OH - thought of a worse story when I read about the newly weds...

My DH and I went to Vegas to stay at the brand new Luxor. We checked in, dropped the bags and left for a show and dinner...
Late that night wecame back to our room to find the towels in a heap on the floor. I do not kow if they were like that earier - I had not checked.

We called Customer service to request new towels and question the towels on the floor...

Before they could come up to the room, I pulled back the top bed cover to find the soft blanket cover was covered in a thick gooey muck.
Yes your mind went to the same place mine went.... OMG

They changed our room for the night. We left the next day and checked into the Pirate hotel for the rest of the trip. No refund or apology was given but I WILL NEVER STAY THERE AGIAN!!!

Seriously these stories are getting grosser and grosser

hi all
just booked this cruise after returning from home from a boring uk cruise where the average was about 80 years old, just cant wait to get back on a Disney ship to have some fun, does anyone know what the entertainment is like on the sea days,
kind regards
joanne michael & perry

Hiya welcome. Last time the entertainment included dance lessons, culinary demonstrations, quizzes, deck parties, bingo, pool games and much much more. The mystery at sea was cool too as it was lik a who dunnit over a few days! Oh and the behind the scenes at the Walt Disney theatre was good.

Hi and welcome aboard!

OK well to be honest I don't remember many horrible holidays just parts of them.

For example my sister burnt her back when we were in benidorm, spain and got blisters and her shirt stuck to her! That was horrid!

Dont think there's anywhere i wouldn't go back to though.

That sounds horrendous - and very painful:hug:

All of you are outdoing yourselves with these stories - the Las Vegas one made me gag! I am surprised you had no apology. I would have written a letter!!! We have heard all the great stories about WDW, DCL, etc. so I thought I would throw everybody a curve ball!!

My husband did the same thing as your sister did in Spain and still has the scar where he pulled his shirt off. :sad2:

Welcome jojo! You will have lots of fun on this cruise - tons to do!!!

Happy Belated Birthday Cap'n! Silly Wench question.....what is it,a Mustang? :car:

Hi Hadley! Yes we were on the 1st TA in May 07 and the 1st Med as well. That is great that there will familiar faces on this thread. :cool1: We always come back for more once you try it! Karen
I bet you will look familiar then--it was such a small group of us:goodvibes

;)

Hey Hadley, long time no "see"! I have not been on the boards much. I hope your move went well and everyone is settling in!
Stephanie--all your preparations sound like so much fun. Are the girls completely recovered from surgery yet?

Where are you headed for the school trip?
Corinna
we were in Sonneberg--fairly far north. We got super lucky on the weather--sunny and warm which was really good as we were hiking through snow up to knee deep in areas. My thighs got a nice pre bikini season workout as we hiked 6-12 km a day--largely uphill with 150 meters of vertical ascent from the train station to the hostel and about the same from where we did the high ropes course (I am so proud of myself for getting through that:woohoo:) back to the hostel (that was the hike with all the snow).

Hi Hadley,

I see you are living in Germany. I'll be visiting the Munich area the end of April/beginning of May. Any idea what the weather will be like around that time? I was hoping it would be a little warmer that it is here in Wisconsin! I plan on checking the forecast before we leave - but maybe you can give me some better input.

Also, if you are familiar with the area....is there something I shouldn't miss? Anything that you would say I just HAVE to see while I'm there? I just haven't taken the time to plan this trip out as much as I should have.

We're travelling with my daughter's dance studio. So most of the time will be spent in Salzburg and Vienna. All those activities are planned for including some dance classes for her. But I'll be staying an extra four days in Munich and wanted to explore that area a little more.

Any advice?

That sounds like a grea trip. I wish I could help you but I do not know much of anyting about the Munich area. The closest I have been was to Legoland Saturday. I CAN tell you that spring is here full on now and the weather should be lovely:goodvibes

Well I'm in work today after spending most of the week stressed and in pain. My RSI is playing up so having to type one handed which isn't fun

Hope everyone's OK

I hope you are felling all better now:thumbsup2

Good morning - it looks like a lovely day here in Wales - the sun is shining!:goodvibes

Hope everyone is well - I have been really busy the last few weeks planning our DDs 18th birthday party, which we held last Saturday and which went really well. It was a stars of stage and screen themed party and we all dressed up (well about 60% of the guests dressed up - there are always some boring family members who don't like dressing up :confused3)
Since then I have been on a 3 day course with work, but hopefully I have a relatively quiet month ahead, so should be able to join in with the thread a bit more again.

By the way - only 76 weeks until the cruise now - it's getting closer!:woohoo:
The party sounds GREAT:)I love parties with themes and costumes (and yes there are always those boring sticks in the mud who do not dress:rolleyes1)

Okay, it has been quiet lately on the thread so I thought I would ask a Question of the Week(end). Has anyone taken a trip/city/amusement park/cruise that they would NOT recommend and if so why? Sometimes people have things happen to them in a particular city and they end up hating the city because of it.

Mine would be Palm Springs! Ugh! We went there - got stopped by the cops for speeding, I got bit by red ants and the hotel we stayed at, on the golf course, starting mowing in the morning at 4:00 AM! I couldn't wait to leave and will never go back - oh yes, my husband's grandmother also died when we were in Palm Springs!

For us it was the Carnival Cruise we took in 2000. We were seated with an awful family (and we didn't know back then to ask to be reseated so we just dealt with it). We dreaded dinner every night which mostly consisted of the teen girl complaining loudly about missing her boyfried and filling everyone in on the contents of her phone conversations with him. We tried to explain to the mother and grandmother that the phone calls from ship were really pricey but they brushed us off. On the fourth night they literally SCREAMED at us during dinner because we had not been specific enough when we told then how expensive it was (it was posted on the phone:confused3) because they had been called to guest services to scan the credit card again having hit $500 (all in phone calls). They complained non stop about the waitstaff (who were great) and failed to tip at all on the last day (saying loudly that they paid enough for hte cruise and had no intention of paying any more). Meanwhile the 12 year old boy entertained himself through dinner by belching loudly and making other gross noises intentioanlly. As if dinner were not bad enough, 80% or more of the onboard activites were some form of gambling or drinking games (neitehr of which we wanted to participate in) and the kids hated the child care. Many of the passengers were totally frat party drunk all week and it was normal to find deck chairs thrown in the pool, etc. We could not wait to get off the ship and will never sail Carnival again.

Well, the last time we (whole family) were in Miami we got robbed at gunpoint as we checked into our motel.:scared1:

And the last time I was in Miami with my DM we had cockroaches crawling out of the drain in the tub.

Sooooo, I'm not too crazy about Miami.:sad2:

:scared1::scared1:I can't even imagine--how terrible.

We booked!!!
We just got home from a Wonderful 4 day cruise......and booked this cruise while on board.

Welcome:cheer2:

Hi everyone:

I just found this thread, I booked the TA repositioning cruise last week:yay:. I am Magie, I will be traveling with my DD Michelle and her roomate Chris. No kids this time (school makes that impossible). Michelle and I did a 4 day Wonder in September 2009:cool1:, and will be doing a 7 day Magic with my DGDs in June of this year:thumbsup2:. This cruise looks like it is going to be alot of fun, I cannot get over the fact that the cruise is over a year away and there already are 2 threads each over 200 pages long and a third about to be started:dance3:.

I have not had a chance to read more then a page or two of these threads:sad2: but I am sure that when I do I will enjoy them:woohoo:. We have never been across the Alantic and I am a little fearful of the flight:scared:, but I am sure that it will be worth it.

After I have read all 454 pages:surfweb: I will be back to you. Must go now. Magie

:welcome: Magie!

I, too, spent approx 1 week starting at page 1 on this thread. It's very informative, but take notes because theres lots going on.
