We used Shoretrips.com becuase we got an e-mail back from the owner tha tthey were booked but when I went to Shoretrip's website they said there was room so I didn't know what to do so I booked with them.

Lorra - We tried to book Lord Sheffield through shoretrips also. They took my credit card info and said they'd be sending voucher things. A few days later I was told there was no room left on the ship. The reason i'm letting you know this is to be certain that they have added a 3rd ship and they're not trying to put you on the 2nd ship. I'd hate for you to be disappointed again.

The mail carrier just dropped off my dress for formal night... I've tried it on and it is very comfortable. Nothing so dressy that I can't wear it again. In fact, if I find the right pair of shoes, I might even wear it tomorrow night when we go to see Wicked in San Francisco...

Hmm, I wonder if I have time to go shopping now???

Hey girls only. I just found the best thing. If you have ucky heels, there is a file called checi foot file. I have NEVER found a file that does anything and this one is amazing. Three minutes later my sscccaarrry feet look like a babies. Just thought I would pass it on.

Where do you get such a thing?????? I've never found anything that works and long since gave up. Too much running around barefoot in the Florida heat!

Christina and I are going to be pirate wenches for Pirate Night. I got an adult and a toddler costume that look almost exactly the same. You'd never know I bought them from two different sources! DNana may wear black slacks with a white top and some red thing around her waist (or not). Anyways at least black and white. I'm so excited! It'll be fun. I'm sure we'll be EXHAUSTED after all the fun.

Guess I better start thinking about what I'm going to pack. I keep procrastinating - hoping the suitcase will magically pack itself with EXACTLY what I need.

Hello all,
I've been kinda busy with a sick dog, soccer, boys going back to school and life in general. But I wanted to pop in and say Hi so you guys don't forget about me. I still haven't decided what I am going to wear for formal night. I have a dress that I can use but don't really care for the way it looks on me so I think I will see what Dillards and Famous Barr have on clearence tomorrow.
I really need to get my packing organized. It bogles my mind to think about packing for all of us but the cruise is fast approaching. I can't wait!

Tammy....No, Dillards is not on 75% yet. They did have one rackof formals at 75 but that's it. Foleys (mayco.) however is 75% off on clothes and 66% off on shoes...and they had cute ones!
The foot file is http://www.cachebeautysupply.com/files.htm#checi scroll down and it is the 14.99 one. I'm telling you, ever other file I have ever used has been worthless and this one is great. I have the worst heels I have ever seen (usually shave them) Try it. I hope it works for you as well. You might be able to find it cheaper. I get them at State (wholesale beauty supply) and they are $9 wholesale. Worth every penny.
Lorra, what did you decide to do? I know they were trying to add another boat and I am glad they did....did you figure it out? It's never easy, is it!

Hello All!

Welcome newbies!

Stay off the board for a couple days and it is catch up time! Not much new with us. DD is teething her molars, which is getting me ready for the next one, as she keeps waking up in the night

I just got my passporter this weekend. It is informative and I look forward to using it soon!

DH & I both drive Hyundi Santa Fees (I totalled my Saturn when it was time for DH to get a new car, so we got them to give us a deal on two.)
DD has a walker in the form of a car, but she really doesn't drive it...just lets us push her in it.

I am not close to packing or even knowing what clothes will fit by the time the cruise is here, but mentally I am so ready to be sailing off into the wild blue yonder!

I don't know how formal I will go for formal night. I have a black dress with some beads that might still work. DH is not planning on packing anything very dressy. We'll see.

I started packing ds's suitcase and some of the misc suff that I know I will not need. A little early I know but I'm tired of having my spare bedroom look like a storm hit! I was hoping docs would come today but no luck! I did get my air tickets though. There's always tomorrow!-Donna

Hey there, Sherrie! Good to hear from you! Congrats on DS!!!!

Sounds like everyone is buzzing with activity! We sure are getting close!!!

Well, I had another interview with a much smaller firm last week. I should hear back from them by mid-week. It's really amazing the differences in the ways that different places go about hiring people. Some people make you jump through fiery hoops and then make you walk a straight line on your hands (only to turn you down) , and others have you come in for a 30 minute casual interview, and that's it...Oh well. I'm learning. right?

Anyway, we're getting SO excited! Haven't started packing yet, but this weekend my dress will be finished (YAYYY!!) and I will root through the boxes in the basement to find our snorkeling gear and our water shoes...*sigh* That should be fun!

Jen...your foot file- Sounds great! I've been using one of those metal ones...(It looks like a cheese grater on a plastic handle ) But it works well for me. It's been the only thing that has worked for me. But maybe I'll try that thing.

I'm so excited about the repo cruise!! Been doing my best to look in on that thread...just the idea that our ship is on its way back to Canaveral is really exciting!!!

Anyway, I'll post back later in the week.

Hi, I'm getting nervous about this excursion. I just e-mailed the site directly and asked if there was any room on the Sept. 20th excursion and if there isn't I wonder what is going on. I also will cancel through shoretrips and go directly with the excursion because they are cheaper then shoretrips is. I will save about $60.00 if I go with them directly. I used my mom's name and her e-mail to try to book directly so the owner doesn't get mad but $60.00 is $60.00. Do you think I'm doing the right thing. How will they know you guys are the ones that booked the excursion, did they give you a reservation no. to print out or what?

Just a quick post to let you all know that Kauffman's are now taking 80% off all summer merchandise!! Went there today (actually 2 of them), opened a Kaffman's charge, got an extra 10% off plus there will be another 15% deducted from my statement! Got 3 big shopping bags of stuff, probably $400-$500 worth for way less than $100.!! That really made my day!! I love a bargain!

So...I know know where my mom (sillymemaw) was last night when I was trying to call her...Kauffmann's! When I could not get her to answer the phone...I told DH that she was probably out shopping AGAIN!

I got DS (1) pirate costume in the mail yesterday. Still waiting on the other. Also received a few Priate accessories I ordered for myself, DH and DS (15) to wear for Pirate Night. DH has a pirate hat with long hair...if you have not seen his picture yet...he is bald and the hat is hillairous! He was running around trying to scare the kids...what a goof!

I was working on our pillowcases again last night...I am so not an artist!!!!! We also had to go to the dreaded grocery store last night! I HATE grocery shopping!

Gotta get some work done!

Good morning all! Ok so one less day 'til we cruise than yesterday, but it's still taking too long!

I tried to look at the video of the Magic leaving port the other day and my computer gives me an error message. Oh well, guess i'll have to wait for the real deal!

Well, i've got to go exercise! Hey for anyone interested in knowing the South Beach diet really works! I've seen a few posts on the board about dieting and thought i'd pass that along.

Just an FYI.. I did decide to go full time, I'm finishing out this week with the temp service & start full time on Monday. What's a girl to do? They offer me a great job, great bennifits.. I'd be stupid to pass it up!!

Now all I have to do is wait for the cruise!! Speaking of that... I've been wearing my dresses for the cruise to work! Kinda nice I had bought them... being at home for 14 years you don't get much of a "nice clothes" closet!!

KSUMom Wow, big news...where are your little ones going? You probably have it figured out with working temp jobs but that would be my biggest problem....well my biggest problem is that I don't want to work! Second biggest problem, even with a degree I am unskilled labor...thank goodness! See reason number one! Anyway, sounds like you want this so way to go They have no problem with you leaving for a weeK+ Sounds like they aren't going to let someone good get away! Great!

Trisha How many packs of cards are you taking (think Nerts...I know you are) DO you think four each, that way they will be different and we will have extra in case either the kids or some really cool adults want to play.
Bought two bathing suits yesterday and they actually look good (read...relative, as good as is possible when you are working with what I am working with) Also bought an elacticated skirt...for as anyone who has cruised before knows, the sea air makes EVERYTHING (not attatched to you) shrink...including things in your closet at home!
Tracy Good job on the South beach! I really need to get busy otherwise I am going to have to use my behind as carryon!
Heading off for a bike ride in a few minutes. Haven't ridden a bike and forever....let's just hope the saying is true!

You mentioned packing cards...playing cards? DH is worried about being bored! I can't imagine getting bored...at home or on vacation! He was pretty bummed when he found out there was not a casino onboard! I was thinking of having him bring along his playing cards and poker chips. Are there any others that would be interested in starting up a poker game or two (I don't play...but DS (15) loves to)

I'm sure he won't be bored. I think my husband might play. He doesn't play in any games at home but we (soooo pathetically) watch poker on TV and he plays in Vegas, sparingly (at the cheap tables). Can't speak for him but I am sure he can get up a game. Does he play basketball. I know my husband loves playing hoops on the ship. DO I sound hip using hoops in a sentence
