Noel - I hope you can join us - it sounds like such fun!!. We usually park at the Fairmont but might try the Masonic if we can get in. We've had to wait a while to get our car at the hotel and the price was $15 an hour. The Masonic is on California, about a block away, across from Grace Cathedral, it is $8 an hour. The Grace Cathedral parking is on Taylor, between California and Sacramento - a bit more of a hike - at $7.50 an hour. Hope to see you.

Val

Val, it looks like John and I will both make it to the mini meet. I will copy the parking information to him.

Remember that the adapters only change the shape of the plug (in this case, you need the "little two round prongy thingy." :rotfl2: You need to check whatever you're going to plug into the outlet; Spain uses 240V/50Hz (like UK and, as I recall, Australia - USA uses 110-120/60Hz). So, if what you're plugging in can't accept the higher voltage - most laptop adapters and phone chargers do - then you need a *converter* rather than an adapter. Otherwise, say good bye to your blow dryer, etc. :scared1:

Here's the link for Gibraltar: http://www.gibraltarinfo.gi/gibraltar-tickets.aspx

Apologies if anyone has already answered these; I've been off the Board for a couple of days and am just now trying to catch up!

I can attest to this first hand! When I was 16 I went to Spain on a school trip and did indeed have an adapter, not a converter. When I plugged my hair dryer in that first morning the sparks flew and the hair dryer died - I was stuck in Spain for the next 8 days without one:scared1:

We are doing option 2. We are being picked up at the airport and doing a 4 hour tour. We chose what we wanted to stop and see. Then we are eithe going to aqua for dinner or for tapas to a place we went to last time we were there.
Here is another vote for Agua. We have ressies there Wednesday night.

I tried to submit the form for my roll call a few weeks ago, but didn't know the password. I didn't see it in the first few pages of the thread, so I gave up. Can't remember why I didn't just ask here? But I was probably on my way out or something.

When you go to the website, click on roll call at the top of the page. This will take you to the main roll call page.

From there, click on ROLL CALL SIGNUP at the top right of the page.

Enter information, select your own password, save the record.

Please note that if you are signing up for the FE exchange, then you also need to email Krissann (see page 1 for info). Secret Mickey is now closed.

What company did you book your tour with (if you don't mind me asking...)

I was looking at Agua - but think we will be better with a less formal looking place if ya know what I mean... It is hard with the kids, but I hope to find a place to do Tapas and some Sangria that is also kid friendly (13 and 6 are hard ages to work with at times...)

Update on the lost hearing aid. No, the theme park didn't find it. But our audiologist has managed to find a pair of brand new hearing aids that were overstocks and a few models behind the current release so they can't be sold as new. She is giving them to us at no cost! :cool1: We just need to purchase new ear molds, which is the part that actually goes in the ear. And she referred us to a state program that gave us a free adapter that allows DS to listen to his ipod through the hearing aids. No more switching between the two which is what led to him losing it in the first place. He had taken his ipod off and didn't fully put the hearing aid back on, then when he realized it in the middle of the ride, he reached up to adjust it and knocked it off.

My brother was at Sturgis as well. Were you there for the horrible storm or was that this year? Shame they all run together.

.

It was last year on the Friday of Sturgis week. This year's is in August. :thumbsup2

We were riding back from Devil's Tower and came to a "T" in the rode. Right to Keystone, where we stayed, and a left to Deadwood. Really wanted to visit Deadwood again, but I looked back and saw a huge black cloud; the hale storm cloud, which I didn't know at the time. I decided to head back to Keystone for safety. Good choice, because all the damage was done from Deadwood to Sturgis by softball size hail. :goodvibes

It was our first time. We didn't participate in "nightly" , as Di says, "Inappropriate behavior". We loved the many bikes and rider we met during 8 days of riding in God's beautiful country. ;)

Sorry for the ramblings. :flower3:

Walt :cool1:

Thank goodness for friends and family. I spent the day with my 2 BFF and DD and DGD packing. How do we ever accumulate so much stuff? My living room is filled with boxes - many of them from the local liquor store. What a first impression I am going to make on my new neighbours lol. The problem with doing the packing so far in advance is having to live with the boxes. But I have to get this done so I can spend time doing important stuff like cruise planning.:yay: I also got a great surprise today. I got a package from ADL and received a great backpack. Life is good. Trudy

Noel - I am so glad you are both able to make it. Should you find it easier to park away from the hotel and cab or cable car (though the uphill hike from the cable car is a bit of a hike) we would be happy to drive you to your car.

Wonderful news. I know you are relieved and your son is happy about the ipod part.

Great news! Glad to hear that an equitable solution found you!!

What a week. I have done two telephone media interviews on Jackie (the person in the link I posted). I got out of the TV interview you guys saw by taking my PT with me to the interview. Today we had another TV interview with another TV station so I took both my PT and OT with me. Guess who they interviewed? ME! :scared1: Those two just stood back and even when I tried to get them in the interview they just smiled. I hope it comes out okay. You feel like a babbling fool talking to the camera.

Anyway, I am hoping her story will make a difference...even if it is for one person. Our hopes are that people will see that anything is possible and that there are services out there that can help you get some quality of life.

Someone asked what I do. I am in rehab. I manage a Day Rehab program. Our patients come 5 days a week for about 6 hours a day. We treat a lot of stroke patients, spinal cord, brain injury, MS, amputees and are now taking LVAD http://www.hearthope.com/?gclid=CJPuopvEgKMCFSH5iAod1yR-bg patients. I am a licensed individual, family and group therapist. My team consists of Physical Therapists (PT), Occupational Therapist (OT), Speech Language Pathologist (SLP), a Registered Nurse (RN) a rehab aide and a operations coordinator.

It is a rewarding field and as you could see from the link I posted earlier. I am always humbled by their journey. When they come to us in a wheel chair and can barely sit let alone take care of themselves to when they leave walking or independent in their wheel chair. Sadly, the mean age of the patients is 42. Our youngest stroke patient was 12.

I will post the link when the new interview is aired.

We booked through http://www.pepitotours.com/

We are (at some point) going to have Tapas and Sangria at :Ciudad Condal on Rambla Catalunya 18 at the corner with Gran via.

It is not far from Le Meriaian or Pratik Rambla.

I came in late to the story about the TV interviews, but caught your comments about being a rehab therapist. Good on ya, as my Aussie cousins would say. It was people like you who helped my mother recover when she broke her leg (very high up) on the night my dad died of a heart attack 18 months ago. Thanks to all the help from folks like you, she bounced back, and is doing fine now.

Thanks for all you do.

Richard

Ah! Except I am most likely skipping dinner for the spa,. I am a bad girl.

Pj

Perhaps we can buy you lunch! :goodvibes:hug:
