Morning all,

Jackie i have the same bank and I am also going to change over to that kind of account. I know it will add up fast and it will all be for the cruise.

I think its fun to hear how everyone saves for the cruise.
I am hoping to learn more ways to save from you guys.:thumbsup2
I little here and there, you dont miss.

Diznyfan68 thats a great amount for that short amount of time:cheer2:
I didnt start until October for this cruise.

Well have a great sunday everyone,

Kathy

Woh! Nice airline :flower3: I love the look of Emirates planes! My Dad used to work for BA and so used to do the maintenance for Emirates and reckons the planes are beautiful

I still get a warm fuzzy feeling whenever I see one of our aircraft. Going on duty travel to Dubai last year and seeing them all lined up at the terminal definitely was an experience. I even have two models next to my desk at home: a Boeing 777-300ER and an Airbus A380-800. One of these days I have to go to Heathrow to do some plane spotting and see the A380. Here in Manchester we only ever get to see the Boeing 777-300ER.

My bank offers a 'keep the change' savings account. Whenever you use your debit card, it rounds up the amount to the nearest whole dollar, and puts that amount into your savings account. :thumbsup2 Instant savings AND it makes it easier to balance your 'checkbook' when dealing with whole dollar amounts. I think I had to open the account with $25 bucks and it's growing like gangbusters. (Bank of America, btw)

....I have discovered that the small OR medium Blizzard 'costs' me the same amount of money ($4)...so I've ordered the medium more often than I should :sad2: THAT doesn't help the savings account OR the waistline! :lmao:

.

Thanks, Jackie, I'm going to look in to this. :)

Looks great! LOL :thumbsup2

I was just playing around on the mickeypath web site and created a rotating banner. I really had wanted to incorporate Stephanie's logo and also Todd's logo...so look below to see what I've come up with! :) Thanks again to Stephanie for the web site and logo, and to Todd for creating the cool Pirates logo! pirate: I've always wanted to be able to put that pirate logo in my signature!

Aye , thar be a little Pirate in all of you , and some day youll have to square with that , Savvy !!!

I’ve been a little behind on the posts, but I’m up to speed now. So my apologies in advance for the several replies.

{{Hadley and Fam}} :grouphug: Big hugs to you guys. No doubt it will be a bitter-sweet week for you with not enough hours. So please enjoy your last days here in the States and let me know when you get settled in, please! Don’t hate me, but there is cold and snow likely coming your way. It was beautiful outside here in Ohio today though. They were big fluffy flakes….the ones I absolutely love to see falling.

Stephanie, I saw “Castle” advertised on “Extreme Home Makeover” tonight. That’s the show Brooke played in, right? You’ll have to let us know when her episode(s) will be on! :happytv:

…..Well I called my travel agent back today and added DCL air ($900 per person) and the pre-cruise hotel (the AB Skipper), plus transfers, onto our booking. Part of me thinks that I should just keep this booking and leave EVERYTHING to Disney, while another part of me knows that once air schedules and rates are released this fall, I'll be calculating and planning, just to see the alternatives…..

Oh “this fall” sounds so good! :thumbsup2

Thanks! :) At first I wasn't going to post about my "Mediterribbean" dream because it sounded strange, but my DH said to me "Hey, if anyone's going to appreciate that kind of humor, it's the DIS cruisers on the thread!" Hehehe...he was right! LOL :lmao:

:upsidedow That’s brilliant! Your DH is absolutely right, too! Your DIS buddies appreciate it most!

….we should hop over onto the EASTbound thread and tell them that they're doing a "Caribberranean" cruise! lol

:rotfl2: Did you? You should if you didn’t!

ok folks... I just had to change my ticker!...

I love it! I might have to use SeaSpray’s term on my ticker too! However, I can’t get myself to see a countdown that far away yet!

…Also, on the Orlando radio station this morning they said that Disney was offering "buyout packages" to some employees for early retirement and Universal had a big lay off. I know things will get better, but I have no patience.:scared:

Oh that’s so sad to hear. :sad1:

….Anybody else have something they do for saving for the cruise?.....We do use a credit card that offers cash back too....

Good idea, Kathy!

In addition to cash back cards, I also use many of the rebate sites for on-line purchases. I have chosen to have the rebates dollars directly deposited into my PayPal account so I know it's cruise savings. Sites like Cashbaq.com, MrRebates.com, and Ebates.com offer some amazing rebates. For example, Snapfish gives 10% or 12% back, Dale & Thomas Popcorn offers 20% back, and QVC has 4% back...and that's just to name a few! If you’re not familiar to these sites, just know that to get the rebate, you have to go to the rebate site and link to the retailer’s website from there, otherwise, you won't get a rebate applied.

I just took a look so I would accurately tell you this. I started using these sites at the end of May, and thus far, I've earned $194!!! That should cover my Drinks of the Day, don't ya think?! :cool1:

:rotfl: Hehe! Unfortunately, I have to admit this would be my reasoning, too!

Oh cool! I will have to watch it on TIVO, and not fast foward through the commercials! Yes that is the show!!! :cheer2:

I can't wait to see it!!! It is the 3rd episode. I will keep you updated as to when it will be on.

Oops! Sorry!! I just realized I named her Brooke, not Brooklyn! DUH, Kimberly! :rotfl:

No worries! She gets that all the time. Now just don't say it to her or she will correct you.....JK :rotfl:

LOL! I can relate! I *hate* Kim, but love the name Kimberly. If someone calls by "Kim" in a room, I don't even think someone's talking to me! :upsidedow I'm not trying to be rude. It's just not my name, so I don't even consider that person could be speaking to me. It's instinctive I suppose.

Too funny! Brooklyn is exactly like that! When she was about 3 or so a doctor called her Brooke and she looked at him and said "BROOKLYN...B R O O K L Y N" He was laughing so hard that she just spelled out her name to him! :rotfl2:

I am gutted I never could afford to go on concorde whem it was around(still couldnt) but the Emirates are nice(personally I love the AA,they are so cool and shiny) I am going AA to La this year, I am so excited, any I think the crew are so cool on the emirates planes, so sophisticated, My cousin is with Ba crew and he says the same.

I loved reading all the money saving comments from this weekend. Our family has a big jug decorated with DCL memories that we drop our change into. We love this idea and have done it for 2 cruises. I also love the $1.00 idea - that would be difficult for me because so many things I just need a couple dollars for - example - my ice tea during my daughter's speech class. I might give that a try though. My bank also does a "keep the change" and when I buy gas, it is always .01 so I get .99 cents into my account. It comes in very handy. If there are any more ideas, I would love to hear it. I also charge alot on my Disney card to get my Disney money, but I don't know if that is such a good idea.:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
