As a side note- my DH has hidden my cruise documents. We were cleaning house and he found a "responsible" place to put them, apparently where I put them was not good enough.

Once I find them though- I'll update with a stateroom!

Hi Michele, thanks for the welcome! I see you're from PSU country. Watch out for my DH, because he will probably try to corner you into a discussion about the Big 10. He's a huge Michigan fan, and has already asked me if there's anyway he can get the Michigan/Notre Dame game while we're on the cruise. (Is there an emoticon for me slapping my head in disbelief?)

He's also hidden the passports. I took them out cause I was so excited that our cruise was like, only a month away, and he hid them cause he was like, "we don't need them yet, and when we do, I'll bring them back out." I don't get this at all.

Sorry the upgrade fairy has not been kind. I will try and talk to her in the meanwhile I will send some pixie dust your way!

Guess what? I went to pick up my docs at AAA today since I have been out of town for my 20 yr reunion and dealing with Fay which thank God turned out to be nothing. We got an upgrade!! I'm not telling my DH-gonna surprise him. The AAA DCL rep got it for us b/c of our Med cruise experience apparently. We had and outside cabin deck 2 now we have a verandah on deck 5.

HI everyone! My DH and I are cruising on this cruise as well. My whole side of the family is coming with us (my parents and brother/his wife)- the first time we've all vacationed together. We're very excited! It's my DH and I's third Disney cruise. I know my family won't participate in the FE exchange, but DH and I are pretty interested. What were wondering is, any good words of advice for people who live 15 minutes from Disney? We don't want to just give everyone WDW stuff, but when you live so close......

We'll be around WDW starting Sept 6th (that's when my bro/his wife come in to town) and we'll be attending MNSSHP on Sept 9th (as long as our schedules allow us to!!). Current plan is to not dress up, but I will be probably wearing a halloween themed shirt.

I was so excited to find this thread about our cruise. (Coming up soon! )

I hope we're not too late to join in the DISboards fun! I'm new to the DISboards scene -- this is my first post -- but after reading the thread I think I'm getting a handle on it, and I'd love to join in.

If it isn't closed, my family and I would really like to be a part of the FE. We are: me, DH, DD(5), and DD(2). DH and I cruised on the Magic in 1998 with his sister and their kids, and even though we had a great time then, we are REALLY looking forward to going on a Disney cruise again now that we have our own kids to bring along.

It can't come soon enough!

Since I know that some of you will be going to WDW several days prior to the cruise, when do you think the cut off for the FE exchange signup should be? Is September 1 too soon or not soon enough? I know, for instance, that cruisinmama06 will be going to WDW on 9/6, so I was making sure that those folks had enough time to get any last minute gifts. Any input is more than welcome!

We did one! We did ours at Saratoga Springs. I wore a plaid sundress and Andy was in khakis/polo shirt. We both wore flip flops- we're pretty casual people. But we got fantastic pictures!!! I'm not sure where they are at right now....but they're great.

Just saw you're from Phoenix! My DH is from Chandler! He's never lived anywhere else until he moved down here in 05.

Thanks so much for the input - We are pretty casual too, I was thinking khaki shorts and white polos for guys and white blouse for us girls and barefoot. My big worry is that we are having dinner at Whispering canyon before the photo shoot, so we may need to wear a different shirt during dinner, because I always seem to wear my dinner
How did your DH handle going from dry heat to humid heat???

My dh wants me to try and stay away from the boards for a few days, because all I seem to think about is this trip!!!! He seems to think that reading these boards is feeding my obsession for all things disney

Ok everyone, I guess the official FE cutoff date will be September 1. At that point I will attempt to compile a list with stateroom numbers. If there are any stateroom numbers that I don't have when I make the list and the person posts it later on, I'll just place something in everyone's FE once on the ship for those that may have left town and won't have internet access. Is anyone leaving town prior to let's say, 9/2 or 9/3?

On our last cruise, we met at the Promenade Lounge which is on Deck 4 at 3pm. It seems that this is the "official" DISer meetup place on all of the cruises. Some of us also went to karaoke night just to have some fun adult time and drinks. Jason and I will be cruising alone so we will definitely be partaking in some adult entertainment. If anyone wants to join us or is up for a planned DISer night, we'll be there!

The karaoke sounds like fun, however Shane and I cannot meet at 3pm. We have to meet with the wedding coordinator. Its okay if everyone else wants to meet then. We don't want to hold everyone else up from meeting.

It seems that the particular time and place that I mentioned are what are done on most cruises, which I'm guessing happen because that's before a time that activities on the cruise begin, plus most people have boarded by that time. Does anyone else have other suggestions as to the initial meet, or should we stick to what's been done before and try to do other "adult" activities during the cruise?


Maybe Smilingmouse has some suggestions since she's cruised way more than I have!

I wouldn't have a problem meeting at 2 myself because we plan on being some of the first to board and then going to lunch right after. I imagine we'll be done with lunch no later than 1 based on my last cruise. I guess it depends when others plan on arriving and rooms typically open up at 1:30, so I'm not sure if people spend that time unpacking or what. Like I said, it works for me if it does for everyone else! Like I said, I think that we should also plan on some adult activity as well so there is more than one option to meet.
