Sept 14, 2013 - Western Fantasy Cruise!!!

I researched and researched and finally made our picks for what to do for our port stops.

Grand Cayman - Hated to do it but I booked the Catamaran & Snorkel the Kittiwake excursion thru the cruise line. Hate booking stuff with the cruise line. Ugh! But, I couldn't find anyone who really did the Kittiwake outside the cruise line for a reasonable cost and I didn't want to pay the premium to book a charter for just the 2 of us. Tracey wants to snorkel a shipwreck. We're going to!

Costa Maya - Nothing! Even though I was sick the last time we did this itinerary we thought stacking 3 port days all in a row wasn't the most fun. By the time they're over with you're worn out. So, no plans. We want to relax and roll on the fly. If we feel like doing something we will. If not, no commitments!

Cozumel - Booked the Manatee Experience with the Dolphin Discovery folks that operate out of Chankanaab. I fudged and told them I was staying at a local hotel when I booked. Didn't want any conflicts if I told them I was cruising with Disney...even though Disney doesn't offer the manatee thing (to my knowledge). I want to see manatees!

Castaway Cay - I'm hoping they'll have the paddleboards at the kayak rental place. I've heard a few murmers about them having a few if you go ask. I want to standup paddleboard again. Still on the fence about booking the walking & kayak tour thing. If we could skip the long walk I'd be in already. The description says 45 minute walk. I'm laaaaaaazyyyyyyyy. LOL!

And, I booked Tracey 60 minutes of golf simulator time on the 1st at-sea day. He thinks I'll hit some balls while he's there. Most likely not. It's not my thing. I get more out of watching him play. I'll play it off when we get there. He wouldn't have let me book it if he thought he would be the only one playing. I'll switch gears when we get there and it's too late to back out. I know he wants to do it, though. Just gotta trick him into not refusing because it's not my thing. :rolleyes1

I wish I could get a Couples Choice thing at the spa a bit later on formal night, like starting at 7 or so. I think the spa is the perfect place to be anti-formal! Eh, we may just enjoy the pool or hot tub in the adults area during that time. Gonna be sooooo niiiiiiiice.... :goodvibes

Welcome aboard Bruce and Linda!! We also live in NW GA.

I hope everyone is having a great week we seem to finally have a day or two without rain :)

Hello and welcome to the new members. If anyone else would like to join the fe then please let me know on here or fb.

Hi Zippyzo, I don't think we'll do FE this time. We're just getting settled and renovating from our recent move - I can hardly THINK about anything extra!

Disney honeymooners, we're in Rome - so even norther than y'all. I love that word - y'all!

Those of you who've been on the Fantasy before - what was your best source of information on the ship before you went? We're long time cruisers, but have only been on the classic ships.

Welcome aboard new folks!

We booked some simulator time too - golf for my dad and the generic sports sim for all of us. It's pretty cheap, so I'm not too worried about not liking it. Has anyone done it before?

Kelly - you'll have to tell me about the manatees. I think we're going to stick with our ruins tour in Cozumel. I love manatees. I think it would be so awesome to meet one!

Well, it looks like LindaBabe twisted my arm, (it didn't take much), have a call into our travel agent to book the DVC rate for this cruise. Never been to Costa Maya, love Chakanaab at Cozumel, will definitely do that. Love the idea of the manatee excursion, and my Mom wants to ZipLine (crazy woman, I'll stay on the ground).

Only 51 days?! Yippy Skippy!!

Could you please add us to the FE list?

Cabin 9516- Ken and Rebecca Bearden with Alex (14-boy) Max (13-boy)

Cabin 9504 -David and Judie Small

Thank you! We can't wait!!

Does anyone know if we need to sign up early for the day at the spa? It used to be around $16.00 a day and you could use the steam room and other facilities within the spa.

GOOD Morning, Happy Cruisers!

Oh, GOODie! Where is she planning to Zip? BruceE can go with her - because I'm with you - ON THE GROUND!!!! (Side note - I happen to know that her mother did a 15 line zip in Costa Rica - that girl got GAME!):worship:

IS there a "roll call" list somewhere?

SO excited.

Happy Day, all.

FE list updated. Any problems let me know. New families added to A & B

I'm wondering if you know How the other Staterooms are doing the FE, as in gifts for each person/ age or a mixed bundled larger Gift per Stateroom. :)

Update: 10.23pm - 01/27/13::
Anyone know what is the way the FE Gifts are being done. Per Stateroom or per person.!

And if anyone knows how to Upload the "Salty Sea Dogs". Cruise Image from the Link onto the Thread then could you do it. Please.

My understanding was that it would be the giver's preference. Anyone else have input?

Also, the Salty Sea Dog image is really cute! pirate:

If you want an "easy" FE , the old lady's advice is one gift per stateroom, the SAME gift for each stateroom, and flat/small/ or light weight or consumable in some fashion like glow sticks or pirate tatoos.

hands down the MOST brilliant FE gift I ever received was the flat cardboard thing that folded into a sturdy sectioned tray to carry drinks in. I have also loved mini highlighters, pens & pencils, the baggie containing a rubber band, paperclip, bandaid, safety pin etc. post its. hand beaded key chains. . .

We are doing both since it's our room and my folks' room combined. There will be a cabin gift, a gift for each adult, and 2 gifts for each child. That's the plan anyway...

Hi all

I'm not ignoring messages people have sent me or posts, it's just been a mad week and we sadly had our dog put to sleep on Friday, so haven't really felt like posting much. I will be around more this week.

Thank you. I was thinking of a Bundle of stuff that each person in the room can pick from. We are travelling from UK so don't have the luggage space for big items. I may have to buy some extra when I'm in the US. :)

Thank you Kathywood. If you or anyone knows how to Post the Salty Sea Dogs image on the Thread it would be great.

ZippyZo, I'm so sorry about your Dog, I know how Sad you must be. I have had to do this with a few of my Dogs in my Life. So Sorry for your Loss.
