I just checked the easyjet site for some information and found this!!! Good luck to those still to travel. We're not leaving the UK untill Saturday morning 7.15, let's hope the airlines can fly around France!! Sorry to bring disturbing news but thought it best to warn.

Current Status

A general strike has been announced in France, commencing on the 15th September 2010 and lasting until 23:59 on the 23rd September. French Air Traffic Control will be taking part in this strike action.

As France is centrally located in Europe, this is affecting flights not only to and from France, but also those operating through or near French airspace.

These issues are impacting all airlines and easyJet is working hard to minimise disruption to our passengers during this time.

We therefore strongly advise all customers to check the status of their flight before travelling to the airport."

We are packing tonight and leaving tomorrow. We have everything out and just have to put it in the bags. We are old hats at this and will be fine with one bag each and a carry on just in case our main bag doesn't make it with us.

Gus and I arrived safely in Barcelona yesterday night. However, I wasn't feeling well when we left and ended up going the the hospital at 4am this morning! After having an IV to bring down my fever and taking my first dose of anitbotics I'm just starting to feel better! So glad that I went before the cruise as it turns out I have an upper respiratory infection. Haven't gotten to do much yet since have been mainly resting but did spend some time with Marilyn & John (who are so sweet!).
Hoping to do the hop on hop off bus tomorrow and finally get out there and see some Barcelona!!!
Hope to see some more Diser's soon! Hope you all get here safely and healthfully!

Well, we are all set to leave in the morning. All the bags are packed except for a sound machine that the kids are using tonight. Everyone is sound asleep! So, I'm off to try and join them. We are so excited to leave! Me and Emma got a pedicure (her first time). So, that was special this afternoon. See you all on the boat or at the Renaissance or at Newark! We aren't going to come to HRC with the two little ones. Didn't know how they would be after traveling in a plane for 12 hrs tomorrow!

Finally got some time to come over and say hi to everyone. Sorry work has been manic. Today is my first day off and I feel like I haven't done anything! At the moment I'm stuck over my Mums waiting for my flip flops to arrive as I have to sign for them! Still no letter from the DVLA to say my driving liscense is still valid so not gonna be using that as ID. Still not packed! Still not done last minute pampering other than I've stolen some of my Mums nail varnish to do my toe nails! Wouldn't mind so much but Mums boilers broken and can't get hold of her boiler man to come look at it so it can be fixed! Nightmare!

Anyway hope all those that are ill get well soon! Wishing everyone safe travels. Checked EasyJet site and the flight seems to be OK so I guess well find out tomorrow what impact France has on us.

Walked to Sagrada Familia thia morning. Just amazing, but queue too long to want to wait in heat to go in. Resting now then another long walk down to marina to visit Lynne(orlandothebeagle). Love it here.

After a quick visit to say bye to my dad, we'll head home and put the final touches on the suitcases. Pretty much packed--just need to add in a few things. Hoping for a good night sleep tonight ! Our son will take us to the airport at 10:00 a.m. for our noon flight ! I cannot imagine how I will feel tomorrow morning! Or when I land in Barcelona!!! I've never travelled further from Ohio than Florida!!!!! I imagine I will be beside myself with excitement and I know myself well enough to know there will be a few tears too but happy/excited "I can't believe I'm here" tears !

Well we are in Barcelona at the Pratik Barcelona. We land around 8:45 a.m I did not not sleep on the plane. Got through custom and Immigrations with no problems. Take a taxi from the port to here. It took about 30 min to get here. It cost about 37 euros and we charge for eight bags. We went and walked around then and we ended walking to La Sagrada Familia. We we got back and check in to our hotel and saw how far the La Sagrada Familia was from our hotel.It was 2.5 miles direct and we were walking randomly. We think we walk around 7 mile already. We will see you at the magic fountain tonight

We are leaving the house at 9:30 for a 1:30 flight! We get to Atlanta at 3:05 and leave for Barcelona at 5:55!!!!! I am excited, but I would rather sail the ocean than fly over it.

Dennis is taking an hour nap since we did not sleep much on the plane last night. Swiss Air is really, really nice though. I'm going to shower (phew! I need it!) and then get Dennis in the shower so we can meet Noel, Melanie and spouses at 6 to go to Flamenco Show and dinner.

i had to rush to my dentist for an emergency appointment only to be told they couldn't fit me in till TUESDAY
After explaining my sittuation they gave me the number of someone the other side of town.
30 minutes later i was having my tooth drilled and filled!!!!

I had exactly the same thing happen a week ago. I am glad that you got it sorted.

Just went to town and managed to find myself a dress which will suffice for the second formal night seeing as my other dress didn't arrive on time.

I am sorry that your dress did not arrive, but I am glad that you found an alternative.

Last night when we were at the craft store, my husband tells me that he thinks a piece of his tooth fell out LAST WEEK. He said he was eating Honey Pecan Ice Cream (YES! Ice Cream!!) and when he took a bite, he spit out a "hard piece of pecan." But last night when he was checking out his teeth, he realized a piece of his tooth was missing!!!!! I suggested he call our dentist immediately (our dentist is also a family member!) but naturally he said "oh it's fine...just missing...doesn't hurt."
When I saw the post about the tooth I had to look twice to see who posted it--especially since my husband does not post!!! How strange...first multiple people are getting pimples and now people are losing chunks of teeth.
And guess what!?!?! I just had a phonemail message from my husband...he's on the way to the dentist !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What is it with teeth at the moment? I hope that he gets it all sorted out.

A lot of it is down to my shiny new suitcase. Based on a recommendation on here, I got a SUB 0 G suitcase, which only weighs 2.5 kg. My old suitcase weighed nearly 8 kg empty so I could never have done this.

I am so sorry that you are poorly. I hope that you will recover quickly and that you are OK to join us all on the Magic.

Well, I am all done with what I had to do at work and I am nearly finished for the day. The taxi will pick me up in about 30 minutes to take me to the airport. We will spend the night at one of the airport hotels. We leave early tomorrow and hopefully we will meet up with the other DISers that will be on the same flight. Everybody who still has their trip to Barcelona ahead, have a safe journey. I will see you either tomorrow at the HRC or Saturday on the ship.
