So, I have been involved with a system down issue at work and haven't had a moment to spare, so I have skimmed... I also want to announce that while on a 4 hour conference call I finished 4 of the 6 scrapbooks that I had sitting! I also made the decision to look at doing the last 2 as digital books as I haven't started them. But if i get on another call, who knows...

Well, Let me start off by saying, I know I am a Disney snob.
......
I bet Sue has those details :thumbsup2
...
What you haven't packed yet, what have you been doing? I have had big lists, small lists, sub-lists, mini lists, packing lists, to do lists, shopping lists, FE lists, candy/choc swap lists, special things for people lists, tips lists, wish lists, excursions lists, magnet lists, etc......even lists of lists.........Am I a little nutty?

LOL are any of not Disney Snobs? I know that we are a fmaily of them. We were bored at Universal - just couldn't see what all the fuss was about...

Who me? Have details? LOL Yes - i have them - and I asked for confirmation on Friday but haven't heard back... hopefully Monday!

I have lists for everything. You are not alone!!!

So, if any of the kids has questions about Europe/Germany, they are very welcome to come and talk to me. And ask all their questions.
("No?!? We don't drive on the left side. )

You may find my 13 year old son asking all sorts of questions! He is intrigued by Germany.

Hi,

I tried to update our room number but cant log in any ideas?

I just sent you your password!

If it's not too late, I'd like to participate in the FE exchange. I am doing it on the other boards as well.

Thanks

Info is on page 1!

You normally get dinner after you board the plane before "bed time" and then about an hour before you land they wake you up with a small breakfast - nothing major - but still breakfast.

And while we are on the topic as many of us will be flying from the US to Europe on flights that will have food - consider requesting your children a "children's meal" even if they are older - mine are 13 and 15 and I still request it because they normally do not like the "adult" meal. We will also be bringing us some snacky things in our bag incase we do not like any of the food.

Food is not an isssue on the plane/TSA - you can even have a "carryon" with food that will be consumed onboard and not have it counted against you - I use one of those bags that fold up to the size of the palm of my hand and fill it with foods for the plane ride - then we just get drinks on board or after secruity (we normally buy a water)

Krisann

Thanks for the info!! Stephen is picky so I think a kids meal will be easier to deal with! And I didn't even think of snacks...

LOL I think you guys are so sweet and funny about your DHs. Personally, I'm counting down the days until he goes away - I love, love, love having the house to myself. I take over the entire bed and plan on watching something chick flicky.
...
Personally, I'm always hopeful for an "all chocolate" meal but alas no...

Which reminds me, I must get some chocs to take on the flight - many of the vegetarian meals don't come with dessert - what the heck is wrong with these people? :rotfl2:

I am the one that travels occasionally for work. I miss everyone starting the second night. That first night I crank the AC so it ges really chilly and then I sleep in the MIDDLE of the bed... LOL!! It is nice to have some space that the kids don't seek out...

Im up for the chocolate meal... And funny, i too thought vegetarian = no meat not no dessert...:rotfl2:

A couple of tips for those of you who haven't travelled far with kids before.
*Order the kids meal, it is a good sized meal and it gets brought out before everyone else's meals, that way you can get the kids organised and fed before your own meal comes out.
* Don't give them too many sugary snacks, there is not a lot of room to burn of sugar on the plane, LOL!
* Keep them up late the night before the flight, make them tired, it is easier if the kids can sleep on the plane.
* Bring stuff for them to do, colouring-in, journals, etc....I do bring my kids Nintendo's and iPhones but limit the time on them, they are so stimulating they would play them for hours!
* If your airline doesn't supply blankets, bring one, it can be cold on board, the blanket is comforting and can also be used to block light. Also a squishy small pillow is great.
* For younger kids, bring their favourite toy, or whatever helps settle them. Don't even think about trying to cut down on luggage and not bring it! But, don't leave it on the plane!

My kids travel very well, but I have seen many tantrums and unsettled kids on planes, It's not pleasant for anyone, so I say "whatever works" to keeps the kids calm! :thumbsup2

More great tips! You are earning the Momma Bear title!! :lmao::lmao::rotfl2::rotfl2::lmao::lmao:

Well, Let me start off by saying, I know I am a Disney snob.
So, we took the kids to Warner Bros Movie World today (we just bought an annual pass to MW, Seaworld and Wet n'Wild waterpark, as we live 20 minutes from all of them). Honestly, I know we have been spoilt by Disney, but seriously....is that the best they can do at Movie World, It was tragic. I might be being a little harsh, but I just couldn't help comparing to Disney, anyway, the kids enjoy the rides, and since it is less than 5 mins from home, it will be easy to pop over for a couple of hours anytime. One positive....Scooby Doo is very cute!

It was me, don't worry, we definitely make up for it every time we travel, I don't know how many more Minnie's Bella can fit in her room, she's already reminding me she doesn't have a 'sailor minnie'! :rotfl: And I have to admit, I kinda like her Minnie room too! :thumbsup2

I am a Disney snob - I won't see non-Disney animated movies. I've never seen any of the Shrek movies, Ice Age, Kung Fu Panda - none of them. I'm strictly Disney! :thumbsup2

I actually bought my sister a Sailor Minnie on my first cruise. She loves Eeyore, but there was no Pooh & Friends product on board so she got a Minnie instead.

I haven't even thought about packing yet...I know I'm way behind! LOL!!!!

I just found out that a very good friend of mine is probably going to lose her house. She lost her job several years ago and hasn't been able to find a full time job in over a year. She has exhausted all of the unemployment she can get and no one will hire her. She applied at Taco Bell and McDonald's...they told her she was over qualified and wouldn't hire her. It breaks my heart and what makes it even worse is that she lives in Florida so I can't even really help her out. It's breaking my heart and I'm not sure what to do besides just being there to support her, even if it is long-distance.

I too look forward to some alone time when my DH is gone. Then I don't have to listen to his snoring and all of the loud music while he continues to set up his speakers. (this has been going on for months):lmao: Of course, this is what being married for 41 years does to one person!!!

So sorry to hear this. :grouphug: Times are just so bad with unemployment. Our prayer lists are just so full of these kinds of troubles. :sad2: Offering her a shoulder and emotional support is a good thing.

I agree with you on this one.

Mrs. Mork how did DH's study go? Did he get a new mask? I assume he is home safe and sound in your arms.

I thought about the children's meal for DS10, but I was worried about it being a smaller meal and he wouldn't get enough to eat. What do you think?

I have found that even if it is a little smaller (can't remember the size exactly) that they will have more to eat with a kids meal than with the adult meal because they will actually eat it! Bring some snacks along and you are good to go!

I am not going to take a tour because I have been to Barcelona before so I want to head straight to the ship and relax!! Takes me a while to settle down from the flight and not sleeping and everything else. I will just be glad that I landed and SEE the ship!!!

We will have been in Europe for a week by the time we get to Barcelona and it is only a 2 hour flight from Amsterdam to Barcelona - so we should be good to go for a tour - but totally understand if you are flying over and landing that day. We actually fly out on 9-11 and I am not sure yet if that is a good thing or bad thing :(

I have a friend in the same situation - has a college degree in computers and no one will hire her because of what you stated also! it is very discouraging!

Buckeye Gal - Kimberley.* Dis won't send my PM because I haven't posted enough! Rene

Just go and post on a few other threads... you will be up to 10 posts before you know it!!!

I reckon if I lose some more weight from now, then what I am now will be what I soon will be into the cruise, so clothes that fit now will be great!!!!* Now, what to do about my size by the end of the cruise!!!!:rotfl2:

Oprah says Elastic...

That's John!!! How funny. I just mentioned it is 10 weeks today to the cruise and he said 'crumbs'. I did sense a slightly higher tone of voice, so perhaps that is excitement!!!!!!:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:Good job we understand them isn't it?

I still don't understand you... :rotfl2:

Well it is 9 weeks on Tuesday till we set off!!!

About 7 1/2 weeks... think I should book??? :lmao:

Well I heard that Villains is a regular dress night not a formal or semi formal....so probably we will not make the vests (the vests I make are tux fests that have no back...like the inexpensive/easy ones you can rent----so they won't look good without the full get up).* On the up side, however, Jason and I do have coordinating Disney Villain ties already that have many villains on them (although the color scheme is more red and black than purple, but I'm sure they'll still work).

Do you know how to make a bow tie?

I just ordered our Mickey Mouse Club T-shirts.* :woohoo: We also have the First Class seat on the way!

I'm thinking of taking mom first class!!! I think she deserves it... :thumbsup2

Hi, K! This is the Bob half of Valbob, and Valerie usually does the board work. We have gone through the TSA trials a lot. Take disposable "spring water" type bottles, and if you haven't finished them by the time you reach the inspection area, pour out the water. You can refill the bottle from a drinking fountain. We do it every time. Also, don't remember whether it was you or another writer, but if the flight isn't late night, you can buy things in the secure side of the airport -- expensive, but cheaper and more selection than on the plane.

We used to show our military Retired Reserve (and dependent) IDs to the guards, thinking that would prove we were legit (this was 2001-2003). We were pulled aside EVERY TIME for frisking and full inspection. I guess they thought we wouldn't gripe (they were right) and they could meet their quotas. It was worst in John Wayne Airport (near Disneyland). Now we use passports only.

Reminds me: Price of passports goes up next week!:scared: Go to the Post Office Monday if you need new/renewal PP. Walgreens stores take PP photos for about half the price that Post Office does.

What, me cheap?

Hi Angie! :flower3:

Hi there! :cutie:
I agree with you on this one.

Mrs. Mork how did DH's study go? Did he get a new mask? I assume he is home safe and sound in your arms.

They did send him home with a brand new mask. :) He was treated very well and hopefully when the nurse calls about the results we will be able to convince them to send us a RX that we can use to purchase a travel CPAP as well. He said that they only ran the testing for a few hours then hooked him up and let him sleep with their cpap for the rest of the night. They were able to get all the info they needed in a short time.

About 7 1/2 weeks... think I should book??? :lmao:

I'm thinking of taking mom first class!!! I think she deserves it... :thumbsup2

Yes, you should book! And...we are not actually flying first class :rotfl2: I just ordered that blow up thing that is called a first class seat or something like that. Hopefully it will make sleeping sitting up a bit easier. :confused3 But, if you'd like we can adopt you as our Disney kid also and you could upgrade us to real first class....you know we deserve it too!!

LINKED EARLY DINING

Just a reminder that I need the primary name and ressie number in order to link our dining. Looks like I just need to hear from alexandmaddie, SandieDVC, Grmmybtty, and Hoagie Pie (I know yours is coming!).

Also, if anyone else would like to join the group for early dining please let me know.

I love Playmobil. It wasn't around for our children, but our grandchildren have all had some and loved it. Two of the families have different Advent Calendars and they come out each year. I think they are worth the money and very cute. A park would be fantastic to visit with a little one.

For years I bought my kids and then grandkids chocolate advent calendars. Then I started with the Playmobil ones and they loved them. I have always been a dollhouse fan and love miniatures so I really love the detail that Playmobil puts into their toys. I have several sets of them to keep the grandkids entertained and try to get new ones every couple of months to keep them interested. They provide hours of play fun. Tru

There really isn't anything you can do except what you are doing, and that's just being there with a shoulder to cry on and some word of encouragement. :flower3:

More great tips! You are earning the Momma Bear title!!

Good onya, you need a few more conference calls and you'll be all ready with your WBTA book. I really wish there was a good digital scrapbooking program that works on a MAC, anyone know of one?

Nope, you definitely take out the Momma Bear title! I'm just training :rotfl:

Stephanie and I headed off to Baltimore so very excited to see our friends that we have known for a long time that post on the DDA thread. We were also looking forward to meeting Becky's brother. We went to a really big mall for some shopping first. We hit the Disney Store and I found some great buys. Had to pick up a birthday gift for one of the other grandsons as well as gifts for the newborn and his two brothers. Then I went and tried on some new sneakers that are supposed to help in exercise. They felt weird but I know I need a new pair so I bought them. That is my story and I am sticking to it!!!:lmao:

On the way down, we used my GPS and I kept telling Stephanie that if she tells us to turn right but stay left, we gotta do what Rhonda says. (DH and I had to give her a name.) Well, she was a little frustrating today cause if the exit had an A or B she would say both letters and it seemed to take us around the Baltimore airport instead of a more straight route. At least she didn't have to 'recalculate' once :lmao:

So on the way home, we used Stephanie's I-phone. Hers gave a more direct route but at every exit would tell us to stay left and did not give enough warning to get over to take a certain exit. Hers also lets her know if she is going over the speed limit by a certain amount. So every 5 miles or so, you could hear Stephanie telling her phone to 'shut up':rotfl:

So since I live in a very rural location, her gps kept trying to get us back on the right track when I knew exactly where we were going. It got so frustrated that as we were turning onto the road going up to my street, the system said.................

"Please turn,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,(pregnant pause)..........soon :lmao::lmao:

I literally thought I was gonna pee my pants.

How does the Atkins work? Tru

I haven't done it, Last time I tried to do one of those low carb diets I got really sick with my dodgy gallbladder. Lot's of my friend have done it and lost alot of weight.

If you google it you will find mountains of info, Not sure if I'm allowed to post a link, so I won't, but just google it! :thumbsup2
