Thank Sue for the help, when I enlarge the logo from transatlanticpirates.com/ to 8x11 regular printing paper thats when it gets fuzzy/ blurry. It could be that I am doing something wrong when printing to a large size.

Again thanks for the help.

also hope this reply works, new to the forum thing..

Glenn can correct me if I am wrong, but I think that the logos are all low resolution - more for screen than print. Not sure if we have a higher resolution one - I will ask.

Easy and cheap to go one way, from glasgow though, and ireland, they go to barcelona also.

Las Vegas was loud, the pool was music blasting all the time, everybody either tried to sell you stuff or just want money from us. I just found it a bit stressful but so pleased to have expeiranced it.

Flown a few times always been very good but have had mixed reviews.
It was ridik in hollywood, sat in traffic for 4 hours, should have known when we seen the helicopters!! doh.

45!!! way tooooooooooo hot even for me.

:cool2:welcome.

I think it is very very cool

Great looking tink

I am a first time poster to this forum and still have a lot to learn. I am cruising on the WB TA cruise on 9/18/10. I already have a reservation and have paid my deposit, but I didn't tell Disney that a member of my travel group is active duty military. I called back to tell them and they said that they are not offering military discounts for this cruise, at least not yet.

Any tips? Should I just keep checking? I was told that even though I already made my reservation, i could still get the discount if it is offered later. The discount is pretty substantial so I am really eager to learn how to increase my odds of getting the discount. Thanks.

IF a military discount is offered, it can be applied to up to 3 cabins with one qualifying military person. That person MUST sail with you--if he gets orders and can't be on the ship, the military rate is lost.

How to get it--keep checking. There are several web sites that show all current DCL discounts available. My TA will automatically computer track all ressies and nail them if anything I qualify for opens up. DCL will apply a lower rate IF one becomes available for your sailing, your category AND you (or TA) calls and asks them. It isn't automatic. You will get a refund even after the final payment date. I'll PM you.

I'm checking in here from time to time, but have several trips before this one. It's hard for me to get into them other than one at a time. I'll undoubtedly become more active this summer.

Welcome aboard!!!

THANKS!!!! :thumbsup2 Grabbed airline direct out of Phila to BCN on the 16th. It's getting real now!!!!

Booked air, booked hotel, booked cruise! Okay - the only thing PIF is the air so far but that's cool. Now just need to worry about flight home from MCO but SW doesn't release their next round of availabilty until sometime in March.

Welcome aboard!!!

I remember the fun I had of getting on that already loaded bus with my broken foot. If my parents would have made it to the cruise I am still not sure where they and their luggage would have went.;):upsidedow

Well I'm about to become a lot more active on this thread! We have airfare!!!

Terry and I are on flight 742 on the 16th! Woo Hoo!!:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

Now the trip is becoming more real to me. Now to find a room. Looking at the Praktik Rambla. It has 8 rooms left on the 17th. I'll talk to Terry in the morning and see if she wants to reserve one of them.

See you all in part 4!

TA2,is on the ship.

Hurray!!!! Among all the stressful events and bad news it seems is happening in many of our lives right now it is nice to see a post worth celebrating. Congrats to the girls and to you.

Just realised my previous post was #1000 :cool1:

:woohoo::woohoo: it just keeps going and going. AMazing how addictive the DIS is:rolleyes1

If you get bored on the cruise, you can teach my will be 6 year old DD a new cheer to bring back to her team... :) :rotfl2:

On our 2007 TA, several of us parents wanted him to conduct a cartwheel class onboard:rotfl2:

I am so jealous of all of you who are "locked in" now with air fare. We can't even look at that unitl we get approval from the school--likely in April.

So where are the other children of the 80s on the thread?:confused3

We were just pulling down the streamers from Rio's birthday party. Marika wrapped him uo in a set. Why?
Marika: We're seeing what a mummy would look like if he were going to a party.
Rio: A dead man's party!
Both: Oh, put on Oingo Boingo:lmao:

we have sooo warped our poor children:sad2::rotfl2:

Sorry, Terry and I are officially geezers. In fact this is our 60th birthday celebration! Our children are children of the 80s. But we are fun geeezers. Promise. :dance3::dance3:

kcashner - thanks for the great information!

I was wondering about cabin selection. I did a 4 night sailing on the wonder and had a balcony (cat 4). I was sailing alone so there was a toon of room and i liked it but i felt it was kind of wasteful - short cruise and just me. Now i am getting ready to sail on the TA with a friend and we are cat 11 GTY. Cat 4 is so expensive (prohibitive, really) but i was weighing whether or not to upgrade to Cat 8 - while there wont be much to look at "at sea", the window would provide a lot of light and the room is a bit bigger. For those of you with so much experience, which is the best value? would I enjoy Cat 8 that much more (especially for 2 WEEKS?) Thanks.

Also - silly question. How do each of you copy, or "quote" a prior posting when you respond to questions on the thread? I can't figure out how to get the prior posting to show up in the "quote" box? Thanks.

Does anyone know if there will be new shows or how often disney updates the shows?

I have sailed once before on a 4 night on the wonder in feb 2008. I remember the golden mickeys, disney dreams, etc. I missed the debut of toy story by one week (so sad). I am just curious what they will do for entertainment on a 14 night cruise and/or if the live entertainment shows will be the same ones I saw previously or updated?

Thanks!

On the cabin selection, we sailed three times in suites, then sailed a week or so ago in a Cat 8 cabin to see if we could survive it, since we've booked Cat 8 GTY for this cruise. We decided that we really like the light from the window, and didn't really use the verandahs enough to warrant paying a lot extra for them. I noticed that Cat 9 and 8 GTY have been available recently for this sailing (at least for a party of 4 that has been sold out for awhile) so I'd consider them if you want to ensure some natural light in your room.

What I liked about the Cat 8 GTY, and why we picked it over the Cat 9, though it was an extra $100 or so at the time we booked, is that the Cat 8 rooms are all located under staterooms, while some of the Cat 9 rooms are located under less desirable locations like kitchens, night clubs, etc. Also, by booking GTY, which means that Disney will assign us a room as we get closer to the sailing date, and that we are guaranteed to get a room that is at least the category booked (Cat 8 in our instance) we could get a higher category room assigned, which would mean a free verandah room upgrade. So we were willing to take our chances on the room assignment.

With your Cat 11 GTY room, you'll get at least an standard inside room on a higher deck without the split bath. You could get as high as a Category 8 assigned since DCL doesn't usually go above 3 categories on free upgrades. But those large upgrades are usually reserved for 1st time cruisers and you've cruised before. You always want to make sure you book a room that you will be comfortable sailing in, since there is no guarantee you will get an upgrade, or that an upgrade will be available to purchase at the port.

One other thing nice about the Cat 8 room that we just stayed in, was the convenience and proximity to the adult and entertainment areas of the ship. That was actually a drawback for us, with 2 small kids, but seems like it would be really nice for someone who actual uses those areas of the ship.

If it's in your budget, and you wouldn't be happy with a Cat 11 or 10 room for 2 weeks, then I'd take the window room. But if you only plan to be in your room for sleeping, and can get your daylight fix in the public areas of the ship, then save the money for more fun things and take the chances on a pixie dust upgrade to Cat 9 or 8.

The new Vilians show that is replacing Golden Mickeys should be on the ship in March so that will be a new show. I think the ship only has room backstage for three big shows, so that's a limiting factor on the big shows they can stage on longer cruises.

I don't have personal experience on an extended cruise as 7 days was my longest but (1) golden mickey's is being retired and replaced with a new villains show. (2) the longer cruises over twiced charmed. (3) I understand they offer a couple of other shows and additional entertainment. So, bottom line, you'll probably only see one show again - Disney Dreams.

Hi ..... if you look in the bottom right of each post you will see a symbol with the " on it ( the middle one). If you click on that symbol on any post you want to quote or reply to, then it will light up orange. Then when you click on reply, the quotes will show up on your reply. Hope that makes sense :rotfl:

Thats an interesting question ..... perhaps some of those who did the last transatlantc cruises will be able to enlighten us. I would imagine they would have to have quite a bit new stuff for 14 nights. I just hope they don't have that female ventriloquist we saw on the Magic.
