I know all of us have had those days where we feel shot down, stepped on and worthless - that is me today! Question for the women - I just got a call from my doctor and was told that I have to come back in next week because they noticed a "density" on my squishy test. What does that mean and has anyone ever had it?????? Why can't the few weeks before the cruise not have any bumps. I know there are quite a few of us asking the same question - Todd, Angie and the list goes on and on.

:grouphug::hug: As others have said, I am sure it will be fine, but try to get in sooner just so you don't have to worry.
Okay, I never thought I would have to say this but after living in this house for 32 years, there is a Manhunt going on in our neighborhood!!! :scared1:

Thank goodness Hubby is home!!!
:scared1:
We bought at SSR as it was all Disney was offering at the time and we couldn't easily do resale at the time. We are happy with it as a home resort and have never had issues "switching" at the 7 month windows but if you travel at a busier time of year this is a major consideration. We are more than happy with SSR as a fall back - its a gorgeous resort and great location next to DTD.
We like SSR alot and are able to get in there at 7 months most of the time. Just not if we need several rooms for family especially the first 2 weeks of December.

The replacement fabric for my FE's came too. The first shipment they cut it to short but charged me for the correct amount. Problem is this replacement is not the correct stuff. It has a tag on it that is correct but it is something else. It is so ugly I can't use it but it did give me a good laugh. It says it is the Pilgram Father's Olive clipper ships I ordered but instead it is pink, orange and purple partridges from the start of a 60's movie. Time for plan B. They were very nice when I called Fabrics.com but I told them I didn't think the third time would be the charm and to just cancel the order.

:lmao: This struck me very funny!! :rotfl2:
So, I will preface this by saying that I am pages and pages behind as my "day job" is getting in the way of my "night job" (reading on DIS). I am not sure where this has gone, so, my appologies for going over what has been hashed and rehashed I am certain...

First, while I am deeply flattered, I am also a bit embarrassed by this. When I joined on to this thread just under a year ago, I did so with the hopes of connecting with others that were Disney lovers as well as just "good people". I have 'met' both, and am so looking forward to the in person meetings that we will share in the near future. That said, I volunteered to organize things because at the time this all started happening (way before the talk of Spanx and packing) I had time to burn, and I like to do this. Additionally as I have mentioned to some, I am in a situation with my mom where I am better off being over busy so I don't dwell on that. Oh, and I really an enjoying of all of this! Yes, I guess I have a bit of OCD... (From part 2, I think... Hi my name is Sue and I am a DIS addict. My DISorder is planning...)

I hope that I have been able to help with things that will make somebodies vacation more enjoyable, more memorable and more fun! I know that you all have made mine all of this and we haven't even sailed yet. So, if I have helped you to be able to relax, focus on work, take care of your family, or find time to shop on EBay dso you have more dresses to wear, then that is all the pixie dust I need!

See you all in just over 3 weeks!!

 Sue
We all do appreciate you and Glen and lots of others who are making this a special trip! :lovestruc:grouphug:
Pretty dresses.

Something to think about getting instead of the wetsuit. They make nylon skins, it is like a wetsuit but made out of swimsuit type material. They weigh much less, provide some warmth, offer protection from the sun, but do not offer the same buoyancy.

Thank you for all the good wishes for my surgery. I have to be there at 10am and surgery is a noon. I have a pile of books, magazines and DVD's to keep me occupied. There is also trip planning to keep me occupied.

Will be thinking of you.

How scarry:eek:
Thanks goodness DSonIL is with the sheriff's department!:thumbsup2
I just gave Howard my Christmas list:
1. dishwasher
2. another gun! And Yes... I can shoot:rolleyes1

Annie:yay:

I told hubby that I need to get my license to carry whether I use it or not. And I need to learn to shoot.

I love to shoot! Dennis recently bought me a Ruger 9mm (what a guy!) and we joined a local range that is up in the forest. I love to go spend the day there. Fun stuff!

I'm sure its nothing! Sometimes it can just be the way they tested! I'm sure theyll get to the bottom of it and it will be nothing!

Okay, so I'd like to do the room tours, the pj breakfast, the 5k run (through Disney). Don't know how to put it on the site. Lorraine and Giles got me a t-shirt, so unless I'm missing something, I think I'm set.

Oops, I'd also like to do the fish extender and maybe the candy thing if that is still open. We are GTY, so no room number.

I think they have assigned almost all rooms now so keep checking your ressie as I think it will come up with a room soon!

My TA just called and our documents are in. She'll bring them by the house tonight. She indicated they aren't as nice as they use to be but way better then those Princess uses. Everything from Princess is sent electronically, including the luggage tags. The positive is everyone gets theirs at the same time and you don't have to wait. The negative is you have to print everything including the paper luggage tags that you are told not to put on until you pickup your luggage at the airport. Then you need to hunt down a stapler or tape to attach so I guess Disney's to still better.

val

YEAH!!!! Glad they are finally here

I did register. : ) Well, actually, RE-registered. I'll figure it out. It doesn't look like the events I plan on attending require much pre-planning.

Hey just updating the cruiser list and notice on the website you still have the kids listed. I'm right in assuming its just you and Scott coming right?

OK - I have looked on the Roll Call for you and I don't see you. Did you do a new cruiser registration? You will need to complete that BEFORE you can signe up for events.

Sue she's mixed in the middle of the list! Weirdly she's back where I think she was originally in the list before leaving us

Well since the rest of the my cruise tradition are coming true for this cruise to. I been on 4 cruise and no upgrade, paying the fuel surcharge on one that apply and hitting hurricane or tropical storms and depressions. I have been on 4 cruises and hit 6. In Sept, 18 2005 4 day, Hurricane Rita, Sept 15 2007 Western, Hurricane Humberto, Sept 22, 2007 Eastern, tropical depression, August 17 2008, EBPC Tropical Storm Julio, Hurricane Gustav, and Hurricane Hanna.

Luckily we made it to all the ports. They just had to take it another way to get there

So if my streak continuous we will be reroute due to a hurricane.

OK I notice you never mentioned this before????? LOL I think we need to ban you from this cruise

If the gym being closed was me that started that, I said our first cruise was just OUT of dry dock and the gym was unopend the entire crusie, IT BETTER BE OPEN THIS CRUISE.sorry once again, I think that may have been a rumour kinda started by me.

Lynne ... you are a naughty noodle starting rumours like that :rolleyes1:rolleyes1

Not sure, State Police helicopters flying above, cops all over but nothing on the news. I want hubby to stay home instead of going to band practice.

He rode down to check things out on his cycle and no one is saying anything.

Sure makes me feel safe and I suddenly want to learn how to shoot!!!

Hope things calm down ... these things can be really worrying. I hate when the police helicopter hovers over at night

Thanks for all your kinds words. Next week is the time I pushed it up. They wanted to redo the test on the 17th of September and I told them NO WAY - leaving to get out of the country on the trip of a lifetime. She quickly changed it to next week.

I have "density" everywhere else, this shouldn't surprise me, but I appreciate everyone filling me in. Val, you are right, they said I might have to do an ultrasound but that would be the same day while I am there.

I will keep thinking of reading my book on Deck 4 and laughing with all of you!

Wishing you well with this and sending :hug::hug:

Sorry, all, the Gym WILL be open! And there IS a scale (a nice big doctor's office type) in the ladies changing area. Sorry to dissapoint! :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

I will NOT be stepping on the scale during the cruise .... that is something I just don't want to know about !!!

Thank you for all the good wishes for my surgery. I have to be there at 10am and surgery is a noon. I have a pile of books, magazines and DVD's to keep me occupied. There is also trip planning to keep me occupied.

Sending :hug::hug: and wishing you all the best for your surgery. Will be thinking of you.

Thanks for that .... I feel really reassured now :scared1::scared1::scared1:

Maybe we will be stuck on CC for days and days - We can only hope. val

I suppose there is an up-side :thumbsup2

Stephen, I forgot about those 2 storms. I now remember the lighting one of those nights, I think it was the first week.

Annie:laundy:

Lightning :scared1::scared1: it's getting worse by the minute :scared1:

Morning, quiet night:cool1:
Had a good sleep, :woohoo:
12 nights left........................

Good morning :thumbsup2

8 shifts left for me :yay::yay:

I was debating this too!

I plan to do it for the first 2 weeks in September ..... :thumbsup2

I don't want to hear anything about hurricanes, rough seas or winds!!!:scared1::scared1::scared1: Thank you all!

Three weeks from today we leave for Barcelona!!

Us too!!!:dance3::dance3::eek::dance3::dance3:

We bought at SSR too, and really really love it there. We walk to and from DTD almost every day. I love it to be the first place we stay on arrival as we can walk to DTD the first night and really feel we are THERE!!!! It is usually about midnight our body clock time when we set off walking though.:lmao:

Finally on the 11pm news, there was a guy robbing a home less than a quarter mile from our home and was caught in the act by the home owner. That was when the helicopter and police were called in. They did not find the person. That is really upsetting cause we are careful to keep things locked even while we are home but now will have to be even more careful.

I'm sure he will be miles away by now, but I so understand your feelings.

Morning, quiet night:cool1:
Had a good sleep, :woohoo:
12 nights left........................

The countdown is getting less and less.

Oh Corinna can I ask how much they were coming out as? I'm still debating whether to send the FE gifts rather than packing them?

I was quoted around GBP35 for up to 5kg for both DHL and FEDEX. I just had a look online yesterday and for DHL I can send up to 10KG on a 2 to 4 day service that is still trackable online for jut under GBP20. So I think that this is how I will go. The latest I will send my stuff is towards the end of next week so it will have plenty of time to get there.

We were booked as a family until we realized that the 3 in high school would just miss too much school--so we cancelled--now we're back on, but just for us parents!! The kids are guilting us, but we are considering booking the May crossing for them. This'll be our third TA, so you KNOW how much we LOVE the DISNEY TA!!!!!!

Are there any lanyards still out there? If not, at least what color are they? We'll make due if we're too late. LOL! I'll even make my own handy-dandy name tag! The lanyards were so cool to have on the previous trips. I did send a note to Tigger(bunch of numbers), but haven't heard back yet.

Anyone remember me from other cruises??? Is Hadley still going? CAcruisin? I can't wait to see old friends. Lorraine!!!!! Here we go!!!!

Looking forward to my happy place!

Welcome back.

:goodvibes Corinna, I just got my mail, and had a lovely package from you!! I can't wait to see what to do with them!

Thanks again!!!!

Thanks for letting me know. I have updated my spreadsheet.

Plans .....we dont need no stinkin plans ...LOL :lmao::lmao::lmao:

pirate:

I really hope the Italian Consulate gets busy in a hurry or I for sure wont have no plans :scared1::scared1::scared1:

pirate:

I keep my fingers crossed for you that everything will be done in time.

Congratulations to all of you who have successfully lost weight. I know how hard it is. Wish I could report the same. Now the dreaded question. Do any of you know if there is a scale on board? I half-way looked in the gym the last time I was there but didn't see one. Should the gym be closed (someone mentioned it might be) other then the deck walk is there somewhere else we can use to workout? I have recorded the sound from my excercise tapes on my ipod. Having done them so many times I don't need to see the video just hear the instructions and music. That way if the gym is closed I'll just do them on my own. Tomorrow I see my real doctor to get the results of my tests. Maybe he'll have the answers as to why I keep gaining weight even though I've done everything they tell me to; added more weights to my workout, increased workout to 2 hours a day, dropped caloric intake to 750 a day and taking medroxprogesterone pills. Oh to be 20 again but have the life experience of being 55. val

There are scales of sorts in the gym/ spa area. Next to the ladies' locker room, there is a relaxation area with day beds, a sauna and a shower room. The scales are in this area. They are like no scales that I have ever seen before. You do not just read your weight on a display, but you have to move counterweights until the scales are balanced and you read your weight by adding up the weights that were used. This was too complicated for me and I soon gave up.

Corinna

It's a bit of a nerve-racking day for us today ..... DS Danny gets his GCSE results. This will determine whether he gets into college or not so it is really important. He is a bit worried to say the least, especially as he was still under the weather with glandular fever during the exams and really poorly in the 3 months prior. We are crossing everyhing that he gets good enough results to get into college. :wizard::wizard::wizard::wizard::wizard:

Corinna

Oh that is good! debating now whether to send stuff or not!

Oh, no, I hope poor Holly will recover w/no bad effects.

She will be fine, Thanks. She is home with Mummy, she has had water and a little food, and even did a wee today, very exciting, LOL!

As I told Sue, I have fun shopping for your two girls for the FE!! I love to shop so was a great excuse to buy fun things!!

I love to shop. Yep, fullstop, I love to shop. I have also enjoyed buying and making our FE gifts, I can't wait to give them out! :)

pixiedust: for Holly and a quick recovery!! Do you have pet insurance? It is quite common here to have it here in my area.
I'm not sure if we have pet insurance, I know we have platinum cover, which is the highest our bank offers, I am not sure whether I ticked the box for pet insurance or not though. Need to dig out the paperwork. ;)

Tristan turned 11 months yesterday...

Wow, a 1st birthday on the Magic, Lucky boy!

I am so sorry to hear this. Praying all goes well. Yes why is it out fur babies are getting sick or ill right before the cruise. Totally understand the vet bill. WE got away with just $600.00 last week
Yes, she'll be fine, just feeling sorry for herself for a few days. Thanks. The vet bill is far more painful I'm sure! :rotfl: I'll swap your bill for mine? :rotfl:

So sorry to hear. Hope everything turned out okay.
All good, Thanks :)

Tell me your favourite USA shops....Everyone?????

Tiffany & Co, Saks, Cartier, Mulberry, D&G, Ralph Lauren........

I love Tiffany, and it is cheaper to buy Tiffany in America than cheap chain store gold in Australia! Same with Ralph Lauren, cheaper than some Target stuff here! Gotta love USA shopping!!!! :lovestruc

Our friends in-laws just came back from Barcelona two weeks ago. They are well travelled and live in San Francisco, pretty street wise. In the middle of the afternoon on La Ramblas, a middle aged, well dressed man walked by her and said to her, in English, "you've got something on the back of your sweater' and kept on walking away. Her husband looked and found someone had squirted catsup on her back. Still holding their purse and camera he used a napkin to wipe off the catsup and while their attention was on that someone else came up to them grabbed her purse and his camera and ran off. He took flight after him but fell. No one tried to help and the police didn't seem to care. It was nothing unusual, just another dumb tourist. Luckly, being the wise traveler, she had their passports and credit cards in a waist wallet. You can't be on guard every second only try your best. val
WOW, that is tricky! I bet if the criminals put as much time and effort into something worthwhile they could get great legal jobs! :confused3

Oh, yes! I have been a BENEFIT addict for a veeery looong time!
Me too, Love BeneTint, It's a must! ;)

For the crocs flips wearers, aim in the same boat but have a couple of non flip pairs that I love, http://www.crocs.com/crocs-patricia/10386,default,pd.html?cid=41U&cgid=women-footwear-sandals and I am breaking in this pair (warming the dryer and stretching to my foot,) http://www.crocs.com/crocs-madeira/10744,default,pd.html?cid=24K&cgid=women-footwear-sandals.

Pj

I alway hated Crocs, would always say "I wouldn't be caught dead in a pair of those ugly shoes", then........I spent a month at WDW, and gave in a bought some pink Mickey Crocs, threatened my DH not to get my feet in any photos! Now.....I am addicted, they are so comfy and there is such a great range available. I have a confession to make, Our local croc shop had a sale yesterday and I bought 9 pairs, yep 9, only 1 for me though. I got a pair for my dad, DH's dad, my DSM, 2 pairs each for girls, pair for DH and 1 for me!

I wanted to post this close to the cruise so many will read it. If you see me and I don't respond to you this is why....please do not take offense,,,
Terry, I really feel for you, I too suffer from migraines, mostly hormonal, but very strong smells can trigger them, Like when the neighbours re-sealed their driveway I had to go to my mums. And I too can't stand strong cigarette smoke. I am not nearly as bad as you are, but I can imagine and won't take it personally at all. :flower3:

Oh My!!! DH is organizing an event!!!! Be still my heart...
He's organised the entire website, I think that qualifies as a really BIG event! :dance3:

Am very scared! Hope she OK! Worst nightmare!!

She'll be fine, Thanks Lyn.

Hey you chatty bunch! Hello!

We're back from a small weekend camping trip in our pop-up. I am going to take a lovely bath soon to wash away the weekend's grime but first I thought I'd quickly catch up - ha! 30 pages since we left on Friday!?!
WOW, I think you have had your annual ration of bad luck, it must be finished now, you are really going to deserve and need this cruise, Not long now......

Had a Birthday party today for my cousin today. Back to work Monday. Surgery on Tuesday. Hopefully home late afternoon or early evening Tuesday.

Wishing you luck for your surgery in case I don't catch you before them. :wizard:

Someone claim the dress - it is adorable - but if i bring one more thing for Becca my wonderful DH may wonder why he dosn't have any shoes for the cruise...
Too small for my princesses, very cute though! :cutie:

Sounds like tailgating here in Philly for the Eagles!

Funny, Tailgating over here means following the car in front of you too closely while driving, it is illegal. That funny english language again :confused3

Since we're sharing... I don't just have a problem with smells. I'm highly allergic to the chemicals in a lot of perfumes, colognes, paint thinner and glue. I'm seriously allergic to tobacco, pollen, some dogs and all cats.

I sincerely hope they don't pull the carpet near our room or varnish the wood near me or I will be one very sick puppy. If they do it at night and I'm exposed to the fumes while I'm sleeping, my throat may close up and I might wake up dead. Guess I need to call DCL and remind them.:love::love:

I really hope they don't start ripping up the boat while we are on it!!! The smells are toxic and harmful! And the emotional distress to some of you would be just as harmful I think???:goodvibes
If you are listening Disney - Please don't tear up the boat while we are still on it!!!!!

I propose that we first nominate, and then vote for a Friend of Tinkerbelle! This would be a person (or potentially a couple) who have spread the most pixie dust among the guests on the Magic before and during the WBTA. There are several candidates from among our number, but first let me explain my thought:

First, think about who has done the most to help you, to help us all, enjoy our cruise. They have spread pixie dust, and therefore are doing what Tink herself does.
Richard, as much as I agree with you that Su_Kraft is a legend. I also think that there are many others here that give as much time and pixie dust as they have available in their busy lives. I understand where you are coming from, And I know that I am going to show my appreciation to Sue and others in my own way once we are aboard. I will decline in nominating just one person as this is impossible, I think everyone here gives in their own way, whether it be technical, emotional, facts, organisation, some much needed laughter, etc.....:goodvibes

Holy cow! Hope she is ok now, and no doubt will be in less pain than you wallet!
Thanks Paula, she'll be right, my purse will need some time to recover, LOL!

We are home from our 2 day trip to WA state. Dennis is already in bed, still not feeling very well. He is really struggling with his eye sight. This is evidently a rapidly growing cataract and he was trying to read the Sunday comics when we got home and just gave up after struggling with just one strip. He also had me drive the whole trip, which is really unusual. He loves to drive the mountain passes....me not so much! I'm glad he has just another week before he gets it fixed. He also has been struggling with a cold for several days. That's what he gets though for bragging that he has not had a cold in 2 years now!

Dennis will be so pleased once he's had his eyes done, It is so frustrating losing your vision, at least it can be fixed relatively easily. ;)

:wizard::wizard::wizard::wizard::wizard:

pixiedust: Hope everything goes the way you want. I'm sure everything will work out fine - he comes from good stock!

Hi Sue,

It's my fault, and there was a general consensus that there couldn't be ONE Friend, but that there should be Friends, plural.

In any case, you shouldn't be embarrassed. You have been wonderfully supportive to us all, and if you enjoyed it, so much the better! I've always thought that a gift is a blessing to the giver.

See You Real Soon!
Richard
