So, if you use Disney Visa to put money in ahead of time as an OBC this counts as 6 mo same as cash, but if you pay with Disney Visa onboard to settle your account, this does not count toward 6 month same as cash?

that is correct - learned it the hard way :) on our first cruise - so now every cruise I do I put money on it up to the day before we leave and get the offer

Now there is a thought.

Thanks for sharing your experience. I don't think this would be a problem here. I had the middle package on the Med cruise and this was only just about enough after me being really ruthless with photos and I still bought an extra photo on top of the package. So I was going to get the biggest package anyway and I cannot imagine not using up all the credits. Having said that, I might just go for the onboard credit. I was going to put some on anyway to cover the tastings and might just add some more for the photo package as well.

Corinna

Yep just adding the money is what I am doing - I am planning on the biggest package and the CD so I will put in $$ on my account and then just purchase the package the first day - even if you buy it ahead of time you still have to go and exchange the certificate into your package and they still have to run your KTTW card - it took more time to do the "exchange" than it would have to just purchase the package.

So true! I've been thinking about the haircut, too! Next Tuesday is my next one, then I get cut and color the day before I leave!! :woohoo:

That's a PERFECT graphic! I just love seeing new ones! pirate:

Well done Kimberly ... you did it pirate:pirate:pirate:

I have just been shopping online for scrapbooking supplies. Found some cute things for the scrapbook exchange. I am going to make some bits and buy a couple of things, do you think that would be ok. I don't really know what people will expect :confused3

So just everyone knows- we aren't staying at Le Meridien. That was the first webcam I found. We are still at Palace Avenida. But I wish we were. Too much $$$$$$$$$$$ for just 2 nights. I got the Palace on Priceline for a lot less $$$$$.

True! No humidity is a big deal. When returning to my parents home I'm always reminded what great weather we have here. My dh is going to Boulder tomorrow. Maybe I'll take my mom and do the tour when she comes to visit next month. I doubt my two little ones would enjoy going on that tour.

The minimum age for the tour is 5 just as an FYI.

Great, at least I will able to understand his accent, being from Australia, even if I can't keep up with the spinning.

It really does not matter. My fitness levels are a lot higher than they were a year or even 6 months ago, but there is no way I can compete with other people. You just work at your own pace. As long as it stretches and challenges you and you get a good work out, it is all good.

I am going to have a go at jewellery making one of these days, add it to my bucket list.;)

You should do. It is a lot of fun and very relaxing. It also takes care of presents every now and again. If you do decide to go ahead and need some hints and advice to get started, feel free to give me a holler.

Are all the drinks watered down, or just the free ones? :confused3

Definitely just the free once. All other drinks are very potent. I am already looking forward to the Margaritas at Cove Cafe. I am a bit of a Margarita Connoisseur and the Margaritas there are among the best I have tasted.

.

We bought a package on the EBTA in 2007 and thought it good value compared with buying bottles or glasses individually. If you did not finish a bottle at a meal, you could either take it away with you or finish it the next night when it was back to the next restaurant on your return.

Just googling the choice , I found this -

That gets me every time as well.

Yes, but I cant really do it I dont think, I can do pilates, is it like that? They did have yoga last time I crusied.

Yoga is pretty simple, just not always easy. It involves stretching in various positions ("asanas") with the intention of limbering your spine and working your internal muscles as well as the external ones. I do it in combination with lifting weights, and it's a great complementary exercise. There's a yogic saying: "You are as young as your spine."

I'd suggest you try it. It's both very challenging, and very relaxing (once you're done). The key is to go as far as you can into the positions, but not to do more than you can. At no time should you feel pain, although strain is perfectly OK.

See you there!

Richard

I did my first yoga class about 3 or 4 weeks ago and had a fantastic time. I did not feel any pain at the time, but I was definitely sore for a couple of days after.

I had to push really hard to get all our pictures for our package this time - it really surprised me that several nights they did not have pictures - only characters - it was the captain's reception nights (there were 2) and on the last night I think, and one other night - we dressed all up on my son's birthday to have a picture taken and they were not doing them - went upstairs to Shutters and they were nice enough to come and take our picture by the mickey statue.

That really surprises me. On our Med cruise I had over 200 photos to choose from. Admittedly a lot of them were character photos, but there were loads of photos with different backdrops and green screen and photos from when we were out and about as the photographers were taking photos at certain tourist spots. I found it really hard to choose.

Is the rainforest pass cheaper than buying onboard?

On our Med cruise, they charged USD18 for the one day pass so it looks like it is cheaper online as it is still USD15. We always get the length of cruise pass and make good use of it.

Well, my back ordered purple crystals arrived today and the necklace for Villains night is also complete. I am really pleased with the result. I have also worked out the earring design and hopefully the components that I need for this will arrive tomorrow. Once the whole set is finished, I take another photo and post it here.

Small world, huh? John just started a few months ago taking 50 MCG of Levothyroxine once a day for slightly low thyroid hormone levels. It is more a preventative measure then anything else as he takes no other medications which at 66 1/2 is pretty good, I think.

Yep, small world indeed. John's done well....I've been on thyroxine since I had my dd 22 years ago....the level goes up and down but I'm currently taking 150/200 mcg a day. :rolleyes1 As long as it keeps me well, that's the main thing....

You could give us a tutorial on the cruise :worship::worship:

Look forward to seeing your necklace.

Might be worth buying this on line then .... plus it leaves more OBC for other things if we pay upfront for a few things.

It had occurred to me, especially as there are some easy cruise themed jewellery projects that would be perfect to get a feel for the basic techniques. Still, I think DH will have committed if I take my jewellery making stuff.

They were Ducky ones we first saw on the PC cruise. wow, they move fast and the money flows there. The ones on the normal cruises are so boring after Ducky ones.

::yes:: like you I find the others boring too.

It is easy to get caught up in these "Ducky" auctions. It's soooo easy to raise up that bid number. I spent $1300 at one auction for a couple of "Ducky" lithos. But on the plus side they really look good in my Den!

:scratchin Were you the one I was bidding on then for the double prints that went for like $700? Cheap compared to what I ended up paying. I think I stopped at $1350. But, it does look nice hanging in my downstairs office. :thumbsup2 Plus, the packing was dog gone excellent.

I remember seeing that. In fact a fellow diser on that cruise took a picture of "said" person standing at the rail. Problem was I also was in the picture standing next to her.:eek::eek:

 Ooops, hope I really didn't offend anyone......this wasn't the cruise where the French lady walked around wearing um an "ultra-mini'skirt too? I remember that one caused such a stir. At least with dental floss you expect to see something like that somewhere but cheeks hanging out while your eating. Um, no.

Dennis wound up nose to cheek with one of these in the Rainforest.:rotfl2::lmao:  Except this one needed NO duct tape!! :rolleyes1 This has become one of our favorite DCL stories. :lmao:

 I wanna hear this one.

I did not think I looked that bad:confused3 I appreciate the duct tape suggestion though;)

 Ooopps, ok we were just jealous. :teeth:

Just kidding. It would take more than duck tape to haul up what gravity has gotten a hold of.

Oh you too? I'm afraid that after the Spanx talk, that people will see us and say - ok - if its so high up now, how low can it go? :lmao:

Ok - sorry if I offended anyone. :flower3:

We're at the Le Meridien too (9/16 & 17)!

Here's a little update for all the POTC (and Johnny Depp) fans) pirate::

http://popwatch.ew.com/2010/07/22/c...teases-fourth-pirates-of-the-caribbean-movie/

For the scrapbook exchange, I just want everyone to know I'm a novice and simple scrapbooker so I'm doing my best to think of something. I can't wait to see what all you pros are doing.

Andrea

I am a novice too ..... so I hope your expectations are LOW :rotfl2:

Can't wait for the pirates movie pirate:pirate:pirate:

I work with an awesome team, who do awesome work (hopefully the video will work).

Wow...what a wonderful story! Thank you so much for posting it!

Well...we'll be on our way to there! We fly out in 8 weeks from right now.

Noel, one of mine is for Thyroid too :rolleyes1 Its amazing how common that is.....:confused3
:littleangel:

I'm in the Thyroid club too! I've been taking Synthroid since I was 12 - I'm 30 now. It enjoys varying and messing with my weight (which doesn't need help to be messed with at all). Besides the thyroid problem, I also have PCOS which also makes it very hard to lose weight. I'm going to one my doctor's on Monday and I'm planning on talking to her about my lack of weight loss even though I've been on Weight Watchers and watching my weight for over a year now.

Can't believe we're almost on part 8! :thumbsup2

The minimum age for the tour is 5 just as an FYI.

Oh! Thanks for letting me know! Since my oldest just turned 4 last week guess they wouldn't qualify anyways.

We went to the Disney Store today. My dd is so excited to wear all her new flip flops on the cruise. They were like $1.50 with the extra 20% off today. What a deal! I think she has every color now. Plus, lots of swimsuits and stuff on sale. So, if anyone has one close to them it's a great time to shop!!

Since I'm in the middle of switching from Charter to Verizon Fios, (on my phone) what time does the ship actually depart from Barcelona? By the time I find the answer, someone here will have been able to relay the info.

Is anyone flying in the day of? Working on something and may need to get a last minute flight in.

TIA
