Hi, I new to the DIS forums and forums in general. Also a late comer to the cruise. Is it possible to join in for the pre cruise meet at the Hard Rock. It sounds like so much fun and a great way to meet fellow cruisers. Thank you
:welcome: aboard!!!

I AM ALIVE!!! WDW was not crowded today, but the monorail ride was from hell. We stopped between The Contemporary and the MK Park for one hour with no air!! They kept saying that the monorail in front of us had mechanical problems, but I am going to try googling and see if that is the truth or they had a medical emergency or something. It was unbelievable. If I was there for one day, I would have been upset. We got on the Monorail at 2:00 and did not make it back to Epcot till almost 3:30! It was exhausting and in the 90's today. Also, The Land was down, not working, Test Track fast pass line was not working and something else was down, but cannot think of it. I told the CM by the Land that every ride seems to have some kind of malfunction today. He said he has heard that quite a bit. Anyway, after the torrential rain, and the fabulous dinner in Mexico, we are now home. We had a fab time, but never made it to the MK.

Hope everyone is well and will catch up tomorrow. I had to write to all my dis friends on the boards thinking I might not make it out alive. By the way, the monorail was standing room only and no water!!!! Okay, I am done venting!
OMG!!! That must have been horrible... Glad you got to Epcot and had a great dinner in Mexico... :goodvibes

I am still getting used to it...but I like it and it's going to be a lot easier to take care of I'm sure!! :thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2
It looks lovely, Erik!!! Suits you, sir!!! :thumbsup2

I will be escorting my princess to dinner that night also.
I hope I don’s let her down that night by turning into a frog, pumpkin, or something of that nature. That midnight thing can get tricky..

I love that woman…

Oh My, your making me blush, you are so cute! :cutie:

Oh, and mentionables. We both need a few more mentionables so I won't have to do laundry. We can send pants and shirts out to be laundered, but I have issues with the mentionables being washed and folded by strangers.

I have to agree, I was so embarrassed when my DFIL was doing my washing a few years ago when I had surgery, that's when the whole eyepatch thing started! :upsidedow

I bought business card paper and Dennis still needs to print up some thank yous to hand out to CMs both on the ship and at WDW. That is such a fun thing to do. A CM helping us onto the DCL bus actually cried when we gave her one. Guess not many people take the time to actually say thank you.

That is so lovely, I have Thank-you cards to put the tips in, and some packets of Tim Tams for kids club CM's, room steward, ect....But I really like your idea of random Thank-you's for various CM's you encounter each day. :thumbsup2

On Holland America, we send out our laundry all the time. It's lovely ... it comes all folded and wrapped in tissue paper in a wicker basket. Anyway, one cruise, Mike and I got back someone's stained, ripped, big girl underpants. You know ... that pair. I turned them back into our room steward saying that they weren't ours, carefully wrapped back up in the tissue paper of course. I then imagined them going from room to room trying to find someone to claim that hot mess. I learned very quickly not to send anything out that I wouldn't be embarrassed to have delivered to someone else's cabin!

One word EW!!!!

Attention Jewellery Making People

Can I just ask you again to let me know when your kits arrive. At the moment there seem to be 11 packages MIA, three of which were mailed on August 16th (2 to USA and one to Canada) and the remaining ones were mailed on August 17th (one to Australia, two to Canada and 5 to USA). The ones that have arrived in the USA all took 6 days and we are well over this by now. Looks like Royal Mail hired a slow donkey to transport out packages.

Corinna

I got mine!!!!! I will send you a PM incase you miss this post. Thanks so much, looks pretty and girly, can't wait!!! :goodvibes

We enjoy dinner at Palo. Since we have 14 nights, and there are 3 restaurants, you will not have a problem seeing each restaurant. Maybe there is a group of 3 DIS friends that would like to have you join them. The tables are for either 2 or 4, so a group of 3 could easily add you.

yeah i suppose there is plenty of time must read some reviews and see some photos of palo must do it one night at least and yeah there is 3 restaurants some special theme nights that i must go to

i need to check my nights and where we are on the rotation

yeah its great to meet new people, when i worked for a large national organisation i worked across the whole of the UK from ireland to scotland so i was away from home 4 days a week on the road visiting clients to help with their IT. This meant i spent most of my time in restaurants eating alone so i am used to it .. ... but yeah it would be nice to make some new friends while onboard you guys have been great fun on the boards and very friendly.

thank you for the response

Just finished off my Mickey Mouse Hazlenut Ground Coffee! I definately need this vacation to restock my supplies lol! Anyone know if they sell the flavoured coffee onboard in the shop? Mind you could just get it when we get to Disney couldn't I?

Whittards make a good one of those coffees

Oh thought of something us UK people need to do Phone Credit Cards and let them know we are going abroad

Thanks for the reminder Sarah ... thats on my to do list too !!

Pain about having to go shopping this morning, but how lovely to have a wedding to enjoy. Sorry about the cold. You need Zinc Lozenges from Holland and Barratt. They work really well to shorten a cold. Unfortunately though I doubt they will be open till Tuesday. We also buy Zinc tablets when in the US and take them for the period before, during and after our vacations, just in case!!

I must buy some zinc tabs ..... to go with my multi vits, cod liver oil, echinacea and cranberry supplements !!

Nah, Im at work till monday am, then a whole week off,(plus the monday) we are going to Elgin for the weekend to do a marathon, we are taking the train, really looking forwrd to it as it is a lovely line to go up north and have always taken the car.

Sounds lovely. Hope you have a nice relaxing time :cloud9:

Marilyn, it just hit me.. your ticker says , 2 weeks and 6 days, i truely cant beleive after ALL this time and planning we are actually GOING>>>>
Kinda sad in a way if you know what I mean, I dont know what I mean:confused3

I definitely know what you mean .. the anticipation is so exciting, once we actually get there it will be nearly over :sad2:

For the Brits, a reminder. Check your European medical card(old E111) is up to date. I didn't know they weren't forever. I checked ours and it needs renewing in January.

Ours are fine. Thanks for the reminder :thumbsup2

Erik, love your hair. :love::love::love:

I ran around shopping all day. Found my tiara. Bought more magnetic paper. Did the laundry and found that I have more than enough mentionables to last the 18 days without having to do laundry.:laundy: Now I just need to squeeze them into one suitcase, as my second suitcase is completely taken over with f.e. gifts. ;);) Found my final f.e gifts, got the cards to do my tags.

I really need to revisit my budget. I anticipate dropping $500 at the spa and another $600 on tastings, purses and my bar bill. :scared1::scared1: $200 DCL tours. $150 wi-fi $75 Shutters. $75 Cove Cafe

I haven't prepaid anything, so I figured 570 euros.

Barcelona... Taxi, lunch, dinner, breakfast, train, private tour, wine, pink champagne, stuff.

Gilbraltor.. stuff

Madiera, tour, wine, lunch, wine, stuff, wine

I paid for the insurance that will get me back to the USA if something horrible happens to me medically. I need to renew my drivers license as it expires on my birthday.

I just can't wait to meet you all.

OK....question for you guys....we are flying in Saturday morning and being picked up by Disney.....do we need to get euros before we leave or can we just wait til we get on the ship. We are not going to do anything in Barcelona as of right now.....what do you think?
Tom
