Aha you know how to use Photoshop ;)

OMG you had me worried for second there! :scared1:

Welcome aboard!

I'm Paula and I'm a Disney addict...

I have just spent 2 hours wandering around the market and shops in Napier. Damage to my wallet - $4 - geez I suck at shopping!

I bought a cute (junk) bangle and a pretty little card wallet. I'm now back in my hotel room eating my leftover Thai takeaways for lunch and wondering whether to read my trashy magazine or watch Sex and the City before chat... decisions, decisions :rotfl:

Hi, Paula, thank you for the welcome. Hope to meet you aboard!

We know where to come if we run out of $1's!!!;)

Not that I know who he is  but very funny!!!!

Oh my, you got me there!!! So pleased it isn't true!!!!

Hi and welcome.

That is a total nightmare in that heat. Plus the monorails smell pretty bad at the best of times so stuck with no aircon!!!

What lovely hair you have. I love the new look, but you look great however you have your hair!!:thumbsup2

I have a purple T Shirt. I think John will just wear his black polo shirt. I guess nobody will realise we are dressed for the theme night!!!! But at least I will have made a little effort.

I posted something similar a month or so ago, but general consensus seemed to be that folk would tip anyway. I bet they love Americans!!!:lmao:

Hi, and thank you for the welcome. I think this hits post number ten so watch out....the PM's will start!

Here you go Jason, the menus for most of the theme nights.

The ones missing are only on the TA's so we don't have any menus more recent than 2007
Im not reading them as they will make me hungry.
thanks your awesome

oh wow they sound great i am hungry now
EXACTLY
OK....question for you guys....we are flying in Saturday morning and being picked up by Disney.....do we need to get euros before we leave or can we just wait til we get on the ship. We are not going to do anything in Barcelona as of right now.....what do you think?
Tom
I dont know, I would like some for just in case if it was me, but I suppose you should be fine.
Hi, Lynne, thanks for the welcome. My ancestory is Scottish. Mackey Clan. I have visited your beautiful country and love it. Looking forward to meeting you.

Youre very welcome,
I read that as Mickey Clan and had to re read it,:lmao:

Mickey on the blooming brain!!!

Hi, I new to the DIS forums and forums in general. Also a late comer to the cruise. Is it possible to join in for the pre cruise meet at the Hard Rock. It sounds like so much fun and a great way to meet fellow cruisers. Thank you

Welcome to the gang!:banana::banana:

I AM ALIVE!!! WDW was not crowded today, but the monorail ride was from hell. We stopped between The Contemporary and the MK Park for one hour with no air!! They kept saying that the monorail in front of us had mechanical problems, but I am going to try googling and see if that is the truth or they had a medical emergency or something. It was unbelievable. If I was there for one day, I would have been upset. We got on the Monorail at 2:00 and did not make it back to Epcot till almost 3:30! It was exhausting and in the 90's today. Also, The Land was down, not working, Test Track fast pass line was not working and something else was down, but cannot think of it. I told the CM by the Land that every ride seems to have some kind of malfunction today. He said he has heard that quite a bit. Anyway, after the torrential rain, and the fabulous dinner in Mexico, we are now home. We had a fab time, but never made it to the MK.

Hope everyone is well and will catch up tomorrow. I had to write to all my dis friends on the boards thinking I might not make it out alive. By the way, the monorail was standing room only and no water!!!! Okay, I am done venting!

Sounds crazy Sandi! Glad you survived it all though

So here is the new look..................

newhaircut.jpg

I am still getting used to it...but I like it and it's going to be a lot easier to take care of I'm sure!! :thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

That's a really great look Erik...and would seem much easier to control too :goodvibes

:littleangel:

We have never been on holiday abroad before!!! And are in the dark as to how much to budget. We got 500 Euros. We will need to pay for taxi in Barcelona from the airport to the hotel - 55 Euros and I'm thinking a 5 Euro tip  - . Thursday dinner is prepaid, as is the hop on hop off bus. So, any entrance fees we may need (have no idea how much to budget for this), and breakfast, lunch and HRC on Friday. Bus to the port is prepaid and I think we will pay for the hotel with our credit card. Then we need just lunch in Maderia and some souvineers at both. Maderia tour is DCL so will pay for that in US dollars on board. It seems 500 should be enough????:confused3

Sounds fine to me Angie :)

We went on a shopping trip to the mall today. I got a purple top for villian night and will wear black slacks with it. Dennis is undecided as to whether he needs to buy a purple shirt, or just confiscate our DS's purple shirt and tie since they wear the same size. :thumbsup2 They did have some amazing sales going on though. We got him 3 pair of shorts, 2 Tees and a polo all for $31! Good shopping....and yep, I'm finally getting my Montana guy into shorts!! :rotfl2::rolleyes1 We also got him a new pair of crocs. His feet are happy!

Good shopping there! I'm also going for the purple top and black trousers that night....:thumbsup2

I won't be able to get on with much cruise related tasks today even though I have a day off as we are all going to a wedding this afternoon. Typically the British weather has let the side down completely. I ordered DS a new pair of trousers and when he tried them on yesterday they were too tight, so this mornings mission is to buy a bigger pair for him so I am off to the shops, before coming back to get ready for the wedding at 3pm. The wedding should be a nice chance to relax for a few hours.

I also think the cold I have been brewing for a few days is finally about to make an appearance .... I really hope so to be honest, as everyone else in the family has had it and I need to get it over and done with before the cruise.

Only 6 more work shifts ahead of me, though if they are anything like yesterday's shift which was a complete nightmare, I don't think I will make it with my sanity intact. The cruise can't come soon enough now. :yay:

Hope your weather's better than here then Sarah!:rolleyes1 Currently have torrential rain and heavy winds!!! Seems more like November than August BH weekend!!!!!:eek: Feel so sorry for all those camped out at the festival today.......:sad2:

Thats kind of the way were thinking about it too "what if CC's get refused?"

We've only got 1 night in Barcelona so Im thinking maybe 200 Euros? Then we have like 6 nights in WDW after the cruise so I'm thinking maybe $1000 to last? Weve got the meal plan and weve got Disney tickets sorted. I'm thinking that way we can use some of it for Room service etc. Still don't know if this is enough!

Oh thought of something us UK people need to do Phone Credit Cards and let them know we are going abroad

That sounds similar to our budget I'd say Sarah, and we're staying there for around the same time too :goodvibes

Pain about having to go shopping this morning, but how lovely to have a wedding to enjoy. Sorry about the cold. You need Zinc Lozenges from Holland and Barratt. They work really well to shorten a cold. Unfortunately though I doubt they will be open till Tuesday. We also buy Zinc tablets when in the US and take them for the period before, during and after our vacations, just in case!!

Must pass on the zinc lozengs tip to Becky, she's always getting colds!:rolleyes1

For the Brits, a reminder. Check your European medical card(old E111) is up to date. I didn't know they weren't forever. I checked ours and it needs renewing in January.

I've never had one of those......do I need to get one for us? We have Travel Insurance and all that but no E111 card......:confused3

OMG!!! I just got back from a weekend on the boat and I am 40+ pages behind! I am going to spend the next few hours with a cup of tea, ignoring my family, trying to catch up, bear with me if my replies are days late, I will keep it to a minimum.......don't you people have stuff to do, let me catch up!!!!:rotfl:

Nope, we just hang around here Hayley and chat about nothing much :rolleyes1:rotfl2: until you come back......:thumbsup2:rotfl:

Hope you ahd a good weekend on the boat!:goodvibes

:littleangel:

I really can not believe the weather here today! Its freezing, with a mad wind and chucking down with rain......more like winter than an August summer day!!!!:scared1:

We've been out for lunch to a pub by the river (sat indoors of course) :goodvibes and had a poodle round the garden centre........I've now been warming up by watching YouTube videos of the Dream being built......:cloud9:

Oh....and I now have a full length formal dress Marilyn & Kaz, after trying on some of my dresses from our honeymoon!!!:cool1::cool1: I'm so pleased they fit again!!!:woohoo::woohoo:

Hope the weather's better wherever you are!:cool2:....and 3 weeks from today I won't care what it's like here.........:dance3:

:littleangel:

So sorry to hear you were under the weather today. I hope you will feel better in the morning.

I think it is hard when you get news of someone so young passing away. It is especially hard I think when they leave small children behind.

My prayers and thoughts are with you and their families during these hard times.

Thank you...I know that the familes are really having a hard time with their losses so my heart truly goes out to them.

Just finished off my Mickey Mouse Hazlenut Ground Coffee! I definately need this vacation to restock my supplies lol! Anyone know if they sell the flavoured coffee onboard in the shop? Mind you could just get it when we get to Disney couldn't I?

I believe I saw some in the shop next to Diversions...can't remember for the life of me what it's called though...

I woke up because my alarm clock on my phone was going off and I was so tired last night from being sick, I couldnt' remember where I put my phone! Needless to say, I'm heading back to bed for a bit...I need more sleep so I can fully recover from that horrible virus.

Hope you feel better soon!

Good Morning from California. Hi, I'm Judy from the San Francisco Bay area and this is my first, but I don't think last, Disney cruise. My birthday was a week ago and I turned 60. My DH gave me this cruise as a birthday present and I will be traveling with four friends, 3 cabins. We are meeting up in Barcelona from different places in the US. My cabin mate, Shanna, will be celebrating her 37th birthday on Sept 28th so this is a special cruise for both of us. Shanna is one of my best friends so you might can tell that I am young at heart even if the old body doesn't think so! We have both cruised, separately, on different cruise lines but neither of us have been on a Disney cruise. The other three in our group have and love it! They said we would never go on another cruise line after this trip. I am a Disney freak and have been to DL so many times I don't think I can count but never to WDW, so will make it happen at the end of this cruise. Thank you all again for the info and the welcome. I looking forward to meeting you.

Judy

Reall sad to hear about all the heartache those poor families must be facing, will be thinking of them (and you) x Hope you soon start to feel better too, these virus things can really hit you sometimes.

Cool thats good to know! Paranoid we will either have way too much or no where near enough!

I know what you mean!:thumbsup2

I couldn't face going anywhere - just huddled indoors and had smoked salmon for brunch with a couple of Pamplemosas!!!

That's what I call 'em anyway - pink Prosecco & grapefruit juice... ;)

Oh that's BRILLIANT news, Mandy!!! I shall look forward to seeing it in just over 3 weeks!!! :dance3:

If you felt like you really need to tip, maybe just round it up a bit. We don't tip here either so with a taxi, you can if you wish round it up to the nearest $/Euro but its not expected. Also I found an estimate for 25-30 euros for the taxi to Ramblas - does anyone else have any idea? Just worried I might not have enough cash now...

My DH John was in Barcelona in February of this year for the Mobile World Congress. When John took a cab in February from the Plaça d'Espanya which is near the Magic Fountain of Montujic to his hotel the HCC Open which is 10 minutes by cab, it cost him 20 Euros.

Hi Judy!!! Good afternoon from rainy London! I'm Karen, 47 years old and looking to enjoy my 6th Disney cruise! As a self-confessed Disney freak, I think you'll be hooked... ;)

What a fab birthday gift from your husband - Happy 60th for last week.. :goodvibes I think you'll find that most people on this cruise are young at heart so you'll be in good company... Look forward to seeing you onboard!!!

What an ace present from an ace hubby, Happy Birthday

Hi all,

Looking for a favour from a US based DISer. Would anyone be able to help me buy a micro SIM card for an iPad from an AT&T store? I believe they cost $15 + tax.

This is to allow us to hit the ground running with Internet access when we arrive in Florida without having to drive around looking for an AT&T store!

If you can help out, please send me a PM. I can transfer funds by Paypal or give you cash on the ship, whatever suits.

Thanks

Min Yu

Min Yu, if no one else has volunteered, I will help you. Send me a PM and I will give you my email address to pay on PayPal when I get the card.. Is this what you are talking about as a micro sim card from an ATT store?

Just finished off my Mickey Mouse Hazlenut Ground Coffee! I definately need this vacation to restock my supplies lol! Anyone know if they sell the flavoured coffee onboard in the shop? Mind you could just get it when we get to Disney couldn't I?

Is it the Horace Hazelnut version shown in this set? My dad was especially fond of the Songbird hazelnut version of Thanksgiving coffee roasted in Fort Bragg, California. It is quite an interesting coffee company.
