Thanks Marilyn! Went into complete panic mode!

Hello everyone.
Sorry its been such a long time since I posted.
You guys go through the pages at such a fast pace I wouldnt have been
able to keep up. I have looked in from time to time though.

Carl and I have booked one of the Med cruises in May with the money I have saved with quitting smoking (9 months). Anyway we have had to concentrate on that because there are lot of ports and we are trying to decide what to do on a budget !!.

Anyway excuses over, I would love to start to join in with you all on a regular basis from now on.

I/we are on the role call, but our details again ....
Me Jan
Hubbie Carl
Late dining
Cabin 6078
Cruised once before on the Magic.

For the question about Formal night :- I love dressing up, I have already bought two new dresses and Carl has bought a Tux. So yes we will be.

Anyway enough said dont want to bore you. :)
Jan

Hi Jan! Well done in the quitting smoking and the cruise!

Post 7 has loads of info about activities etc

I heard a few times that people don't really dress up for the formal nights on DCL. That's fine, it's your vacation so you should wear what you feel comfortable in.

But i really wanna get dressed up. Am i gonna be in the minority. Are folks gonna point and laugh at me:rotfl:

SW

I don't think you will be in the minority. Stephen my DS (13) wants a tux for this trip (he had one last September), so we will be formal dressers...

I too like to dress up. I rarely get to at home...

They would love a little friend. One question though, they won't be in the same kids club due to age, but if there isn't many kids on board (as it appears to be not alot of kids), will they join the groups together so they have more friends? Or do all the groups do activities together anyway?
:goodvibes

The age restrictions on the clubs are gone! The kids choose the activities they want to do and counselors take them frm club to lab to club...

I wasn't so sure of it when I first heard about it, but I have heard some good reviews.

I am hoping for a smaller amount of kids so they get to make friends over the 2 weeks. Last year Becca was so shy she really struggled with the sheer amount of kids. Hoefully this will be a better experience for her! (Certainly sounds like it will...):woohoo:

Welcome, I think there are now 4 Aussie families going on this cruise that are part of the DIS community. We are one of them, We live on the Gold Coast, QLD. And I'm sorry to tell you that there are some kiwi's too, LOL!:lmao:

That's great news, So they can move between the Oceaneers Club and Lab.
There doesn't seem to be many kids on this cruise so hopefully it will be a nice bunch and they can all make some good friends. My youngest, Bella will take Becca under her wing if she's a little shy, We have a lot of friends with younger kids and she always gravitates to them. It's shaping up to be a good one!:cool1:

Hey just noticed that Cat 10's have now shown up on the cruise so looks like people have started bailing out!

OK just got very excited! Don "Ducky" Williams is sailing with us

I had not realized that you were on the 5 night special cruise as well until you posted this. That was our very first cruise. We have been on the Magic since and we are due to go again in just over three weeks' time.

It was very sad when they started to remove table clothes and stacking tables and chairs while we were still having breakfast. We then had quite a wait for the shuttle bus to the hotel and within less than an hour, deck 9 was full of containers.

Corinna
Also the carpets were being ripped up in the stairwells:sad2:

Sea Day - 27th?
How does that date work for everyone?
:thumbsup2 sounds good to me!

nope, the coughing is back:sad2:

:cheer2::yay: Good for you! That is the hardest thing to do!
I will share that when I quit way back in 1997, around 10 months out was my hardest time. I mentioned it to a friend at the time, who I did not know was an ex-smoker, and she encouraged me to stick with it and told me it would get WAY better after a year. She was right and I am so, so thankful that I talked with her or I would still be a smoker today. STICK WITH IT!!!

Feel free to PM me if you ever need some encouragement with this!

Not yet. I'm assuming we probably wont get these until after paid in full date.

Good idea. :thumbsup2

:woohoo::dance3::banana: Oh my!!! We LOVE Ducky Williams!!! :lovestruc He has been on several cruises we have taken. It is interesting that there will be a charge for some workshops. They have never charged for these before. I'd pay to see him though!!

With the Ducky workshops being charged I'm not surprised. In previous cruises all they have done is the animation class for children and I assume they think there will be lots of call for the adult one. I'm hoping its not too much!
