Thank you to all who expressed their understanding and/or offered virtual hugs in regard to the first anniversary of dad’s passing. It’s so helpful to hear from others who can relate in one way or another and remind you that what you’re going through is normal. I did much better on Friday, the anniversary itself, than I did the day before. I understand why and it makes sense to me now. I just wasn’t expecting it to hit me as it did/when it did.
Well I spent the weekend with the stomach/intestinal flu. I started feeling queezy Friday afternoon, and it only got worse from that point. Doing MUCH better today! So let me turn my chat to the good stuff!
The Pre-Cruise Hotel/Apartment Roll Call List has been updated on
Post #4! Check it out for accuracy, and if you are not on the list but would like to be, just PM me.
I love seeing Sarah’s weekly countdown! I cannot believe that we’re quickly approaching the “twenties” countdown!
SNOW! I am so jealous of those of you who got so much snow! I was disappointed we only got 15” here at grandmother’s. I heard that back home (Columbus), there was more. The big issue here was drifting. The condo directly in front of my grandmother’s patio had snow blown up to the top of the neighbor’s windows. You can see from the picture below of my car that wind indeed was a-blowing! I took this picture of Sandy, grandma’s dog, today as well, that shows some of the depth. That's NOTHING like the amazing photos I've seen here though!
Tour Option While in Barcelona: In some of my waking hours this weekend, I was checking out the trains to see how to get from Barcelona to Montserrat on my own. Then I ran across a semi-independent tour that picks you up at Placa de Catalunya at 8:30 am, which is a 6 minute (.5km) walk from Praktik Rambla. It goes to the Torres Winery then Montserrat, including the Benedictine Monastery where you can see the boys choir perform every day at 1:00 pm. Finally, the bus will take you to Sitges and its beaches. You have independent time at all locations so you can choose what you may want to explore. You’ll return to Barcelona at 6:30 pm.
So if you have more than a day in Spain, this may be an option you want to explore. I’m 90% certain this will be my game plan. I’ll arrive in Barcelona Thursday morning, take the double-decker city tour that you can hop on/off at 44 locations, then on Friday, I’ll get up and do this tour. I think it would be nice to be able to see more of Spain than just the city life of Barcelona, so this seems like a good plan to me! I’m pretty settled in the idea that I want to go to Montserrat and Sitges, so I will still look into the train options to go on my own, but I’m liking the semi-guided tour bus offering
Price:
Kids 8 and Under are Free

Hi…Is anyone else planning Parasailing at CC? I have always wanted to do it, and DH gave it me as one of my Christmas presents! …. We have a new Cairn puppy dog (well, new in that she is 14 weeks old). We have called her MAGIC

but she is usually called Madge for short ….
That’s so sweet of your DH to give you such an exciting Christmas gift to look forward to using!! I’ve been wanting to parasail as well, and I have had it on my wishlist for the next time I was at
Castaway Cay. I’m not sure if I want to do it this time though, because we’re at the island for such a small amount of time (5 hours) and besides eating lunch at the adult beach, there are other things I want to accomplish moreso than this wonderful-sounding experience. I did put it in my “Saves” on
DCL’s site though….we’ll see about it as we get closer.
Congrats on your new addition!

I bet you’re having a splendid time bonding with her!
Throttle was the starting point that came to mind

If Rylea was actually affected by it things may have been different. But this dog doesn't let anything stop her. She'll chew/eat pop cans, razor blades, dry wall screws, metal framing studs, lead weights, raw chicken breasts off the counter, plastic bottles, steak knives, and so on. She has liking for metal.

Chewed her way through a wooden baby gate and bent the bars on a metal kennel to escape. Won't eat clothes, shoes, or most other things. She has had parvo and blown out her knee then reinjured the knee. But through it all she is like the "little engine that could" and won't let anything stop her from playing or getting to were she wants to go.
In it all she is a good dog and very friendly.
Jon
I’m exhausted from reading all about her! She’s a fearless girl!
So 32 was the magic number yesterday. 32 weeks until our cruise. And 32 inches of snow officially recorded in our local area yesterday!
WHOA! Thank God you still have power after that much snow! Was there any movement in civilization today? I have to admit that I would have loved to see 20"-24" or so, but 32 inches! That's a LOT!
Just got back this morning from the Magic!!! It was a wonderful week and very relaxing.….
I’m so happy you all had a great cruise! Welcome home! It won’t see like no time before you’re back on the ship now!
Hi everyone,
What a way to start my week. I nearly kill myself getting to work only to be "Let Go" because of budget cuts. so to work at 9am home by 11:30am. I am so shocked I cannot even think. ....But I am not giving up this cruise!!!!
Terry, I am *SO* sorry that you lost your job and that you join others like myself and Amy in the virtual unemployment line. I know there are others here in the same boat as well. That's exactly where we'll be in 32 weeks, too. In the SAME BOAT! I'm not giving up yet, and it sounds like you have a determination to not give up either!
