Marika - CONGRATS!!!!!!!!! I know you have been working hard. pixiedust:

Buckeye Gal - sooo sorry to hear about your car, but in your weather I would be happy not to have it for the 3-day weekend. I can snuggle, stay warm and not go outside. I hope it all works out for you.

Hopefully this cold weather will pass soon. It seems California or Arizona has the best weather.

People that are staying in another country before the cruise, did you tell the airline that you wanted a layover or how did that work? I am dreading it and wondering if I should just do the Disney thing too.

Well, thats not the policy and they were at it as they say in scotland.

Easy jet web site.

Hand baggage – no weight limit
easyJet has no weight restriction on hand baggage, the only stipulation is that you must be able to lift your bag safely into the overhead lockers without assistance, so the weight must be within reason.

In order to comply with safety regulations of the UK Civil Aviation Authority, and to reflect the limited space in the overhead storage bins, there is a size limit, which means that your bag must not be bigger than 55x40x20 cm. Visit our carrier’s regulations for full details on our baggage policy.

These flexible hand baggage rules give you the freedom

Above from easy jet web site.

That's really weird. They definately had thiers weighed but maybe it was to do with lifting it without aid (didn't ask them just how heavy it was lol)

Hey all...

I haven't been posting much the last week, but have been lurking. Busy busy week here in Rochester with work and everything....and it's been FREEZING!!! Plus Jason and I started a new workout program (I think I referenced it as our new year's resolution) which has us getting up by 6:15am every day to work out before we leave for work....and neither of us is a morning person so both the hours and the workout are KICKING OUR BUTTS! (We're so sore most days we can barely move :lmao: ....so we just eat and go to bed every night:thumbsup2 ) The most hectic thing this week, however, has been gearing up for cheer competition. Our area's competition season really officially kicked off this past weekend. Yesterday was my Varsity girls' first tournament....and despite a really REALLY challenging season (lots of behavior issues, injuries, girls quitting, etc.) I'm pleased to say that the girls I work with from Fairport High School are, as of yesterday, officially the Monroe County Division 1 Champions! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Other than that we're just gearing up for our trip with my parents in May....and I'm getting REALLY irritated that Disney still has not posted the park hours and schedules for May of 2009 yet!! My window to start booking our advanced dining reservations opens up at the end of this month and I really need to know what hte Fantasmic schedule is going to be that week so we know when/where to book a Fantasmic dining package. ggggrrr!!!

Hope you're all well and staying warm----especially if your weather is anything like ours is now!!

This thread sometimes moves too fast for me to keep up with it! :rotfl:

I hope all is well with everyone!

We are enjoying the CA sunshine. The girls have been swimming all weekend. I am keeping my fingers crossed that the weather stays nice for Super Bowl weekend!!!! We always have a huge party and it would be great if everyone could swim before the game!

So I want to share a photo with everyone. DD did a photoshoot last week and the pictures came out AMAZING! Here is one that I just fell in love with!!!!

I pray everyone is good after the Holiday break and the New Year! We in AZ are excited about our Cardinals, even those of us who aren't "SPORTS" fans - well, not die hards. But we are happy and looking forward to their SUPER BOWL WIN. Ok, just being positive here, since I dont' even know who they'll be playing! :wave2::wave2::wave2: To everyone...

What is up with that? It's wierd actually because I feel like in the past WDW hours have always been up at least 6 months in advance, if not sooner.....and all through the month of December Disney reps, DVC folks and my TA were saying the hours would be up right after the first of the year....and now here we are over halfway into January and there's still no hours information....it's very odd.

I feel your frustration! We are going in June and we have been waiting for the park hours too! I called and asked the cast member and he said that the park hours for June will come out the 2nd week of February. I hope that yours come out sooner!!! I am such a PLANNER that this waiting thing is for the birds!!!

Yeah....and like I said...Fantasmic is really our primary concern. I remember reading a while back that during low attendance seasons, Fantasmic would be scaled back to only two performances a week. We always do a Fantastmic meal package to get dinner and seating at the show without having to wait quite so long in line or show up too too early. I imagine if, while we're there, these dinner packages are going to be even harder to come by...PLUS if they're only available on certain nights while we're there....then our entire week's dining and park-touring schedule kind of revolves around what nights Fantastmic is showing and what night we can get a dinner package.....so I can't make ANY dining reservations until I make that one first....gggrrrr!

We tried to base some of what we were doing on Feb's hours but according to the March calendar from last year Disneyland is open a little later on the weekdays , I hope this to stand true when we get there ... I love closing the Park .....

Okay, this might just be me, but I have been to Disney in the past month and I know several of you have also, but I really think it has to do with cutbacks. They really don't want to make a big deal about it like some other companies have, but I REALLY think that is part of it. We were at Animal Kingdom last week and it was empty (so to speak) but waited in lines for 30 minutes because they only had one Dino cart going or a few safari trucks. It was frustrating. I guess we are all spoiled, but I really think that is the deal for them - either that or they have been kind of "out-of-it."

I called DVC to book a room for the last Thursday in January and they told me ALL DVC rooms were taken - even one and two bedrooms. First, I find this hard to believe. I said to the lady on the line, after a bit of frustration, "I guess the economy isn't as bad as everyone thinks." She explained to me that it is all FREE since it was already paid for. I tried to REALLY contain my frustration and said, "I didn't know Disney was giving away free meals and tickets or airfare for that matter." She was silent. I am sure I have a big bad "X" on top of my DVC number - ugh! I think if they would explain to the public that they are having cutbacks, we would have more patience. I think it will only get worse - be ready!

What's this FREE stuff????? Unless you've completely paid off your DVC, aren't you still paying monthly??? Not counting the grounds fees.

Congratulations!!!!

I agree 100% - what is the free stuff?? I guess she thinks it isn't like booking a room in Paris or Los Angeles and flying there - I was confused too. Disney is NOT giving away free meals and tickets, I was trying to point that out, but the point was completely ignored. I just find it hard to believe that EVERY room is taken the end of January. I was ready to implode! If it IS full and they have no room, Disney should not be saying the economy is bad because I am sure those rooms are not free!

I hope it wasn't too confusing!

Disney isn't hurting, when booking our June trip, some of the days we were planning were booked up in the values, I know a lot has to do with the 4/3 promo.
Stephanie- glad to hear June hours are coming in Feb, the CM told me mid March!

Since I live here I haven't paid much attention, but does the 4/3 promo involve DVC?

Hey Sandi----No it doesn't. It's for cash-paying resort guests....HOWEVER (and someone can correct me if I'm wrong), only a certain portion of even the DVC properties are allotted at any one moment in time as DVC and others in the same property may be available for cash-rental by non-DVC guests. For instance----and maybe Chris & Rob will see this and clarify----but I think that a couple years ago when they were going on a big trip with lots of friends they got wait listed for a 3 bedroom Villa at Old Key West because they wre supposedly all booked up.....but when Chris went to the Disney website, it was showing that there were 3-bedroom villas available to reserve for his dates for cash guests. So I think that means that even though there are a certain number of certain rooms that actually EXIST, that they may not all be available as DVC and/or cash-bookings at any one moment in time. I'm sure there's some magical mouse logarithm that they use to figure all that out, though, that we would never understand if we tried!!! :rotfl2:
