For 5 of us it would be lovely. I can't make the money appear on top of everything else, so the decision is out of our hands. But, one can dream!

We did 7 in the Walt, a one time deal to celebrate. My dad had passed away and his name was Walt. He had left me some extra money to do this trip so it was to celebrate his life and memory.

TA called today and offered us an upgrade from a cat 4 to a cat 3. The bad news is it would cost us for two another $3500. I am going to decline as this is the cost of a whole cruise!!

Just my thoughts.....
:surfweb:

Wow, :scared1::scared1::scared1:

What is Disney up to?
We have today in UK, received a FED EX package..well..a neighbour did on our behalf. It had to be signed for...with the usual red tape and flourish of the electronic writing pen. All exciting looking. And marked urgent etc. My name on it...so DH thought it something to do with his birthday on Sunday lol  so didnt open it. He didnt notice the Orlando post mark. But it still burns a hole on the kitchen work top, because he thinks I have planned a surprise.:). I get home late this pm.and see its from Orlando.OOO...exciting! :cool1:
NAH. Boring. A large heavy card package...with a tiny thin little letter inside, merely telling us when our final payment is due, and when we can start our excursion/Palo bookings. As if I didnt already know those dates lol :rotfl2:
Now my point is............a few weeks ago...we got a scruffy thin letter through normal post...of little importance looking, almost overlooked as junk mail...and its the letter for OBC.
Just strikes me as funny

Bet we would all like a reduction on cost of cruise instead of money in FEDEX account!

Love yous anyway Disney :lovestruc
Lyn

I love that, It is so funny! They spend all this money to get you excited and pay your money. Then when they are offering you money there are no bells and whistles required, just a boring letter, and your excited anyway! I have my boring (but so exciting) letter, will be on the look out for our big fed ex exciting box!!!:rotfl2:

That is so lovely, what a special memory!

What a lovely memory

That's why as DINKs we choose Disney - far too many bored kids lounging around on other cruise ships :rotfl2:

:thumbsup2We're DINKS too....and we choose Disney for same reason :rotfl2:

LOL- I'm laughing because anyone who knows me well would know that that was all done ages ago! I have all the towel racks, hooks, even soap dispensers all bought. The contractor is doing his job and I have done mine! Even the paint colour has been chosen. Will definately post the before and after (minus the carpenter ant damage, the wasps' nest, and the squirrel's nest, as those things aren't visible in the original pics but instead lurking underneath!).
Cool, Ive got he tiles picked for my new bathroom, I just need to stop cruising and save for it though.
We got that too and I had the same thought - why the important Fed-Ex envelope? :confused3

Got the Dr's ok for training!!!

Today I walked the 5K track... did it in 32:51 Have 6 weeks to cut 5 minutes off to take last years winner time of 26:31
Race day 10 April, and we dont run over the London Bridge this year:sad2:
And after the race,
I get to start paddling outriggers, we're doing the last race of the season in Lake Las Vegas in October. Dual training:cool1:

Anyone else out there gearing up for a race? Training tips???

Ann:cheer2:

Thats pretty good going, its incredible how quick you(well me) loose fitness??
Yes, we have 3 half marathons starting end of march, and a full 2 weeks before cruise! but the weather is NOT good.
We got a garmin forerunner thingy, its great to see your stats.
Ann, congrats on the great results of your hard work.

Brikner, interesting that they are calling for paid upgrade so early. Or had you indicated a desire for a Cat 3?

Side note, the EBTA has started getting both free upgrades and Gty assignments. months to go for us, woo hoo!

Pj
Why???? does that make my heart go a bit faster, am I sad or what.
I booked airfare! Direct JFK to BCN September 16th, arriving the 17th at 7:55am. $561.00

It is with Air France will call tomorrow to see if I can get an assigned seat, flown by Delta on this craft http://www.seatguru.com/airlines/Delta_Airlines/Delta_Airlines_Boeing_767-400_Trans.php. I am hoping for a seat in one of the 2 seat sections. So excited. Now on to transport from the Airport to hotel, I have budgeted enough for a taxi or townish car (lol.)

:cool1::cool1:sorted.

What a lovely thing to do, I hate it when some folks( I know who I mean) waste money like that.

Miserable weather here, wonder how danny is? and if poor Sarahs at home.

This is exactly what we thought when we got the FED-EX delivery yesterday ... what on earth :confused3:confused3

Mind you it was really great to see the words "Bon Voyage Whittam-Howsam Party" in print :woohoo::woohoo:

:thumbsup2We're DINKS too....and we choose Disney for same reason :rotfl2:

Just wondering what DINKS are?

Danny is much the same thanks for asking :hug: He had a rough day yesterday and slept off and on most of the day. Throat is still incredibly painful and then in the evening his neck glands became very swollen and tender and he looked as though he had the mumps - poor thing :hug:

We decided yesterday that with Danny being so poorly we would not go away this weekend. Fortunately we will not lose out too much as we were staying with friends in an apartment and they were paying for it anyway before we agreed to go and so they don't want any money for it from us if we don't go. I will just lose the flight money. All the ski stuff will come in again if we decide to go next year or sometime in the future. I would not have enjoyed it knowing he is so ill so there was no point really.

Today the surgery phoned and confirmed he definitely has Glandular Fever. I am now waiting for the doctor and the school to call so we can make arrangements. I just want to get everything sorted out now we know what it is.

Now I am just hoping that we have no health issues before the cruise :wizard::wizard: ... I don't tend to have much luck with planned holidays ( on my last cruise I was in hospital the day before we flew) so maybe I should stick to booking last minute when I know things are all ok.

Sorry about the long waffle :rolleyes1:rolleyes1

No point going if you were going to worry.

You will use your ski tuff again. Heck you can come to bloomin scotland!!!

Good morning everyone! More snow here....yesterday and now today. The kids want to go outside and play in it and all I want to do is sit in the house with the fireplace on! LOL!;)

We are still playing the waiting game with our move back to Florida....looks like it will be before the cruise, so it really puts a wrench in buying our air tickets. What I am thinking is that we will have to connect either in JFK, Atlanta or Chicago anyway, so I might just buy that leg of the trip. Then see if I need to get to one of those cities from Detroit or Orlando. Any thoughts????? I just hate to wait much past the end of April to buy the tickets.

Anyone know if the cruise is close to selling out?

Alright folks.....March is upon us and, based on my past experiences organizing lanyards for fall cruises, I know that I need to place the order for lanyards and badge-holders probably by the end of April (or the first part of May at the very latest)...so that I have time to make sure they arrive here, I can design and print the name badges and Jason and I can cut them out, insert them in name badges, etc.

So-----that means that we are going to have to create a cut-off point for people to "sign up" to get lanyards. I'm going to make the decision now and say that if you want to receive lanyards for yourself and/or the members of your travel party you must make certain that I have your information by no later than Friday, April 16th!! After that date I will not be able to guarantee lanyards for anyone.

So....if you have not already ordered your lanyards, please send me the info before the deadline. Because of the technical difficulties that the website is having, I'm going to ask that we NOT use the website to register for lanyards for the time being (at least until it's definitely fixed). So:

1.) If you have not registered for lanyards, please send me an email at wbtalanyards@yahoo.com and include your DIS name, the first names of everyone in your party, your stateroom number, and indicate if you are on the B2B with the last Med Cruise.
2.) If you have already registered for lanyards, but you ONLY did so using the website, I cannot access that information right now...so please follow the directions in #1 and send me an email with the required info.
3.) If you have already registered for lanyards by email, you will be probably be receiving an email confirmation from me in the next several weeks. (I'm just going to send out emails to confirm that I still have information listed correctly AND to make sure everyone whose name I have is still cruising with us since we've lost so many of our companions over the past several months).

Any questions, feel free to PM me or send me a note/question at the wbtalanyards@yahoo.com email address!!:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

I checked this morning and there were only ocean view and verandah rooms available.

Hi Erik
I can't remember if I have emailed you or not so I have done it again anyway. Thanks so much for doing all of this  It is much appreciated. I loved wearing my Dis group lanyard on our last trip ... made everyone easy to spot!

Hey everyone,

I've gotten a couple emails from our newer cruisers who've recently joined asking questions about what the cost for lanyards are and how they will get them, so I wanted to just publicly post that info here:

There is NO cost to cruisers unless you want to join the "lanyard team." Rather than asking every person to pay for their individual lanyards, what we're doing is gathering a group of 20 or so folks who are all willing to donate to the cause and help me & my partner with paying for all the lanyards (we're hoping to keep individual contributions on the lanyard team between $20 and $30). That way everyone who signs up for lanyards gets their lanyards for free as a gift from the group. (If you are interested in joining the lanyard team to help pay, I think there are a few more slots still open, so you can email me at the same email address, wbtalanyards@yahoo.com, and please put "LANYARD TEAM" in the subject line.)

In terms of how you will get the lanyards----we will organize a time/place to meet on the day of embarkation and everyone can get their lanyards at that time. Anyone who doesn't get their lanyards then, Jason and I will deliver them to your rooms and hang them on your doorknobs or fish/fish extender later that night (hence the reason we need at least one stateroom # for every party). We are going to bring the lanyards with us in our luggage or in a carry-on on the plane so we will have them with us, and will not have to worry about shipping them to ourselves, etc.----and we are on the B2B cruise ourselves so we have them with us for B2B cruisers and they will definitely be there well before the WBTA cruisers arrive!

A dear friend on the EBTA just got an upgrade from cat 11 to cat 6, very cool. I guess the discounted cat 12 didn't result in many new reservations.

Ohhh this explains the thing I have being delivered to my mums!

You'll need a travel adapter for power but you shouldn't need to worry about voltage all laptops (AFAIK) do the voltage switch for you. The wireless will be fine - thats an international standard.

For hairdryers though wouldn't you need a voltage adapter?

According to the website - no inside cats or cat 8s but all others showing at mo

It would be nice if they offered the $699 Cat 12s on this one. I'd gladly downgrade and have a Cat 12 room! When they were first released for this cruise (opening day) they were quoting $999 for Cat 12 and Cat 11 so hence booked a Cat 11
