We are hoping to do the 7/26 also:) We can't book until next Monday though:headache:

Linda

I think you will have no trouble getting on this cruise next week. I was able to get main dining when I finally got thru around 10 am. I booked an 11C (old 12) GTY. As long as we are on the ship,:thumbsup2 where we sleep does not matter. :) Right at $2600 for the two adults.

We will be excited to sail with you again!!!!! :woohoo::dance3:

Good bye! I just couldn't work through the flight anxiety of flying to Barcelona, so we traded this cruise in for the Panama Canal.

We did the same the last time the Magic did the transatlantic and I have not for one minute regretted the decision. The PC trip was absolutely amazing!! You will enjoy, but we will miss meeting you.

The LA to VAncouver was dirt cheap honestly. It cost us less than a 4 night on the Wonder!

OMG I am so tempted - we would have to transfer from the Transatlantic unfortunately but I have always wanted to go to San Francisco - and if we could combine this cruise with an Alaska cruise and add a couple of days at the start in LA then that to me would be more attractive than the TA - the only problem is waiting another 6 months to cruise. I think I have some serious decisions to make!:confused3

Rumour has it that the 50% discount on deposit may be ending on Wednesday!

Awww - that's not fair for us lowly Silver cruisers! :sad2:

I booked Alaska 7/26 cruise for the 2 of us. $2600 for Cat11C GTY. We are happy cruisers. I waited on the phone for a little over 90 minutes. Still got early dining so I think that particular cruise had not filled up fast.

Great price! :thumbsup2 I hope there's still room left onboard for us when I (try to) book next Monday! :upsidedow

Updated - was looking on DCL site at price to upgrade reservation and it seems all categories bar 12 are now available to purchase

Wow - there must be a lot of deserters then! I may change Cat. but I won't be cancelling this cruise since it's what DH picked for his 40th celebration. :goodvibes

You'll love the PC cruise. We were on the WB Repo last year and would do it again in a heartbeat! :lovestruc Sadly it would be too close to this WBTA and the dates don't really work for us this time around.

I'd do them ALL, if only I had the money! :sad2: Time I have lots of. :)

I really really really want to do both cruises - but I more than likely will have to take DS to WDW at some point too so the finances won't stretch to 2 DCL cruises and 1 WDW trip in less than 12 months - if only we lived in US and din't have to worry about long expensive flights!

Were trying to fit in 3 weeks with this one and cover WDW in the extra week. Im still not sure about the repo one to vancouver but sent a request in and a ressie is showing on my CC details but no pricing

Well, my day has gone from bad to worse. It all started when I got to work and found out that our call recording software has yet again gone up the creek. This is the last month of the quarter as far as the quarterly bonus is concerned, which will be paid out in October. We have until October 7th to hand this in for our teams, but of course I will be at Cozumel that day. So I agreed with my boss that I will hand it in on September 29th and just use data up to September 28th. A large part of the scheme is call quality and I have to monitor 10 calls for each of my 15 team members. For that I get 2 days each month (or that's the plan anyway). In July, I had my days of the floor and the system that we use was down. Not a problem, I had to do some one to ones anyway and there were a number of meetings that I had to schedule. In August my days were re-scheduled due to staff shortages and the new dates were in September. So I finally had my days off the floor and 3 out of 4 days were taken up for the most part with One to Ones, appraisals and meetings. I finally had a whole day to do my call monitoring only to be told half way through that our quality officer had not realised that I was down to monitor calls that day and the engineer was in to fix some bugs on the call recording system. They had to take it down. Unfortunately it still has not come back up. Somehow I managed to do all but the calls of one team member. Eternal optimist that I am, I figured: No problem, I still have two hours off the floor on Tuesday. I do life call monitoring then for the last few calls. Then I read my emails and the person in question had a family emergency and had to go back home on very short notice and won't be back until I am already on vacation

The rest of the day ticked along quite nicely and I was looking forward to getting home, have a Pear Cider, put Angels and Demons on and work on my FE gifts. All seemed to go well until one of my new staff picked a call up with 30 minutes to go where a customer was upset that their seating had been changed. They somehow managed to allocate themselves bassinet positions even though they have no infant and then got upset because they were moved when the seating was needed for a family with infants. Once I realized that my team member had a hard time with the customer and it was home time, I took over the call. The customers argued with me for a further hour. We don't get paid overtime either.

I had forgotten my cellphone at home and DH is away on business. When I got home, I was just about to ring him when I saw that he had texted me 15 minutes earlier that he was heading for bed. So I did not want to risk waking him up.

So instead I head on here and realize that the Panama Canal Cruise that we had set our heart on is just more expensive then what we are willing to pay. Not only that, but the other possible cruises are silly prices as well apart from the Transatlantics, but after doing two of those in 2010, I don't think we need to do another one in 2011. Where is that banging your head against the wall smiley when you need it?

Not all was bad though. DH's embarkation t shirt arrived today in record time. I suddenly got a text at 1:00 am from DH that he cannot sleep. As I am in the same position, I gave him a call back straight away. We both decided that the Panama Canal Cruise is really not an option, but we are now considering doing a back to back Caribbean Cruise over our 13th anniversary in 2011. We should have enough DVC points to pay for one cruise on points and will pay for the other. DH has also promised me that if we are on the Magic on our 13th anniversary (we got married on a Friday 13th), we will renew our wedding vows. That is definitely something to look forward to. So I suppose all is well that ends well.

Whew!! Made me tired and stressed reading that. :flower3: I am so, so glad I am retired :woohoo:and no longer have to listen to angry people one right after the other. :sad2:

I am hoping it stays that way for next week when I can book that and the 1st Alaska. I am one cruise short of Gold. We had seriously contemplated cruising last week just so we would have qualified for early booking, plus whatever the onboard booking discount to transfer for both cruises. By the time the cruise happens we will be gold though.;)

Corinna, sounds like the day from hell. At least you got a few things sorted out!

Well, I feel a lot happier today. I finally went to sleep at about 2:30, but I am on the late shift today and that is allowed. I will have a doctor's appointment tonight during my dinner break at work and then the countdown to the vacation will start in earnest.

Corinna

Corina, although I probably would have paid original price for pc cruise, it has already gone up and i object to paying more, really not sure what to do now, might head back to la and do a MR, really not sure.
We really wanted to do disney marathon in 2011, thats jan, then cruise for 40th birthd, but of course the wonder is away, magic dates dont fit leaving on a sun and new ship will 99% be a no no for various reasons.
Its a hard life:cool2:

I thought I was the only one that thought it was super stressful to go on hols.

Going on holiday is not stressful. Everybody around you playing up just before you go is ;)

Well, after the first disappointment about not being able to do the Panama Canal Cruise, this has actually worked out for the better for us I think. The timing of this would have been far from ideal even though we could have made it work. There are always other chances maybe with another cruise line. I just checked prices on NCL for next year and we could do a Panama Canal Cruise on the sister ship of the one we were on in May for less than GBP800 per person, same length, similar itinerary, but out of Miami.

DH made a very wise remark in the early morning hours. He told me that he just loves cruising and being on a ship and is not that worried about where we are going. I have to admit that I feel the same. After all, on our last cruise (in May), we never really got off the ship.

So once the 2011 cruise are bookable online and I can see the prices and dates for the Caribbean cruises, the planning can start in earnest. I can't believe that I finally get to plan my vow renewal, which has been postponed three times already. I think I have even already chosen the dress:

Both my evening gowns are from the same company and they are gorgeous and a perfect fit.

Well I have DU trying to look at sorting out the LA repo at the moment and its driving me mad. We need 2 different rooms at 2 different levels which is the issue but they are being great about it! Still also working out logistics as wasn't planning on going for this one yesterday.

How much has the PC gone up by?
