One month ago we were quoted for 2 adults...

Manchester to Barcelona £250

Cruise with balcony £2500

One way flight home £2200

Total about £5000

Last Saturday we booked flights direct to Barcelona,a CAT 'who cares' and a flight home all for £2350.....:rofl2:

Heather YES '2' ADULTS dear.....:rolleyes1

WELCOME! :woohoo:

We are at the Praktik Rambla now... if its rubbish I'm blaming you all :rotfl:

Hmmm - yes all 3 are adults and in the emails (to two different staff) no one mentioned about an age restriction on the 3rd person. They told me to book a double and ask for the 3rd bed in the "comments" - I put there that we are 3 adults so if its an issue, we can switch to a single and a double room I guess. I'll see what they come back with - I'm guessing I'll hear from them shortly about it if they can't accommodate 3 adults in the same room.
Oh like I said-
That might have just been the response I was given because I asked if we booked 2 rooms for our family of 5, if the 3rd child could be in one of the rooms with us.
they probably just responded that way since I was asking about "another child" as the 3rd person in one of the rooms. I apologize if there was any misunderstanding- I was trying to assure you that they do allow 3 in the room according to their reply to me, I wasn't trying to make you think it wouldn't be possible! :)

Yah!!! if they've told you it's okay with 3- then I'm sure it is!! :) I hope you don't have to pay for another room. :)

Thank you to everyone for their well wishes, thoughts, and prayers over the past week. My DW called this afternoon to tell me that Monty (step dad) had just passed away.

I won't be around much for the next week or so. Flying to Winnipeg, Manitoba then driving to North Dakota. I hope everyone has a good weekend and week to come.

Just have to say that I am both thankful and proud of my DW for spending the time to stay with my mom and help with Monty during his last days.

Now to hopefully convert some of the sadness into cheer.

THE TOP TEN SIGNS YOU HAVE AN UNHEALTHY DISNEY OBSESSION
10. You know how many hairs are on the leg of the drunken pirate sitting on the bridge.
9. You have more Disney movies than Blockbuster.
8. Your favorite song is "Zippity-Doo-Dah".
7. When you hear people talking about "the underprivileged", you assume they are referring to those who have to stay off-site.
6. You refer to Wal-Mart and McDonald's employees as "cast members".
5. You've added spires and turrets to the roof of your house.
4. You tried to pay your electric bill with Disney Dollars.
3. Your children's names are Ariel and Alladin.
2. You pray that nobody will ever discover your dirty little secret: That you sneak out of bed in the middle of the night, logon to the internet, and drool over online pictures of WDW.
1. You're reading this.
:lmao:

Thank you everyone,

Love the list - I too see myself in quite a few!!

Anyhow...thought I'd log on quickly to chime in, say we're still here, we're still going (doing the B2B actually) and I definitely AM still doing lanyards.
Welcome back Erik & Jason.

Sad news. My condolences to you and your family.

Thanks for the cheer. I loved the list!

Hello my DIS friends! Wow! It looks like we’re about ready for Chapter 4 here on the DIS!! I know I've been completely MIA here, and I'm sorry about that! I thought I better pop in to say hello!! :wave2:

As many of you know, I was laid off in June. Then the first week of July, my grandmother needed 24x7 live-in assistance, so my life has been about 90% on-hold since then. After many delays and unexpected tragedies, she's recovering from surgery right now!! I'm hopeful to go back to my home in 2-3 weeks (we're about 85 miles apart)! So top priority has to be to get a job before the cruise’s final payment is due because unemployment payment is about to run out, which also means the savings account will be running out sooner than later, and I MUST go on this vacation with all of you!! (Well, I kinda need the money to pay for food and shelter, but ya know....DCL is the golden ticket!). I miss so many of you!

I have to say though, that even if the cards don’t work out that I can come, I have no regrets taking this time to be with grandmother. It’s not been easy, but I feel so blessed to have had all this precious time with her! She went on our last Disney cruise with us, and she knows how badly I want to go on this one! Sooooo, I know there are some prayers going up for that right job to intercept me!

Admittedly, I haven’t had the time to be on DISboards, so I’m very out of the loop. I’ve also been putting off planning in fear that I won’t get to go. This week I decided that I need the encouragement of planning to keep my spirits up! So I’ll do my best to keep up with you all again, although it will be even easier once I get home.

BTW, I noticed a ticker today showing 2 months, 2 weeks, and 5 days. You know what that means, right?!

Awe...Jon I'm so sorry.
....plus I am right in the middle of cheerleading season now :cheer2::cheer2::cheer2: official competition season for our squad began two weeks ago ....

Hey ERIK!! I hope you all have as much of a successful season as you did last year...and more! :cheer2: :cheer2: You have so much to be proud about!

Don' forget to add the sales tax.

When our European friends visit, they are taken aback when we go to a restaurant. Start with the price of the meal. Add 9.75% tax. Then tip 15-20%.

It can be very confusing.

Woody

I know!!! We have Goods and Sales Tax (GST) here, it is 10% and is added into the marked price of everything, So it will say $2 (inc GST), No adding and No Tipping! So much easier! I have no problem paying the higher amounts, It's just easier when making a decision on something to know the price upfront. ;)

I agree, it's so much easier.

We visited Australia last year (Sydney, Whitsunday Island, Cairns, and Darwin). It was so simple to go into a store, see a price of $4.95, hand the clerk $5.00, and get change.

Also, love the Tim Tams!

Woody

We have no sales tax in Montana or in Oregon where we lived for 20 years previously and it is hard to figure all that in to know how much something REALLY costs. 4.95 in Montana is 4.95, unless you are in a situation where you would need to tip......yes, it gets complicated! :sad2:

I think a bus would be a great idea - we had a fab group organise buses for our EB Panama Canal picking up from the DL area hotels - its was a real highlight of the trip - including a grocery store stop for grog.

It was highly amusing watching our very own Capt'n Jack trying to get the mountains of luggage into the bus! :rotfl:

Those buses still haunt me. Sure wish I was at the DL Hotel with the Captain instead of being thrown (not by choice) in charge of the Ho Jo buses.

Just a quick hello . I havnt had the time I thought i'd have to keep up with everyone here.
Been nursing a dog after surgery and that has slowed me down. Plus she may need a 2nd surgery, and my mom is very ill still so the two have taken most of my time.

I will try to get to read back a few pages when I can.
I do try to lurk when possible and one day, I hope to be posting more often.

Have a great weekend everyone,

Kathy

Kathy, sorry you are having trials and troubles. Hopefully all will resolve for you soon. Hugs for your mom and your dog. :grouphug:
