Hi everyone,

I haven't been on the boards in a while. Great news is: We went to Disneyland!!! We stayed at the Grand California (my first time) and it's was wonderful. We were able to attend the DisMeet Dinner in Downtown Disney on March 13. We enjoyed meeting our fellow cruisers!!! The weather was perfect for lounging around the pool, too. We even rented a cabana and the service was awesome. Now I think I may rent a cabana on Castaway Cay. I am also the proud owner of the new Premier Passport (It was very cost effective considering the trips to WDW I have planned; and now I need to plan more to DL.) Hope everyone is well!! :goodvibes

I'm running the Wine & Dine Half Marathon in WDW the night of Oct. 2nd. I'm gonna need a little refresher of running on land after 2 weeks at sea!

Hi Kelly - We are running the Wine & Dine, too. Maybe we can "train" together on the ship. Are you running the entire thing? We haven't decided if we are doing the relay or the full half-marathon.

What we still need is:
- Someone to organise times etc for the Hard Rock Cafe meet in Barcelona pre cruise
- Someone to organise the beer and or martini tastings and arrange these with DCL. Also collate numbers.

I can organize the meet at the Hard Rock Cafe if no one has volunteered yet. How many people are thinking of attending? What times would work for people? I saw that Lynne is planning pre-drinks on the same day...will this conflict? I can also plan a martini/tequila tasting if still needed.

Now we are past the 6 month mark I am starting to get really excited.
My Disney addiction is taking over, I spent the day making stateroom ears and magnets (I don't want to have a naked door), Journals and Activity books for my DD's and a countdown chain. Now I'm narrowing down my FE idea's.
Is anyone else as obsessed as me, or am I a freak? :rotfl:
Ok, everyone tell me what planning, buying and making they are doing so I don't feel like I need to see a Dr for my addiction!

I'm with you! You are not a freak. I'm very excited too!!!! I am planning to get a new camera so I have been doing some research. I also have a list of needs/wants for the trip. There is so much to do and (thankfully) so little time. :cool1::cool1:

Hey MissMet - I don't know if you've already purchased your Pacsafe, but there is a section on their website with "specials" that have some of the bags 1/2 price.

Thanks for the info! I'm going to check it out!!!

I'd picked this really fat paperback that i'd never ever get the time to read at home, and had visions of myself spending long lazy afternoons on deck sipping a drink and enjoying each word.
Now i realise that i prob be spending more time enjoying the onboard activities than reading, I still plan to take a book.... Just a much thiner one.
Anyone else picked out their reading material yet?

Haven't decided what book to take yet but I also need to pack a smaller book. I've found that I, too, spend a lot of time doing the ship's activities and don't read as much as I think I'm going to.

How wrong is this ???

I'm alreaddy thinking about what book i want to pack to read on the cruise

Yes, Ive picked 1 book at least, the history of the panama canal.

Sorry you had such a bad experiance with a male Massage therapist.
DH is a massage therapist and would do nothing to make his clients so uncomfortable.
I personally look for a therapist with the best certifications in what I want from a therapist. Gender has nothing to do with it.
For all thoses who use a massage therapist, you are the one that can stop any massage at any time because you feel uncomfortable.

And once again, sorry you had such a uncomfortable time.

Ann:flower3:
I forgot your hubby does that, tbh, I would probably pick a male as the only two massages I have had were flimsy if you know what I mean.:confused3

Yes, but please dont worry, if we would rather do the hrc I would NOT be upset, otherwise I can do earlier or not at all, I can have a party all on my own:goodvibes

I love reading on holiday, I read a book each way on the way to spain last week.

I am thinking about buying an Ebook like a Kindle. DH keeps bringing different ones home and I am enjoying using them. I am searching to web to see if any of my favorite authors will have new book releases will be and I will save a few for the cruise.

I love the idea of a kindle, but i tend to go through weird reading spells where i read 4 or 5 books in a row then nothing for months at end. It sure is a cool gadget though and i LOVE my gadgets!

I saved Dan Browns last book for a trip i took last year, I was super desperate to read it but really enjoyed savouring it on the trip as took several long coach rides.

The male therapist didn't actually make me feel uncomfortable, just me who felt that way. I wonder if it is an age thing. I realised there are more clinical/sports/physio massage therapists, it didn't ever cross my mind there might be 'beauty therapy' type ones. I hope I have written that correctly and don't mean any offence. I have not had many massages, always needed money for other things, so am not too experienced in the field.

I knew what you meant.
I agree, it is an age thing:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Thanks! I've added you for the HRC meet and the tequila. I think someone said they were seeing if their daughter could organise a special meet thing at the Barcelona HRC because they work for HRC but can I for the life of me remember who?

I have a list of stuff I want for my Kindle - my son is making a list as well... He won't take time to read other than on the plane, and I pointed out that he can read text books... That was not well received... Funny, I thought it was very funny... :rotfl:

I hear you about the cost factor. I read all the time. I am just not buying any more books as I donated over 1000 last year. I still have way too many books.

Most of the books I read are from friends or the library. I simply don't want the extra weight of books or worry about library books. The Kindle with its free WiFi download is downright appealing!

Our Air Berlin connection has a weight restriction of 17.5 pounds (including computer) carry on per person. I cannot use a purse during that leg as that would be my carryon. They only allow one checked bag per person weighing no more than 44 pounds. Air Berlin charges 150 Euros for an extra bag!! The flight cost was such a great deal that I can still ship an extra bag to the hotel in Barcelona and still be ahead.

Thanks to Mr. Woodman! Sorry I missed the post. I guess I was reading through the posts much too quickly because I missed it. I can help Mr. Woodman although I have no connections to HRC. :lmao: I can still do the tequila tasting.:drinking1

I have tried the lemon and vanilla, I like the strawberry the best, they are the yummiest little balls ever, Lucky I can't get them here, I'd be the size of a small bus! We are going to bring Caramello Koala's and Tim Tams. Is there anything else that people love from Australia?:goodvibes
Australians... Just bring yourselves, we love Austrailians :goodvibes, since you can't bring beer with you that is;)

Count me out, I will bring goodies for evrybody but as some of you might know I struggle with my wt and will not be wanting anything in return!¬ Paula, can i have the list !!

I'm looking for some new Star Trek TNG books. I've just recently been reading Terry Pratchett's Disc world books and they are extremely entertaining!

Sign me up for all of the Alcohol tastings. My DS will be in the oceaneer's lab while I'm napping on the deck.

Haven't picked one yet but I will probably bring one book for the plane trip and then just swap it in the book swap when I have finished it ... don't want to take up too much room or weight with books. I may have a netbook by then too so I may well spend my free time writing as well as reading. I wish Dan Brown would write another book in time for our trip as that would be ideal.

Thats a shame:guilty:

We would love tablemates for late seating if anyone is interested ... it would be great to sit with other DIS members. We did it last time and had a fantastic time.:goodvibes:
