Sept 17 2005 Magic - am i alone on the ship?

Ellen J,
Stop lurking and let us get to know you. We are excited you are joining us. Send me some infor and I will put you on our website. You can look at it and see what you want to send. Also if you send me your e-mail I can send you a list of everyone with pics mjcrouch@4dv.net
As people who have just joined will tell you (hopefully) we are a real easy group to jump into. We love new blood ;) :rotfl2: Who are you traveling with? What are the ages of your kids (assuming you have any)...tell us all!

Thanks for the warm welcome. Our group consists of me & DH & DD (12).
Also, our very close friends (might as well be family) who are celebrating their anniversary, their children, grandchildren and cousins. 8 adults and 5 kids (ages 1,3,5,9 & 11)
They all booked last minute using the FL Resident fare. I, unfortunately did not qualify so I used DVC points to pay for the cruise (we did this 3 years ago on the western Halloween cruise). Its not the best way to use points but it works for us.
You all sound like a fun group. At this point I really can't commit to any activities as we are really just working out the trip details with our friends.
We are flying in Friday night and staying at the Hyatt at MCO. We have rented a car thru Avis (really cheap) to take us to the port on Sat. We are staying over the Sat night we return in Daytona and flying back home Sun afternoon. Quick stop to say hi to my husband's brother and his family.

Thats all I can think of for now.....
Ellen

I wish I could find someone who has stayed in 7616 before. Last time we were on six.
I liked it so I'm sure I will be happy anywhere...just let the fun begin!! I still do not have a formal dress so maybe the buffet is still an option. Just kidding, I have to find a dress, DH and DS are renting a tux so I have to find a dress somewhere. I don't want much, just inexpensive, nice and something that will hide all the fluffiness!!
I am finally finished shopping for DS. Between cruise clothes and school clothes, I was beginning to think we'd never finish for him. I have bought a few things for DH but I will wait and let him finish his shopping. I am going to try Steinmart tomorrow. I tried to find a sitter but no luck so I guess my son will have to endure another day of shopping!! It is funny how he doesn't seem to get as tired when we shop for him as he does when we shop for me!! Hmm... I would love it if our documents show up!!
DS would make enough door signs to wallpaper our room if I didn't stop him. He has enjoyed the door sign making! We will have to take a walk and see everyone's door decorations. -Donna

Hi I am going to wear a long dress. Great updates on the website, Jen. I thought I was one of the only ones to get late seating but it looks like alot of us did. I have to go to a farewell party tomorrow, or today rather, for my cousin. He is going over to Iraq. He just became a doctorand he practices at Walter Reed Hospital in Washington D.C. They just had twin boys last year and now just had a baby girl a month ago, they also have a fourteen year old also. I really don't know how his wife is going to get through this. I am very close to my cousin and I'm very worked up about him going over there. I am grateful to everyone that serves for our country but I'm scared for all of them also. Boy I don't know how these families do it, they really need to be thanked for what they go through. So it will be a sad day for me because I will need to say goodbye to him tomorrow because he leaves next week.
So on a better note, people are starting to get their docs, yippy! :Pinkbounc Rambling again, good night!

Lorra

The good the bad and the ugly here.
Good- it is the weekend & our anniversary.

Bad-Brady got stung by a wasp, had a allergic reaction. Had to go to the doctor, ended up taking a injection to relieve the swelling. His hand and forearm are swollen still.
This puts the ky-bosh on the anniversary plans. Not a big deal though as long as he gets better. :wizard:

Ugly-I'll be wearing a full length gown, with a strand of pearls. :rotfl: :rotfl2: Just kidding, I am 100% manly man.

I can feel the excitement coming through this computer monitor. Only a mere 28 days and ba-da-bing- :boat:

Cars here; Me-Chevy S-10.-Pewter. 27 miles to the gallon, yeah baby!!!! :moped: Gas is $2.69 here for the cheap grade. $2.89 for premium.
DW-Pontiac Montana-Blue her favorite color.
Angela was updating Brady's baby book this week and on the day he was born, gas was at a all time high of $1.45 a gallon. I would be happy with a 1.45 today.

Welcome aboard Ellen.

Hope everyone else is well. As always, I'll try and keep up with ya'll this weekend.

BRAD

Donna... wow that the guys are renting tuxes! I haven't seen my husband in one since we got married, and I've only seen him in his "mess dress" once. I don't think it even fits any more... it's the one he got 16 years ago when he joined the AF. I saw several military men wearing their mess dress on our last cruise, but my husband said he wouldn't want to wear his, even if it fit.

Brad, you had me all excited at the thought of you in a formal. Darn! :rotfl:

Lorra, sorry to hear about your cousin.. I do feel for his wife and kids. Those of us who've been there can relate.

Welcome to the group, Ellen!

Karen

Karen,
I like your countdown with dyas on it instead of months. Does everyone's turn into days after 1 month?

Jenny,
I hope you are doing all right with grandmother, I was thinking of you today. It would have been ten years today that my grandmother passed. I still miss her today. I'm sending you a hug to help you through it.

So did anyone get their dos yet? I hope I'm not the last, I always get nervous when I see people on Dis get theirs for the same cruise that I'm on and I didn't get them yet. I think I was last to get them on the last cruise. Well, I hope my mom's birth certificate comes in soon. Well. talk later!

Lorra

Have not gotten our docs yet. I am very jealous of those who did. I am also wearing a floor length gown for formal night. One for semi formal too. DH and DS will wear a tux. I figured it's the last time for a long time that we will all dress up like this. So we are going all the way.

Anyone using Dana from Cruiseplanners? Just wondering when she gets her docs out????? I think I am going to try for an upgrade at port. I will pay for it if they have availability and will allow it. I hope I get some pixie dust my way that day :wizard: :wizard:

Gotta run, DD woke up with a swollen upper back :confused3 and is crying that it hurts. I have had a warm moist cloth on it and gave her some motrin so hopefully she will feel better soon. She was to have a Daddy's day today at a water slide park with other dads and children from our church. I don't think they will make it. I think DH is more disappointed than her.

Take care all. The Magic is on it's way home starting today. Bring her home safely so we can board and have a blast on 9/17. WOW I can't wait. :cheer2: :cool1:

Lets get going :moped:

Take CARE

Ellen, You don't have to come to any meets to participate in the precruise plainning fun :cool1: :cool1: Jump in as often as you like. I know traveling with a large group can be a blast but also time consuming.)
Donna, Don't you LOVE Stienmart. I went the other day and got some outfits and a skirt on clearance that look just Vavavava on me. I love them. I am saving them for the cruise. I don't want to wear them before hand because then I would have to wash them and there is no telling if they would fit after that :earseek: :earseek: :earseek: Anyway, piont is I LOVE STEINMART!
Lorra, So sorry about your cousin. I, too, don't know how the families of our brave servicemen and women do it. Day after day. We all apprecitate them so much and also their families. What a sacrifice! :love2:
Sherrie, Still thinking of you. Don't know if you still invest the time to reading this post but you are thought of :wave2: Hope that things are better for you and your family.
Karen, Sorry about Skylar! I hope it is nothing! I am imagining you sitting their with a sick, crying, swolen child and saying "just a second honey, I know you are hurting but I have to post!" I KNOW THAT IS NOT THE WAY IT HAPPENED! Just a funny visual! I hope she feels better soon. Do you think she could have been bitten by a spider in the middle of the night!
Brad, Scary!!! Mostly because ...is he going to have to carry an epipen in case he gets stung again? What did you decide to do for your wife? Have a happy anniversary no matter what. The dress thing was a hoot :rotfl2: We know you are all manly man though.
Where are the rest of our manly men? Haven't heard from you all in a while. Mark, Paul, John..... :wave2: and of course Steve, who is good at dropping in
Tell me any corrections or additions to the new page. Sorry Susan, it is always you somehow that I screw up on! :worship: Remember, click on the painted pic. And don't forget the kids brief descriptions....just think if I am doing the page, the least you can do is send in a 5 word description :rotfl2: :rotfl2: I'll use GUILT! :teeth:
Jenny, How are you and Grandmother?

Jen... if you want to add our excursions we are as follows:

St. Maarten - Lord Sheffield (2)
St. Thomas - Snuba @ Coral World
Castaway - Parasailing & Banana Boat Rides

Susan, Just keep babying me along ;) I will get there! :rotfl2: Maybe! What a dork I am! Is that for Lisa and your mom too? Who is in what room (or do you know yet?)?
Some answers to questions.....
The only way I know to print it out is by printing the whole screen (CNTRL/Print Screen) but all the information is on the master list.
About switching St Thomas and St Maarten...would have been a good idea but it is a ton of work because the infor is in rows not columns (of course) so we just need to fake it ;) .

Ok.. now for Kido info....

Courtney (13) - Loves Anime or any Japanese cartoons, Harry Potter, Lord of The Rings, was into Pokemon (not sure if she still is). She is into online games like Runescape. Chats lots on MSN messenger. Loves to read. Not a real people person. 8th grade.

Kiley (11) - Sweet, kind, gentle. Loves to get her hair & nails done. Watches some anime with her sister. Total "Friends" fan - owns all of the DVD collections up to now. Started watching Little House on the Prarie DVD sets, also loves "Monk". She's a people person and loves to be around people. Pretty much total opposite of her sister! 6th grade.

Nathan (6) - Played T-ball for the first time this past year & loves it. Will be starting soccer this fall. Likes to watch baseball on tv as well as anime with his big sister. Plays Runescape online, loves computer games. Likes pretend fighting with his brother & real fighting with his sisters! 1st grade.

Joshua (3) - Shy, quiet & follows his brother around. Likes computer games, watching Nick Jr. and any anime shows he can get in with his big sis. Likes swards, bows & arrows - basically all boy things. Josh is our little mouse who gets into any & all snack food he can find around the house if it's left out! Starting pre-school in Sept.

All 4 love to jump on the trampoline & swim (except Josh isn't much of a fish).

I'm sure I'm forgetting lots but that's all I can think of for now!!

YOU ARE NOT A DORK!! The dork would be any fool who'd dare give you a hard time for all the hard work you've put into this whole web page!! :teeth:

We're all doing the St. Maarten pirate thing pirate: and then in St. Thomas DH, ME, DSis, DBIL & Kiley will be doing the Snuba... everyone else will be doing Coral World. Castaway Cay - Lisa, Me, Dave, Jim, Michael, Courtney & Kiley will be doing banana boat rides at 1:30 & 2:00 and Lisa, Jim, Me & Michael will be doing the parasailing @ 11:30. Rooms are:
2620- Me
2624 - Mom (Penny)
2622 - Lisa

Thanks for all the hard work!!

Just think Brad and my husband Bo will make a smashing couple in their formals, don't you think? Mine prefers chiffon so you will not compete too much with the look you are going for. The thought of it..........don't know whether to :rotfl2: or :crazy2:!

Missy

hi again,
4 pages to catch up on again...

Jen 47.5 degrees is very hot - i'm thinking 120+ your speak...

We drive a Volvo XC90 SUV (silver)
only need one car as DH gets picked up and dropped off by company for work.
Nick has a bright green ride on
Lilly has a Maclarens Techno XT

i will be wearing a long black dress for formal and cocktail one for semi (if they both fit in the suitcases) i do have a fantastic red silk cheong sum (chinese dress) however at the moment parts of me would not squeeze into it and those parts that would may not enjoy it :rotfl2:

everything you have all described for formal night sounds great but i have to say i am looking forward to seeing Missy's DH the most...

a line for the kids:
Nick is almost 3. love to run jump and play. loves trucks, cars, planes, boats and space shuttles. his favourite movies include The Incredibles, Monsters Inc and Toy Story 1 & 2. he likes to draw and likes books.

Lilly will be six months when we cruise. She loves people, cuddles and her brother. She is trying to learn to crawl. she has just started on food and loves it all so far.

Ellen and co welcome.

Brad hope you had a good annicersary regardless

i'm sure there is much more that i should say but it is time for bed so once again

night night all and sweet dreams

:flower: Jen, just viewed the website again. I just love to look, listen & learn all about all you wonderful people & the kid's club page is just terrific (just like the rest of it!!) It just keeps getting better & better!! :flower:
No time now to even try to catch up with all your posts. You guys must be on some kind of uppers to have time to do what you say you do & still have time to post so much on here. I really do enjoy reading them when I have time!! Listen to me, have time? Sounds like I must have a bunch a kids to care for 24/7 & a full-time job!! No, not me! I've done my time, now is my time for me & hubby to do the things "we" want to do!! Although I do work at my own cleaning business, but I can kinda' work my own hours & take off when I want (of course with no pay!!)
Well, hope you all are enjoying your week-end & getting ready for the big day-sailing of the Majic!!!!   :wave2: :grouphug:
Penny

Oh & Jen, by the way KSUMOM is from Manhattan, KS, not Columbus, OH & we won't be traveling together, just meeting in Orlando! (The website!) I shouldn't be saying anything about corrections, though, you have worked soooo hard on it. Again, terrific job!

Hi I just got home from our party, I'm going down tomorrow to say goodbye to my cousin because I was starting to break down tonight so my aunt told me to come down tomorrow to talk to him. Did anyone else get their docs? Well, my son told me that shoretrips.com tried to call me today, I wonder what they want. They are the ones that I booked Lord through right before I was emailed from Lord directly that they were booked so maybe they did get another boat that they are calling me instead of turning me down on the e-mail. Please cross your fingers for me! Well talk to everyone later.

Lorra

Hooray for the weekend!!! -- I was kind or dumb enough to allow half of my customer service department go on vacation during the week (last week before school starts) so I got to work (3) 14 hour days and the president of the company resigns unexpectedly with the owners in Brazil on vacation. What a horrible week!!!

Now to the cruise stuff, I need to rent my tux and get limo transportation set up to take us to and from port. I need to get one of Hyatt rooms changed to my DAIL (Dear Aunt in Law) since she will be arriving 8 hours before us.

My wife bought the girls new flip flops for the cruise and my DD(10) got new contacts this weekend. My wife bought a over the door shoe rack from linen-n-things made of canvas for $9.99. She heard me tell talk about this idea from the disboards but she did not get the concept of getting a plastic throwaway one.

Cars:
2003 Honda Oddysey Mini-van
2003 Jeep Liberty

Kathleen (DD 10) is very thoughtful & kind (like her dad) and loves to read and knit. She will be in the 5th grade and plays basketball for the school team (her team won the first game of year today 19-14). Katie sings in the choir and will sing kaoroke on the cruise (much braver than mom or dad) and she plays the clarinet in the band. She is into all things Disney (like her mom) and gets on the computer often for Evergirl and Neopets and SIMS computer game. She was a great first child that tricked us into having another one.

Kelly (5) is very dramatic & funny. She is turning 6 on September 21st during our cruise and starts the 1st Grade next week. She loves the Disney princesses and can't wait to see the cruise shows. Kelly is a strong independent girl and her hobby is terrorizing her big sister and her favorite food is ice cream.

Hi all!

Well, tonight was leading music for Emmaus. It was successful. It was a busy day. Had class (with a final, but we got to watch "The Breakfast Club" as part of the final - gotta love that! :)), went grocery-ing, went to Walmart, came home, cleaned the house (and I mean clean - even Pledged the wood furniture!), made dinner, and went to the Emmaus event for 3 hours. Good times, but a long day!

No kids for the kids page. Unless you want to know about Oliver...

Oliver (2) is a boisterous, fun-loving, hairy creature who loves to stand on his hind legs and paw at your thighs when you walk in the door. His language skills are increasing; he now knows "potty", "bedroom", "kitchen", "outside", and "treatie." He wags his tail constantly when someone he loves - or just thinks might pay attention to him - walks in the door.

Not much else to report. Oh! We're wearing formal dresses for formal night - full length, one is my old maid-of-honor dress that DSis is borrowing, and the other is a funky dress that I bought for a friend's madrigal-themed birthday party a couple of years ago.

I'm watching the bringing the magic home thread. Did the ship get wireless internet?

Talk to you soon!

OHHHHHHHHHHHH! I almost forgot the big door magnet news! I found the Avery brand door magnets at Walmart today, and I bought them and they work GREAT! No smears here. Now just waiting on the refund from the other company.
