I couldn't wait anymore. I called DCL yesterday, they said that our air had been booked. Air info was already closed. I called Delta - nothing. I decided to call American. :woohoo:

We are on American Airlines. We leave Chicago-O'Hare on the 16th to JFK, then we are on the 7:00 (Flight 152) to Barcelona. We arrive at 8:45 a.m.

Anybody with us?

Okay I know I am late in this planning... But for the kids.. I was thinking of things that would make them get schooling with fun. How about if they talk to someone. They can get a quick lesson in geography.. Like someone from Ny meets someone from VA then they get a post card with the state or city. I know it is more to pack but when the kids go back to school they will have good memories to share. Or we could give out a world map and then put stickers on it. Just ideas anyone with children school age want to do this?

What exactly were you thinking? I could make DS12 and DS10 participate.

Rain!!! My grass is turning green as I watch. Seriously. :goodvibes:goodvibes

Today is going to be a great shopping day. I have come to the conclusion that I am not going to lose 50 pounds in the next 10 weeks, so I may as well find a swimsuit that fits now. If I lose 50 pounds the suit will just be a little loose.:)

I am also thinking I should start thinking about my pirate attire. Disney Store here I come!pirate:pirate:pirate:

Also going to get my fish extender gifts into bags. And pick up tolietries. Also starting to put things in a clothes hamper that I know I need to take, like my toothbrush charger. Getting together all of the video camera cables. Going to buy film. Yes, I was just going to take video with my camera, but after seeing the movies on you tube, I now know I'm taking my entire digital arsenal with me. :rotfl: Hey if not now, when????

Putting new batteries in all my remotes. Might even bring my tripod. Know I'm bringing the little gorilla tripod. Okay, let's get this day started!!!!:dance3::dance3::dance3::dance3:

Thanks for the reminder on the gorilla pod. I have a packing list but we bought a gorilla pod about a year ago and that never made it to the packing list. Time to start updating the packing list!

I am excited to see that I am not the lone person anymore coming in on Saturday of the cruise - CandyApple and HoagiePie get in 10 minutes before me!

How are you all going to the port - I have not decided yet - even thinking of doing a "private" driving tour of Barcelona for an hour or 2 before heading to the port - not sure!

Krisann

We booked DCL air which includes transfers. I figure with an 8:55 arrival, by the time we deplane, freshen up, and make it through customs, it will time to go to the port. We'll just have to figure out some breakfast, though.

That's John!!! How funny.

I just mentioned it is 10 weeks today to the cruise and he said 'crumbs'. I did sense a slightly higher tone of voice, so perhaps that is excitement!!!!!!:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Good job we understand them isn't it?

LOL def!

I just ordered our Mickey Mouse Club T-shirts. :woohoo: We also have the First Class seat on the way!

Corinna - i love your jewellery.

Hayley - I think we are in the same hotel. We can walk through the lobby alternatively singing Disney tunes and giving rousing calls of Aussie, Aussie Aussie, Oi, Oi, Oi..... Should make us popular.

Has anyone checked out the pictures of DCL food recently? umm so yummy! i'm thinking no eating from now until the cruise and then try everything!

PinUpdate!!!!

We have reached 100 pins so we can order the pins.
In order to have our pins on time for our Transantlantic Cruise, we must order the pins by Jul 22.

The pins cost 4,50 Euro each. You can pay the money for the pins on Noel's paypal or on Patrick's paypal account.

Since the cost for people who live in America is less if you pay on Noel account, you may choose to pay through her. Then, she will send the money to Patrick's account.

If you are going to pay Noel, you must first determine how much the dollar is versus the Euro. In order to determine how much 4.5 Euros, you must first attempt to make order of 4.5 Euros to determine how much to pay Noel. Do not complete this order. You are only using this method to determine how much the actual dollar cost is pay in Euros. Then you can pay Noel the actual dollar amount which she will transfer to Patrick in Euros in your name.

As with the Euros transfer, please use a Personal transfer and say it is a gift to avoid fees to be charged to the recipient.

Noel's paypalaccount is birkner@needinfo.com

Patrick's paypalaccount is p.vanmaaren@chello.nl

Please send your money to one of us with your both your DIS name and your email address before 21 July so we can order the pins on time and in the numbers of pins we want.

If all the money is received before that time, we will not be able to order the pins at that price, so it is critical that all the money be collected before that time.

Connie will take the pins with her on the Cruise and hand them out on the first Dismeet or if you are not going to the meet, she can arrange to meet you in the boarding area in Barcelona.

Noel and Connie

I will send this also to you're PMbox.

Money has been sent. Thanks for doing this!!!! :yay::yay:

You should have a breakfast on the Transatlantic flight, but perhaps not very much, and perhaps not to your taste. But, it might keep you going for a while. Hopefully there will be a coffee shop in the arrivals area of the airport.

Too busy with the pre-wedding plans here for my nephew here in Santa Rosa to catch up.

Just a quick reminder:

People paying me need to put a message in the comment section on PayPal as to what their DIS names is, how many pins they want and where they will pick up the pins.

If you have all ready paid and have not given me this information, please send me in either a PM or email what is your DIS names, how many pins you want and where will pick you up the pins.

Thanks for your cooperation.

Hi, this is Connie, (cquick). Didn't you get an accessible room for this cruise? I hope you did. We are still hoping to get an outside accessible....spending 2 weeks in an inside will certainly be a challenge!

I know the Disney excursions are not accessible. We are going to do private tours so that we can take Patrick a few places. Are you interested in joining us?

Are you doing B2B? I have almost decided on the tour company I want to use for Rome and Florence.

Please let me know.

Connie:grouphug:

Nope not doing B2B :( wanted to but Hubby can not get the time off. So did not even check :)

Yes I do have a room after making a payment after we got the letter that said they would guarantee an accessible room they upgraded us to and 8 inside window.

Have you stay in the cat 11 accessible room. It us huge really it is huge. If you want pics let me know. I was kinda sad to get a inside window cause the room looks so small compared. But then again we have never stayed anywhere other than an 11 rofl.

Yes we too are hoping for a balcony but I think it is slim to none lol.

Since you are doing b2b you have a much better shot :)

Glenn and I are thinking about doing the Madeira trip. It is just too hard to decide since I never know how my walking can be. It goes from not bad to terrible rofl. And I tired a lot.

Isn't it just sad that Disney makes no effort to help people who have mobility issues get on tours. They are just not good at this area at all. if you come up with any for the trans let us know :) thanks

Don't think UK should change currency to Euro!

Helps if you quote what you are replying to!

When I talked to Delta, the rep said we get dinner, but didn't mention breakfast, so I assumed we wouldn't get anything. DS12 needs gluten free and dairy free meals. Delta has a gluten free option which she marked on the ressie for him for dinner. When it comes closer to the time, I'll call and ask specifically what the meal entails to check on whether it has any dairy. She didn't mention breakfast, but maybe they consider that a "snack" and don't have the gluten free option. I'm planning on taking extra food for him just in case, but it is hard to do this with the liquids/gels restriction. I may need to double check the TSA website about this.

The cereal bars are great for transporting, but not sure if you can get any gluten free ones. I do know airlines have been cutting down on the smaller of the meals, often cutting it out for the shorter routes, but I am sure there should be something.

We have pre-wedding plans here also. Our son is getting married on July 25. He lives in Florida (WDW cast member) but is getting married here.

If it's not too late, I'd like to participate in the FE exchange. I am doing it on the other boards as well.

Thanks

You normally get dinner after you board the plane before "bed time" and then about an hour before you land they wake you up with a small breakfast - nothing major - but still breakfast.

And while we are on the topic as many of us will be flying from the US to Europe on flights that will have food - consider requesting your children a "children's meal" even if they are older - mine are 13 and 15 and I still request it because they normally do not like the "adult" meal. We will also be bringing us some snacky things in our bag incase we do not like any of the food.

Food is not an isssue on the plane/TSA - you can even have a "carryon" with food that will be consumed onboard and not have it counted against you - I use one of those bags that fold up to the size of the palm of my hand and fill it with foods for the plane ride - then we just get drinks on board or after secruity (we normally buy a water)

Only 4 pages overnight, whats going on? I am hoping everyone is too busy cruise planning!

Today is going to be a great shopping day. I have come to the conclusion that I am not going to lose 50 pounds in the next 10 weeks, so I may as well find a swimsuit that fits now. If I lose 50 pounds the suit will just be a little loose.:)

Sounds like a fun day, cruise days are always fun days! I have the spare bedroom taken over by cruise 'stuff', DH and the kids have started calling it the 'cruise room' :rotfl:
Good luck with the swimsuit and pirate costume :thumbsup2

What is 'footy'?
Sounds like a serious case of listmania to me.

'Footy' is short for football. Not soccer, as we call that 'soccer'. Our 'footy' is the Australian Football League or Aussie Rules. Similar to Rugby League. That's about all I can tell you, cause I don't watch it, DH watches while I DIS!!! ;)

I def have Listamania, there is actually a planning book called Listamania, I think I need it! :rotfl:

I reckon if I lose some more weight from now, then what I am now will be what I soon will be into the cruise, so clothes that fit now will be great!!!!

Now, what to do about my size by the end of the cruise!!!!:rotfl2:

I'll be the one that looks like a sausage bursting out of her clothes by the end of the cruise! :lmao:

Thats a good point .... elasticated waists for the last few days !!!!
I will try and be fairly good on the first cruise week .... mostly fruit for breakfast and salad and no bread at lunchtime. On the second cruise week I will have NO LIMITATIONS !!!! BRING IT ON !!!!! :yay::yay: I will need the extra insulation as we have the UK winter to look forward to on our return.
Hmmmm, elasticated waists, or drawstring.......must start looking for them!
I like your plan, except.......I will do your second week plan on week 1 and 2 :lmao::lmao::lmao:

Well I heard that Villains is a regular dress night not a formal or semi formal....so probably we will not make the vests (the vests I make are tux fests that have no back...like the inexpensive/easy ones you can rent----so they won't look good without the full get up). On the up side, however, Jason and I do have coordinating Disney Villain ties already that have many villains on them (although the color scheme is more red and black than purple, but I'm sure they'll still work).

You are so organised, I am really looking forward to checking out your daily 'get-up'. :rainbow:

Hayley - I think we are in the same hotel. We can walk through the lobby alternatively singing Disney tunes and giving rousing calls of Aussie, Aussie Aussie, Oi, Oi, Oi..... Should make us popular.

Has anyone checked out the pictures of DCL food recently? umm so yummy! i'm thinking no eating from now until the cruise and then try everything!

Sounds like a plan....Aussie, Aussie, Aussie, Oi, Oi, Oi!!! :mickeyjum:goofy::donald:
Oh, the food porn is amazing.....the creme brulee makes my mouth water!

Oh, we did see Catwomen, and I did notice Terry slowed right down, I asked if he wanted a photo, he said no, but I wasn't convinced, maybe he wanted more than a photo ................Too sexy for Disney!

In the photo with Catwoman, Robert looks decidedly guilty and furtive - I don't even want to know what he's was thinking. Its a similar look he gets when he sees Ariel in her shell bikini top... :rotfl2:

I do that too if Mark ever has to be away (not often as I go with him usually), I sleep with his t shirt because it smells of him. :lovestruc It may be silly to some but we know it works eh?

LOL I think you guys are so sweet and funny about your DHs. Personally, I'm counting down the days until he goes away - I love, love, love having the house to myself. I take over the entire bed and plan on watching something chick flicky.

I'd actually recommend "special meals" to everyone - they aren't so mass produced and you typically get served first. Some airlines have better selections than others. I know when I order my vegetarian meal, that airlines such as Singapore offer a selection of vegetarian types (depends on route) but asian vegetarian, indian vegetarian etc.

For those that like to eat lightly, there is often a fruit only meal too.

Personally, I'm always hopeful for an "all chocolate" meal but alas no...

Which reminds me, I must get some chocs to take on the flight - many of the vegetarian meals don't come with dessert - what the heck is wrong with these people? :rotfl2:
