Update- the sun just went away and I found a cat hair ball on the carpet that needs to be cleaned up.

Also I need 3 more post so that I can reply to a private message...

TA2

Keep the updates coming! Just leave the hairball out... :)

Mind you ... credit card isn't exactly safe. Last week someone tried to do 2 money transfers using my credit card details ... fortunately the company was suspicious and blocked the transactions. I'm not impressed as someone obviously had my credit card details from somewhere :mad:
and now I have had to get a new card.

Glad the transactions were blocked - it can be a pain to get stuff reversed...

Either way, you can come for a drinky poo:goodvibes
All singing all dancing apartment with washing machine, dvd and stuff:thumbsup2

So, Lynne, sounds like we need to do a pre cruise meet at your place! :) :cool1:

Welcome back, the pictures are great! I would love to see the Alps!

Has anyone tried or seen the "First Class Sleeper"? I am worried about jet lag combining with grumpy, tired, hungry kids bringing out my worst... This was designed by a pilot, and there is a money back guarantee, so... I am thinking that if I could sleep that I could handle whatever Spain brings...

I think it looks like a good idea. I would just have to order it a month in advance or so if I needed to take advantage of the money back guarantee. That plus my earplugs, eye mask and heavy duty sleeping pill, makes me think I can sleep for eight hours!!!

I was thinking that a couple of adult beverages, an ambien and my ipod could do it, but I am not sur that is fair to DH... :scared1: And, since someone has to make sure the kids get on the plane, I think I will have to skip the ambien...

I will go along with the adult beverages. That will help Stephanie and I get ready for the many "Drink of the Day" drinks we plan on having!!!! The "Spa Twins" have a reputation to uphold!!!!

I must live a sheltered life or something. LOL I've never heard of it! But I had to go look it up and by gosh I may buy one of those! Sometimes I can't even get a PILLOW on a flight and it makes a miserable flight for me. But even the pillow isn't all that great. This looks comfy- the only thing I'd be afraid of is they even mention the belt holding you in your seat (so you don't slide off in that position with the sleeper behind you) and that might be uncomfortable? But I think I'm willing to give it a go.... especially because this is a longer flight than we've ever done before, and we'll be flying several times in the next year or two -so it's not like I'd be buying it for just ONE flight.

Like someone else said- I might wait a bit in case I hate it (money back guarantee) LOL But thanks for telling us about it. :)

Thats an interesting question ..... perhaps some of those who did the last transatlantc cruises will be able to enlighten us. I would imagine they would have to have quite a bit new stuff for 14 nights. I just hope they don't have that female ventriloquist we saw on the Magic.

On the EB Panama they did extra shows with the comedians, ventriloquists and a couple of others - in one of the Mexico stops (I think ... can't remember where exactly now) they had a local musical group come onboard one night for a show.

TA2, dont you just love animals, last week my beagles were digging in the snow for cat poo,I never thought they found any until they vomited it all up over me new rug(which is now old and in the skip) the smell was revolting, eeww, animals!

LOL don't you just love dogs? I'm busily typing this trying not to look like I'm going to move as its that special time of day where the think they get fed - their watches are only about 1 hour early!

I replied over on FB...

Something that I found helps me sleep on the plane is boring music on my ipod, I have found a fabulous piece of renaissance lute music which is quite probably the most mind numbing thing ever written (I'm more a pop kinda girl). I find once I put it on, two tracks into it I'm asleep - I wake up, find its finished, change position in my seat, hit play again and I'm off to sleep in no time. Broken sleep but it works...

Thank you for the positive thoughts everyone! I'm sure the job situation will work out! Everything else that's happened around this has shown its purpose, so I'm doing my best to keep the chin up and think positively that it will work out for me!

Donna, Kathy, Jon, and others who have been going through difficult times, you're in my thoughts and prayers!

I am a first time poster to this forum and still have a lot to learn. I am cruising on the WB TA cruise on 9/18/10.....

Welcome!! :woohoo: You've found a wonderful group of people who are very happy to answer your questions and make you feel a part of the group!

TA2,is on the ship....Thank you all for such great information an great fun.

 Woo Hoo!! Welcome to the madness!
…Kimberly--It is good to see you posting. I just came back myself. I had not known about your grandmother. I know how thrilled you were to bring her on the Double Dip and she always seemed so happy there every time I saw you. The gift of your time which you gave her then and have given her even more of these past few months is the most loving thing I can think of. What a wonderful granddaughter you are:goodvibes I will send so mant positive thoguhts your way--I really DO hope you will be gainfully emplyed and cruising with us….
Awe, Hadley. You are way too sweet. Thank you for your kind words! You’re indeed one of many that I miss a lot! Glad we can have these DIS dates again now we’re both getting back on!

....I am very proud of how our girls performed.....and even prouder to say that were now officially:

:cheer2::cheer2:MONROE COUNTY DIVISION 1 CHAMPIONS:cheer2::cheer2:

:yay: SWEET! :yay: Congratulations to you and your team! Keep going!!

....Now to find a room. Looking at the Praktik Rambla. It has 8 rooms left on the 17th...
....The Praktik Rambla is going to be a party that's for sure! It will be like a Dis meet before the cruise. :dance3:

Well that's down another notch because at the suggestion of Melodie, I booked Praktik Rambla myself! :goodvibes I booked on their site directly, but before I did, I saw on another site it said they had 4 rooms left. :scared1: I read that they only have 21 rooms, so indeed we should have majority "rule" on the terrace-solarium Friday night!

.....switzerland was AMAZIng, everybody should see the alps, just once, glad to be home though!...

Indeed amazing photos, that's for sure!! I'm glad you had a fantastic time! Thanks so much for sharing with us!

There must be some worn out keyboards around the world. I thought I would pop in a check what has gone on in the past 36 hrs. but you have gone through 4 pages.

Looks like there is good news and bad news mixed in.

Now for some more bad news or do you want the good news first. Well if you chose the good first hit you page down key a few times to skip the bad news.

Bad news alert
I landed in Winnipeg at 705pm on Saturday but due to the roads stayed with family friends there. Got a phone call at 3am from my mom saying Candida was feeling well and wondering what our coverage was in the US if she need to go the hospital. Well for those that can figure out where this is going you can skip a couple lines. At 8am another phone call, after availing themselves of the ambulance service in North Dakota, Candida was admitted to the hospital in Cavalier, ND. Looks like she decided to get a case of kidney stones. So, back to the airport for me. Being a Sunday it was the only place could find a rental car business open. I then applied my fine winter driving skills from southern Ontario and pointed the car towards ND. By 1230 I was walking into Candida's room. Oh, I forgot, when I pulled up to the boarder the first question out of the agents mouth "where is you rear licence plate?" My reply "it was there when I left Winnipeg, guess it couldn't keep up with the car." So, the second half of my reply is what I was thinking. But honestly, somewhere between the airport and the boarder the plate came off. So that is the bad news.

Good News:

We are still going on the cruise, one way or another.:cool1:

No matter how bad things get, we always have to look for the good in it. In this case it is just that I don't get to share my money with Disney but with the health care providers of Pembina County Memorial Hospital. Seriously, it is that there are friends out there that we haven't met who are thinking of us in times of trouble.

Thanks in advance
Jon

:thumbsup2 You have such a positive attitude, Jon! I love it!

I hope that Candida will be feeling much much better soon! Indeed she'll be in my thoughts! So sorry that it's been a rough time for you.

Good Morning everyone--Happy Monday:goodvibes

I have more answers to last wesk's question of hte week about which character would we choose to be stranded on a desserted island with. i finally got around to asking the rest of the family (I am going for Tarzan or Genie).
Dave says Elizabeth Swann or Jessica Rabbit--obvious what he is thinking there:headache::lmao:
Marika says the Magic Carpet so she could fly off the island.
Rio says tinkerbell so she can pixie dust him and he can fly away when he gets bored and until then she is so much fun.

We are anxiouly awaiting this week's question nowpopcorn::

Jon--so sorry to hear about Candida:hug: You have had a really trying couple of weeks. Your postivie outlook throughout continues to amaze me. Please send Candida our best wishes and we will be thinking of her for a speedy recovery.

Angie--I'm glad we were not the only ones who felt Mickey Dreams was creepy:eek: I almost didn't post that becuase I figured we would get laughed off the board for hacing that opinion:upsidedow We have the same philosophy sailing that you do about getting smaller staterooms and getting to sail twicef as often:thumbsup2 I know that does not wokr for some, which is okay, but it sure does work for us.

Dorothey (or Jennifer?:confused3 not sure which one of you is posting under kermit Rocks, which BTW is a sentiment I whole heartedly agree with:thumbsup2)--it is nice to know some other children of the 80s are along:dance3: we are still mourning the removal of 80s night from the Rockin' Bar D roster:sad2: Sigh, the kids are a bit warped, but I love htem just the same. There main topics of conversations tend to be 80s movies and music, musical theatre, Disney and Star Trek:rotfl2: Speaking of Start Trek, if Daniel and Lauren (Disney Trek) are still reading you tow should know the kids love your "photo." Rio is all excited and wanting to make Disney Trek halloween costumes with your insignia and mickey head shaped pips:rotfl: (see, I told you they are weird kids!).

We have never tried the first class sleeper. Interesting idea though. If anyone gets it and tries it sooner than the cruise I hope you will give us all a full report.

Okay all you Europeans sailing with us. We have a week of holidays we are trying to plan in Agust (yes I know, why the heck would we travel in August?! Sadly that is all we can work with the school and work schedules). We want to stay within a train ride of home.

SO, we are generally tossing around Bavaria, French Riviera (Marika loves the ocean and cold water does not bother her) or somewhere in the UK (maybe Scottland? Maybe split a few days in a couple of areas?). Any opnions would be very welcome as I have one absolutely no research as of yet.

So, Lynne, sounds like we need to do a pre cruise meet at your place! :) :cool1:

Sounds like a plan.

Hope Candida gets well soon, they say they are the worst pain you can ever get, My mum had kid stones 15 years ago and I thought she was dying.
I cant wait to meet you also! glad you can stay pos.

Hadley, Scotland is cool, but depends what you are after, the west coast is simply gorgeous, east cost is pretty, highlands is nice as well. up there with pc 1 in Ca, and ofcourse all the tourist things, If I can post you any stuff from tourist scotland just say, or any lifts from airport or stuff, any help with hotels or places to stay.just say.

kcashner - thanks for the great information!

I was wondering about cabin selection. I did a 4 night sailing on the wonder and had a balcony (cat 4). I was sailing alone so there was a toon of room and i liked it but i felt it was kind of wasteful - short cruise and just me. Now i am getting ready to sail on the TA with a friend and we are cat 11 GTY. Cat 4 is so expensive (prohibitive, really) but i was weighing whether or not to upgrade to Cat 8 - while there wont be much to look at "at sea", the window would provide a lot of light and the room is a bit bigger. For those of you with so much experience, which is the best value? would I enjoy Cat 8 that much more (especially for 2 WEEKS?) Thanks.

Also - silly question. How do each of you copy, or "quote" a prior posting when you respond to questions on the thread? I can't figure out how to get the prior posting to show up in the "quote" box? Thanks.

Walt

OK well I had a Cat 11 one way and a Cat 5 the other and didn't really use the balcony at all for the view but I get sea sick if I look at the water for too long. My sister on the other hand wont cruise without a view and so was happier with one. I guess its personal choice. We're doing Cat 11 again.

As for "quote" below the post will be a QUOTE button which you can click and will bring up a new reply window with the quote in. There is also a button with " on and this one allows you to do multiple quotes. Click this on a number of posts then on the last one click the QUOTE button and it will bring up loads. I don't get the " button showing when Im in work so have trouble with that and do them all seperately.

We have only ever had cat 11, ofcourse if money was no object we would have a balcony, but it is so we settle and are very happy without, it means we can go more cruises, also, the time when i want to relax and look at the view is around 6pm, decks are empty. I just take a glass of wine up to deck 10 and sit there. It is such a personal thing whether or not to get a balcony, no rights or wrongs!

Does anyone know if there will be new shows or how often disney updates the shows?

I have sailed once before on a 4 night on the wonder in feb 2008. I remember the golden mickeys, disney dreams, etc. I missed the debut of toy story by one week (so sad). I am just curious what they will do for entertainment on a 14 night cruise and/or if the live entertainment shows will be the same ones I saw previously or updated?

Thanks!

:thumbsup2

There is going to be 2 new shows from what I've heard, a Villians show and another one. They don't have Toy Story on the Magic. We will probably have a few shows. On the last 14 nighter I did we had in no particular order:

1. Golden Mickeys - I believe this is now the Villians show
2. Disney Dreams
3. When Mickey Dreams
4. The Art of the Story - which is the other one I think they are replacing
5. Twice Charmed - exclusive to the Magic instead of Toy Story on the Wonder
6. Welcome Aboard Show
7.Goodbye Show
8. Crew Talent Show
9. Movie Premier
10. Susan Egan - the original Belle in the Broadway production of Beauty and the Beast
11. Jim Brachan - was that his name? Disney pianist released an album of Disney songs
12-14. Comedians
