Hi everyone!

Just checking in... It's been awhile since I've posted and I'm sad to say I have not been keeping up with the thread. :guilty:

Some of you may remember that my mom had a stroke in November. She is doing really well, so that has been a huge relief.

I don't have any excuses for not keeping up, just have been busy with the holiday, kids and miscellaneous activities!

I hope all is well with everyone and I pledge to do a much better job at keeping up with this thread!

Krista

Welcome back. Glad your mums OK!

I haven't read back very far on the thread, but I take it that you had surgery? Anyway, I'm glad that all is going well now. :)

I indeed have surgery, I had my ACL reconstructed in my right knee...made the mistake of watching the procedure on YouTube last night! :scared1: I'm doing much better thankfully! :)

OK it is official DH and I changed our cruise to the WB TransAtlantic. We were going to do the 12 night capital city cruise too much money for 8 hrs at each port. So we are doing the TransAtlanic again. :cool1: Our cabin is 8528 Cat 4. All the mid ship CAT 5 and 6 were gone only a 200 dollar difference. Has anyone stayed in a cat 4 before?

Welcome aboard!!!!

I'm watching the historic events unfolding on TV right now. I'm very happy that I'm able to be home today (although it's not because I want to be, it's because my doctor hasn't released me to go back to work yet) to see the coverage. The images they have been showing on CNN have been amazing! I can't believe so many people are there.

I have a question though since I know there are so many people traveling on this cruise from around the world: What is your take on Obama taking over as the President of the United States?

Have a wonderful day, everybody! :)

My niece 12/13yo and her friends think he is ace, not because of the colour of his skin or his freash ideas but because of his abs:scared: Yes, I am afraid so, he is a pin up,they had him in this magazine, torso of the week:crazy2: ??!!

I was gunning for Hillary and cant help being sad for her. I have so many American friends who voted for him because they felt they had no alternative.
I think he brings a newness to the job that maybe Hillary would not have, I fear he has a huge job on his hands and after all the hype I cant see how he will not dissapoint.
Dear American friends a lot of people are glued to the tv in GB as well as all over USA and the world.

Enjoy the day.

I will watch because I love America and all that we stand for. Obama was not my choice for president but I will pray for him and our country. Democracy is a wonderful thing and should be apprieciated and celebrated by all!

He made a lot of promises and statements that I agree will be very hard to fulfill. I pray for all of our sake that he can fulfill some of what he sets out to do.

I also pray that all of our countries leaders come together and work for the good of our country not a political party.

That is so funny about your niece! LOL!!!

I feel the same way. I just want whoever is voted into any political office to do what is best for the country regardless of his/her political party.

God I wish I was at home watching! Stuck in work as have a programme running! ARGGGG!

I am hoping he wont disappoint! What ever happens change has to be a good thing with things how they are in the world. I just hope our country can do the same when the time comes! If political parties stay in for too long the country gets stuck in a ruk and then things get worse and worse!

Oh and I have a favourite ever quote from Joe Biden which Im going to have to put in my sig but I wanted to share:

"Sometimes it feels like Spring is never going to come, but with this administration Spring is on the way" or words to that effect!

Thanks to everyone who posted their congrats for my cheerleaders.

I thought about you and Jason the other day. The news was interviewing an adult cheer group from SF that will be in the innagural parade. Since you're the only ones I know that are involved with cheering, you crossed my mind.

Yeah that would be Cheer San Francisco. They're an LGBT (and allies) adult cheer squad who are HUGELY talented AND popular. They also do lots of charity work and fund-raising for great causes like AIDS charities, etc. They were, I think, the first squad of their kind....but now there's a whole network of them all over the country. If I lived close to one, I would ABSOLUTELY be a part of a squad like that----but the closest one to us is in NYC.

OK had to change it to Obama's quote "With hope and virtue, let us brave once more the icy currents, and endure what storms may come." as for some reason administration was being sensored?

I completely forgot to congratulate you and your cheerleaders! How exciting!
I've never heard of Cheer San Francisco, but they sound like a wonderful group! :)

Welcome Figment!

Our public schools are closed today because of the inauguration. Anybody else out there closed - work or school?

Our schools were in session but the kids watched the inauguration in the auditorium. We watched the live CNN feed that was streamed on the web - my whole company (all 20 of us) watched somewhere in the office today.

No I decided to just keep the Cat 10 as I am thinking of going to a Cat 9 to get a window. Thanks for checking though!:goodvibes

DH and I love cat 9 with the window. You should do it. The price is a good deal. When DH and I did the 07 WB cruise the cat 9 is the price of my Cat 4 now go figure. ::yes::

Was gunning for Hillary too but once it was decided that Obama was running for the Democrats he had my complete support. It will be very difficult for him and like every president he will not be able to get everything done that he wants to but I feel that things will be better when he leaves office.

OK....so I will throw out a question of the week for this week's amusement:

What is/are your favorite NON-BROADWAY Disney stage show(s)? So the Broadway versions of AIDA, Beauty & the Beast, Little Mermaid, Lion King, Tarzan and Mary Poppins don't count....but you can pick shows from any of the parks worldwide or the ships!!

Do you like how I worded the question with the door open for people to have multiple answers? I'd like to say that I did that for everyone's benefit....but it was mostly selfish because I know I can't name just one! :lmao:

My/our favorite CURRENT shows are:
"Festival of the Lion King" @ Animal Kingdom
"Finding Nemo: The Musical" @ Animal Kingdom
and "Twice Charmed" aboard the Magic

Other shows we love that are not in production anymore include:
"Tarzan Rocks!" @ Animal Kingdom
and on the TA in 2007 they did a show called "Art of the Story" on the ship. I know this was not a universally popular show and, actually, I think that a lot of people really hated it----but we LOVED it!! It had a bunch of my favorite songs/shows included so I thoroughly enjoyed it and I would not be one bit disappointed

Just as a note, our least favorite shows:
"Mickey Dreams" which they did as a special show on the TA, too. (And I heard a rumor they tried to do it on the most recent PC cruisings, too, but they only did it in one direction because it wasn't very popular)
"Hercules: the Muse-ical" which used to run on the Wonder. I never really got into that show and wasn't sorry to hear that it is gone now...but we are very much looking forward to seeing the new "Toy Story" show that's on the Wonder now when we sail in May!
