Sept 18 2010 WB TransAtlantic Pirates/Capt Jacks Re-Repoing Repossession Cruise Pt.10

HHHMMM...too bad they WERE able to put all those charges on our credit card at guest services!!! :lmao::rotfl:

I am not actually sure they could. On previous cruises, I always had interim charges to my credit card every 2 or 3 days. This time they only charged the card once right at the end. One of our table mates also told us during breakfast on the last morning that he had a call at 5:00 AM because they could not charge the credit card. It turned out that they were typing in one of the digits wrong. I would have throttled them if they had rang me in the middle of the night, especially if it was their fault.

Hi there fellow WBTA'rs. Just checking to see if anyone booked the Fantasy today for 2012? We moved 3 of our dummy bookings to 3 different Fantasy cruises today (6/23 Western, 8/18 Western and 8/25 Eastern), and the Oceanview price for each, after the rebooking discount, was about what we'd originally booked the WBTA for (before switching to the military rates.)

I was especially excited because I made two onboard bookings while on the WBTA, and had assigned them to a different agency (but with an agent that many of us used for this cruise) and ended up get significantly more OBC as a result. (Plus I love the personalized service!)

I am especially happy about the change in the deposit policy. So far, each of the cruises booked has required a lower deposit that what we would have paid under the old system, even for rebooked reservations. And after originally paying some of the super expensive $600/pp deposits last year (paying >50% of the 10nt MR cruise we'd booked), it was quite a nice change to be talking about deposits payments of $300 some dollars today, rather than deposits of $2400 that we paid last year

I love the new deposit policy as well. The old policy was ridiculous. I know people who paid $600 deposit for the EBTA and their total fare was only $699.

I have not booked anything for 2012 yet. I want to see first what is on offer on the Magic and Wonder in late spring or early summer. I am hoping for something on the Magic in the first half of the year and then maybe a cruise on the Fantasy for my birthday in November.

I'm happy to report that my sister is now home from the hospital. She came home on Friday and actually went back to work today. She's being very careful with her diet and so far so good. She just got home from school and her students made her get well cards!

Dave and I also celebrated out first anniversary on Sunday, the 17th. We had a very relaxing day and went to PF Chang's for dinner. We defrosted our wedding cake and the cake itself was so moist, it tasted like it had been baked the day before! The icing didn't fair as well though, but the cake was great!

So glad Beth's feeling better Amy :goodvibes Sounds like you had a great Anniversary too :lovestruc

OK this is especially to Mandy - would message on FB but can't get on in work.

The mystery about Ruby Tuesday is that the flap had completely broken. She was flown back with no one on her bar pilot and skeleton crew. She has since then sat in the hanger at Gatwick waiting for a replacement flap and is still there as far as we know.

I looked at it but it doesn't match our plans for 2012.

Were going to book onboard the pc cruise for the 8th jan 2012 for the Dream

:banana::banana: maybe do back to back, time to think about it:cool2:

Ooooo, tempting.

BTW, Angie, tell Dennis "thank you" from us; Wayne finally got his posterior down to the DAV and filed his papers. I know Dennis was the big factor in getting him to do that. :flower3:

Please come visit!!

We are both THRILLED that Wayne is getting that taken care of. :goodvibes

Your plans sound amazing and what a way to celebrate turning 40 ( although you know way look anywhere near that age ) . We hope to take time off to travel in the USA once the kids are self sufficient ( if that ever becomes a reality remains to be seen !! ). I had better start saving now !!

hi

thank you for saying that i guess i do not necessarily feel 40 keeping a young disney mind i guess

yeah i plan on travelling to the US via westbound cruise spending 2-3 months doing a round trip around the US then off to canada then off to japan .. then hopefully to either new zealand or australia or maybe south america not decided yet then back home in all i am hoping to be away for about six months

thats the plan I am saving right now so its really doing nothing to get me to the amount i need to do it while having a healthy amount of money to see me through about a year of not working when i return from my long break away

cause my sister thinks i am nuts .. she thinks i am giving up on my career. NOT so I do want to take a break and if i come back and do something new so be it.

I have already been downshifting my posessions and taking books and DVDs to charity shops to reduce my stuff so i can put it all into storage

Jason, Hayley and anyone else whos arrived back on the boards since Friday welcome back. Trust me all you've missed is us all moaning about how much we hate coming back to reality and how much we would love to re-do the cruise lol.

Jason - I can't belive you were only on the 350 mark on the cruise pics onboard. I'm sure we spotted loads more of you than that! Hope you had a good time in WDW. Don't worry I've established most people are idiots and it does my head in too!

lol yeah i thought i should have had more ... i will do better next time

I had a great time in WDW .. however i must admit it seemed less somehow compared to the **** -- OH NO I THINK I GOT THE CRUISE BUG!!

yeah sadly and alot of them were in the WDW parks when i went

oh yeah i got a nice letter from DCL yesterday saying they were very sorry i did not like the trips in tortola and St MAARTEN

Jason, that sounds like an amazing plan and you know if you don't do it now, you probably never will.

We got the biggest kick seeing all of your pictures in Shutters. Don't know the last time I saw someone enjoy themselves that much. Good for you!

We just moved our dummy date to the May 19th, 2012 date on the Fantasy!

Noel - can you please add this to Post #2. Thanks!!

I think it is a fantastic plan and something you should do for sure. We would love to do something like that but with 2 kids seriously damaging our saving potential it is a bit difficult at the moment .... but we definitely plan to take some time out and do some travelling in the USA in the next 5 -10 years. Thats if I can tear myself beyond Florida. You will have to keep us updated with your plans so that we can live vicariously!

Ditto that! We looked for your photos everyday.

So did we ..... you always looked so happy and I loved the way you interacted with the characters :cloud9::cloud9::cloud9:

Jason, go for it. You take such joy in travelling and meeting people, you can't have a bad time. Can I say that I also looked for your photos most days and they brought instant smiles.

Can you pm or email me the TA you used if you can't post?

For 2012 we have a dummy date out there - but they didn't have September dates released yet, so we are still on hold... Really ticked me off as I wanted to get the date moved and all. So, if the pattern of weeks continues we will be on the 9/15/2012 sailing on the Fantasy, which should be a Western. HOWEVER - I am not sure which Western itinerary it will be - there are multiple ones now. One is a double dip at CC, one is what they are doing now with Key West and the other has an alternate to Key West. I can't remember what the port is - Glenn found all the itineraries and told me about them, but hey, turn around is fair play and I only listened to every 8th word... :)

Things here are settling into a "normal" school and work pattern. The house is back to where it was before we left, and we are now gearing up for a large family gathering at Thanksgiving. Lots to do, too little time. I would give my eye teeth for 5 sea days right now!!

Hope that everyone is well!!

Sue

Just a quick sign in to say hello to fellow cruisers!

We did book the Fantasy for the Maiden Voyage. Not sure if we were crazy or foolish, but we did it!

We're also going to keep the Van - LAX repo of the Wonder in September (9/20/2011) and then spend a few days at D'land (hopefully getting the Villas at the Grand California) visiting with old friends and relaxing!

Sue - I sent you a PM with the contact info for the TA.

I went through all of the port schedules last week and put together a calendar, and was going to say that it looks like a Western cruise that you're heading for in sept 2012. Since the schedule shows the Fantasy continuing on the same schedule as the first part of the summer, I assume it'll be the same schedule as they have now for 2012 Fantasy Westerns (Cayman/Cozumel/Costa Maya but no Key West.) Key West doesn't have any Disney ships showing after May 1st. The Magic is showing as starting bi-weekly Cayman stops on 9/25/12 and continuing on through 4/23/13, which we're all assuming means they'll be doing a modified western out of Galveston or someplace other than PC.

OK Jason I am so so jealous! Can I come in your suitcase?

Hi

everyone THANK YOU for the kind words its great to know I made people smile

I really loved the cruise and being at disney world and yes I really love travelling and meeting people its great fun !

I had a great time with the characters – they were among the best mind you in Disney world I saw mini mouse all alone in Hollywood studios she was knelt down as she had just been with a kid I helped her up and said how much i loved mini and what she had done for me as a child when i was scared of the characters she was awesome. She spent ages with me just completely doted over me – that was awesome. I know the reality but it does not matter.

Really it was great for me I have a very stressful job and to be able to have some real fun when i go on vacation is great its just what i need and hopefully next year I will be able to do what I plan. It does mean I need to save cash so nothing extravagant for the next 10 months.

I have already started to save as much money as I can about 2/thirds of my wages a month I need a certain amount for keeping me going when I return that’s the first thing. Then everything I make beyond that amount is escape money.

You are all right life is for living and to have some fun ... I have a nephew and niece from my sister I will miss them but hay what an adventure! Besides I am probably at my happiest when travelling and meeting new people. You are right if i do not do it now I never will.

This weekend I will start to upload my trip report and photos I am using yahoo groups to do it .. There are some pictures of friends like Walt and DI and Stuart who were great I will make it open so everyone can see them.

To you all I REALLY enjoyed the cruise and disney world it was a blast meeting new people and maybe we will meet one another again .. it was said to me "this is a reunion" I can see why people go back on cruise. Next year is massive for me it’s always been in my plan that 40 would be a time of change and a time to review my life and I am really looking forward to it.

I really loved being on the cruise it was an amazing experience .. even when i did not enjoy some of the organised tours I loved the travelling ..
