Oh no - the WBTA will only be our 2nd cruise so looks like we are silver - so there was I thinking at least I will be able to book Palo this time as we will be Castaway Club, but now it will be doubtful as I imagine most on this cruise will be gold or platinum so will get in there first! Oh well - can't do much about that unless I quickly book another 5 cruises before the WBTA and I can't see that happening - LOL !

If they limit people to x amount of times, then Palo dinner should be accessible, probably even brunch - since we have so many "at sea" days. I think it will be way easier to book on this cruise as opposed to a 3-4-or 7 day!

Sorry Marilyn and Lynne! Should have explained ourselves (chatting on another thread about it too lol).

Disney's Castaway Club is changing. Basically they are going to do a teired system.

Silver will be for people who have done 1 - 5 previous DCL cruises. You basically get what you get now with this - 90 day booking window and gift and lanyards

Gold will be for those who have done 6 - 10 previous DCL cruises. With this you get an extra gift such as flowers or chocolate and 105 day window for booking trips etc and lanyards

Platinum will be for those who have done 11 + cruises. For this you get a better extra gift such as free Palo and the 105 booking window and lanyards.

Gold and Platinum Members also enjoy early booking opportunities for new itineraries and new ships

Or at least this is what they are telling us as as yet it hasn't been fully implemented on the website. There's also rumours that the lanyards & key to the world cards will vary between levels.

thanks, I was wondering what all that meant

I definitely hope so - we didn't get to visit Palo last cruise (our first) but I would love to do so next time - definitely brunch and possibly dinner too if available. I'll be keeping everything crossed at the time of that 90 day window!

I believe they limit people to 1 booking of Brunch, 1 Afternoon Tea and 1 Dinner or at least they did on the last TA's. I worry more that the dates I want wont be available lol. I planned and everything :D First time I've booked this far ahead so that I can take advantage of the early booking and I don't get to do it as early. Ce La Vie

Howdy everyone,
just checking in for today. I have been gone a lot the last few months it is so hard to keep up with everyone. I try to lurk even if I dont get time to post.

I will be gone for several more weekends or until the weather is too nasty to make the drive to see mom or she passes, so i still wont be posting often, but my thoughts are with everyone and this cruise.
This board is my happy place during stressful times.:grouphug:

Can't wait to meet all of you:goodvibes

WOW! I love the new system.
Since we are cruising in 2 months, on #20 for us i guess we are Platinum:cool1:

Ths cruise will be #21:woohoo::woohoo:

I am already planning out door signs and thinking about FE gifts for this cruise while I'm planning the November one. I am hoping to be more original this time with my gifts and signs.

Well its time to walk my pups and make some calls.
I'll post when I can,

Have a great holiday weekend for all of you in the U.S.:cheer2:

Kathy we are all thoroughly jealous of you right now! 21 cruises!

Ok update still have fingers crossed. The supervisor Roy left a message on my home phone. To let me know he is still working on it and will resolved the issued. Apologized for the miscommunication and apologized for not keeping my disabled room. So he said he will get back to me in a few days.

The more I think about it. I think this is probably what happened. I was guaranteed a handicapped room. But at the time the could not give me a room number. And some how the paper work got messed up and whoever sent out the confimations miss read it and put Guaranteed 11 instead of acknowledging it was a guaranteed 11 handicapped. That is just my guess.

It helped to know Roy called back and left a message. Still trying to stay positive though my walk is like frankenstien right now.

So keep you fingers crossed the pixie dust is working. Thank you all for your support :)

:dance3: We've done 10 so far so :woohoo:. We would be happy to book a double date with someone as well for Palo Tea or brunch. I wouldn't be too upset if we didn't go to Palo for dinner. I love the dining rooms.

Thanks yes stress and MS do not go well together. The biggest issue I have is my scooter. I need my scooter on the ship. Because my balance sucks on a ship. Thus making it very hard to walk. By the end of the day I can barely walk up to steps to sit at the front of the theatre. And if it is hot I struggle just to move my legs.

We talked about just and 11. It will not work. Too dangerous with the scooter in the room and my balance issues.

And with MS I have no idea how I will be in a year. I am just heart broken. Disney made the mistake. We put on the form that we filled out while on the ship when it was announced.

Only want disabled room. So I asked many times I had a guaranteed handicapped room. Yes but they could not tell me which one till closer to the cruise.

When they said yes there was a handicapped room and I forget how many hours they could hold it for me. I paid the deposit right away to not take any chances.

So when the confirmation came in and saif GTY #11 I had no second thought. But something was nagging at my hubby. So I checked it out.

If I could have taken a GTY room I would have booked on line for 250.00

You can only book handicapped rooms on the phone.

I just felt ill yesterday. We felt we won the lottery being able to sail transatlantic. And of course my walking sucked because of the stress.

We have never ever gotten any upgrades or anything special with Disney. But that is OK we never expect too. Just our luck. ROFL

But this was such a great disappointment.

They have had our deposit for almost a year. And that was when our Canadian Dollar took a nose dive. My hubby is not taking vacation this year to pay for the cruise in 2010. It is his birthday on the cruise too.

Just so sad. Thanks for letting me vent.
sending posative thoughts over the atlantic for you.

SO EXCITED!

Air Canada just announced DIRECT flights from Toronto to Barcelona! The price is pretty good, but they only allow you to book round trip tickets (where the price is not so good).

Anyone know if we'll be able to book a one-way to BCN on Air Canada?
Thats why globespan were a good deal, only pay one way,
Just wanted to pop in and say hi. I am off to Rochester, NY tonight for DCA (drum corps associates) championships. I am so excited that 1 year from Friday, I will be headed to Barcelona!

good luck,have fun

Cant believe its coming so quickly!

Marilyn - very confused now! Do you mean Dream & PC cruise? In which case surely they would be after the WBTA? Might be going back.

I wish mine was number 7. See if we lived in Florida I could jump on another one before hand lol
I know we should get double point or something, the effort that goes into cruising for us!

I am sure we will get booked, I bookes stuff for palo last cruise for the sake of it cause I could and ended up not going so I am sure we will get booked if we get up early to do it.

Oh I'm so glad its sounding a bit more positive! Still sending you all the luck I can muster!

LOL we may have a list of people willing to double date the way its going so us poor sods can get Palo. Still living in hope that longer cruises will count as more than short ones as I've done 2 14night cruises and 1 11night cruise plus 2 4nighters!

That sounds a bit more promising. I hope that this gets sorted sooner rather than later.

Well, my bags are packed and I just have today to work. So looking forward to a week at WDW and the family cruise! This will be cruise number 5 for me, so still a silver CC member. I have a pal in Florida (who's a CM) and I think she and I need to take a four day in Jan or Feb, so I can be gold level for this cruise! :lmao: It sounds like a good reason for another cruise.

Good morning everyone,

For anyone who didnt see the news today.
The Disney Wonder rescued a man at sea at 12:15 a.m. today.
Witnesses said he jumped off his balcony of the Carnival Sensation.

It was a miracle to find one man in the dark in the ocean, that was awesome!

He had been treading water for 90 minutes when they found him. The Dr. said he was in good shape just tired.

When they retuned him to PC this morning he was quoted as saying he felt he should be able to get back on the Sensation for this weeks cruise.

No reason listed for why he jumped, but my guess he was drunk;)

I dont think Carnival will welcome him back again:lmao:
