Just got back from taking Candida to the airport in Hamilton. Unfortunately, she is not on a vacation or work related trip. My step dad has been up and down with his health for awhile now. He has been bouncing in and out of the hospital for just over a month now. Last week he had to be taken back in. When he commented to the doctor that he was planning on doing something in a month the doctor replied " You won't be alive that long". So, my step dad decided to check himself out and in his words, "Die at home"

Since, Candida doesn't work she decided she would head to North Dakota to help out my mom. Not sure how long she'll be there, for my mom's sake I hope it is awhile, for my sake I hope it is not long.

Thanks for listening,
Jon

I'm sorry.

Is there anyone staying at the Le Meridien on La Rambla? I seem to remember that there were a few of us....?

How much is the rate at Praktik?

Does anyone know the two hotels well enough to compare them?

P.S. Thanks Ann - nice to know we'll have some nice company!

It seems that there are two Praktik, with one on La Rambla and one on Diputacion. Which one are people booking at? Thanks!

I've been a lurker on disboards for a while, but finally took the plunge and signed on to this thread. DH and I are both geezers. We will be arriving in BCN a week before (Thursday 9/9) the cruise to see the city. I've booked a room at the Pratik Ramblas, so it looks like we will be meeting a lot of fellow cruisers. When we bought the transportation package we were told that if we make our way down to Le Meridien the morning of the cruise, we could use Disney transport to get to the ship. Hope to meet some of you Friday before the cruise.
:cheer2:

We are staying at the Le Meridien Friday night as well. We are looking forward to meeting everyone.

Welcome aboard, Betty. And welcome out of lurkdom. We too are geezers! :thumbsup2

Ok, so no one claimed FE as theirs, so it is mine, all mine!!! pirate: And I way want smaller groups! I want to try and make something, and making 100 of anything would just be too daunting! So groups of 25 it is. :woohoo:

Thank you so much for organising this! We just loved our fish gifts from our last cruise - I'm still using loads of them (pens, bookmarks etc) or enjoy seeing them around the house (fridge magnets etc).

Can I pack yet?
OMG you haven't packed! QUICK, you only have 8 months to go! :rotfl2:

As to those of you requesting time off, I am doing a B2B and I am still worried that something that is going to come up and they are going to say – um we are sorry but you can’t take the time off. I put in for my time off (month of September) back in October 2008. I just wish I could get it in writing.

I have my fingers crossed for you - that its pretty scary not knowing if it will be ok.

I notice afew people are going to DisneylandParis first.

For those who are doing Paris first - what is the best way to then get to Barcelona for starting the cruise? I'm not sure which way we will get to Barcelona as yet so just wanting to get ideas for when I go to the TA to book my flights and I can't do that until we figure book our DVC accommodation (maybe) at DL at the 7 month window. Or maybe I should just go to the international bit and worry about the MCO/LAX bit later ... decisions, decisions...

We have booked at the Praktik Rambla too ..... looks like we will be bumping into lots of cruisers in the hallway.

Hi there from another old geezer and an slightly older geezer hubby!!!

Oh, don't laugh! I have already started shopping! Well...just a couple of things, I figure if we leave in September, the only things I will be able to buy at that time of the year will be winter stuff. Aren't we all doing that...or is it just me :blush::blush:.
PS, Nice to have somebody from my end of the world aboard :cool1:

Quick reply--not trying to eb rude, I have to run Marika to the doctor:flower3: There are lots of low cost airlines to look into, but be sure to check baggage fees which can be very steep for every bag. We are comming from Heidelberg and are seriously considering taking an overnight train from ehre to Barcelon (and Paris ould be closer). Leave Friday night and be in Barcelona first thing Saturday morning. You would save the cost of a hotel Friday night and not loose any days of touring to travel if you did that. Note: price train fare on French sites--American sites mark it up substantially.
