Sept 17 2005 Magic - am i alone on the ship?

Hi Jen, Tracy is still staying with me before the cruise. She has reserved the room for her mom and sister. Just didn't want you to make a change on the website for nothing.

Still no docs here. I can't wait to get them. Tracy said the time is going by slow. For me it is going by fast bc I am not ready. I had hoped to have some significant weight off. NOT. :confused3 Don't understand why this Wendy's McD's diet isn't working!!! :rotfl2:

Well the kids are tearing up the bathroom taking a shower so I should go in there and take charge.

Til later,

KD -karen

I just got up from a much needed nap - it's been a long week! Like Karen D said, the room is for my mom and sister. Will they need to sign up for something in order to have the hotel grab their luggage the night before? They did purchase transfers from DCL.

My TA sent me an email today indicating docs should arrive 2-3 weeks before the cruise - so maybe by next week. I'm certain they haven't gone out from DCL as of today - we made some name changes and then changed back.

These last few weeks aren't going fast enough for me! I want to pack already and get going! Kids go back to school in about 16 days and then only one more week until we leave.

Oh, btw, Jen we are also going the second Lord Sheffield ship. I think they called it the Capt Morgan - right Karen D? Thats my family (DH,DD,DS and myself) along with Meemom and Lisa (my sister).

Ok, I guess thats it for me! Back to work tomorrow and here's hoping the next 24 days go quickly! :wave2:

Tracy and Karen, send me things your kids liket to do for the website. Just a little on each one of them....then they can log on and see what others their age are like and vice versa.

I wonder if the Lord(s) will ever cross paths...we can have screaming pirate wars!! Lorra, Heard anything about a third ship? I think we have almost the eintire first two...I know the first one for sure.
Tracy...it is funny...your kids start school in 16 days and my kids will be 1/4 done in10 days. With the teacher Trenton has all I can say is thank goodness!

When do your kids start school? When's summer break? :confused3

We are on year around schools. Start July 7th go for 9 weeks, off for 3 weeks (sept3-26) go for 9 weeks, off for five (Thanksgiving to after New Years, go for 9, off for 3 go for 9, off for 5 start over) There are four "tracks" this is just ours. It is really nice in a lot of ways. The negatives are short summer (but I don't want my kids home for 13 weeks thankyou....7 or8 would be nice though) and the kids are in the same class with the same kids from kindergarten on ( so same 10 boys and 17 girls in Trenton's class for the past 5 years) I think we will go traditional either next year or the year after. It all has to do with enrollment, getting the numbers down. I really hope they go to some sort of modified trad (8 weeks off in summer, 2 in fall, 2 in winter, 2 in spring) We will see. I really like having the breaks during the year....makes traveling a lot easier. I would pull my kids for vacations but it will get harder and harder as they get older. Anyway....that's it in a nut shell. Got your PM. When I can get on the other comp I will update. I don't know why this computer won't let me...

Jen, I think I would like year round school better. It sounds like a schedule that would be easier to plan trips around. What part of CO is Highland's Ranch in? When my husband retires in a couple of years I would love to move to CO. I have alwys wanted to live there. Imho CO is the most beautiful state. I have relatives that live in UT and I have visited CO on visits to see them and I love it. Now I just have to sell my dh
on it. He has never been. We were planning on going this summer before he was sent
overseas. Oh well, enough rambling, I was just curious as to where Highland's Ranch is. -Donna

The furthest suburb south of Denver. We love COlo. If only cruiseships left from here! It is great to be able to pop up to places for the weekend that people spend their entire vacation budgets to get to. Well, now you know someone in Denver, so come on out! 30 minutes and you are in the mountains! We enjoy them so much more in the summer. not much of a skier and unless you ski you don't really have to deal with snow and cold...so I try to stay out of the mountains in the winter.

Jen are you dressing for pirate night? Just wondering. We have always gotten away with tropical wear however this year it seems more and more are going pirate! I hate to think that there is something else I have to buy for this cruise.

DH's a go for a pirate shirt. :cool1: I'm gonna go shopping this week for a skirt and white top and i'll probably get some red fabric to put around my waste and pull it all together. If I see anything for the kids i'll give you a call. :teeth: Maybe we can get DH's matching shirts. :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I forgot who mentioned it a couple of days ago but today I saw all types of glow in the dark necklaces, bracelets, earrings etc at the dollar tree. Some had 2 in each package. Gotta love the Dollar Tree!! They also had the hanging shoe holders. This weekend I finished everything for me and ds. Lots of good sales this weekend. It was a bit crowded since school starts on Thurs. here. :thewave: Tues is meet the teacher day. :teacher: -Donna

HI to all!!!
Welcome aboard to the new folks.
Mommasita glad to hear about the star quaterback, 2 TD's is awesome! :cheer2:
Not much here this weekend. I have put off the anniversary celebration. Angela just thinks there will be none. HA,HA,HA. I love it.
The plan will be a Bed & Breakfast trip(thanks to Jen, for that idea) to Nashville,IN or Indy. Not sure which.

I have been following the "LIVE-Repo cruise thread" only making even more anxious. "I'm HAPPY oh so HAPPY!!!!"

I'm off to bed, will check back in tomorrow a.m. See ya'

BRAD :teeth:

Okay, I just hit the "x" on the webpage, so I have to start over.

I got an email from our TA today about the docs. He said he's going on an Alaskan cruise and land vacation from 8/24 to 9/5 and expects to get our docs while he's gone. If he does, he'll send them the week of 9/5. (For geographical frame of reference and mailing time, he's in Colorado and we're in Ohio). I hope he gets them before he leaves because I don't want to wait that long (and that feels like it's cutting it a bit close), but at least that gives me a frame of reference. Our TA is great. Tim Larison with Cruising Co. Etc. (an affiliate of Mouse Ear Vacations). I didn't even have to email to ask; he just took the initiative to let us know. Great, great TA.

I took a loooooooooooooooooooooong nap today, so I think I'll get the door signs printed tomorrow. For anyone who still wants one, check out post 1250 page 84 of this thread for a preview.

Wendy, congrats on the new car. I've decided that in 3 or 4 years, after my car has been paid off for a year or so, I'll buy a Toyota Prius. Those are hybrid cars. When my friends and I went to California for vacation last year, my friend's uncle let us borrow his Prius to drive into LA. It runs on gas, but when you're idling, it switches to battery power. Saves a HUGE amount on gas, and that would be really handy these days!

My great-grandma is hanging in there. I'll keep you posted.

Rebecca, did you get my email?

Congrats to everyone on formal wear purchases. I am thinking about looking on eBay for Hawaiin attire for Pirate night.

Well, I think that's about it for now. TTFN!

No I still haven't heard anything from Lord's so I don't know if we can go or not. Well, I had a long weekend an I'm going to bed now.

Lorra :wave2:

Donna, thanks for the tip on glow in the dark necklaces. I'll check Dollar Tree here. Otherwise, I don't have plans for pirate night. DH is showing little interest, but I know how it works -- when everyone else is all decked out, "why didn't we do that?" Oh well, I feel glad to just have some odds and ends to pick up before the cruise, most importantly our scoplamine patches. Glad to know Hotwire is still working out for our group. My friend who is from Fla. told me today there is a Macaroni Grill in the Orlando airport now, but it does close at 9pm, she thought. We will probably eat there Friday night. As far as what to do abt the Hyatt getting your luggage, etc. -- we were told to just tell them you are going on the DCL cruise the following day and they give you a whole packet that tells you exactly what to do abt your luggage, when to come down for the buses, etc.

I'm sleepy. Everyone, rest well, will check in manana. Ciao! W.

ps - Mommasita, congrats on the star QB. And thanks for sharing his story. It is good for the soul to hear of triumphs over adversity. Very special! :flower1:

Hi everyone, just stopping in really quick.

Took me a while to catch up on all the posts.

Hi Sherrie!!! We miss you!!!

Welcome to all our newcomers!!!

26 MORE DAYS TO GO!!!!!!!

Emily

Wendy, I use the scopalamine patches too. My husband teases me about them, he
always tells me that I would be fine without them. I always tell him that it is a chance I'm not willing to take! I picked mine up last week. I haven't actually started "packing" yet but I have everything gathered and I have a list of things I need to find. I can't believe it is almost here!! -Donna
