I can't believe we will be steps away from the spa and the bar.

Spa.... bar.... spa... bar....

Is it September yet???:love::banana::hippie::rotfl:

I plan to do a lot of running up the stairs to our favorite place. That way I can use up some calories before I get my drink of the day!!!! :lmao:

I'm dreaming about the stone massage. Heaven.:love::love:

I'm thinking about my second massage being the alone time with the ginger glow. Terry said it was wonderful. :goodvibes

Ok the ginger glow, is that a facial or a body procedure?

I absolutely LOVED it!!! I didn't want to shower for two days I felt sooo smooth.:goodvibes

I also really liked the hot stone massage. Very relaxing. I just wanted to melt back to the stateroom.

Hi All,

Just checking in . . .looks like you've been busy.

Have a great start to the week . . . at the end we'll be one more week closer to cruising together!

Theresa 8-)

Ah, Thanks Terry. I am usually faster, but I am a message newbie. I give neck and shoulder ones to friends and they love them, but haven't had one myself yet.

I am so ADHD today. I was tryng to see what event have been planned and I am lost. Where should I go to check this out and sign up.

I have been working on FE gifts and was also wondering if their was a total number yet?

Last question for today, promise. Should I be checking here and the other site for info Unot sure if it is all the same group of people)?

If you'd like to sign up for the candy bar swap, PM me or post - I try to read all messages.

I'm thinking that most people sound to be interested in chocolate bars rather than other candy so any thoughts on whether we allow both or go with just chocolate?

I have noted the following people that maybe interested in this (some may have just said it sounded like fun though rather than actually wanting to participate) - please let me know if you are a definite yes or no - also the number of people participating in your group.

I'm thinking that if each person/group brings say a dozen small candy bars to swap? I guess it may depend on numbers of people interested - I'm open to ideas. We can either have a meet to swap or a FE drop (assuming everyone has a FE?).

Sorry, we have been in San Diego for the past 4 days at Magic-Con!! :rotfl:
Anyhow, yes, consider Gus and I confirmed for the candy exchange. We are all for any type of candy since Gus doesn't like chocolate but either way we are still in!!

BTW, We have also been DVC memebers since 2005 and would be happy to share our input for anyone interested!! It's not for everyone but it sure has worked out wonderful for us!! :cloud9:

All 4 of us would like to do the candy bar exchange but maybe if there are multiple groups can we be split up?

Gotcha :-)

Loving the shore excursions. I am so ready for this trip. I can't wait.:cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1:

Oooo I haven't looked yet - we don't usually do a lot of shore excursions but I do like to look at what is available.

Ok, you seemed to have missed me again....do I smell? :lmao:

I'm so sorry - I started gathering names then I played around with my spreadsheet and then couldn't remember who was a definite and who just said it sounded like fun (but might not necessarily want to be involved).

I think I have nearly caught up now with everyone. :headache:

Still taking names for the list and I'm going to PM everyone to see if I can get a clearer idea of numbers and what they want to swap - chocolate only or chocolate&candy or candy only. Then I'll see what I can come up with for numbers this far.

Confirmed so far...

I had a couple of questions about taxis in Barcelona. I've read that it's about 30 Euros from the airport to hotel - is that about the same as hotel to port, or is that cheaper? Also, do taxis in Spain get tips? My research seems to indicate no.
Funny you should ask me just being there, cause I had forgot, there was big boards outside all major taxi ranks with an estimated price for everywhere(not sure if same in barcelona) but my taxi driver went like the clappers and I gave his a decent tip, cause the taxis in this country are SO annyoing, you can honestly tell by the speed they are going whether they have a fare or not.

I really fancy this, but to be fair my skin was lovely post rassul, at least all the bits get done and you can say scrub a bit harder or a bit softer:rotfl:

Those planning to book massages, if you don't want a man, add that to the reservation. I almost fell off my chair when a young man came to take me for my massage and wasn't comfortable at all. Spoilt the whole experience and the birthday $'s given me that I used on a expensive hot stone massage.:sad2:

If you don't mind, then enjoy it!!!!!:lmao:

Do you think you can request one?:rotfl:

Hi Ya'll, Yesterday was a fun day. I got up early to go take the test to see about working for the Census. I got an 88%!!! :woohoo: I will call them Monday and let them know I am available right away for office work.

After getting more money on a Disney gift card, I met Stephanie for lunch at Paniera Bread. YUM So then we went to Costco and I found some cards for pictures on my camera since I am not taking my computer. I figure I have enough space on the two cards to take 9,000 pictures!!! I couldn't take that many even if I took a picture of doorknobs and windows!!!!! :lmao:

We weren't ready to go home just yet. So we went to a very nice restaurant and sat out on their patio and had some martinis. Mine was with watermelon and Stephaine's was a Key Lime. Very tasty. Not quite like being on the ship but the sun felt grand. After that, we said our boodbyes and since I had gotten up so early, I went home and took a nap and then was looking at shore excursions.

I am loving all of the pictures. :goodvibes

I have a feeling we will all have way too many pictures when we come back. I think I had around the 1000 mark on each TA but then my parents had around 500 each and my sister had anther 1000 so we ended up with around 3k!

Now we are past the 6 month mark I am starting to get really excited.
My Disney addiction is taking over, I spent the day making stateroom ears and magnets (I don't want to have a naked door), Journals and Activity books for my DD's and a countdown chain. Now I'm narrowing down my FE idea's.
Is anyone else as obsessed as me, or am I a freak? :rotfl:
Ok, everyone tell me what planning, buying and making they are doing so I don't feel like I need to see a Dr for my addiction!

I got behind with reading and responding again, but thought I post this. Will catch up with the rest of the thread either later to today or tomorrow.

Since we're talking about hotels after the cruise, we'll be headed to BWV for one night after the cruise... off to enjoy the Food & Wine. I hate wishing the summer away, but I really want to be cruising right this minute...:goodvibes:goodvibes:goodvibes

I am really looking forward to the Food and Wine Festival. We were at WDW for the first time during the Food and Wine Festival last year and I really enjoyed it. We are seriously considering doing the deluxe dining plan this time round, which should give me plenty of snack credits to use at the Food and Wine Festival.

DVC!! :thumbsup2

I know Saratoga Springs gets a bad rap sometimes, but we really enjoy it there. Very relaxing and just a short walk to DTD. For longer stays where you aren't running to parks everyday it really is great. Quiet, peaceful.

And the Grand Californian is really nice!! Loved it in the villas much more than in the hotel.

We visited Saratoga Springs a few times, but this is just too posh and stuffy for me. The only other resort that I feel the same way about is the Grand Floridian. In both I am almost too scared to breath. I don’t feel like this at any other Disney resort apart from those two. I suppose I am spoiled by Old Key West, which is seriously laid back.

If I ever had the chance for a nice long stay where visiting the parks was not a priority, then Animal Kingdom Villas would be my resort of choice. I just loved sitting on the balcony watching the animals or going to the outlooks and watch the animals and chat with the staff. I did not get half as much park time as I had planned beforehand while staying there.

Are you a member of the DVC Corinna? I am really going to have to start looking into this to see if it is worth it for us. I am hoping to go to the West Coast in 2012 .... it will be our 10th Wedding Anniversary and I would love to do the ABD Backstage Magic Tour.

I must admit I debated long and hard about Epcot for Food and Wine or Magic Kingdom, and at the moment we are still leaning towards Magic Kingdom and still hoping for MNSSHP on the Saturday night :wizard: As much as I would love strolling around the World Showcase and having a relaxing evening, I know I would feel cheated if I went to WDW and didn't visit my favourite park .... Magic Kingdom. So many parks, so little time. Not to worry, we hope to be back to WDW in 2011.

I think this may be our future :rotfl::rotfl:

Thanks such a lot for doing this. I have been checkin out the House of Blues menu and it looks very promising. has anyone ever eaten there?

Yes, we became DVC members in November 2008. We had been attending time share presentations for years, but never found something that really worked for us. There is just the two of us traveling and we do not need an apartment that sleeps 6 to 8. I also didn’t really like the idea to be tied to a certain week or season. We had essentially given up on the idea of time share long before 2008. On our trip to Florida in November 2008, we went to Animal Kingdom at the beginning of the holiday. We had done Kali River Rapids and got very wet. There was a bit of a wind blowing and we felt quite chilly so we looked for shelter where we would still get some sun, but were protected from the wind. This happened to be one of the DVC booths. We got chatting with the guy manning it and he was from the UK as well. He told us all about it and the many options it would give us. I had wanted to do a Disney cruise since our honeymoon in 1998, but DH did not want to. However, when he was told that we could use DVC points for a cruise, he was definitely interested. We signed up for a tour the next day and they collected us from our hotel on International drive and took us to the Preview Centre at Saratoga Springs. We really loved what we saw. The fact that we were buying points rather than specific weeks appealed to us. It is also nice to have the option to just book a studio, which is what we always do. We also liked the flexibility. The biggest surprise so was our guide. Far from giving us the hard sell like we had previously experienced, he gave us an honest account of the advantages and disadvantages and sent us away to think it over. He also recommended that based on the conversation we had, Old Key West would be our best option. I could not agree more. We love this resort. For us, this definitely has worked. I just wish we had known about this when we first looked at timeshare in 1998.

We love SSR, and really don't find it 'posh' at all. Goodness, John wouldn't stay there if it was.:rotfl2: We find it so relaxing, and just feel so chilled out as soon as we arrive. We love walking to DTD, and usually walk back too. We ask for Grandstand so we are at the first bus stop. We walk a round trip to DTD via West End, all the way through and back via Cangress Park. We like sitting on the rocking chairs outside Artist's Palette, people watching. I don't think I would like to stay at the Treehouse Villas if I used the Disney buses with having to shuttle over to SSR, that would just annoy me so much. I would have to use the car to the parks.

I can see why people feel it isn't as themed as other resorts, and also that it is very big with a lot of walking, but when we stay at the BCV, which so far is really our favourite, we usually have to walk miles along hotel corridors!! Of course that has benefits in the rain or searing heat.
