I agree, it's so much easier.

We visited Australia last year (Sydney, Whitsunday Island, Cairns, and Darwin). It was so simple to go into a store, see a price of $4.95, hand the clerk $5.00, and get change.

Also, love the Tim Tams!

Woody

We live on the Gold Coast in Queensland. About 20 minutes from Surfers Paradise Beach. It's very similar to Florida's climate. We love it here!

34 WEEKS TO GO !!!!

:cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

YAY!!!:woohoo::yay::banana::cool1::woohoo:

Love and prayers to those in need.

Yes it look like we are on the same flight.

Actually we are staying at the Praktik Barcelona, not the Praktik Rambla. There owned buy the same people and six blocks apart

I came accross the Praktik Barcelona when looking at the Praktik Ramblaa and couldn't understand why the rate for our stay had suddenly dropped a very large amount. I was thinking with it being so close it would be a good choice. It looks very good for the price. You can bet a balcony/terrace which would be very nice.

Hey Everyone!

Well, I know that my absence has been the subject of conversation since Hadley started posting again....:lmao:....so I thought I'd chime in real quick. I absolutely promise that I have been logging on and at least skimming the boards 2 or 3 times a week....so I know MOST of what's been going on even when I've been really silent and inactive.

My and Jason's lives are just so crazy now.....we've both had big changes in our jobs. We both still have our jobs but BOTH our organizations went through a major merger/take-over effective January 1st----mine with about 8 months advance notice and planning and Jason's with about 8 DAYS of notice!!! So that's just a lot of extra stress and work and everything.....

....plus I am right in the middle of cheerleading season now :cheer2::cheer2::cheer2: official competition season for our squad began two weeks ago when we hosted our own annual tournament and now starting tomorrow we have competitions on 5 out of the next 8 Saturdays AND one Sunday-----so add that to all the practices, my full time job, etc. and it's just exhausting and significantly cutting into my DISboards and trip planning time!! :confused3 :rotfl2:

Anyhow...thought I'd log on quickly to chime in, say we're still here, we're still going (doing the B2B actually) and I definitely AM still doing lanyards. In the coming weeks I will be posting some final details about the lanyards for everyone (I hope to have them ordered by the end of April) and will also be confirming with everyone their lanyard orders (since I know that some people who ordered them have dropped and some new folks have joined). For now, though, if people want to include their lanyard info in their roll call registration on the fabulous new cruise website....that is helpful. I am easily able to pull up that screen and see info listed out. I am also still checking (periodically) the wbtalanyards@yahoo.com email address so folks can also send me their info there.

I'll try to post a little bit more often in the coming weeks!

Hey Eric. Glad you and Jason are OK and still around! Hopefully see you all soon!

Hey everybody,
I too, have been off the boards for a while lurking in the background trying to keep up.
Well, it's now real for me too. Just made our Flight arrangements and hotel arrangements. Philly to London for 5 days and then off to Barcelona for 3 days before the cruise. I am amazed that so many hotels are booked. I'm stuck at the W Barcelona at 20,000 points a night:scared1: Any one else staying at the W?

I know it was a wile ago, but my choice for which character to be stranded with is genie from Aladdin

We too are flying BA from London to Barcelona. In fact we're flying from Philly on BA also. Booked through Vayama secret saver and got both flights for 3 people for $575:cool1: It was $4100 through BA's website. I don't know how Vayama can do it.

LOL will have to use them in future

Thank you to everyone for their well wishes, thoughts, and prayers over the past week. My DW called this afternoon to tell me that Monty (step dad) had just passed away.

I won't be around much for the next week or so. Flying to Winnipeg, Manitoba then driving to North Dakota. I hope everyone has a good weekend and week to come.

Just have to say that I am both thankful and proud of my DW for spending the time to stay with my mom and help with Monty during his last days.

Now to hopefully convert some of the sadness into cheer.

THE TOP TEN SIGNS YOU HAVE AN UNHEALTHY DISNEY OBSESSION
10. You know how many hairs are on the leg of the drunken pirate sitting on the bridge.
9. You have more Disney movies than Blockbuster.
8. Your favorite song is "Zippity-Doo-Dah".
7. When you hear people talking about "the underprivileged", you assume they are referring to those who have to stay off-site.
6. You refer to Wal-Mart and McDonald's employees as "cast members".
5. You've added spires and turrets to the roof of your house.
4. You tried to pay your electric bill with Disney Dollars.
3. Your children's names are Ariel and Alladin.
2. You pray that nobody will ever discover your dirty little secret: That you sneak out of bed in the middle of the night, logon to the internet, and drool over online pictures of WDW.
1. You're reading this.
:lmao:

Thank you everyone,
Jon

Jon sending you all my thoughts and wishes over the next few weeks! Its going to be hard but youll get through it

Hello my DIS friends! Wow! It looks like we’re about ready for Chapter 4 here on the DIS!! I know I've been completely MIA here, and I'm sorry about that! I thought I better pop in to say hello!! :wave2:

As many of you know, I was laid off in June. Then the first week of July, my grandmother needed 24x7 live-in assistance, so my life has been about 90% on-hold since then. After many delays and unexpected tragedies, she's recovering from surgery right now!! I'm hopeful to go back to my home in 2-3 weeks (we're about 85 miles apart)! So top priority has to be to get a job before the cruise’s final payment is due because unemployment payment is about to run out, which also means the savings account will be running out sooner than later, and I MUST go on this vacation with all of you!! (Well, I kinda need the money to pay for food and shelter, but ya know....DCL is the golden ticket!). I miss so many of you!

I have to say though, that even if the cards don’t work out that I can come, I have no regrets taking this time to be with grandmother. It’s not been easy, but I feel so blessed to have had all this precious time with her! She went on our last Disney cruise with us, and she knows how badly I want to go on this one! Sooooo, I know there are some prayers going up for that right job to intercept me!

Admittedly, I haven’t had the time to be on DISboards, so I’m very out of the loop. I’ve also been putting off planning in fear that I won’t get to go. This week I decided that I need the encouragement of planning to keep my spirits up! So I’ll do my best to keep up with you all again, although it will be even easier once I get home.

BTW, I noticed a ticker today showing 2 months, 2 weeks, and 5 days. You know what that means, right?!

Awe...Jon I'm so sorry.

Hey ERIK!! I hope you all have as much of a successful season as you did last year...and more! :cheer2: :cheer2: You have so much to be proud about!

Glad things are starting to settle down with you. I hope that you will still be able to join us but if not I'm sure youll be cruising again soon. Stay positive

Just wanted to be the 3750th post in this thread! Looks like we'll be moving to chapter 4 very very soon now!

Oh, and very glad I booked the USAir flight this week, as prices have gone back up to the almost $1000 mark for our flight that we got for $400!! Woo hoo!

My DW called this afternoon to tell me that Monty (step dad) had just passed away.

My condolences to you and your family.

My Grandmother's funeral is today. Things have been very hectic with the arrangements and legal things we have had to handle. She lived a long life ans died on my birthday at 95 years old. Yesterday when I was writing the eulogy, so many wonderful memories were coming to mind and I realized that if I had so many wonderful memories there had to be many more people with their own memories and what a wonderful woman she was. I did not realize the true scope of the the woman until she passed away and I sat down to write the eulogy.

Oh, and very glad I booked the USAir flight this week, as prices have gone back up to the almost $1000 mark for our flight that we got for $400!! Woo hoo!

Looks like they released some more cheap seats on USAirways.

They have Thursday nonstop available for $436 Philly to BCN.

They also have a weird set up that sometimes the one way pricing will still have a return flight date. Just make sure you selected one way and put the date you want into both boxes. It will sort itself out in the end. Took me a while to figure that out!;)

Thank you to everyone for their well wishes, thoughts, and prayers over the past week. My DW called this afternoon to tell me that Monty (step dad) had just passed away.

Jon,
Sorry to hear of your loss. Our prayers are with you both.

Those buses still haunt me. Sure wish I was at the DL Hotel with the Captain instead of being thrown (not by choice) in charge of the Ho Jo buses.

Aye ..... You know when sailing with the Captain me sails be full and me keeps me schedule true ....even with the sweat of my brow and the strength in my back(and the help of me crew mates) we managed the mountain of luggage ...:lmao::lmao:

I am a first time poster to this forum and still have a lot to learn. I am cruising on the WB TA cruise on 9/18/10. I already have a reservation and have paid my deposit, but I didn't tell Disney that a member of my travel group is active duty military. I called back to tell them and they said that they are not offering military discounts for this cruise, at least not yet.

Any tips? Should I just keep checking? I was told that even though I already made my reservation, i could still get the discount if it is offered later. The discount is pretty substantial so I am really eager to learn how to increase my odds of getting the discount. Thanks.

Thanks Su,
we are onboard with transatlanticpirates and are working on our FE.
