I'd love to see it, but I don't think it's going to make the cut. We'll only have one full day in Barcelona, and I'm inclined to think we'll do a guided tour to get an overview of the main places of note.

I highly recomend that. We did that last repo cruise and it was awesome. We are doing it again this time, but a different area.

I am definitely excited. I am having a lot of stress at work at the moment and to make matters worse, after today (which is my day off) I have to work 9 days in a row. I am not quite sure how I will manage this, but knowing that the cruise is so close will keep me going. I have 4 weeks left at work before our vacation. We are leaving the UK on April 22nd and will have two days in Barcelona first.

Just think of the end, I promise you will get to it!!
I got my airfare booked. Turns out that Airtran was cheaper then Southwest (almost un heard of here). We have a flight to Boston and home from Orlando.

Onto the next item. Is anyone doing the Chocolate Museum?

Hell no, thats truly the last place I need to go!

Please, a little advise.....Disney Rep recommended the Barcelona Zoo...Has anyone heard of it or recommend it? :confused3

Thanks  :flower3:
Walt :cool1:

Guys.....do you think the navigators and menus and formal nights etc will be the same as the east bound?

WHo is doing both?
Corinna and I think Mr and Mrs Woody are?
:3dglasses Are you out there Woody?

I am so excited waiting for these trip reports.

Mmmmmm, I dont really do zoo's and I dont mean to be mean but I would esp not go to a zoo in Spain.
ps the vet sitting next to me agrees, she is a zoo vet.

:thumbsup2 Well done!!!

That is a really great accomplishment.

My daughter is a dancer and I know those competitions can get crazy!

You must be a pretty amazing coach.

Thanks! Although, in fairness and respect to our head coach, I have to clarify that I am the TUMBLING coach for our program. Each of our teams (Freshman, JV, and Varsity) has its own "official" coach who choreographs the routine, comes up with formations, designs and teaches the stunts, etc. I offer input here and there, really work to develop our girls' tumbling ability and help with spotting and support while they learn their stunts (some of which are CRAZY and DIFFICULT)....but the true genius is really our three cheer coaches...and for the varsity squad, who just won nationals, it's our Varsity coach by whom I am always awestruck in her ability to imagine something and then make 30+ girls bring it to fruition!! :cheer2::cheer2:

:cheer2:Congrats on your win!! :cheer2: How exciting! How do I sign my daughter up for a day of basics while on board? She will be in her 1st year of cheer and 3rd year of gymnastics... :)

:lmao::lmao: This is always the joke when I'm on a cruise----that I'll teach a cheer or tumble class on deck somewhere....we better hope for calm seas then!!! :thumbsup2

Hi all it ias been a very long time since posted. We have paid off our cruise.!!!! We decided to pay it early cause the Canadian was almost at par with the US.

Also since we booked a category 11 and got moved to a category 8 :)

I have been trying to catch up on posts. And noticed a few about candy and players and was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction. Of where these posts are.

We would also love to link dining reservations we adults. We too have a good sense of humour. We have early seating.

Well I plan to post often now.

So looking forward to meeting you all in a short while. I say short because waiting for this cruise for almost 2 years the time left is short :)

I am just getting excited about getting onboard.
What tcan we get on board?
What time are you going onboard?
What are you going to EAT when you get onboard?

I dont really need to know I just want to chat about getting on the MAGIC

Funny thing is - you probably care more if it is calm... Becca could care less... last September she did cartwheel from the landing on 5 to the kids club... She was doing back handsprings by the elevators... The girl sets her mind and watch out...

Hey - if you are going to TEACH - you should do it through DCL and sail for a greatly reduced fare... :)

Good evening.

I have just been looking into what we hope to do in Barcelona and found this interesting and informative website for anyone hoping to visit the Sagrada Familia:

http://www.sagradafamilia.cat/sf-eng/docs_serveis/informacio.php

This website is a general Barcelona tourist guide with infomation on tours etc
and information on Parc Guell and many other tourist sights :

http://www.barcelona-tourist-guide.com/en/gaudi/park-guell.html

It is amazing and well worth the visit. The craftsmanship is breathtaking. The Casa Batllo is also worth seeing. I am not big into architecture, but I was amazed at how Gaudi was years ahead of his time. Thank you for posting the links maybe there is some stuff there I have not seen.

I am looking forward to Tapas and Sangria. I really enjoyed that

We were away last weekend taking my cheerleaders to their National Championships in Orlando...and I'm pleased to say that we finished up an undefeated season on a high note by winning at nationals!
Congratulations Erik!

LOL - too funny! Like the chatty 10 -15 pages every 36 hours isn't enough... It is yet another DISorder of sorts...

But, Im game...
We are boarding as soon as the bus gets us there and they let us
I am NOT fighting for a table at lunch at Topsiders, I am dragging the family to PC so we can sit...
Not sure I care about what I am eating on board... I do want to imerse myself in Spain though, so the 2 days prior will be an assortment of Spanish foods and red wine...

Heres some more...
How soon will you be unpacked?
(for me it takes about 30 minutes after luggage arrives)
How fast with your FE be hanging up?
(Ours will be in the carry on luggage - so pretty fast)
How fast will magnets make the door?
(These too will be in the carry on...)
How soon will you find your favorite CM?
(Not sure on this one - we will be looking for Maricar (stateroom) and Victor (bar) as we have cruised with them before. I also want to look for Eva (Dining room) Zan (head server) and Pascal (Chef) but those may have to wait until Dinner...

Who else has the DISorder today?

think they have any good mats in the kids club? Or just beanbag chairs to land on? :lmao:

Thanks for your candor...We are zoo nuts and will heed any advice welcomed for zoo animals..FYI, we despise the Dallas Zoo for the small and outdated quarters for the animals......:thumbsup2

Also, would like to know if anyone would like to join us on the 17th for "Hi. This is Barcelona" 1/2 day tour...Rated #3 in Trip Advisor..Trip Advisor has not been wronged me for a number of years in their reviews....;)

Thanks :)

Oh good lord! How the heck am I supposed to keep up with you crazy people on here?!?! You can't go more than 12 hours off the boards before there's 10 pages of posts!! :lmao: (I have procrastinating catching up for several days now and you're about 25 pages ahead of me and so I'm just not going to be able to catch up....I'll try to jump back in here!)

We were away last weekend taking my cheerleaders to their National Championships in Orlando...and I'm pleased to say that we finished up an undefeated season on a high note by winning at nationals! :cheer2::cheer2: (And one of my freshman girls entered individuals for her age group and she won in her division, as well, which was quite an accomplishment!)

Congratulations, well done....:worship:

I think the menus will be the same.

Not sure about the formal nights; I heard they were different on the last TransAtlantic cruises.

Well, I'll be onboard as soon as they let me, will be eating at Topsiders, hopefully outside in the Spanish air and will try and eat everything I can get on my plate, apart from seafood.

I always pack too much so takes me a longish time to unpack!!:rolleyes1
Our FE out will be out as soon as I can find it, plus the magnets. I feel I am really there when the magnets are out.

We will only look for CM's I know when we are in the places they might be!!!!! We seem to have a few favourites onboard now and we will try and find them. Isn't that a great thing about repeat cruises.

Zan was our Head Server last September. The Eva you mention, was she an assistant server from Croatia or somewhere like that. Lovely girl. If so, she and her hubby have left DCL and have bought some land back home.

Unfortunately no EB TA for me. I had to cancel that before Christmas due to a lack of leave. Instead we are doing the first Med now. Considering that I would have done the EB TA solo and we are both going on the Med and that a Med cruise had been on our wishlist for a while, I am not too upset.
