OK for those of you in the UK who have seen or heard mention of the Newport State of Mind video on you tube that reached over 1,000,000 hits in 3 days and has become an over night success (it works off the New York State of Mind by Jay Z and Alicia Keys as the basis) I wanted to share this with everyone. Its all about the Town where I live

INFORMATION UPDATE ABOUT LANYARD PINS

Connie and I want to update you on the paid and unpaid status of the lanyard pins. If you look at the excel spreadsheet below, you will see we have 127 pins ordered by the DISers.

Please check your pin amount and payment information to be sure it is correct. If not, please PM either Connie at Con5421 or me.

Pins will be available for pickup after 10:30 AM in the Magic boarding area of the Barcelona terminal or at the DIS meet. If you can not pick up your pins at either time, please PM Connie or me to make arrangements to have them delivered to your stateroom.

Connie also wanted to let you know there are a few pins that are on order that have not been promised to DISers if someone is still interested. You can either PM Connie or me if you are interested in purchasing one or more of the extra pins. The payment instructions are the same and the pins can be paid by PayPal to either Connie or me.

Thanks to both of you all lookin good :)

I was about the same age when I got mine and didn't tell my mom for months. She finally saw it when I forgot and wore a tank top in front of her. Turns out my worry was for nothing because she just looked at it and said it was cute. I was ready for a scolding.

Now the motorcycle I got 5 years ago?? She still doesn't know about that!

:rotfl2:

Just a quick pop in to say :wave2: . Getting more and more excited to be starting this adventure. Have a great week everyone:)

you too!:)

:sad2: Darn it! Still GTY.

The waiting is KILLING me! :scared1:

me too!:rolleyes1

me too! this is driving me crazy - this is our 6th cruise and the first time we have been GTY! I am being taught patience!

Krisann

almost the same here....5th cruise and first for GTY........I'm so impatient!:rolleyes1

I've been very busy taking care of DGD2. She and her mother have been staying w/us since their air conditioner decided to die in the middle of this 90-100 heat wave last week :scared1: . Unfortunately, this morning the baby woke up w/a fever ~102 degrees. Since DD had to work, guess who had a sick baby today? It's so hard seeing them looking like little wilted flowers, no energy, no appetite, no interest in anything. I hope she's feeling better in the morning, poor baby.

Poor little one...hope she feels better soon

I've heard of Miami Ink but never seen it - I think that is on subscription TV which we don't have - seeing we never watched free TV anyway - we got rid of it and just watch everything on DVD or online. ;)

I understand NZ has one of the highest percentage of tattooed people in the world - I guess due to our polynesian culture. There is a lot of pride particularly in Maori designs and many Maori and non-Maori have them. We have many world class artists here too and in the city there are tattoo studios everywhere. My cousin got two done here last time he was in New Zealand.

There is even a Maori man who works at the main public library in town with full face moko - not so common in this part of the country but more so in the north island.

This is what moko looks like, women tend to just have it on their chins. It usually depends the tribe and family history of the person so each is unique to the individual.

Amazing designs......I find them fascinating :goodvibes

That is a fantastic loss, I would be ecstatic with that! Good onya! :dance3:

Aw thank you!:thumbsup2

For those over the pond and elsewhere that use a metric system and need to convert our inches into centimeters etc. for the wrist bands, here is a link I use to convert centimeters, feet, yards, rods, miles, etc.

I also add meter, kilometer and miles converter links.

That's a good hint. Maybe a Celsius converter is handy too?
I also have to use one. I don't have much clue about Fahrenheit...

Temperatures Converter.

Hubby made pizza one night and had an audience!! Bullet, Markie and Cache

Yummy food. Are these your Goldens?!? :lovestruc

Speaking of "clothing optional" I wonder if anyone will spot the famous "naked man of Barcelona" on Las Ramblas. :rotfl2:

First I had to think about what you guys mean with "optional clothing" beaches.
Not that I would "do" it. But... well... I'm pretty European, I guess

I was about the same age when I got mine and didn't tell my mom for months.

We will always be their child, won't we?!? :lovestruc

We got our Euros while in Reno, looks like play money. :rotfl:

Hi fellow cruisers, I'm Sue, a new cruiser, mother of 'noworriesmate' and grandmother to Nicholas and Lillian. I'm delighted to be joining them on this Atlantic crossing, and certainly look forward to meeting you all.

When I called the other day to request a server the guy at DVC said that we may not get room assignments for up to 2 weeks before the cruise :scared1: That really shocked me. Hopefully it will be sooner than that.

Hi there Sue :yay: Good to 'meet' you...we're Mandy & Mark from the UK, travelling on our own on our 5th DCL cruise...and can't wait!:dance3:

Hello there and welcome.

I'm sure they will come through way before then. One day someone will come on here all excited, and lo and behold everyone will have their room numbers!!! Maps out ready to check where they are!!!!

Welcome! This should be one great cruise!!!

I am glad to hear everyone was ok. Glad you were in a Suburban (not a smart car).

That would be awesome... I have Google Earth.

Ok as an owner of a smart car. I actually feel safer in it than in our Yaris. Why because it is made around titenium roll cage, 4 airbags etc. Have you ever seen the demo of what happens to a smart car when crashed into a wall at 75 miles an hour. It bounces off the wall and you can still open the doors. However at that speed you would die from impact anyways.

Hi everyone!
Just popping by to let you know that I'm booking this cruise as a last minute 'sanity saver' for myself!!! My name's Karen, I'm from the UK and this will be my 6th DCL cruise and by far my longest to date! I expect to be in a Cat 7 with late dining.

It'll be a solo trip (my first and I'm more than a little nervous TBH) as the primary purpose is to escape from the Crazy Castle my home has become during a problematic and protracted building/refurb project - such a long and boring story.... :sad2: Anyway, I'm sailing in search of R&R plus the chance to spend some time with friends old and new!!

So I guess the most important thing at this stage is to ask if someone could let me know what (if anything) is left to sign up for - I would be most grateful. :goodvibes

OK, the introduction's over - better go and compile a packing list. Can't believe I'm doing this!!! :woohoo:

Karen, HI!!!!! How exciting!!!

Read the first page. You can still order Lanyards if you are quick and the cruise logo pins.

I think you can still join all the boozy tastings. Boy folks on this cruise like their booze!!!:lmao:

FE's are still runnning - you just fill up another group of about 15 cabins.

Champagne Girls - Connie(cquick) is organising this, but no list as yet. Keep your eyes open. I think the folk to contact have made the posts relevant to what they are organising.

Mandy(UKAngel) is on the cruise too!!!

Have you sorted out your flight to Barcelona yet?

This is so exciting!!!:woohoo::woohoo:

Welcome aboard. Not sure if there are any t-shirts but take a look on the first page for a link to our pirate web page. There you will find the logos we are using so if you want you can print it on iron on paper and make your own shirt.

I believe Strawberry FE froup is still open. Champagne girls is always open. It is where you wear a pink shirt, tiara ( cheap cheap) and a pink boa. If you do not have one Cquick is organizing this and said she is bring extras.

Check out the wrist band and give your size. Most of this stuff can be found in the last 10 pages :: Good luck. This thread moves fast so if you do not check for a day do not be surprised you are having to read 20 pages :lmao:

My biggest suggestion read pages backwards :)

Please help me! It's not working. If I just do it right from the website, it only prints the Tr (from the back of the shirts). I copied it to windows photo viewer and it cut off the edges of the barcelona and PC flags. I have to get this figured out before I run out of ink! For the ones which were made already, how wide and how high (in inches or centimeters) were the logos? 8.5" by 11" roughly?

Oh, why didn't I get here in time to just do it the easy way? :headache:

This is what I would do. Save picture ar jpeg. Then open a word document. I would put it 8.5 X 11. Then insert picture. You can then make it fit that way.

Since you can size it to fit on the 8.5 X 11 letter sheet.

That is how I make mine hope it helps.
