We got the Helpful Hints letter from Disney Cruise Line today.
It is always fun to get correspondence from Disney. :yay:

We got a call from our TA telling us something had come from DCL for us. Got all excited hoping it was the magical letter saying we got the extra OBC somepeople got. Nope, a card with our reservation number and dates to remember.

Greetings! Chris and Julie from Keswick here. Thought I would pop by and say hello.
Good to see the planning is going well for all.
So far our plans are minimal. Have booked -
Travelodge in Newcastle for the night before -
Flight from Newcastle to Barcelona
Booked hotel in Barcelona for three nights
Cruise ( paid for thankyou DVC!)
Need to book two nights in WDW for 2/3 Oct
4/5/6 Oct booked at AKL
Must book flights home - think we`ll go with AirLingus.

The cruise itself - no plans for excursions in ports.
Gibralter - I`ve a sister who lives in Marbella - she`s been on the Magic so they`ll come and meet us for the day and she can admire the ship. Will probably end up in Morrisons supermarket as all Brits living in Spain head there!
Madeira - will have a wander around Funchal.
St Maarten - we`ll head to the beach
Tortola - head to Cane Garden Bay - beautiful beach
CC - just relaxe.

There must be something I`ve forgotten :confused3
Anyways not long now.

Julie :goodvibes

Welcome aboard :goodvibes

EBTA, then Spain, Italy, Greece, Turkey, Egypt, and London.

Woody

Have a wonderful trip.

One of my pet mice isn't doing too well.

I know they are only pets and only mice, but they are two mice who have stolen my heart and I will really miss Snoopy if something happens to her. :sad1:

Some may call them "only pets" and other may say that they are only "mice" but they were "only" mice in Cinderella as well, plus Mickey was "only" a mouse as well. Now look what has happened we all have an extended family just because of "only" a mouse.

So here is a "only" a mouse :grouphug:

Woody Im hoping well get feedback on the menus, shows etc on the EBTA! You better take lots of notes so you remember when you get back lol. Also, if you can, can you try to take piccies of the menus just cause I love being able to see what food we will be eating!

. . . Woody, we do NEED to know!!!!! Some photos would be great.

I cant wait to hear either, I posted on the east bound thread and someone is doing a blog from the magic for there mum, so I will be logging in to hear all about it.

I hope someone from the EBTA writes a trip report. I will try and find that blog too. Hopefully we will get some info re. what we will be doing.
Don't count on me for a trip report, blog or photos. I simply don't have the talent.

But there are four or five people on the EBTA who will have blogs. I don't know the etiquette for linking someone's personal blog on public boards, so I won't go there (and suggest others do the same).

But if you start reading the EBTA thread at page 148, you should find links to the blogs. EBTA page 148.

Happy reading.

Woody

Hello everyone! I am new to this thread. WOW! What a busy thread it is. I have been busy getting ready for our Med cruise in May but thought I would pop by and introduce myself.

My DH, and DS (7) are very excited to be doing the west bound cruise. We have done the esat bound last time and had a blast! My only regret was not getting on the boards before hand.

I look forward to catching up on the past 3 threads. :rotfl2:

Hey Brenda, I don't mind making you one if you want? I made one a few months back for someone going on another cruise and I've made my own. Let me know if you'd like me to? I think it was about £5 in total including postage to the US and all materials but Im happy to if you cant find anything.

Thank you so much. My husband wants to make one, but I don't know if we will have time. I will let you know. Thanks for the offer. We may take you up on it. Thanks again. princess:

Incidentally ... is anyone from our WBTA planning to write a trip report. I intend to give it a go, because I love reading other peoples reports, but I don't have the best track record. I haven't finished my trip report from Oct 2008 yet :rotfl::rotfl: and need to finish that one before I can start this one.

I will definitely do a trip report for this cruise and will also do one for our Med cruise.

We looked at doing everything seperatley, with the cat 6 running at around$2500 each virgin wanting $900 each and then a flight from Manchester to Barcelona coming in at £125, we decided to wait to see if the prices came down:confused3

Then virgin holidays came up with the whole package for £1799. After a telephone call we arranged to fly back into Manchester web site said London, they took off the price of the flight to Barcelona as I had alreay booked these when Monarch was having a sale, and by my calulations we've paid about £50 for our return flight:banana: the whole thing has been stress free.:thumbsup2

I looked at every option and compared to a return flight every company was ripping us off on a one way, if you read other websites some people do book returns and never use the second leg however the small print does say the airline can charge you the difference between the one way and the return price, so I didn't want to take that chance :scared1:

Mum likes flying virgin so everything has worked out and the only thing we've had to do is book the hire car from Port Canaveral as we're having a week at our villa.

Keep looking there are deals out their that will work for you. pixiedust:

That is such a good deal with Virgin - so much so I`m busy working out if I should book that and cancel with Disney - though we did use DVC points for the cruise mmmmmmmm.

I`ll ask Dsis where Morrisons is in Gibralter - I think its just inside the border. I must also sign up to the website!

Hello, again. Grass does not grow under this groups feet. I just spent quite a bit of time trying to read and catch up...from yesterday.

Welcome new comers.

I have a question...again

I have been reading about the chocolate museum, but they do not appear to offer the cooking classes as they did last time. Does anyone have a different info?

I have been reading about the chocolate museum, but they do not appear to offer the cooking classes as they did last time. Does anyone have a different info?

I have only found one for the kids. I emailed about it as the cut off is 11 or 12 and Stephen is 13, and looks it... They were fine with him getting into the class (chocolate modeling) but then suggested that we book with DCL. UUGH! I think I remember someone posting that DCL wouldn't let people that were in Barcelona prior to the cruise join in on any of the excursions, so that is out...

The kids still would like to do it, but there is so much to do that this might slip... Hopefully they won't get too upset with me... :)
