)

I want to go there on Friday. The choir sings at 1:00. We will just be arriving at 8:30 am. The only reason I havent firmed up my plans is because I have no idea how jet lagged I will be. It is my hope that I will sleep on the plane and my sheer excitment will give me my second wind. I am getting a case for my phone and she is going to rest between the girls. I'm not taking any more cash that I can lose. I'm also only taking one credit card and my camera. My expired license for id. Nothing over the shoulder. No purse. I would love to take the train up. I've read they hold a daily mass. I want to go there very, very much.
Steffy, My girls aren't big enough for anything to rest between them, My butt, well that's a whole different story, but I don't think fishing around in the back of your pants for money is socially acceptable. :lmao::lmao::lmao:

LittleDisneyLovers - glad to hear that your fur-baby is now off the hook and on the mend.
Thanks, she's doing great. :thumbsup2

Okay, I can't wait. I'm going to start packing today, so unlike me. I usually pack about an hour before I leave for the airport. I need to DO something to get ready. I'll just start a list of clothes I want to take (if I feel I want to wear them between now and the cruise) so I won't forget them. Buying new undies, so I can pack those, too. I bought a first aid kit and some simple meds in case we get sick. I wish I could pack my own sheets. I'll miss them. : (

Oh no, don't start the undie talk again! We chatted for an entire thread about undies, spanx and eyepatches, let's not go there! :rotfl:

You and I are just gonna be rolly polly after two weeks on the ship with custard (or creme brulee) and fudge (and/or the chocolate fountain)! I'm still giggling about putting the plate under the fountain! hahaha!

A Plate under the chocolate fountain? I'm hanging out with you gals, you obviously know how to work a buffet! ;):)

The strength of a refrigerator magnet (very similar to the types of magnets used for door decorations) is about 50 gauss (measured at the surface). If you measure 1 foot away, it drops to .001 gauss, at 7 feet (the air shipping requirement), it drops to virtually 0.

So, unless you are putting up your door decorations with a 1" X 1" X 3" neodymium-iron-boron magnet, you'll be fine!

Thanks, you are a smarty pants! What would we do without you? :confused3:)

I have to get my car inspected tomorrow...keep your fingers crossed that I don't need brakes! I've had the car for 8 years and I do believe I've gone through 8 sets of brake!

OMG, That is a lot of brakes! :scared1:

Not to start anyone worrying, but I just read the funniest thing involving what could go wrong on flight day. "According to China Daily, an unidentified flying object that appeared above China's Hangzhou Xiaoshan International Airport disrupted a total of 18 flights this July. The U.F.O., which has still not been identified as of this writing, hovered in the air above Hangzhou City, causing all inbound and outbound flights to be delayed for several hours."

Add it to the list of ash clouds, BA strike, BAA strike, hurricanes, etc, etc.....:headache:

This is my biggest fear. His last day to work before the cruise is Sept. 12. So If he can get away from his station the morning of Sept 13, we will be ok because he will not answer his phone after that.....as far as they know, we will be gone!

This happened as we were leaving for the 5 night cruise in Sept 2008. They called and he made the mistake of answering the phone but quickly said we were already in the airport....just a little white lie! We were not there yet!!

I am praying and crossing everything I can in hopes that no storms develop right before we leave.

I shall be praying for you and hubby (and everyone else) that all bad weather stays well away!

Been q tonight, fingers crossed it stays that way, lovely day in scotland today, took the dogs for a 8 mile walk around a lovely loch, loch leven, (where Mary queen of scots was held captive)(sorry tmi:lmao:), hey actually slept all afternoon

Lynne, I loved Loch Leven and the area around it......haev spent many happy days there :goodvibes

That's more great news for you! :wizard:

My daughter just ended her 8 month stint as a college program cast member. She and all her friends were so sad about it all ending. (Can't feel too sorry, as she is off to Hawaii to continue college!) They had the time of their lives. She got red roses from one of them today, and a couple of others drove up from Orlando to visit for a couple of days. I wish I could've had that experience as a college student. So jealous, but happy for her. She's now seasonal and will work when she is off school.

Sounds like she's had an amazing time...lucky girl!:cheer2:

He will be touched that you asked. :goodvibes
His cold is getting better, his cataract worse by the day but only 5 more days to surgery. Today we were at Costco and he ate a sample of a sandwich (it was good by the way!) and some mayonaise dripped off. A bit later he said to me "people have dripped mayonaise all over the floor! We'd better get someone to clean it up." I looked and it was nails in the concrete floor not mayonaise!! Now I did not know about his dribble incident at the time he said this and I was ...where'd he come up with mayonaise? :rotfl: I just laughed and laughed. His sight is that bad! :sad2: Everything is blurred and has a "halo". He's grumpy too...he did not see the humor in the situation that I did.

He is amazing! :thumbsup2

Glad that Dennis is getting over his cold, not long now til his op

:wave2: everyone.

Just thought I'd check in. Haven't been on a several days and already too far behind. I am supposed to be packing but as usual - aren't.

I posted on FB that my nightmares have started. Also my son's. I hope to God he doesn't stress out which in turns stresses me out. The bad thing with us is that we stress our bodies out I think we are both getting sick. :sad2: Not a good thing. Taking tomorrow easy so that it has a day to get back into normal mode.

So, did I miss anything? someone let me know. :lmao:

Hope you manage to relax a little soon Laura.....if not, it won't be long til the cruise!:dance3:

:blush: Just been back to Marks and Spencer.

I took a skirt back I had bought a couple of weeks ago and then picked the same skirt up in the sale for £13 less. I like it when that happens.:) So I then went and bought 2 pairs of shoes. I have gone from no black wedges to having 3 pairs. But, one pair will be going back.:lmao: Goodness me, I could have bought so many pairs of shoes. The clothing racks were still quiet too, but I decided I had better not look there.:rotfl2:

Makes me feel better about not getting a long formal gown as I will get more wear out of my sale clothes and shoes than the gown. And, who looks at me anyway!!! So many other more gorgeous gals(and guys too) to look at!!

I'm trying so hard to resist looking in their sale Marilyn! You're not helping.....:rolleyes1:rotfl2:

:littleangel:

Just wanted to say a very BIG thank you to everyone who has sent their good wishes to Becky (and I). Hopefully all these bucket loads of pixie dust will soon start to work their magic.....

:grouphug:

:littleangel:

Mandy - let us know if the pixie dust works! It has a great success rate so far!

Angie - you laughed at poor Dennis! I laughed too, but I know it is horrible. I had eye issues about 4 years ago and when you cannot see right, it makes you miserable!!!! Hang in there and give Dennis a hug!

Todd - you sound so happy! I love feeling your excitement in your posts. God is amazing and we are so happy for you and Helen!

ReAnSt - hope you slept better and feeling better.

Hopefully no hurricanes or tropical storms to worry about in Florida! We have finally seen the sun after many days of clouds and rain. I actually liked it, but I am sure those visiting Mickey were not too pleased.

With all the talk about chocolate fountains, which I love by the way, I am going to go exercise, which I hate. But I will keep smiling! Hope everyone has a great day!

:love::love:
As others are, I will too be wearing a tiara...just a little cheapo, but it's cute...I don't get the opportunity to be a princess EVERY day...just most days! :rotfl2:

I will be escorting my princess to dinner that night also.
I hope I don’s let her down that night by turning into a frog, pumpkin, or something of that nature. That midnight thing can get tricky..

I love that woman….:love::love::love:

Joe

Thanks everyone so much for you kind words about my furbaby. I really appreciate them and it eases the pain. The house is a little empty today but we will get used to it in time. At least I can now leave leftovers on the bench without him getting stuck into them!

Thank goodness!

Sorry to hear you and your daughter are having a rough time. Depression is a horrible illness. :grouphug:

That'd stop the little turds stealing them though :rotfl2:
Thats funny, turds, I was 19 till I figured out what that meant, lol.

Your way to sweet, can you give Len some lessons?

Good morning all!

Having a bit of quiet time with y'all before I start the day.

While you are all packing, I've done some unpacking: I'm reading the Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon (published in the UK as 'Cross Stitch' I think) and just eating it up. I had to go get the 5th book out of my carry-on, as I am enjoying it so much! I still have the 6th book packed, and Tru has the 7th book packed - hopefully that will be enough. Anyone else like this book series?

That is terrific news, just great! Congratulations! Woo hoo!

Sorry if I appear MIA but I am dealing with some Madeira tour issues and trying to finalize getting people to join the St Maarten tour.

I am reading the posts but not responding much.

Anyone need anything from me, pls PM.

Noel

Thanks Noel. You're a lovely person.

So many posts after just a day or so away!

I've been with dd in Bristol as she's not been too good lately. :sad1:

Her GP has suggested changing meds and recommended she's not well enough to take exams at present and should be allowed to retake her second year at Uni. The Faculty don't meet until end of September, just before term starts ......while we're away of course.....so we won't know til then if they agree. :guilty:

I am totally exhausted wth trying to boost her spirits right now and really need this holiday.....but now of course I shall be worrying too......

Sorry for the offload ........back to normal service....:grouphug:

:littleangel:

I'm sorry. You sound so worried. Hang in there. It sounds like your dd has terrific support, and that can make a world of difference for her.

I am trying to send you a PM about the Madeira tour but your PM inbox is full. Please PM me when you can again receive PM's.

It is quiet here today. Is everyone packing? Last minute shopping? Making magnets? Or....did folks get a life outside the DIS? :surfweb: We still have just a bit of shopping to do. I need a slip for my semi formal suit and Dennis needs a couple of new dress shirts. Then that is all.....I think.
