Morning all. Well its my last day in work until the 5th thank God! I've been so bored it will be nice to be able to stay at home and watch some random telly over Xmas! Dans got to go Xmas shopping at lunch time as hes decided hes forgotten somethings but other than that all done!

Hope everyone's OK?

Good morning everyone! Hope you are all more organised than I am with your Christmas preparations! I will be our shopping all day and then wrapping presents all evening, with a bit of baking thrown in somewhere.

Favourite Disney Park - definitely Disneyland Paris - everything about it is magical and I love the way it is all so compact and beautifully laid out! My next favourite is Magic Kingdom in WDW.

Hope everyone has a great day! By the way those snow pictures are beautiful - if anything like that happened here the whole country would come to a standstill - they close the schools if they see a couple of flakes!

Hi Guys, hope you are all well today( I had a tiny hangover, well maybe a bit bigger than that) Any way going for a walk now,not the gym and swimming that I was meant to be doing but better than nothing!
Is everybody going to family for christmas or having family over?

Enjoy your holiday Sarah, you work so hard i am sure you will need it:lmao:
I am off till sat then I have a week before we are away skiing to switzerland(:woohoo: )

speak soon, take care.

We just returned from a 10-night cruise to the Mexican Riviera/Sea of Cortez, which was very relaxing. Our goal was just rest and relaxation.

There were six ports and we did not book a single excursion. At three ports -- Puerto Vallarta, Mazatlan, and Cabo San Lucas -- Mrs. Woody did not even get off the ship. (Been there, done that.) I went sightseeing in each of the port towns, and even saw the cliff divers in Mazatlan from the adjacent sidewalk.

While the Holland America "Amsterdam" is NOT the Disney "Magic," it doesn't carry the Disney price tag either. Our cruise fare for 10 nights in an ocean view cabin (equivalent to Cat. 9) was $599 pp plus tax and port charges. We spend that much on airfare, hotel, and a rental car just to get to the Magic.

Some of the highlights on the Amsterdam were robes in the staterooms, fresh squeezed orange juice, a "made to order" eggs Benedict station at the buffet (with 5 or 6 samples on display, like at Palo), two omelette stations at the buffet, hand scooped ice cream (4 to 5 flavors that changed daily), culinary demonstrations with a real kitchen, a 3-room library with books galore (with over a dozen Mexico guide books alone), daily 3:00 pm tea, and a classical music quartet.

Woody, I have done this cruise on HAL's Ryndam. It remains one of my favorite cruises! Agree with you about the price tag. How was the entertainment on that cruise? The entertainment on ours was pretty bad ... I'm just saying! I think though that was because, in our early 30s, hubby and me were the youngest on the ship, by far.

Hi just checking in to wish everyone a Merry Christmas :santa: and a Happy New Year. party: I finished work at 10.30 this morning and thats me until the 5th Jan.  Looking forward to this break, we will have the three grandchildren around. My brother and his wife will be up from Maidstone and there are sisters, brothers, parents, nieces, nephews, friends to see so we expect to be busy. :cool1:
Then there is taking the dog out, a white west highland terrier called Freddie, looking for bargains in the sales so we will be busy but at our own pace.
As for our fave parks, mine is Epcot and Tricia likes MK :tinker:

Good morning everyone,
well we still have rain, all the snow is gone which is great for us, however all our family has 10+ inches of snow, most have closer to 20 inches and 2 inches of ice on top of that and more snow on its way.
So we wont get to go and see them fro Christmas like we planned.:sad1:

For the first time in 35 years it will be just the two of us at Christmas.
Thats a scary thought. Guess we can stare at each other and count the wrinkles:lmao:

Of course it is fun to watch the pups tear into their packages.

Hope everyone has a great day and good luck if you have to travel this year.

Kathy

Favorite Park:
DS: California Adventure
DD: Disneyland - she loves the original
Me and DH: DL in CA and Hollywood Studios in WDW

Well in Hadley's absence....it feels like we haven't had a QOTW for a while (or maybe it's just me). Hadley emailed me last night/this morning and they are safely back from Germany...butu I don't know how soon she'll be back to the DIS....so I'll throw a question out for this week:

What is your favorite Disney Parks ride or attraction? (You may choose from ANY Disney park worldwide!)

Mine is Tower of Terror and Jason's is probably Mission Space (the puke-inducing version).

It's a Small World at DL is very special to us.....we met on that ride in 1967. We also both LOVE Soarin' and TSM

Great question!

I don't think I can pick just one favorite - how about one per park? At WDW it has to be Rockin' Roller Coaster. I wish they had that in DL. I love Soarin' at Ca Adventure and the original Pirates at DL. And even though it is cheesy, no trip to DL is complete without a spin through it's a small world!

It's a Small World is DD5's favorite - she's singing the song right now:upsidedow .

I'll have to ask DH his favorite. I know he loves Carousel of Progress and was bummed when it left DL.

DD13 loves Screamin' at CA adventure, and I'm not sure about DD14.

Updates later.

I like this better...
IASW at DL, TSM at DCA, Soarin' at Epcot, ToT at Studios, EE at Animal Kingdom, Big Thunder at MK

I can't take "credit" for the assessment that DL's POC is better than WDW's----I think that's kind of a universally understood thing....it's just longer and cooler and, if I'm remember correctly, it has more little drops in it. Space Mountain in DL is also WAY better than at WDW....and they have the Nemo submarines ride which I liked very much (despite having to wait for almost 2 hours to get on the darn thing!!!). Nothing can beat WDW's castle, though.....and WDW will also always be our favorite because of the diversity of the 4 parks...and for Animal Kingdom which is, far and away, our favorite place to spend time....that is my favorite park!!

Maybe that would be a good question of the week.....which Disney Park (again, think globally, if you like) is your favorite park??

Disneyland is our favorite. It has the magic of Walt having walked there and the magic of our meeting there. Our first kiss was on the bridge in front of the Castle. We married 3 and a half weeks after we met.

Hello

Just checking in and saying hello!

We have been super busy with the holidays and I am looking forward to a relaxing week!

Hi everyone! Just stopping by to say hi!

My boss bought us all lunch today...sandwiches from Wegman's...yummy!!! The whole office smells like lunchmeat and onions now though...but it was still very good and very nice of him! :thumbsup2

Doesn't sound that bad actually! Love the idea of not getting off the boat lol! We didn't on the last TA

Anyway glad you enjoyed it!

Sounds amazing, I agree with mrs woody, best to take it easy!

Orly stole his xmas present from the carrier bag that was on the dining table and desqueaked them when I went out for half an hour, so none for him!

Have a lovely christmas.
Apri ski is very nice but I always to tired after all the fresh air.

Could you send a little of that white stuff to my Dave? He is really wanting snow right now but he hasn't gotten any by his house. Up by me, we have maybe 3 or 4 inches which is nothing.

Your kids look like they are having a great time!

I really like the snow actually--but I would share if I could:lmao:

Hadley, I'm so glad things are working out for you, but you must be exhausted! It must be very exciting to be moving abroad. Outside of the Caribbean, I've never really been very far from home, which is why I'm so stoked about this TA.
QUOTE]
Yeah, it is a starnge mix of really exciting and really stressful! I bet you'll enjoy the ports on the TA. It is so much fun to try new places.

Maybe that would be a good question of the week.....which Disney Park (again, think globally, if you like) is your favorite park??
Totally unfair question! I have only been to the 6 USA parks and I still can't narrow it down:rotfl2: Ummm. well I am less fond of Hollywood Studios and California Adventure (not that I don't like them--just like them a little less than hte others) but after that I really can't decide. So that leaves me 4 favs:thumbsup2
