If you are catching the DCL buses they drop off at Terminal C. On the last TA they included a free tour of Barcelona but I'm not sure they are doing this or not now! It probably was around 20 mins to the port but the tour took an hour!

Thanks for the info about the port. We're arriving at 7:55 and hoping to the do the hop-on-hop-off bus tour. Does anyone know what time we are "probably" going to be able to start boarding? I know all aboard is 4:00... Thanks!

Hey Everyone,

I can't keep up with you chatty cathy's----it's like 12 pages in less than 36 hours....ridiculous! :lmao:

Anyhow, just checking in and saying thanks to all who donated/supported or asked about the AIDS Walk. We ended up with really great (a little muggy) weather for the walk and Jason and I walked at a nice brisk pace and finished walk of just over 3 miles in about 45 minutes...so a nice workout without killing ourselves.

The best news....the event (which was smaller than in years past becuase of some big organizational changes at my agency---which sponsored/benefitted from the event) brought in just over $52,000-----and I brought in almost $2900 of that myself---making me the top fundraising walker of the day and my team (which inlcluded 5 of my coworkers) the top fundraising team for the day.

Great Job Erik and Jason!!! Sounds like you had fun and quick walking too!

Wow, what a great and successful walk. Congratulations to both you and Jason. DH John and I are sponsoring a friends team for the July 18 walk in San Francisco.

You can do two people...one in front and the other behind.....it is great!! I have done it several times and LOVE it! So quiet up there and you can see the whole island.....they also "dip" you into the water before getting back on the boat.....just your feet, nothing to worry about. I have some pics, I will try to find them.

Yep, looks great. fun fun fun.

up up and away..

can't wait

.....A few years ago I hated myself, I never bought anything for myself...Len is so sweet, he encourages me cause he knows that I feel so much better about me now that I am more than a hundred pounds lighter. So to get to the point I may just be tempted...

That's so sweet of Len to recognize that!! What a great prince you have!! That's awesome that you have made that weight loss achievement, too! :woohoo:

....Annette just canceled hers so now im getting a full massage instead. I know she will want the dooney and burke instead.

Oh girls!! I smell some smoking feet running down to Treasure Ketch around 9:30 pm on September 18 for another DIS Meets!!

Sounds like you have tons of stuff planned, but there is a place in Orlando that not too many people talk about and it is so much fun.... they have a Titanic exhibit that is phenomenal.....

Oh that sounds incredible! I would really enjoy that!

COSI, our science museum here in Columbus, currently has its second run of "Titanic- The Artifact Exhibition". I have a membership there, but I've been waiting for my mom to come here so we can go together. I've heard wonderful reviews of it. I've heard that they even have actors there to interact with you, and you also learn at the end of the tour if you were a survivor. This exhibition has artifacts that have never been on display anywhere else, so I'm anxious to see it! I'm also now curious to see how it differs from the one you have in Orlando, Sandi. Yours sounds pretty incredible!

It sounds like the same thing - you will have so much fun. Remember, just because you are a girl, doesn't mean you live :rotfl: Glad you had fun last night at your friends concert. Sounded like a great time.

Thats a lot of dosh, well done.

I hope you all are having/have had a good Sunday! It's just beautiful here in Columbus with a breeze and nearly chilly 70F degrees. Funny how 70 degrees is so warm in March, but not in June! :rotfl:

I'm sure the golfers at Muirfield aren't happy with the wind, but no doubt they're happy to see blue skies. We've had a lot of rain and thunderstorms this week for their practice rounds. So if you're watching the Memorial Tournament today, know I'm just down the street from them as I live in Dublin, too, so I'm waving back at you! In fact, I see the blimp outside my living room window!

Just wanted to mention that I noticed on Zazzle's site that they have two versions of the Mickey Mouse Club t-shirt. One looks like the one Todd posted, which is identical to the one on Disney's site, and Zazzle also has a second, a less dazzling one, that does not have the "Member" and "1956" reference. The screenprint on the second one is also different in color.

If you are in the US (not sure about Canada), here are ways to save money on your order....
www.DisneyStore.com:

  • Free shipping of entire order with purchase of adult clothing or accessories.
PROMO CODE: KIDatHEART; expires June 8
  • Utilize rebate sites like MrRebates.com or Ebates.com to get a 5% rebate return on your purchase. I use these sites all the time. It's great "free" money"! Just note that you have to go to these rebates sites first, and then link to DisneyStore.com directly from their site in order to get the credit.

For those of you planning to participate in the matching Mickey Mouse Club t-shirts, I have more news to share.

I got distracted on Friday when I was going to make my purchase, so I just got around to making it. Here were my discoveries:

I ended up buying through Zazzle.com for the following reasons:

1) I found the KIDatHEART free shipping code at DisneyStore.com didn't work for that t-shirt alone. I tried several times, but it wouldn't work for me. :confused3
2) I didn't check this before my previous post on Friday, but today I discovered that Zazzle is a merchant participant with MrRebates.com. You get 13% of your purchase at Zazzle back! Just remember that you have to go to MrRebates and access the merchant from their site in order to get the rebate.
3) During my discovery of Zazzle at MrRebates, they noted a code for 10% off t-shirts (discount code TSHIRTS10OFF) that I applied with no problem.

Oh...one more thing. When I saw the 10% code, I also noticed that they had a 15% off coupon code for business cards (BIZCARDSAVE1). So I bought those, too, to pass out on the cruise. I put my own pictures (3) on it (front and back) as well as details like email addy and Facebook URL. With the coupon code and the rebate, I didn't think $12.57 + S&H was bad for 100 double-sided, colored business cards!

...AIDS Walk....The best news....the event... brought in just over $52,000-----and I brought in almost $2900 of that myself---making me the top fundraising walker of the day and my team (which inlcluded 5 of my coworkers) the top fundraising team for the day.

wow! well done to you both :cool1:

Kimberly - regarding clubhouse shirts:

1) which shirt did you choose?
2) were you able to put your name on the back?
3) were you able to choose a font and if so which one and what size?

Thanks!!

  1. I just chose style "Basic T-Shirt" for mine (no colored bands like seen on Destin's shirt) with the same graphic that Todd posted. As previously noted, there is another similar circular graphic, but it omits some of the words and has some different coloring.
  2. Yes, I put my name on the back. I choose to put it in all caps. Annette Funicello used all caps on her shirt, so I did too!
  3. My choice for font was Impress BT. There were a couple of others that I debated, but that's what I ended up with. Since my name is longer than some, I went with the 19 point font size. I can see how a larger font would be fun for shorter names though.

Just wanted to ask for some ideas and suggestions. Since we have so many creative people on here. Thought I'd ask you guys....

My oldest daughter is having a Relay For Life Team next Saturday and her booth theme is Carnival. If anyone has any creative ideas for games I would  to hear them. So far we have the standard tic-tac-toe game, magnetic darts, and someone suggested a Find-the-right-key door game.

Thank you in Advance for any help....you all are so wonderful.

Have a wonderful day - going to check out for a while...got me some hunting to do (as in carnival games)

Ring toss with bottles. There is also the pick a duck game. Where you try to pick the duck that has a prize written under it.

Will keep thinking:headache:

Usually I don't like to spend money on spa treatments, but I might splurge on myself this trip.

I'm with everone Monica - SPLURGE!!!:)

We like to do a tour in the morning and then explore on our own later in the day.

Ann

We do too. I feel like we get to see "educational" stuff early and then play time later. (shopping) LOL - no surprise here but DH hates it. But as we all know, - he's just along for the ride. :rotfl2:

One of the most popular Carnival games in Germany is where you make a pyramid out of cans and then people throw a ball at it trying to knock them all over.

Corinna

OH! Thanks Corinna - forgot all about that. :worship:

One of the carnival games I like is the balloons and you throw darts at them. I don't know if you can use "darts" nowadays with kids, but it was always fun back in the day.

There is also where you toss a coin onto a plate and if it stays you win a prize. Not as dangerous as darts. I LOVE carnival games and have it for my Wii.

THought about the balloon game but the girls are eco-friendly and unfortunately, balloons aren't so we nixed balloons HOWEVER.....the coin toss plate is AWESOME. Thank you! :worship:

We are at BCV until 10/6 then home :) A carnival game that easy to do is with the rubber ducks. You number a couple of them and who ever pulls out a numbered duck, gets a prize.

Erik & Jason- how did the walk go today? I thought of you around 10 when I was getting ready to go get my text books. Don't get me started on that racket!!!

Annette :)

Damn! I just got rid of all my rubber duckies! That would have been a perfect item!!!

I have done WW before and liked it. It is easy and flexible. It is too expensive though so I am doing it from my materials from last time. The weigh in I don't really need. DH and I are keeping each other accountable...

I'd like to lose about 12-15lbs before the cruise. I find it very difficult to lose weight so we shall see. Thanks for the encouragement!

Had friends do WW one in Sept and in 60 days lost an amazing amt of weight. 5 months laters - she had dropped 30 lbs. Had one start in Jan and she lost 27 lbs. I haven't had permanent success but I've only done it once. It did help me lost 12 lbs but I gained it back over years. Now I'm still big but am seriously considering starting back up. I don't even have my old paperwork so I may as well consider myself a newbie.

Oh, Mine is really fast....It just goes backwards!!! :lmao:

I haven't tried WW, Jenny Craig yes, but not WW. Good Luck, keep us updated! And cherries are yummy!

If it was bad news about my health I would think - Oh well, may as well make the most of the time I have left, Pass me a Mickey bar.

If it was good news about my health I would think - Great, I'm in good health, I can afford to splurge, Pass me a Mickey bar.
So really, doesn't matter either way! :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

This is too funny! I  it and to show you the way I think - that would be my way of thinking too. :lmao:

The Dooney is a given for me. I was already a Dooney girl, now with the Disney Dooney's I'm in even more trouble.

OMG!!! THERE'S A DISNEY DOONEY PURSE? WHERE? HOW MUCH? I NEED ONE!!!!!

:thumbsup2 OHHH boy!! I hear ya!! That's budgeted into my souvenir list, too! However, I fear that they will be out of the Med/European version by the time we get onboard. THAT is what would make a real souvenir of our cruise. :goodvibes I know they're going to have a standard DCL design, but I want the one with the international flags on it. FINGERS CROSSED!!!

PICTURES!!! I NEED PICTURES!!!!!!

(said as she's foaming at the mouth)

Any body doing anything exciting tonight?
(please mind I am at work so dont post anything too exciting to me me jealous)

I did something fun! I went and got new glasses! Here they are:

Corinna - it sounds interesting, but was it depressing and did you feel guilty eating or drinking after that? I am not asking to be funny because I would love to do it, but think it would be an eye-opener and not really wanting to eat or drink for the rest of the trip.

No, not at all. We both gave up coffee as a result and I gave up Diet Coke, both of which were changes that were long overdue. Other than that, we carried on enjoying eating and drinking onboard

Gus and I did it last year and really didn't like it. In fact, it was the only thing about the cruise that we complained about. Everything we were told seemed like common sense to us and we really didn't learn anything new. Everyone we know that did it were told they had great metabolic rates, even when some of us knew we did not. Also, they really pushed their supplement products on us and once we were done the whole thing felt like one big informercial. Anyhow, there was someone in our Dis Group that had a different person and really loved it so everyone has a different experience and I wouldn't tell anyone not to do it but we were really disappointed.

We had Mitch from Australia and he was great. He asked at the beginning if we were interested in finding out about detox programmes and we told him that we had attended the detox seminar on our last cruise and were not interested. That was the last of this. I did three years of nutrition at college and a lot of what he was talking about was familiar from my course and made perfect sense. I learned some new stuff as well though.

Are there really NO Palo slots available ..... :scared1::scared1:

Oops, I forgot a word. It is Palo tea we are after and for which by the looks of things no slots are available.

There were plenty of dinner reservations, and still some brunch ones I think. But, you will get them onboard if you go straight to Rocking Bar D or whatever it is called!!!

We have definitely decided against brunch and pretty much decided against dinner. We might change our mind when we get on board and see our rotation and the definite order of the menus. There is a slight chance that we will try to get dinner on the Lumiere rotational night.

Does it still include the Posture Analysis? I did it with a personal training thing on the 11 night SC cruise a few years back as I wanted the posture analysis. I drop my one hip when I stand so got loads of strengthening exercises to try and lift my one hip. Im better than I was but still drop it which is why I get bad backs. That was veryt interesting!

No, this one didn't, but they do other stuff as well that might well include the posture analysis. This would be even more interesting.

Theyll open more slots on the 20th Corinna, according to DCL anyway! They only release a certain amount of Palo slots at each opening so I would be inclined to try just incase.

Same for those not able to book on the 5th - meant to mention this yesterday Eric!

This is either new or one of those cases where you get a different answer depending who you speak to. I asked this very question before our first cruise in 2008 and was told that all slots are released when the first group can book. Indeed, I managed to log on at midnight on the dot at 75 days out and there was no Palo reservation to be had. We waitlisted as soon as we got on the ship, but were never called. I was less than impressed when on the last morning table mates turned up that had not been to a single dinner and they explained the reason they had not been there was that they had eaten at Palo every night.

Sounds like you have tons of stuff planned, but there is a place in Orlando that not too many people talk about and it is so much fun - and this is a DCL disboard so I am not being sarcastic, but they have a Titanic exhibit that is phenomenal. It is on I-Drive and I am sure you can google it. They give you a name of a passenger and throughout the whole museum, you are that person. They take you on Deck of when the boat sank, and it is just as cold, you get to feel the iceberg. At the end, they have the artifacts from the Titanic and you look on a huge board and find out if you were a passenger or crew and if you lived or died. We took Abby several years ago and it was a blast. Abby was so confident she lived because she was a woman, but it turned out she died because she was a maid. We laughed - I mean the situation isn't funny, but it was a good family time and you get to experience the entire thing. You get to walk up the gangplank, just like on the cruise and everything. Okay, that is my 2 cents - I will go back to reading the boards.

We went to this when it was still in its original location at the Mercado and loved it. I would definitely recommend this. Mind you, it is a good job that you would be going after the cruise as you might not want to get on a ship after visiting this attraction. They are really managing to bring history to life.

That looks so much fun, wish I was brave enough!:thumbsup2

I am the biggest scaredy cat there is and I am terrified of heights. My limit for having my feet of the ground is about 6 inches. I cannot get on a ladder at all. Yet, I was fine parasailing and had a wonderful time.

Thanks for the info about the port. We're arriving at 7:55 and hoping to the do the hop-on-hop-off bus tour. Does anyone know what time we are "probably" going to be able to start boarding? I know all aboard is 4:00... Thanks!

When we did our Med cruise, they started boarding around 11:45. We were group 9 and were at Parrot Cay by 12:15.
