I'm in the Thyroid club too! I've been taking Synthroid since I was 12 - I'm 30 now. It enjoys varying and messing with my weight (which doesn't need help to be messed with at all). Besides the thyroid problem, I also have PCOS which also makes it very hard to lose weight. I'm going to one my doctor's on Monday and I'm planning on talking to her about my lack of weight loss even though I've been on Weight Watchers and watching my weight for over a year now.

Can't believe we're almost on part 8! :thumbsup2

Welcome to the thyroid club!:thumbsup2 Gotta love the way it helps the weight loss (NOT) :rolleyes1

We went to the Disney Store today. My dd is so excited to wear all her new flip flops on the cruise. They were like $1.50 with the extra 20% off today. What a deal! I think she has every color now. Plus, lots of swimsuits and stuff on sale. So, if anyone has one close to them it's a great time to shop!!

How lovely! I'd love a pair in each colour!:thumbsup2

I am in the same situation, but didn't find out about both until I was in my early twenties.

Yes, that's when I was diagnosed too:confused3

What a beautiful place!:goodvibes

Update on the lost hearing aid. No, the theme park didn't find it. But our audiologist has managed to find a pair of brand new hearing aids that were overstocks and a few models behind the current release so they can't be sold as new. She is giving them to us at no cost! :cool1: We just need to purchase new ear molds, which is the part that actually goes in the ear. And she referred us to a state program that gave us a free adapter that allows DS to listen to his ipod through the hearing aids. No more switching between the two which is what led to him losing it in the first place. He had taken his ipod off and didn't fully put the hearing aid back on, then when he realized it in the middle of the ride, he reached up to adjust it and knocked it off.

That's great news, so glad it's sorted :cool1:

Thank goodness for friends and family. I spent the day with my 2 BFF and DD and DGD packing. How do we ever accumulate so much stuff? My living room is filled with boxes - many of them from the local liquor store. What a first impression I am going to make on my new neighbours lol. The problem with doing the packing so far in advance is having to live with the boxes. But I have to get this done so I can spend time doing important stuff like cruise planning.:yay: I also got a great surprise today. I got a package from ADL and received a great backpack. Life is good. Trudy

I feel for you, as someone who has moved house 7 times in the last few years .......:rolleyes1 Good luck!

Nope - same price - we bought those before the cruise last time too - hubby decided he did not want to go so I used both days.

Truthfully the reason that I buy things ahead of time or put on board credits on is to get the 6 months no interest on my Disney Visa - see if you put it on the card BEFORE you go on the trip you get this benefit - but anything you put on the card ON the trip doesn't - I found this out after our first cruise - and by doing it a month ahead of time for the cruise we also get disney points to spend on the cruise from our things we prepaid.

Now here is what I prepay

Tips

Water Package - it is nice to already have it in the room when we get on board (we do not really drink alcohol but we do drink water and I know the water on board is just as good but this is something hubby wants to do so we do it - I will pay $1.66 per bottle for it - but refuse to pay $65 for a bottle of wine I can buy for $20 stateside (we both love Rosa Regale and will bring a bottle of it for the cruise)

after that I just add up the money for the following and put it as an OBC:

Pictures
Excursions
Spending money for the kids
Spa treatments we have booked
Palo meals
and a little bit for extra's

This helps us budget also - then on board we use a different credit card that gets us points for other things if we go over :)

Krisann

Good idea with the water!

I dont know how to post this>>>
There's a family that posted on the regular DCL thread, something about

FYI - just found this - for those with questions about the wine package go to www.disneycruise.com and click on Planning Center, then Gifts and Amenities, and then select Barcelona - scroll down quite a ways and it will have the wine information, you can pre-purchase it if you want. They also have where you can buy single bottles ahead of time- even if you do not pre-order - this is a good way to know the costs of the wines you like.

Krisann

Thanks Krisann

I 8 weeks today we will be either in my Dad's car heading to Heathrow airport or 30 mins into a bus journey to Heathrow airport!

I love math and stats. I tried to help a friend in college. I kept saying to him doesn’t this just make logical sense to you. I think it takes a special mind. I considered being an actuary back when I graduated, but I ended up with a different path in life. Who knows maybe I will do something more math based in the future.

When I did the math on my first longer cruise, I thought it better to do the package based upon the wines I was considering ordering (per the math above). However (thanks to the DIS), I now bring my own alcohol and plan to get a case of wine and a bottle or 2 of alcohol in Barcelona prior to the cruise..

My sister is not mathematical at all and I hate trying to explain Stats to her. Its definately a love or hate thing as I think some people are programmed to be more arty than others! She gets the arty side from my Mum who always wanted/wants to be a flower arranger!

I think the maths on the wine definately depends on what you are likely to drink. We worked out as most of the wines we've never had and we know we like cab sav, we would end up with quite a cheap range and it wouldn't be worth it! Gonna bring - according to dan - a bottle of spirits each to drink and go from there

I've just been working on my FE at long last......I wanted to add some little embellishments onto it...until my glue gun ran out of glue! :rolleyes1 My sewing is very sloooooooow.....:rolleyes1 it is nice to do something cruise related though!:cool1:

OK - all you seasoned travelers... Need some help please!!
We are trying to figure out our first day in Barcelona. I think we are down to 2 options...
1. Taxi to the hotel, drop luggage and grab the HOHO bus and see how the kids do - get off where they want, or just ride and take photos, etc.
2. Half day tour - pick up at airport, drop at hotel, see the sites, etc. and hope that the kids do OK for the 4-8 hours depending on the tour.

Thanks for the question, I'm still trying to figure this out myself. Also I am still looking into how to get to Montserrat Monastery. I think I'm leaning towards the train to cable car. Any suggestions?

In regards to your question #1, if the HoHo bus is the open air bus that takes you past most of the touristy spots then yes, there are two buses. One takes you to the close spots around central Barcelona and the other one takes you further out. In the middle of Las Ramblas is a booth that you can buy a ticket (s) and you can start there or you can start at the top of Las Ramblas where El Cortes Ingles is. You can buy your ticket when you first board at whatever stop you grab it at. Yes, the hop on hop off bus allows you access to stop whenever you want. I will tell you though that the bus stop at Sagrada Familia is always packed. So be aware of that and also of your pockets. Is super easy to get jostled there. All the stops are pretty well marked and the circuit take a bit.

Can you pay for the HOHO bus on the bus with a credit card?

GMTA!!

John and I are using Starwood points at the Le Meridien that I acquired when I stayed at the Royal Hawaiian when I did my one and only NCL Hawaiian cruise on the Pride of America. I should have continued to stay at the Royal Hawaiian. Worst cruise ever!!

I almost did the NCL Hawaiian cruise in 2007, I am now so thankful I didn't.

LOL it would be very odd if you appeared randomly in my Dad car! :rotfl2:

I've got to finish off my FE bags tonight and then I am all done thank god! Mind you this is assuming that my one gift works

Right question to all those in the Pomegranate and Kiwi FE Groups - please could any adult only cabins PM me that would like Silly Bandz? I ask because they have arrived and I seem to have loads of stuff now so have decided to put the bands in for cabins with kids and also anyone who wants some in an adult cabin rather than giving them to every cabin - although may still end up being every cabin lol.
