Paul

Last night when we were at the craft store, my husband tells me that he thinks a piece of his tooth fell out LAST WEEK. He said he was eating Honey Pecan Ice Cream (YES! Ice Cream!!) and when he took a bite, he spit out a "hard piece of pecan." But last night when he was checking out his teeth, he realized a piece of his tooth was missing!!!!! I suggested he call our dentist immediately (our dentist is also a family member!) but naturally he said "oh it's fine...just missing...doesn't hurt."

When I saw the post about the tooth I had to look twice to see who posted it--especially since my husband does not post!!! How strange...first multiple people are getting pimples and now people are losing chunks of teeth.

And guess what!?!?! I just had a phonemail message from my husband...he's on the way to the dentist !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am sitting here at work counting down the hours. Have to work until 5:00 today and then noon tomorrow! I am surprisingly very calm…I actually can’t believe how calm I am. But every once in a while I get this VERY excited/nervous feeling in my stomach and I can’t believe the time is here!

I made myself an FE this morning. I am only participating in the postcard exchange and originally said “no FE.” Then I thought I’d get a little something to hang on the fish so I changed my notation to “yes FE.” But here we were 3 days before the cruise and I hadn’t found anything! So last night I went to the local craft store and bought two 6-inch red tote bags. I brought them to work with me this morning and within 15 minutes I had an FE! I tucked in the front handles of both bags, then hot glued the one handle to the bottom of the other bag. I found some red/white ribbon at home and glued a strip of that along the top edge of each bag. I cut out two Mickey heads out of blue foam and glued one to each bag and with liquid paint, put our names on the Mickey heads. Nothing fancy and certainly not as impressive as Erik & Jason’s FE but this is about as crafty as I get ! I feel better having something for the postcards to go into, too. It doesn’t look too bad.

Can’t wait to get to Barcelona…can’t wait to experience jet lag (actually not looking forward to that at all – or the long flight!)…can’t wait for the drink-of-the-day :drinking1 and all the fun the 14 days onboard will bring !!

Linda

Can't wait too! :cool1: Happy travelling!

:rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl2: Well done on the 50 lengths!!! :worship: I am no swimmer so opted to do 10,000 steps on the treadmill...

Thanks...10,000 steps sounds awesome too though! :worship:

Hi all. Sitting in lounge at hotel Praktik Rambla. No time to read anything. Good journey yesterday & great day rambling around. Very warm, & lovely place.
Travelled with Chasity &Gus. Not seen anyone else yet. Slow Internet!!!!

Looking forward to seeing you all.

Hi Marilyn! Glad you arrived safely....see you soon!:banana:

I have only 3 more hours at work and then I am headed to New Orleans to spend the night near the airport. My co-worker and I went to eat Mexican for lunch and we each had 2 large frozen Margaritas!!! :drinking1 . Needless to say, I am feeling good.....:dance3: ..... just getting a head start on the next 2 weeks!!!

See everyone in Barcelona on Friday at the HRC or Saturday on the Magic!!!

yum...margeritas! :banana::banana:

You guys are SOOOOOOOO sensible!!!!

This night calls for pink fizz - I've got some lovely pink Prosecco on the go... Cheers!!!

Congratulations on the joint weight loss results!!! You must both be so pleased...

Thanks....I reckon that the 4.5 stone we've lost I should be able to take in extra shoes & clothes.....right?:rotfl2:

:littleangel:

[QUOTEWow!!! Get you, Linda!!! Your FE sounds cool - I'm SO uncrafty, 1 year I had a plastic bag outside the door!!! Mind you, it was a Harrods one that I found in the MCO Hyatt room we'd stayed in the night before... :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl2:
Karen, do you have an FE? When I bought the little red tote bags, they came in a bag of 3 (three for $1 !!!!). If you would like me to bring it for you I can. I might have some more foam sheets and can even cut out a Mickey head for you and put your name on it if you want.

PS I am NOT crafty at all....some people will look at my FE and think "a plastic bag would have been better."

Well, I'm in the Atlanta airport. One more flight to get home; then it's unpack and re-pack. We're off tomorrow morning! See you soon!

So sometimes I tend to get obsessed with certain things (like this DIS?:guilty:) Other things as well. Since we don't fly into Barcelona until Saturday...and I really want to at least be able to do a tour and see some of the city, I've been obsessed with trying to think of every scenario possible to assure that we can see some of the city. If at port by this time, we can do this. If not until that time, then we can only see this...etc. etc. The other 3 in our travel party say we just have to wait and see and play it by ear. But since there's that part of me that says "I can't fly into Spain and not see something!!!" I've still tried to come up with a plan (or 5 of them based on arrival time!!) As the date has gotten closer, I've accepted that there's nothing I can do about our arrival time and so we will "wing it" once we get to Barcelona. And I've reminded myself that if I don't get to see Barcelona, my trip will not be ruined...seeing Barcelona will be a bonus to a great 14 day trip !!! But back to being obsessed.....I've been tracking the flight we are taking....on Monday, the flight landed in Barcelona at 7:36 -- very exciting since that's about 20 minutes earlier than scheduled. I need to stop looking because yesterday's flight never left JFK until after 9:00 and didn't arrive to Barcelona until 10:45 !

I will accept whatever happens.....as long as the plane lands and I get on the ship I will be happy.:dance3:

That is SPOOKY!!! :scared1: Hope your husband gets sorted at the dentist... For my part, I've slathered anti-h cream on my neck this evening and I think it feels better... That's what I'm telling myself!!!

It's how I lost weight - me and my trusty pedo cranking out 10k steps per day... :thumbsup2 And yes, you SHOULD be able to take extras!!! :teeth:

Thanks for the offer, Linda, bless you!!! Nowadays I DO have a custom made FE - I confess I paid someone to get crafty on my behalf. ;) And I bet no one will think that about yours - it will look great!!! As long as it does the job!!! :goodvibes

Mark has decided our holiday has started here and brought home a bottle of pink bubbly!:banana::banana:

It's partly to celebrate the holiday and partly top celebrate us both reaching our pre-cruise weight loss target.....2.5 stone (35 lbs) for Mark and 2 stone (28 lbs) for me in just over 9 weeks!!!!!:woohoo::woohoo:

So.......Cheers!!

Bottoms up! Mark is my kinda guy! Good job on the bubbly!

And well done on your pre-cruise weight loss!

See everyone in Barcelona on Friday at the HRC or Saturday on the Magic!!!

Pam, are you flying from Newark tomorrow at 7:20? We fly Continental out of Newark at 6:40 (layover in Heathrow), so we may see you tomorrow at the airport. :)

Well, I'm in the Atlanta airport. One more flight to get home; then it's unpack and re-pack. We're off tomorrow morning! See you soon!

We were just at Atlanta airport on Friday. Security was AWFUL! Hope you faired better than we did. Safe travels!

Yes, we are on the 7:20PM CO flight to Barcelona......Lisa and her family (goiu) are also on that flight. I have a really long layover so maybe I can come find your gate and say HI!

IKWYM. I live in London so Barcelona's a mere 2 hour flight away for us BUT we've never made it. TBH I guess that it's way down our list of European cities to visit as we're more Francophiles than anything...

Anyway, I arrive at 10.10 (supposedly) on Saturday morning and would like to see SOMETHING (anything) so am planning on getting my bags to the the Magic and possibly leaving as soon as I've checked in to go and scope out a little bit of Barcelona. It would definitely be a bonus and it depends how tired I feel, but I have a small plan that I'd like to see happen... :goodvibes

OMG. I accidentally left a packing cube full of unmentionables on the floor. Alex is a little pissed. Literally. I went to put the packing cube in a suitcase, and whiff. PU! That whole packing cube is on the "sanitize" cycle in my wash right now. Little bugger. I know he gets upset by suitcases, but he's been so good lately. Not what I wanted to deal with at the moment. :headache:

Other than that, Mike this moment decided he wants to look for a new tux jacket?? We've had this cruise booked for 2 years, and he decides this < 24 hours before we leave? I told him he is on his own. I am evil that way. :scared1:

I am actually getting ready to go bed in about an hour (yes, about 5:30pm EDT). I worked 11pm last night to 7am this morning, and I haven't slept yet. Hoping this gives me a good head start to sleeping on the plane tomorrow evening. :cloud9:

Hope everyone still here has safe travels. And God willing, we will see you all at the HRC on Friday night!

xx

I hope Zachary and Adam will be get a chance to talk to you about the country where you live. That would count as social studies!

SURE! They are more than welcome... In our party are e.g. three nationalities... German, Turkish and Danish. So... There's gonna be a lot to talk about!

We are on flight 28 going to Heathrow. I've never been in the Continental International Terminal so I have no idea how big it is (I know Continental domestic flights are all right next to each other). Hope to see you! Mike always keeps me posted on your Facebook status as he gets mobile updates. :)

I just checked the flight status...you will be leaving from gate C121 and I will leave from gate C80.......unless they decide to change it. I will try to walk over that way and see if I can find you. I plan on wearing khaki capris and a brown shirt. I will have a black DCL rolling bag with me. DH (Mike) is wearing black shorts and a light colored shirt....look for us!!!!

What time are you getting to the airport? I will arrive around noon from New Orleans. Gonna be a long afternoon, but I wanted it that way because I was worried about a hurricane delaying us out of New Orleans.....rather be sitting in Newark than New Orleans!!

Well I am very excited to be heading across the Atlantic Ocean with you all - I've sailed many times before but I love all the extra entertainment on these longer voyages! Word has it that they have created new entertainment since the Eastbound TA.

Desperate Shipmates has a new plot and new characters! and I don't miss any of the clues!

See you all real soon!

Rudy Finkus

Welcome on board.

Wishing a safe and easy journey (and that everyone's luggage comes in underweight) to all those leaving/left already.

Thanks for all the well wishes for my dd. She is much improved this a.m. and heading off to school. Boy the steroids really help.

So now I have two days to pack and get ready before we leave. The kids are excited. They really loved the trans last time.

I am glad that your daughter is better and looking forward to finally meeting you.

Can I vent, steam and cry for a moment? Please feel free to pass this by, but - be warned dining is involved...

So, I think that I was doing a pretty good job of keeping it together. I packed for the 4 of us, I did the tastings (and all tickets were charged today!!), I did the FE, I am waiting to print out the navigators as I wanted to bring some extras, and I have the master list info from Glenn - so I can print them tomorrow at work.

Then I got the bomb shell... (OK skimmers, STOP and read!!)

Dining has changed AGAIN!!!!

I swear I am close to tears. I just got everything figured out and now BAMMO, it is changed. All I know is that the second formal night has changed. I don't have rotations - but I have asked for them... I could be wrong - maybe it is just the night of the formal night...

OK - yes, it is just the night of the 2nd formal night. It is now on night 7. I am beside myself. Nothing has been easy today! Nothing!!! I could just sit and cry right now!

My house looks like a bomb went off, Beccas teacher decided that she wouldn't send school work with her, and told me that she will get 5 days to finish 2 weeks of work (the week they are in and the week that we missed) which is totally different than what we were told last year. I am afraid of what Stephen will be up against and he is working so hard to keep his grades up. I am doing a send off lunch for one of my senior employees tomorrow. He is moving to Australia on the 1st and I won't be here for that. I am an emotional wreck! I really can't take any more. So I am sitting in the gym watching Becca flip all over and all I want to do is cry...

WAHHHHHHH WAHHHHHHH WAHHHHHHH

Ok - pity party is over...

I am sorry that you are having such a hard time. I think there are a few of us that are getting very stressed at the moment. Just think, in 3 days we will be on the Magic and all will be well. This is the only thing that keeps me going at the moment.

Well my shapewear has arrived this morning so just need to try that on later and I just realised that my second formal dress has yet to arrive ... one that I am having made ... so it has either today or tomorrow to arrive otherwise I will be wearing the same dress twice. :rotfl2:

I hope that it will arrive in time. I am still frantically waiting for some stuff and so far no sign. One shipped on Saturday and the other shipped today. I am just hoping that it will get there in time. Fortunately I am having it sent to work so if it gets here tomorrow, I am fine.

Have had a rubbish afternoon with major hiccup with dd...........:sad2:

I'm beginning to think I shouldn't be going on this holiday and should be staying at home to keep an eye on her :sad1: I just really need this break though.......and Mark even more so :rolleyes1

Someone get me out of here please and tell me everything will be ok while I'm away! :headache:

:littleangel:

You have to come. I would really miss you otherwise. Everything will work out.

Quick question while I have a second at work. Has anyone heard from Krisann recently? I don't think she leaves until Friday but I have been trying to get hold of her to check something. If anyone knows if she's gonna be back on here before we leave can you let me know? I know everyone's hectic at the moment (me included) so no worries.

Sarah

I think Krisann left last Friday and is now in either Germany or Austria.

The numbers are slowly declining as others begin the adventure.

Quick questions for those still around.

Does anyone remember if they have ginger ale at the soda station on deck 9?

Safe travels,
Jon

Unfortunately not. I developed a serious Ginger Ale habit on the med cruise and even though it was readily available in the restaurants at meal times, it was not available at the drink station.

I am rapidly getting ready to lose the will to live. I have had two horrendous days at work. Yesterday I was running from one meeting to the other. Today I had another meeting to conduct and type up the minutes, start on my quarterly evaluations and deal with more than my fair share of complaints as well as following up on a number of issues that came up yesterday. Tomorrow I have an admin day, which means that I should hopefully be uninterrupted. I need to get the bulk of the quarterly evaluations done, do the minutes for the meeting from yesterday and do one more meeting and type up the minutes. I hope that I will get this all done in 8 hours. At least when I leave here tomorrow, I can say I am on vacation.

Every cloud has its silver lining though and in my case my silver lining came in the shape of my DH Graham. He is not one that really does formal. The best that I could hope for on Formal Nights is a short-sleeved collared shirt, chinos and a vest. I still love him. Yesterday he surprised me by going shopping for a lovely suit with matching vest. He even was laying out shirts that match the colours of my formal and semi-formal dresses and let me choose a Disney tie to go with it. I am so glad that we are going to get the photo CD this time round as we should get some wonderful photos.

I am pretty much packed. The case comes in at just shy of 18kg and I am allowed 20kg so that is fine. In the end I packed 5 pairs of gym socks, 13 pairs of underpants, 6 swimsuits, a pair of gym shorts, 5 trousers/ pants, 6 t shirts, my beloved two Tunisian dresses, 4 sun dresses, 4 evening gowns, 7 dresses for dinner, my Pirate skirt and corset, 2 Pashminas, a lace wrap for Pirate Night, my Pirate Bandana, a pair of Mary Jane Crocs, my Pirate Night shoes and a pair of Flip Flops.

I will wear my Pirate Night top, my jacket and my running shoes. The formal shoes will go in my carry on together with jewellery/ accessories, materials for the jewellery workshops I am doing, documents, Pacsafe bag, chargers, Fish Extender, trading pins and a pillow case for signing. So I am pretty happy right now. I just have to finish off everything at work and then I am good to go. See you all on the ship.

Corinna

FE's are ready to go. I have been waxed, manicured, pedicured, spray tanned and hair cut and ready to go. Am I completely packed yet????????????? NOOOOOO!!!!!

We are getting picked up at our house at 3:30, which puts us at the airport around 4:30 for our 6:40 flight. God willing, we won't have too much trouble at security. We usually don't at Newark, but I've only flown domestically out of there!

I know I will be in khakis too. Probably a white shirt. Mike's outfit will be a game day decision. :)

We will look for you!

All that talk about zits and I just noticed one under my nose!!! Ahhh! It is contagious like a sneeze or yawn!

I blame it all on the stress of packing. Just glad it's nothing worse!

Well done, both of you. And good on ya, Mark!

Hi all. Sitting in lounge at hotel Praktik Rambla. No time to read anything. Good journey yesterday & great day rambling around. Very warm, & lovely place.

I hope that works for you.

You have to come. I would really miss you otherwise. Everything will work out.

I totally agree w/you on this, Corinna.

My DH is also swamped, so there will be a lot of people who really NEED this vacation (i.e., holiday).
