Sept 18 2010 WB TransAtlantic Pirates/Capt Jacks Re-Repoing Repossession Cruise Pt.10

Hi everyone ... just back from a long weekend in London .... it really made me appreciate how well things are done in other European cities. The Underground system was appalling ... it took us a 7 hour round trip to get from the docklands to the Hard Rock Cafe for dinner, due to line closures, delays, suspected emergencies etc etc. Total Nightmare. How London Transport will ever cope with the crowds expected during the Olympics is beyond me.

Also there is no longer any British atmosphere or identity to London ..... in 4 days we were served by ONE person who spoke English as a first language. At least in Barcelona it feels like Spain, and in Rome / Venice it feels like Italy, but in London you could be anywhere in the world ... a very strange place indeed. Maybe that is a good thing ... :rotfl2:

Visited some interesting places: The Tower of London, The Ceremony of the Keys, and Camden Lock Market, and the MCM Expo (where the kids were). I will be posting some interesting photos sometime soon.

Hi everyone

moving house so i will lose my broad band. I am going on 3g which seems to be ok actually so far in my tests. I have a 15 GB allowance every month. We will see.

I will only really post trip reports now and then But i will post

Moving to a new place that is alot cheaper (over £100) that is better in my pocket and my holiday fund!!

I will see if the 3 g is ok then I will if i have to install line base broad band - cannot do without internet.

Would love to see you on the 2011 WBTA... ;)

I am more than happy to send you one - can you get me an email - or do you want us to upload to photobucket?

Sue - I'd love a good copy too. I can get off of photobucket if you have a high res print. Or you can email me one at my disname at yahoo.com. Thanks!

On a side note actually spoke to a CM in regards to the stateroom gift. Now they are trying to find an extra pendant. But, of course it is something that is dealt with by a third party. They are looking into the signature issue, we hope that it wasn't actually the stateroom host. He was really good and he did have us sign for other items. Don't believe he would have signed Candida's name when he had us sign other things. Plus, Candida never signed for anything so he wouldn't have had a sample of her signature to copy. Problem is someone else mayhave signed it but when it comes down to it he will be the one to most likely be blamed.

I wanted to post earlier, but ended up travelling every week in October for work and finally have a minute to catch up on this thread. This cruise was the first time we ever had to sign something indicating we had our CC gift in our stateroom and OBC slip, and it seriously seemed like something the stateroom hostess asked us to do only because we saw her in the hallway while she was working on our room somewhere around the midpoint of the cruise. Made me wonder if it was a new policy, or something that the stateroom host/hostess usually signed when the guest was out of the room.

At least you got a thumbnail sheet. We had issues due to a lost KTTW card and none of our embarkation day photos made our CD. We didn't know until we were home, and now it is too late to do anything about it... So, if anyone has photos of the Krafts from Embarkation day, please hang on to them. We are setting up a FTP site and I would love to have them!!

Have you emailed the shutters people to see if they could get your photos for you and send them to you? We were missing our castaway cay photos from the CD, and I sent an email and Stephanie (Shutters Manager) emailed back to me a few days later, (along with a note to give Princess Sophia and Prince Chris a hug from her!) I'd had a problem in December where someone had taken my KTTW card midcruise, and I had to get our room rekeyed, which then cut off access to view our photos on the kiosk. I didn't realize that some of our photos were missing until we got the CD, so I had the email them to get the missing photos. I didn't have any problems that time either.

To all of you who didn't get your embarkation photos, we received duplicates of ours (and most of our photos from the first 2 days). They said they had a problem where some photographer's photos were loaded twice, so I wonder if that meant they failed to load someone else's photos.

If the stateroom host/hostess signed it they would need to sign their own name with a /for the guest. Forging the guest's name would be not only unethical but probably illegal.

Hi Everyone,

Things here are hectic, so whioe I am not posting much - I am reading (and getting green with envy as well...) Post cruise depression is still around, and while we are booked on a 2011 cruise - it isn't a DCL one, and I am not feeling the love of the large group - which - SUCKS!!! I started a thread on Cruise Critic and we are up to a rousing 18 posts I think... Might not be that high... oh - and all but 6 are from me... :: sigh :: Cant wait to be able to bok our 2012 with DCL and get back into a family of cruisers. We are still waiting for the September 15th 7 night on the Fantasy, so those of you that might be interested look for a thread for it... As soon as the dates open I will start it...

Just a quick post to let you all know I didn't fall off the face of the earth.:cool1:

I can't tell you how much I miss being on the Magic. Work has been a horror. I am so glad to be going to dinner theater tonight. YAY! :woohoo::woohoo:

Disney World wasn't the same for me this time. I found standing in line for 35 minutes to get a small plate of food (4 bites) and a sip of wine, when I had good food served to me daily... sigh

I found standing waiting for characters more than 15 minutes annoying. :rolleyes1

I found walking more than a ship's length exhausting. :rotfl:

And where the heck did that spa go? Where are the towel animals? Where is my deck chair?

But more than anything... where the heck are my 300 close personal friends???? I so miss not walking more than 50 feet without a yellow lanyard sighting!

I just miss you all so much it hurts. Really. Miss you all.

I so agree with all of this!!!

I too miss not being able to step out my door and be surrounded by all my new friends.

YEAH!! this too!!

DD Taryn has now been offered a face to face interview with Disney fir the ICP next summer .... one stage further !!! ( and one step closer to me making some holiday plans! )

That is AWESOME!!! So is this program advertised anywhere? How do we learn more incase on of our kids wants to try and get involved?

OK - back to lurking and beating the Green Giant of jealousy... :lmao:

How about spring break instead on the Fantasy? The Apr 7 2012 maiden voyage of the Fantasy is what we have decided to do in 2012.

Marc and I are also on the Fantasy's maiden voyage.

We're still crossing our fingers that the Magic will do a WBTA in the fall of 2012, too. We did rebook the 2011 onboard but there's too much happening that fall already....like a b2b on the Wonder, Van - L.A. and then followed by a Mex Riviera. All of that takes place during the WBTA so can't be in both.

I am sorry you guys won't be joining us on the WBTA 2011. We choose doing the WBTA 2011 over the LA to Vancouver Repo since we live on the west coast.

Would you let me know your exact cruise dates so I can post them on post 2?

I'm sorry you won't be joining us. If there is any way we can change your minds? You can do Mexican cruises any time you want, but TA's not too often.;)

Sept 20 - 25, 2011: Vancouver to Los Angeles
Sept 25 - Oct 2, 2011: Mexican Riviera
April 7, 2012: Fantasy Maiden Voyage

We tossed and turned all over on this one, Marilyn. We just packed too much into 2011. We had such a ball on the WBTA but we can do a very inexpensive flight MEX-VAN/LAX-MEX so we're gonna grab that. (STILL wishing those fares for the PC cruise would come down, but that's not looking likely either!).
