Sept 17 2005 Magic - am i alone on the ship?

Missy- THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!! I just got a 480$ credit thanks to your heads up! I saw the update in my e-mail but didn't open it since we were already booked and I didn't think we could get a better rate than 99$ one way. I got 39$ one way by flying out of Nashville instead of St. Louis. I didn't think they would let me change the departure city but they did.
Sherrie- I am so glad the air fare deal makes the cruise so much more affordable. I can't wait til you tell us you are paid off.

I hope everyone had a good weekend. We had a good one. Spent yesterday on the lake until a huge storm blew up and drenched us all. We haven't had a drop of rain in 3 weeks and on the 4th of July we get a monsoon. Picture me and my two boys sitting in the boat in pouring down rain, lightning and thunder while Steve waited in line at the boat ramp to pull us out of the water. Then I got the boat on the trailer crooked and we had to put it back in the water again to straighten it out. But it all turned out well in the end. It wasn't the first time we have been caught on the lake in a downpour. Summer storms blow up pretty quick around here.
I am so excited about most of us getting on the Lord Sheffield. I don't remember how many they take at a time but it sounds like the Flip Floppin' Castaways are going to take over the boat. We are going to have so much fun.
Welcome to Shmora and nice to hear from you again Tammy.
Talk to you all later.

HOLY MOLY

I have to read 5 pages of posts to catch up. You all need to slow down. :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I would write more but have to much to read, see you in about two days.. :rotfl:

Hey all! Wow, it is fun to read and catch up!

Jenny, Way to go on the singing! How exciting for you grandmother. It's fun to make someone else feel special!!

Everyone, Way to go on saving money. I, on the other hand, have to keep going out back and shaking the money tree....atleast that is what my kids think. It is starting to get bare!

welcome back CMCTammyG....I remember you and I am glad you are back among us. Jenny gave you most of the scoop....Also, I have a list of everyone and as much as I know about them (I'll send yours out Jenny and Karen) so if you want one to help you keep it all straight, give me the word. Jenny, we have brunch scheduled for Sunday at 10:30 but if that time works for everyone else, do it and I will just walk aroung looking on all the doors for you r gorgoues door signs and invite myself in :teeth: (just kidding)!

I think what we have decided for get togethers is.......
Saturday at 3pm at the Mickey pool ?? (where exactly we still need to decide and is this going to cause Sue prob w/ Christina or since she can swim in the ears is it okay?)
Sunday - cabin tour at 10 or 11 set up by Jenny
Wednesday - Sweet Sue's Suite Birthday Selebration 4pm after St Thomas (byodrinks) Suite 8080

I think Jenny's idea about a reminder card for the meets is a good one. Are you going to take that on, Jenny or do you want someone else to? You already have the door signs.

Yeah! :Pinkbounc About Lord Sheffields, Karen! He confirmed everyone (Wendy, Missy, Trisha and you) to me but in the most general terms. Wendy sent off for a list from him. I think he only takes 25 max so we will pretty much have the whole boat (we have 26). Sorry to whoever had 12 (can't remember), we would love to have you, too!

Sherrie, :Pinkbounc :cheer2: That would be soooo great if it worked out you could go!!!!! After you confirm and make final payment, you will of course have to be punished for making us worry :rotfl2: :love2: I'm glad you had a great weekend!

Vail was wonderful. It is such a fun place to be for the 4th. The parade was great and the town was/is beautiful. Flowers everywhere and all done up like a swiss mountain town (or what I would imagine it to look like). I, too, love Colorado. If any of you ever want to see it, come on out! You are welcome here! On Friday we leave for Steamboat Springs...Oh what a life! :cool1:

I will get the Castaway Cay(s) thing fixed today or tomorrow. Should take to long. Right now, I sooooo need a nap! I never sleep when I am not in my own bed....except when the ocean is rocking me to sleep!!!

Sorry so long....you know me!

Oh Yeah and Welcome Shmova! Glad you found us! Jump in! We have a ball!

:wave2: Brad...How's the new job?

Jen, welcome home. Glad to hear what a great time you had.

Jenny, thanks for the link, just what I was looking for.

Sherrie, way to go. It will be so awesome that you more than likely will get to go.

SweetSue, I think we're suite neighbors. Pretty sure you're right next door. Pretty cool.

On the room tour, I'm in the same "boat" as Jen. I think our brunch is Sunday at 11.

Later everyone.
Emily

Getting closer. :hourglass

So glad everyone could save some money!!! My sister got $225 credit so as a group we saved $625. I am so surprised Southwest offers this option, I never expected that to be the case when I called this morning.

Welcome to Shmova.

Have a good day everyone.

Missy

Does everyone already know their cabin numbers??? We're in 8516.... the other end and side of the ship from SweetSue and Emily.

Karen

We are in 6056........(cat 6), also going to Sunday brunch at 11:00, what a great idea we all had for brunch huh???

Missy

Oh no no no, Jen - we definitely canNOT do the cabin tour when you're chowin' down at Palo! If you (everyone/anyone) want to come - same with Emily and Missy - we want you to be able to! So how about 2 in the afternoon?

I checked Dave's DCL Tribute site to look at Navigators from a June, 2004 Eastern cruise to see what kinds of activities are going on at that time. Here's the part of the Sunday Navigator that shows what activities were going on from around 2-3:30 (probably the longest the cabin tour would take if a bunch of people participated). http://www.dcltribute.com/navigators/east_carib/daily.htm Looks like wine tasting, a ping pong tournament, a matinee showing of the Golden Mickeys, Art of Entertaining presentation, etc. So there are definitely activities going on at that time, but I want to include as many people as possible. Planning the tour for the early afternoon would allow the people not to miss out for Palo brunch ressies, and then everyone else will just have to decide if they want to do the Disney sponsored activities (booooo.... hissssss ;) ) or the often-imitated but never duplicated, fabulous Flip Floppin' Castaways cabin tour. :Pinkbounc :bounce: :cheer2:  :cool1: :jumping1: :hyper: :dancer: :jumping3: :thewave:
So, just sound off with whether or not this time will work for everyone.

Okay, and clear something up for me. I definitely don't mind making door signs for everyone, but I wasn't sure everyone wanted one. I asked a while ago who wanted one and didn't get much response. Luckily, we've got TONS of time for everyone to let me know if they want a sign. SOOOOOO, who wants the Flip Floppin' Castaways door sign? I think if everyone would be willing to pay $2 for the sign, that would cover the cost of the ink and magnetic paper. I certainly don't mean to be a money-grubber, but making lots of color signs on magnetic paper can get a bit expensive. Here's the link to check it out: http://www.photodump.com/direct/atsjen/FFCDisney2.jpg

If you ARE interested in the FFC sign, PM me so I can start making a list of who wants the signs. I'll need to know:
1) Do you want real names or screennames on the sign?
2) The names of all the people you want on the sign.
3) Do you want where you're from on the sign? (The one posted doesn't show that because I'm not sure we're putting our home city/state on there)

Instead of mailing them to you, how about I just print them out and bring them with me and hand them out at the DIS meet? That's even more incentive to attend! :)

As far as reminders for the meets on board, Jen, I can do those because I'm not doing anything fancy - I'll just do one reminder sheet for each stateroom. So if we have three meets, each stateroom will get one master list of the DIS meets. These will be the old fashioned "paper" method - no magnets for these, so you'll need to put them in a place you'll remember and not lose! (I sound like a teacher or a mom, lol!) I'll put the location and meeting time and the contact person/stateroom # for that meet so you can give him/her a ring if you need additional info. So far, there's three events - the DIS meet for the first day, the cabin tour, and the Sweet Sue suite party on Wednesday.

I'll just start putting the reminder to PM me for a sign at the end of my posts.
Whew! Sorry this is so long. Mine always are. :confused3

What are you guys thinkin', Palo's brunch on Sunday????? That's formal night, meaning Sunday is the last day I need to watch what I eat so I can fit into my dress for formal night. I booked for Monday so I can pig out without repercussion.

We are in 2566. Deck 2, midship, starboard (right) side.

2148 here....and these cabins are all on the castaway list..... Sunday afternoon sounds fine but I will just roll with the waves...whatever works for everyone. Do we want to figure out a time to wear whatever we buy (shirts) or just watch for them whenever?
Jenny, I want door signs. I'll PM you and get your address and send you some money, honey.
And a vote...who wants Brad to go back to his booorrrriiiinnngg job, when he used to talk with us regularly!

O.K. Sunday brunch is for those of us who figure that it is too late to worry about overeating at one meal when we overeat at most meals! So I make a decision about what to bring based upon what has some stretch to it! Oh that's right ALL my clothes have some type of give these days..........ugh.

Please do not count on me for the cabin tour........you guys decide and if I can come I will, if I am asleep, I will miss it! Jen please do come by if you want and nose into my cabin. I almost broke my neck trying to get into a cat2 last year. It was occupied by some casual aquaintences we met at dinner. Couldn't see a darn thing though. I will try to make it though, I am a little nosey and would love to see them all~

As well, I have to give credit to my husband who read the email this morning from Southwest with the great deals. I usually delete without reading......he told me before he left for work to check into it and the rest is history!

We make our own magnets........the kids love it so we are good there.

Jen, you know what they say about people who make it to the top.........they forget the little people (can you see me looking :magnify:at Brad?)

Night everyone,
Missy

:wave2: Hi everyone! I just took 30 minutes catching up on all your posts just from today & yesterday!! Wow, you guys are busy little beavers!! For those who don't know yet I'm the "old lady" (mom) with Ksumom (Susan), the group of 12 who couldn't get on the Sheffield trip. :rotfl2: Susie (Susan), my daughter is pretty much taking care of most of our plans. Aren't I lucky? :cool1: I think she is making us all door signs, Jen, but thanks for the offer. She put our cabin #'s on today. The cabin tour thing sound great. Not sure if she has sent you our information or pictures. This all is sounding more & more exciting as it gets closer! My hubby & I have been on 2 cruises, but never got into anything like this group before. It's so great! And all you guys sound so nice & sweet. Can't wait to meet you all!!
Well, my dinner is sitting here getting cold, so better eat it. Catch you all later!!

Penny

Jenny- The magnets sound great and we would like one. I will PM you my infor and send you some moola. Sorry I didn't respond before, I have a hard time keeping things straight from this board.

Our cabin # is 2146 right next to Mike and Jen, ajoined actually. I hope we can make the cabin tour because I am nosey also and want to see everybody's cabins.

Hi everyone,

Not much new - how could there be after my incredibly long post last time? :)

I got my passport pic taken today. I'm sending the application on Friday, so about six weeks after that I should be all set. I know we don't need passports for the cruises until January of next year, but DSis is adopting and we need to be able to pretty much drop everything and go when she gets the call that the baby is ready to come home. We haven't gotten a referral yet, so it'll still be several months, but we want to be ready to go whenever we can.

Guess what? Yesterday I was making a detailed plan-of-attack for the parks after the cruise, and I said in passing as the excitement kept building, "Can't we PLEASE go back to Disney next year?" Of course, DSis Melissa gave me that look, cocked her head and said, "Um, no."

Well today she comes home from work and says, "Remember what you asked me yesterday?"
This struck a bit of fear in my heart, so I said, "No, what?"
"I'll let you figure it out."
"..... YOU WANNA GO BACK TO DISNEY NEXT YEAR1?!?!?!?!?"

She just smiles, and she gets online and starts planning out the trip. So, more than likely, we're going to stay in one of the All Stars over Memorial Day next year - May 25-30. We got a quote from mousearvacations and it was pretty reasonable. I'm so excited - usually she suggests these things and an hour later I've got everything planned out. How fun for us!

And as promised, here's my friendly reminder to PM me if you want the FFC door sign. See post #1071 for details on what I need.

Night all!

Forgot to mention a couple of things. First, for those of you who want the sign, you can just give me the money on the ship if you want. I know cash is pretty useless onboard, but that'll save you the stamp. Just a thought.

Jen, got your email and Trish, I'll look for your PM. :)

Second, I'm still SO BUMMED I haven't been able to book a cabana massage yet. :( I check back every couple of days and still nothing. Now even the couples massages are gone. The DCL rep I called said there will probably be some still available to book once onboard.

That being the case, I figured I could stoop to beg for the kindness of a fellow DISer for a sec. If any of you lovely FFC DISers have a cabana massage and change your mind, would you consider letting me know before cancelling so I can get your ressie? This is just part of the cruise I'd really like to experience, and I thought if anyone had one reserved and change their mind, I'd love to snag your ressie. Wendy, thanks for the offer, and I'll still gladly take yours if you guys cancel. But a couples massage might be just the thing for you two. And if wondering what DD would do while you got rubbed down, this might be strange but DSis and I could gladly entertain her for an hour for you and Jeff. No pressure to accept; just a helping hand to another FFCer!

Okay, NOW goodnight all!

Jenny, you are so sweet -- I definitely want one of your signs. Info: Wendy, Jeff and Phoebe. Joplin, Missouri. We find cash useful on the ship for room service tips. (We order cookies and warm milk for DD every night. HA! For DH and DD. He has a heck of a sweet tooth.) But, I'm happy to mail you the money too. Also, I'm thinking that DH won't want the cabana massage, but I will, so maybe you and I could do the one I have reserved. We can figure it out once on board and I promise no cancellations unless I tell you first. And thanks abt watching DD. She is a lot of fun. I think we can check her into kids' club, but if not we just may take you up on that.

Missy, you are cracking me up. Both on the eating deal and the checking out the cabins deal. I know I am psyched to see Karen's Cat. 2 & Sweet,Suite Sue's & Emily's cat. 3 rooms. And the verandahs. and once again, yay for your DH and yay for SW!

I'm sucking big time on my diet again this week. Must get busy!

Have a great day everyone!

Hey,

Anyone dressing up for Pirate Night? I'm sure we've talked about this before, but we are good at repeating ourselves. I know they give us a bandana for dinner - anyone considering wearing a costume or just the bandana? We would wear costumes if other adults were going to.

More later! :)
