Cherry Ripes! Yum! We can get these here occasionally now too (thank goodness).

Ages ago we talked about doing a candy/chocolate swap where everyone brings along some items from their country or region - is there still any interest in this?
Sounds like a good idea, I made tablet for our last cruise.
I think on our last cruise we had nearly 140 FE participants - thats a lot of gifts LOL
Sure is!
and because I was working on a 12 hour shift yesterday I didn't get on the computer and I forgot to say this:

HAPPY BIRTHDAY LYNNE !!!!!!

:yay::yay::yay::yay::yay::yay::yay::yay:

Hope you had a lovely day :hug::hug:

There are nasty rumours of more snow next week! I'm so not looking forward to that. We've got grandads funeral on Monday and its going to be a nightmare if we have more snow! Hate this! Did make it to work today!

Oh I forgot too! I bunged it in my calendar I thought but missed it!

:wizard:

Thanks guys, Sarah, Im away to switzerland on sat, but I will take a moment to think about you on Monday, hope you all get through it.

What about a book swap? I know that I'll be bringing a few books and will finish them quickly, esp with 6 sea days.

Just wondering what exactly "tablet" is .... sounds medicinal :confused3
Have a wonderful time in Switzerland by the way.

Great idea ... I think someone has mentioned that at some point earlier on .. I will probably bring a book or two.

Whats the last film you watched and did you enjoy it?

I was forced to watch the new star trek and I have to admit it was pretty good( but I dont like star trek)

The Princess and The Frog. I adored it. I'm originally from Louisianna, and boy did they nail the accents and little expressions. So awesome!

Which weight are we watching, luggage or waistline weight? :rotfl2:

I was wondering too? Also is there a cut-off date so we have definate numbers and time to organise?

:lmao::rotfl: I guess we need to watch BOTH weights!! :rotfl2:

Hi everyone, I have been reading along just have not been posting.

This past weekend, I was in Daytona Beach for my youngest son's wedding. Here are a few pictures.

http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pi...&id=1287373415

We flew down on Friday but had an hour delay in Columbus because of plane trouble. My sister picked us up in Orlando and I drove us to Daytona Beach. My son and his wife had planned to have the ceremony on the beach but the weather really did not cooporate at all so they had to move it inside. It was beautiful. Lots of good company, food and a little drinking!!!

My son chose to play Blackbird by the Beatles for our dance. It was very emotional. My DH's brother was killed by an irresponsible person who left the hospital before he should have and passed out and hit my BIL while he was working on a brick wall repairing work from an accident a month earlier. He had just called us the day before so happy to tell us the news that he and his DW were expecting their first. Jake was born 8 months later never knowing his dad. His father Brad used to sing Beatles songs to my kids and when my DD got married, she had this song played for her and my DH. Of course we all did the ugly cry. Plus Jake was her ring bearer at age 9. This summer he will be 17.

She said it was okay for Stevie to play it for us to dance. So this time we were trying not to do the ugly cry!!!

My oldest son Howie is a photographer and he took pictures. He got some fantastic pictures of Steve and Michelle on the beach.

Hope you can see the pictures!!!!! :goodvibes

Yes, that's what I was thinking and the weight limit on BA will give me a problem. On the EB Panama we had over a 100 cabins and I had problems then when we were allowed 2 cases each on Virgin. If we had smaller groups, it would make it easier all round.

Ghiradelli chocolates for us, DW took her board name (hotfudgesundae) from her favourite item off their menu in DTD :cloud9: Allways have to bring a bag home with us evey year and ration them. :)

Yum, yum..gotta love their hot fudge.

I organised the FE exchange on my last cruise and we ended up splitting into 3 groups, as people felt that was more manageable when it came to packing. We had about 18 in each group if I recall. It was really good fun :woohoo:

That's a great idea.

I am spoiled as it is everywhere in San Francisco. However, it is not my favorite as I love Cadbury (but the bars we get here in the States are different than if you get it in the UK).

If we were to split into groups I would be interested in doing this - I think my max would be 25-30 people.

I have done it in the past and really had a good time, but I just did not think it was feasible for me to do going forward since after my last cruise it was around 100 people - which was looking like a separate suitcase for FE gifts.

I would be happy to participate in a candy swap: Here in Canuckland we have good things like ketchup chips, Smarties, and Caramilk bars. MMMmmm.

Sorry to say but we are having unseasonably warm weather again: just near freezing and no snow. Likin' it!

HI everybody:goodvibes Some of you may remember me--other will have no idea who I am. I was on the thread a long while back. Our family moved to Germany andlife got too busy for me to keep up with two meet threads (especially becuase this one moves FAST) so I concentrated on the one for the cruise I took last month. Now I get to focus on the TA again:cheer2:

My name is Hadley. I will be sailing with DH David, DD13 Marika and DS11 Rio. We get to dine with some of the most fun people ever--Erik and Jason--I imagine Erik has been posting steadliy and you all know him by now. He handles most of the lanyards, but I play a small role in that too (more on that in a few days;)). We are super excited to do another TA (we did the first) and see many great friends as we sail.

I have not been reading along (sorry:flower3:). From this page alone I see there is a book swap (DD got a kindle for CHristmas so I think we can load it up and not need more:woohoo:) and a candy swap (I am all for that and will bring German chocolates--probably Ritter or Kinder). Anything else i NEED to know right now???:rotfl:

Welcome back, Hadley! :goodvibes I've been on and off the thread myself but I am getting more and more excited the closer we get!

I like this idea and would love to participate if we split into smaller groups if needed!

HI Hadley.... welcome back .... great to see you posting again ... we missed you

Check out the new www.transatlanticpirates.com website for sign ups for everything so far .... Sue has taken this over because Stephanie switched cruises and a lot of others have changed and jumped ship along the way. So it made sense to start again from scratch.

Hope you have settled well in Germany. :goodvibes:goodvibe

I would happily trade some Cadbury's chocolate for some Reeces Peanut Butter cups .....

Cadbury's :lovestruc yum!! I went to college for a year in Birmingham, England so I ended up getting addicted to Cadbury's chocolate. I'll bring you some Reese's Peanut Butter Cups!!
