:yay::dance3: Yay!! You are cruising with us!! :woohoo:

So....are you going to take a few extra days and swing over our way? :flower3::yay::woohoo: We are just a long days drive from Vancouver. :flower3: Maybe, maybe!!! You could take the kids to Glacier National Park then over to Yellowstone then fly home from Denver or somewhere. Take a couple of weeks!! Yes! Do it, Lisa, do it!!

Since it is in the summer there shouldn't be a problem with a week on either side to explore. Will wait until you make your plans before deciding before or after the cruise. Is Amtrak near you? I do want to have time to explore Vancouver too.

Us too. :goodvibes I'm not travelling all that way to be soooo close to WDW without visiting the MK!

We are hoping to go to Mk on the day we get off the Magic and then spend one night in a Disney hotel before flying out late the next day.

No more waffling!!! You're stuck with us! :grouphug:

I am glad that you are still sailing with us.

Corinna

Glad you decided to stick with us. This cruise is all about the MAGIC...and the wide open sea. I also really look forward to 3 days on Barcelona.

Woo Hoo!! :dance3: That's what I wanted to hear!

Thanks guys :grouphug::grouphug::grouphug: I am really happy now that I have made a decision and will be getting to meet all of you wonderful people!

Any of you guys been on voyager of the seas?

Is that the one with the ice skating rink on board? If so my parents have sailed the Med on this ship and they enjoyed it. There is a "cobbled street" with shops and restaurants inside the ship!

Looks like we will be sticking with this TA cruise in the end - the practicalities of doing the LA - Vancouver followed by Alaska are more complicated than originally thought - for a start it would involve 2 one-way flights (and longer ones at that) and sorting out one is enough of a headache. Then there is the climate - basically we would be packing for 2 climates - LA and Alaska would be very different and Alaska would require outdoor clothing etc etc which would bump up the packing needs. While I would love to visit San francisco and LA I imagine they would warrant a longer visit than just a day, so maybe back to our original plan to do a road trip one day. Alaska would be done purely for the scenery and we wouldn't need to pay DCL prices to do that - so we are sticking with the WBTA !! Besides I would go crazy if I had to wait another 6 months for the cruise !

LOL! The funny thing is I was just having the same conversation. BA however do do a multi-leg flight for I think it was around £900 for 2 people when I looked flying into LA and out of Vancouver rather than having to do one way flights.

We - Dan and me - have decided that practicalities wise its not an option. Its only 6 months after this one and I really want to do this one! Looking at pricing it would be able 2/3rds what we are paying for this one and we are getting a 21 night holiday with this one so we've cancelled the reservation we had. The cruise price is fantastic but when we added on hotels in LA and Vancouver, trips including Whale Watching, the price just wasn't as good as we thought. As I said to Dan I would rather do a longer cruise with more days at sea to get my money's worth! He has never done a cruise so is happy to go with what I think.

As for the waiting, I agree! Already driving me mad and still too long to go!

My sister is still thinking about the LA-Vancouver but if she does that one she wont be doing this so its all up in the air at the moment. Think shell decide later on if theres still availability.

Us too. :goodvibes I'm not travelling all that way to be soooo close to WDW without visiting the MK!

You could always buy an "open jaw" ticket - flying into one airport and out of another. ;) That's what we did last year for the WBPC Repo and it worked out so much cheaper than buying 2 x one way tix. :thumbsup2

I'm with you on this! Why waste a Transatlantic trip without Disney? We can only get 6 nights in but hey that's 7 days at Disney! Dans already decided our first stop is the Grand Floridian for afternoon tea lol

BA do "open jaws" on thier website as noticed the other day when looking for Vancouver LA. Wonder if they do it with Barcelona?

Has anyone started checking our flight prices yet? I have had a mooch around this morning and most airlines are booking up to August 2010 so hopefully next couple of months should see September and October coming up. I did a price check for a one-way MCO -MAN with Virgin in August and it came up ast $921 per person (ouch!). Hopefully there will be a price drop for October though as August is generally more expensive - also checked out BA, US Airways, United Airlines and they were all way more expensive (and involves flight changes for us to get to Manchester). Looks like it ain't going to be cheap folks!:scared1::scared1::scared1::scared1:

Just cause I'm sad and know which flights I want to catch - BA opens up 350 days in advance Virgin open up 336 days in advance so next Saturday I'm getting my Barcelona flight and October I'm getting my VA flight.

I'm hoping it drops but I also know last time it was a lot! Fingers crossed we can get it cheaper

Just tried to do a multi-city BA but we can't as we aren't doing International flights! BA to Barcelona then Orlando to London doesn't work for the open jaw option damn it!

I just e-mailed disney(a waste of time I know) but It really bugs me this silver/gold thing, now It would not bug me if there was not ways around it, bit clearly there is, silver members posting that they cant wait till next monday, then next thing they are booked with state room, now I dont begrudge them it personaly, but there must be a fairer way, even if I was booked in some round the back door way, It would not be fair on others.

Now I thought I was sad even looking this early but you beat me hands down Sarah by actually knowing the flight release dates :rotfl:

But thanks for the details ...... I will be hopefully booking as soon as they are released too ....

My sister managed to get a booking with me as a Gold member. I'm not 100% sure what would have happened if we'd paid our deposits and then I had opted out because she's only Silver. I agree with you that this forms a nightmare and people seem to be getting around the system somehow! Very frustrating for those who genuingly can't get the cruises. That's why we told the TA to cancel our cruises today so others can have them opened up.

Maybe the ta can keep hold of them, obviously a way around the system, suppose there always is??:lmao:Ive found a few in my time!
I know, got a pm from somebody that would rather not post, she says it was pixie dust, dont blame her for not saying or getting booked, I blame disney.
I meant to say thanks re rci cruise, I think they ships look well cool, might be tempted to try them intstead of disney in 2011.

LOL or I just have too much time on my hands!

Also I like the look of Regeant Seven Seas cruises. Seem reasonable and have some great offers. Also includes all you drink! Panama Canal I think was 6k but hey I could drink that lol only joking. There offers though for next year were cheap - £1000 each for a balcony Alaska!!!!

Have any of you ever checked out the website "vacations to go". If you click on the 90 day ticker you will see some really cheap last minute deals. Lat week there was a 5 day bahamas cruise with RCI for £98 - no joke!

It's hard to compare airfare prices now...not apples to apples anyway. Oneways are more then 1/2 a round trip (which I always found unfair.) And multi-stops....forget it! When I look at August I can get oneway Detroit to BCN for around $750 pp.....for Oct 2009 I come up with as low as, $480pp. I think Sept will be in between. Pretty much the whole Iberian Penninsula is on holiday in August...so i would expect higher prices.
The best site I found so far cheapoair.com and vayama?

You think that's bad, when we needed to get from L.A. to Sydney for a cruise earlier this year, round trip airfare was $1,000, and one way was $1,400. Ouch!

Good prices on that Cheapoair.com - I might look at that if I can't get Virgin at a decent price. Thanks for the links.
