Sept 17 2005 Magic - am i alone on the ship?

Tammy, Good luck with the weekend!!! Sounds fun but stressful to pull off. Tammy(cmctammyg), I will send you the list. I only send it when someone asks for it. Sorry if you asked for it already, I probably sent it to the other Tammy. I'll try to be good> :goodvibes

Have a great weekend all. May our vibes keep Dennis out to sea (but away from ships). Will check in to see what everyone's up to.

Hi everyone,

Sorry I've been MIA this week. I've got to go back and collect who wants door signs - Trish, Michelle, Wendy, Jen, Brad (who wants the pic emailed to him, and this can be done no problem), and I think that's everyone so far.

Emily, (and everyone else) there's absolutely no pressure to show off your cabin for the tour! We'd love to have as many people along as possible, but that doesn't mean you need to show your cabin.

I'm making reminder sheets for all the meets on board. When is the new sweetsue suite party scheduled for?

Not much else is new. Just wanted to pop in and say hi. Brad, if you PM me your email address, I'll put your names on the sign and email it to you. I'll need to know what info you want on it - see post 1071 (I dont even need to look back at that anymore! :) )

Okay, night all!

Could someone re-post the meeting times? I've hit & miss on when they are... It's hard to keep up with you all!!

Thanks!!
:cool1:

Does anyone know if there are any type of dance lessons on board the ship? I read on the big board something about salsa lessons... does anyone know??

Thanks!
Susan from KS

Susan, our first meet is at 3pm on Saturday at Mickey's pool. It's not very big, so we should be able to recognize each other by the green yarn on our wrists and our pictures in Jen's album! I'm not sure we're final on any other meets yet. I don't know abt dance lessons, but I suggest checking out the site with Navigators (Castaway Club dot com) and seeing if they mention lessons. I certainly wouldn't be surprised, but I didn't notice b/c I'm what you might call rhythm-less, if you were being kind.

Boy-oh, boy is it getting close! I was at a girlfriends house today at her pool and she said that she and her brothers and sisters (there are 5 total) are considering a whole family Disney cruise for her 40th b-day next year and she said she told them, I have a friend who loves the Disney cruise, so I'll be swamping her with info. How exciting. Then several of us got to talking abt how it would be fun to do a mother/child cruise -- getting the best of a girls trip along with the fun of kiddos. I'm up for it! I need work to give me more vacation time. And a raise. :earsboy: Cheers! W.

Tonight hug all your family members for me..and give them an extra I LOVE YOU...
:grouphug: to each and everyone of you special people...

LOVE YOU ALL SHERRIE

Sherrie, I am sooo sorry not be be able to meet you this Sept and that you won't be going on the cruise. Your absence will be felt. That being said. I am glad this is no longer hanging out over your head and the decision is made. I, also, understand that you have to do what is best for your family. Keep checking in (you are forever a part of this group) if it is not to painful or at least keep our e-mails and give us a hey/hello and tell us in the future how great everything is. It will be again, you know! We will continue to include you and your family in our thoughts and prayers.

Just back from Steamboat. What a great weekend. The resort we stayed at overlooked the park where the balloon ascention took place ever morning. What a site. We went up to Strawberry Park Hot Springs which are beautiful. There are several natural (but nice) pools HOT!, hot and Freezing river water (Which you can't believe is still in a liquid form. You feel your organs starting to shut down :earseek: , but when you reach the other side of the river there is a hot waterfall into the cold river with a nice little perch for you! Best spot there! We also went to a rodeo. Since I am allergic to EVERYTHING at a rodeo (including the announcer and clown) I don't know what I was thinking.... Today, my ribs are sore from struggling to get air last night. Someday, I will remember. Anyway, great trip!!! Loved it.

Where is everyone this weekend? Fun stuff going on?

Jenny, Why don't you e-mail mine too. Seems easier for you. mjcrouch@4dv.net I will send you a check (include your address).

Wendy, Did we decide on the string around the wrist (works for me). Someone pick a specific spot on that deck. It's been 4 years since I have been on her.

Sherrie...so sad your not going to make it :sad2: but understand you have to do what's best for your family. Here's pixie dust to you for all to go well in the future and next trip your on board :wizard: :wizard: Pop in and say hello often please..love hearing from you :goodvibes

Jenny not sure if you got my pm :confused3 because it came back to me kind of weird..... :confused3 just let me know

Well hope everyone had a good weekend and we're all geared up for another workweek :badpc: NOT!!

Seems like some weeks go by faster than others... :hourglass I fear this one will fly by counting me down to Saturday :rotfl: hope I can pull this thing off

All take Care

Hello-
Hope you all had a good weekend. We spent Saturday at some friends for their daughter's b-day. She had a Fear Factor b-day party, it was quite interesting. Today was church and a little shopping. Steve just took the boys fishing so I have the house to myself for a couple of hours and it is really nice. I don't get the house to myself very often. It looks like we are finally going to get some more rain thanks to Dennis the Menace. It is expected to start tomorrow and not let up until sometime Thursday. It is nice to get the rain but not at the expense of what he's doing to the Gulf coast. I just hope we don't get flooded too much.

Sherrie- I am so disappointed that I won't get to meet you but as Jen eluded to, everything happens for a reasons and I guess this just wasn't the time. I still look forward to hearing from you as we await our upcoming cruise.

Jen- Glad you had a great weekend in Steamboat. It sounds like it was really fun.

I hope all of us from Florida are making it through Dennis safe and sound. Let us know how you fared.

Howdy all!
Not much happening here, which is a good thing. We too are waiting on some much needed rain. Pretty much just lazed around this weekend. Spent some time in the pool. Had a guys day out yesterday (DS & I), went to the park, swam, caught crawdads in the creek. Ya' know guy stuff.
I am getting settled in the new position. So I will probably be around to pump some testosterone into this board more often, hope so anyway.

Sherrie-I am at a loss for words, sorry to hear the news. All things happen for a reason. We may meet on the next Flip Floppin' Castaways Cruise. :grouphug:

Jenny- I am going to pm my info after I get done typing this out. I appreciate you doing this for us!!

Jen- most glad to hear that you had a good time on your getaway. When do expect to get the stuff you ordered off the site? I'm pondering my purchase. Probably shirts for everyone. Yes, even my DW. :rotfl2:

Trish- Have you been to Holiday World yet this year? I remember you mentioning it, but am to lazy to go back and look. We are setup to go Aug. 5 & 6, staying at Camp Rudolph. I keep hearing great things about the new additions to the water park.

Missy- again, thanks on the tip about Southwest.
My aunt is going to pick us up at the airport and give us a place to stay Friday, & cart us to the port Saturday. So this has worked out big for us too!!

Hope everyone had a great weekend. Talk to ya'll later.

BRAD

Hey everyone!

Did everyone have a good weekend?

Sherrie, I'm so sorry to hear that you won't get to join us after all. I was really looking forward to meeting you, along with everyone else. Hopefully maybe you could join Missy & me on the Double Scoop Castaway Cay cruise same time next year. I think we're going anyway. Keep in touch with us, you are still a part of this group and I'll be sure to take detailed notes for you. :grouphug: and :wizard: to you and your family.

Jen, did you get my PM? Just checking since I won't be able to check my email until I get to work tomorrow.

Hope everyone is surviving Dennis the Menace. Rains are starting to come in now, so looks like we're in for a wet evening.

Later everyone,
Emily

Sorry to hear you're not going to make it Sherrie! Maybe next September! I'll be going on the Labor Day cruise in 2006 probably!! :grouphug:
Hope things work out for you to go soon!!

Michelle (Noworriesmate) I had some friends from high school in this weekend and one of my girlfriends sisters lives in Dubai! Her husband is a pilot as well. They are from the states, she from North Carolina and I am unsure about her husband. Her name is Joy and I don't know their last name, they both at one point worked for US Air, I believe he retired from USAir and she was a flight attendant. I thought, what a small world if any of this sounded familiar to you. Joy is from a family of 10 children, so they know a lot of people I suppose.

We had a great weekend with very old friends, I don't think we had all been together at once for almost 20 years so there was a lot of laughing and story telling. Decided to do it again next year!

Have a great week everyone,

Missy

Sherrie - Very sad to hear you won't join us. You're hereby nominated an HONORARY member of our cruise. So - even though you won't go - you're still part of us. :wizard: to your family - hope all goes well.

This has been a rough weekend for the family. My DAunt and DM were supposed to come to visit then Dennis decided to haunt us here in Florida, so my DA stayed home with my DGF (grandfather?) since my DGM is in the hospital. So DM came be herself on Friday just to have Dennis slam us with feeder bands at 4am. We had non-stop rains and wind gusts until 6:30am and we weren't even CLOSE to Dennis. So, no sleep Friday night. Saturday my DGM takes a turn for the worse and we're now just waiting for "the day". She has pnemonia, they gave up on feeding tubes and are now giving her Morphine to "keep her comfortable". So, we hang out, watch the rain, go shopping like all good Floridians, and then as I'm cooking dinner, I notice the refrigerator isn't cold - at ALL! $300 later, the starter is fixed. Saturday night, we crash due to exhaustion and at 12:10am my DA calls - dreading "the call", we stumble towards the phone. Turns out she was calling because my Mom's house alarm went off. They didn't have electricity due to the storm and didn't know what to do. So - no sleep last night either! Now I'm off on a whirlwind travel tour expecting to here about my DGM any day. I leave early a.m. for Ft. Worth, return Wednesday, on to Nashville on Thursday, return on Sunday, early a.m. to Memphis, back on Wednesday. WHEW! Hope I can keep up with this board while I'm gone. DM is watching DD for the Ft. Worth and Memphis trips - as long as DGM is still around. It's just been really tough.

Well, guess I win the babbling award for the day. Now - on to cruise fun! Jen - have you received your shirt yet? Can we order yet?
Competition is heating up over the door signs. DB says "Oh.. we're not decorating our door", YEAH, RIGHT! Heard DSIL spent $$$ at the local store to make it just so. I think we'll need an impartial judge to decide which door is best!

DGF will end up going with us most likely - anyone know how hard it is to add a 3rd adult? He's retired Navy so sailing will be a BLAST for him.

Jenny - when do you want to have the suite tour? It does sound like 1pm Sunday is the best for everyone (I can't remember who, but someone had a problem with 2pm).

Oh and Susan (just gotta love that name!) - the schedule is something like:

Saturday 3pm - meet by Mickey :earsboy: pool - look for kamikaze 4-year old blond child using a bright yellow walker to run through the sprinkling water. That'd be DD4 (a.k.a Princess Christina) the official FFC cruise greeter. :cool1:
Sunday 1pm or 2pm or ? - Cabin tour. Meet on deck ? (Jenny - help!)
Wednesday 4pm - 6pm - Sweet Sue Suite Selebration (otherwise known as my birthday) :bday: in Cabin 8080. BYOB (munchies and company provided)

Hope everyone had a great weekend (and didn't get too wet or windy from Dennis). I'll pop in as I can over the next few weeks.

Sweet Sue

Mommasita, ditto on what all have said. But, we ARE the flip floppin castaways, so we'll catch you on the flip flop, as they say. Seriously, I'm very disappointed, but as Jen said, know it is often a relief to have a decision either way. Please keep tawking to us. We love you!

Jen, your weekend (minus the rodeo) sounds awesome! I've heard of those hot springs. You are fortunate to live where you do and have so many cool things accessible! I don't know if we decided on the green strings officially, but it seems an easy way to ID ourselves to each other that first day. So I'll be bossy and say "wear green yarn, if you want." The Mickey pool area is not too big -- why not on the side by the bar and the steps up to the slide? I am sort of figuring that DD will be itching to be in the pool by then anyway. Then again, we have each other's room numbers on Jen's list -- I could just start calling! Here yet? Here yet? Ha ha ha.

Speaking of "meets" does anyone think is possible/advisable to maybe plan an adult pool meet one day? Where we could just hang out, laugh, talk, have a cold drink, share tales of what we've done so far, etc.? Or maybe those kinds of things will happen informally... Anyway, sounds good to me.

I have a busy week -- DD's 4th b-day on Wednesday; her pool party on Thursday evening; DH's b-day on Friday; MDA Ride/motorcycle thing on Sat & Sun. And I need to run to Springfield (65 miles away) either Mon or Tues night to get DH's gift. And a big project at work. I'm exhausted already! I think I have everything I need for Thursday's party and DH isn't working that day so he can get last minute stuff. Oh -- I have to wrap her gifts, too. Tuesday night, I'm guessing.

Have a great week everyone. W.

Hi everyone,

Well, I've got Brad's, Jen's, Trisha's, Wendy's, and Michelle's door signs done. Brad and Jen, look for an email from me. Susan, I sent you an email with a link to the pic since it sounded from your PM like you just wanted it and would do it yourself...?

Tammy, I did not get a PM from you. You can PM me your info or just email me: jlbeck@zoominternet.net. Just put something about the signs in the message so I can retrieve it from my spambox.

Sherrie, I echo everyone's sentiments in that I'm disappointed you won't be able to make the cruise, but I'm glad you're doing what you need to for your family. And the money you're saving can be put towards LOTS of mini-vacations with your family.

Brad, I'm glad you'll be able to post more. Maybe your presence will help Steve come back to represent the macho-er sex. :)

Not much is new here. Got to church today and realized - we had no pianist! So, I got to lead the congregation a capella for worship. That's always tough because I just have to pick a note and start singing and then everyone joins in. Whew! Glad we don't have to do that too often! :)

Emily, what type of church do you work at? What's your hubby's name and what's he do? I don't remember reading about that before, and forgive me if I'm being nosey. :)

Well, have a good night all! Missy, what a small world to know TWO people in Dubai!

I think 1 PM would work for the cabin tour. We are actually meeting on deck 3 in the lobby atrium where we all end up first when we find our merry way in to the ship. Does that work instead of 1 for the Palo brunch-ers? The dinner is supposed to take 2 hours, and since most of the brunch ressies you guys have are between 10 and 11 on Sunday, you should be done by 1. Will that work?

I'll have the reminder signs done and ready to pass off to Sue at the first meet on board on Saturday that gives the details.
