Yes as stated it's super small, in fact the gift shop is across the street as there's no room for it in the restaurant. I awlays get a table upstairs last time i was there i went downstairs to use the toilet and the music was deafeningly loud. Gald i didn't have a table there i couldn'e have hear my dining companions talk!

O thats great i was under the impression that they couldn't send DVD's to the UK due to a law, something to do with soliciting holiday sales, i'm gonna drop them a mail now Thanks.

SW

Well I hope not otherwise I broke the law. If anyone has any problems when I'm home (dog sitting at my sisters at the moment) I can always try and get copies of the one I have to everyone if they want but I definately managed to get it and only had about 2-3 weeks wait,

Woody Im hoping well get feedback on the menus, shows etc on the EBTA! You better take lots of notes so you remember when you get back lol. Also, if you can, can you try to take piccies of the menus just cause I love being able to see what food we will be eating!

Hi All,

I am in the process of finding a hotel in Barcelona that will accommodate 4 in a room at a very reasonable rate and I am having a difficult time at it. The hotel that I was hoping to book can only accommodate us for one of the two nights that we have in Barcelona.

It doesn't have to be right, smack, bang in the middle of Barcelona, however, not too far out.

I would appreciate any help/advice/suggestions that anyone may have.

Ciao :)

Trouble is that most European hotels only hold 2-3 people per room. Your best bet is a chain hotel such as Marriot or Holiday Inn. I think some people here have gone down the apartment route as its better value.

Does anyone know where I can get an FE? What is it exactly? Last time we just used a decorated gift bag as a "mailbox". Thanks.

Brenda

Hey Brenda, I don't mind making you one if you want? I made one a few months back for someone going on another cruise and I've made my own. Let me know if you'd like me to? I think it was about £5 in total including postage to the US and all materials but Im happy to if you cant find anything.

Sounds like a wonderful and exciting trip! I can't wait to hear all about it, especially the EBTA!

I'm going to have my sister Farm for as well as tend to my Cafe! I'll return the favor this summer when she goes on her cruise! LOL!!!!

One of my pet mice isn't doing too well. Yesterday I noticed that she wasn't sleeping in the carriage (yes, the two mice actually have a Cinderella's Carriage that they sleep in) and she looked like her one side was all caved in. When my mom fed them last night Snoopy (the mouse who isn't doing well) ate just fine but isn't doing much else. Tonight she just looked terrible. My mom and my sister were in tears, I'm close to it.

I got her when I was working at the Science Center (the place I was laid off from) last April when she had a litter of babies. All of the babies except one were fed to the snake at the Center. I decided I was going to save the last baby who was a cute brown color. In order to take home baby (who was 6 d says old), I had to take home mommy too (who is Snoopy) because baby (Remy) was still nursing. My parents, sister and my DH fell in love with these two mice. Snoopy and Remy sleep together every night and when my mom gives them their treats, there are many times that Snoopy will take hers over to Remy to make sure that she gets one.

I know they are only pets and only mice, but they are two mice who have stolen my heart and I will really miss Snoopy if something happens to her. :sad1:

Oh I am so so sorry! Sending you big hugs for today! I hope that she perks up today! Let us know how it goes!

Quite a trip Woody. Have a great time. There are some fantastic places you are visiting. We loved Ephasus in Turkey. One place I keep meaning to try to get to are the Pyramids but haven't managed that yet.

Have you thought about an apartment? They are not that much more than one room in a hotel, and of course have a lounge and laundry facilities too!!!! Lynne(Orlandothebeagle) and some other cruisers are renting apartments.

You have to realise that Woody is a man of few words. Great words, and often very funny, but!!!!!!!;) Don't stress him out!!!:lmao:

But, Woody, we do NEED to know!!!!!:rotfl: Some photos would be great.

The cruise itself - no plans for excursions in ports.
Gibralter - I`ve a sister who lives in Marbella - she`s been on the Magic so they`ll come and meet us for the day and she can admire the ship. Will probably end up in Morrisons supermarket as all Brits living in Spain head there!
Madeira - will have a wander around Funchal.
St Maarten - we`ll head to the beach
Tortola - head to Cane Garden Bay - beautiful beach
CC - just relax.

Julie :goodvibes

Hiya Julie...is Morrisons in the centre of Gib? Looks like your cruise plans are similar to us...just gonna take it easy and see some sights.

I bought mine from "gradysmommy" on ebay. She does a fantastic job and is a member here on disboards, just do a search on Ebay USA, she posts worldwide.

I know Lynne has booked an apartement which seems to be a really good deal for those needing more space.

We will be in Barcelona Wed, Thur, Fri and this is the short list of things we want to do:

La Rambla
Sagrada Famila
Park Guell
La Boqueria (lunch?)
Arc De Ttiomf
Port Vell (waterfront)
Casa Batllo
La Pedrera
Columbus Monument
Barri Gotic (Cathedral)
Jardi Botanic (garden)
Maremagnum
El Corte Ingles (rooftop cafe)
Hard Rock Cafe (Fri)

The rooftop cafe sounds very interesting .... ,ight have to add that one to my own list :goodvibes

Sorry to hear about poor Snoopy. That is such a shame but unfortunately mice don't have a very lengthy life span. We have had gerbils in the past and I have been very upset when they passed away, even though they are such small creatures they are such little characters and they touch your heart. I hope she is just having an "off day" and that she soon recovers. Sending :hug::hug::hug:

I once took my team to Plaza Mayor in Madrid for cervezas and tapas. Using my mediocre Spanish linguistic capabilities, I ordered a cerveza and a plate of tapas for each person to share (or so I thought). What actually showed up, via SEVERAL waiters, was one of each type of tapas on the menu! :scared1: We never made it to dinner! :rolleyes1
:lmao::lmao:

Hi Neighbour, we have booked at Novotel barcelona. It was very reasonable. Havr a look on their website. Good Luck!

Yes, I can only book there one night. I even emailed them to ask them if they would contact me if there were any cancellations. It sounds like it will be a nice hotel. Clean!

I am now searching out apartments as they are better value for money with the extra space.

Thank you for your suggestions.

I hope someone from the EBTA writes a trip report. I will try and find that blog too. Hopefully we will get some info re. what we will be doing.

Incidentally ... is anyone from our WBTA planning to write a trip report. I intend to give it a go, because I love reading other peoples reports, but I don't have the best track record. I haven't finished my trip report from Oct 2008 yet :rotfl::rotfl: and need to finish that one before I can start this one.

Yes Easyjet - have booked the hold luggage and you can take alot of carry on luggage so we`ll try that.

Airlingus seems the cheapest unless Virgin reduces their price (considerably) - why are one way flights so expensive????

We looked at doing everything seperatley, with the cat 6 running at around$2500 each virgin wanting $900 each and then a flight from Manchester to Barcelona coming in at £125, we decided to wait to see if the prices came down:confused3

Then virgin holidays came up with the whole package for £1799. After a telephone call we arranged to fly back into Manchester web site said London, they took off the price of the flight to Barcelona as I had alreay booked these when Monarch was having a sale, and by my calulations we've paid about £50 for our return flight:banana: the whole thing has been stress free.:thumbsup2

I looked at every option and compared to a return flight every company was ripping us off on a one way, if you read other websites some people do book returns and never use the second leg however the small print does say the airline can charge you the difference between the one way and the return price, so I didn't want to take that chance :scared1:

Mum likes flying virgin so everything has worked out and the only thing we've had to do is book the hire car from Port Canaveral as we're having a week at our villa.

Keep looking there are deals out their that will work for you. pixiedust:

I plan to. I did one for my last cruise (it's linked at the bottom of my signature) and everyone who read it seemed to get a kick out of it. What was nice was when I reread it myself several months later - it brought back so many things I had forgotten doing!

Take care and when you get back we will only have 3 months to go

Sounds like a wonderful and exciting trip!

Have fun Woody!
