Not sure if I posted on here, but i should have done. I have an MRI booked for tomorrow. It should have been a few weeks ago, but of course I was enjoying myself then!!! I had a repeat ultrasound just before we went away, and they want to check things out more thoroughly.

Anyway, the timing isn't too good, and it could be we have to cancel this cruise. Hopefully if nothing is wrong, and they don't want to do further investigations all will be ok(and I am going with that outcome), but I only get to see the consultant at the end of April and PIF date for the cruise is May 21st, so if I need a gallbladder operation I don't think it would be urgent enough to get done by then. The problem is I wouldn't be covered by insurance. We have an annual policy that finishes in June, and so of course vacations after then won't be covered and no company would cover me for any ongoing problem. They covered me for this last vacation once I got the ok from the doctors but said next year would be different!

If we do have to cancel, then the flights are in place for us to rebook if we can, which we would do, though I chose our room and wouldn't have it then!!:sad2: I so want to cruise with old friends and new.

I haven't been joining any groups, but will when I can!!!!!!!

I am wondering if anyone else is leaving their kids at home for this cruise? Our three will be at home with Grandpa and Grandma. It will be so odd not to have them with us and it's already starting to make me feel sad.

Just curious if anyone else is in the same boat (literally)? :confused3

Krista

Lorraine and I are leaving our DS(16 by then) at home. He'll have just gone back to school a couple of weeks before after the summer holidays, and so we couldn't justify taking him out. He'll be staying with his grandparents and be being spoilt rotten, so no great hardship for him really. Also we're taking him on one of the 11 night med cruises during his holidays, so he'll have had his dose of Magic already.

Oohhh, I feel for you! Gallbladder problems are horrible. I currently have 6 small polyps / tumours in mine. I have chosen not to remove it at this stage. I have to have another scan in May, if they have grown at all I will have to have it taken out. We have paid in full, so I will just have to be OK to go, I'm only 33 so hopefully recovery will be quick. Didn't consider insurance, must look into that.
Good Luck and pixiedust:pixiedust:pixiedust:. I'll be thinking of you.

Krista, this is the first hol without our dn, she is 14 now and has come with us since a baby, it is only in the last year she has moved back with her Mum!
I will truly miss her, not sure how much or whether I will focus on stuff like , well mainly >>> no worries!! where is she and who is she with!! also, serenity bay:thumbsup2
Hello All,

I just got word back from Barcelona tonight. They are offering reduced drink prices to our group. I will need to know how many, so that they can provide "bracelets" for identification. Here's the offer:

3€ beer, wine, soft drinks, water, juices
6€ long drinks (vodka,gin,whisky,rum)

I don't know what the going rate is these days but from my previous travels to Spain these sound reasonable.

Of course, we would need to deconflict with the "drinkie-poos" (do I have that right? Vacations are so tough!:thumbsup2

What say you?

BTW, definitely in for the tequila tasting, wine tasting, beer tasting, martini tasting; did I miss any?:cool1:
I say that is def a good deal, count me in.
Michele and I would be happy to represent the Colonies at the late seating!;)

We'd prefer a "big Disney kids" (adults) table. We love kids but we're leaving ours at home this time.:rolleyes1
:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2 excellant, I will warn you, we talk a lot and probably too fast and the guys wear there kilts!!!
Updated list of players below - some have multiple people playing so many more players than names listed.

Thanks to those who sent me a PM, I haven't replied to you all but I have updated the list.

We definitely have enough players for 3 groups and possibly 4 groups. I will do my best to match your requests for types of candy.

Since then, I was outvoted.

Woody
Me too Woody, I am glad now, all this planning would nearly be finished!
Thank you for the birthday wishes.:)

We are home now!!!:sad2:

Quiet day today actually. John has to work:eek: so no coffee out or anything, but of course we have just had 6 weeks of coffees and meals out plus lots of fun. so, having my hair done this morning. It is almost 7 weeks since it was done, and the dark and grey roots are showing and the hair refusing to do what I want!!!!! Going to just have a quiet evening with roast turkey and loads of veggies. We get a little short of veggies over in the US!! I need my fix.:lmao:
It is like coming back to life with a bang.
I will be thinking about you tom, hope it goes ok.
:grouphug:

We are not bringing anyone under 21 years old this time.:cool1: I going to sing
"I wanna talk about me
Wanna talk about I
Wanna talk about number one
Oh my me my
What I think, what I like, what I know, what I want, what I see
I like talking about you you you you, usually, but occasionally
I wanna talk about meeeeee
I wanna talk about me"

I heard my sister playing this song by Toby Keith and thought this would be my motto for this cruise. LMAO:thumbsup2

I love this :thumbsup2

Krista

Hi Krista, we are leaving our two at home and it will be our first long holiday without them since our honeymoon, which will be strange. They are 19 and 16 and they will probably keep their Nanna company while we are away. They will be in University and hopefully college and wouldn't be able to take the time out. We might be planning a family trip to Disneyland Paris in July to compensate them for missing out on the cruise. But it will be lovely to have some time just DH and I.

That seems really reasonable ... I know in Paris a beer costs more than 3 euros. DH and I will be up for this if it is on a different day to Lynne's drinks evening.

Michele and I would be happy to represent the Colonies at the late seating!;)

Sounds great ...... we are definitely fit the "big Disney kids" description :yay:

We live on the Gold Coast, about 20 minutes from Surfers Paradise, or less than an hour from Brisbane. We love it here, great place to live!
My husbands working on the Beer! We have a Qantas flight to London where we have heaps of luggage allowance, it's the BA flight from London to Barcelona that seems to be the killer! We're working at linking our flights so we are on a Qantas International Itinerary. Cross your fingers!

On my last business trip to Australia, my wife and I stayed for about two weeks in Brisbane. It's our favorite city in Australia! Beautiful area, warm & friendly people, clean city, great weather. Couldn't ask for much more.

It would be ok if we were just going to other EU countries with a reciprocal health agreement, but anything happening with expensive health care(US etc!!) then it is a big chance to take without proper insurance. Your country's insurance might be different.

It is like coming back to life with a bang.
I will be thinking about you tom, hope it goes ok.
:grouphug:

Thanks Lynne.

Sorry to hear this Marilyn ..... sending lots of :wizard::wizard: that it turns out to be nothing to impact on your cruise.

Thank you. That would be the very best outcome.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MARILYN

:bday::bday::bday::bday:

Thank you, having a good day so far.

Hope all goes well for you
Jon

Thank you too.

We would love to link dining with some others at early seating - prefer adults with warped sense of humour (monty python fans?).

Run away, run away! :yay:

Happy Birthday Marilyn! party: :cake:

I'm leaving the kids home. They are 35 and 40 something. Let them fend for themselves!!:lmao:
