I have you two in the "maybe" column. :)

As it stands, we have 13 confirmed plus two "maybes". We need 40 to make this a DIS only catamaran beach sail out of Tortola.

White Bay... home of the Painkiller... incredible views... ahhhhh!!!

I assume you are speaking of the Soggy Dollar since I am wearing my Soggy Dollar bracelet right now as I type. LOL. If there will be time for snorkeling, then count John and I in for the trip.

Can you remind me what this tour is that you're trying to organize? Everything has just flown by.

Still trying to figure out what to do about our reservation and its lack of OBC...not sure whether to rebook with another TA that gives us OBC or stay where are.

Wow...alot of celebrations go on this trip....love it...:drinking1

We are celebrating our DD's 5th birthday the week of embarkation, and turned that in. princess: And technically, we are celebrating Curt's 39th in early October, but did not turn that in on our reservation.

We've celebrated a couple anniversaries on cruises, but we will be celebrating a half-anniversary on this one. It will be eight-and-a-half! And ironically, that falls on the day we are in St Maarten... which is where we were the day before we married! (We were on a cruise for our wedding, and married on the beach on St John at a cruise stop.) We will certainly have a Painkiller Toast on JVD the following day with the view of St John's north shore across the way!! Painkillers were our beverage for our wedding reception -- I'm the sentimental type!

It is the day of Tortola... a catamaran power sail over to Jost VanDyke for a beach day and snorkeling. Home of Soggy Dollar Bar... where the Painkiller was invented. Less than half the price of what DCL is charging, and if we get 40 paying passengers, it will be just our DIS group.

White Bay... check out this YouTube... you'll get the idea!! Kenny mentions JVD at about 1:15 into this...

Pyjama Breakfast

Mandy is organising a PJ breakfast on Sunday the 18th September (a sea day) at 10am, at Lumieres. If you would like to join in, please PM MandyGirl (Mandy).
There is no cost involved for the breakfast, and there are no set times for breakfasts on DCL, so your evening dining rotation does not affect participation in this event at all. We will be meeting outside Lumieres at approx 9.50am for a group photo prior to the breakfast.
Please note:
If you had previously PM'd hayley (the previous organiser), please re-PM Mandy so we can get an updated list of who's still interested.

The newest list:
3canadianslovedisney 5 Leanne, DH Ken, DD Morgan, DM Dorothy and DF Ted
goofieslonglostsis 1 Jacqueline
MandyGirl 4 Mandy, Curt, DD1, DD2

Thanks! Our marriage license is from the US Virgin Islands, and we were lucky to find an ordained Baptist minister to marry us from a local church there. It was just an incredible "cruise week" with our family and friends. We did not tell anyone but our maid of honor, but the "surprise" was that for our reception, we chartered a catamaran to sail along the north shore of St John and return us to St Thomas for an island tour prior to returning to the ship in port there. Because so much of St John is a national park, a catamaran can only come so close to the beach, so a dinghy went back and forth carrying us to the catamaran in groups of six. I had told my Granny a "taxi" would get us back to the ship... and she determined that was SOME taxi!! :thumbsup2 The times we have been back to St John, we have ordered another smaller replica wedding cake from the same chef, and enjoyed it on "our" beach.

These words still ring in my ears:
Having heard the vows you have just made with each other, made by the sun, sand and sea of St John, witnessed by these loved ones, by the power invested in me the by the United States Virgin Islands, I now pronounce you husband and wife.

That is very beautiful:love:

We love Topsiders too. They had a really nice Barbeque during one of the sea days last WBTA. Yum yum

I really liked the food on Castaway Cay also last year.

This year I certainly want to do more sit down breakfasts and lunches, last year we only did 1 lunch and 2 breakfasts in the table service restaurants.

SW

We enjoyed quite a few Tritons(Lummieres) breakfasts on the WBPC this last January. Only ever been once before in all our cruises but for some reason we just loved it this time. Very relaxing. They do a wonderful thick yogurty thing like a smoothy, called a Tugboat, or Morning Tugboat and it was worth it going just for that. You have to eat it with a spoon it is so thick. Every other normal smoothie you have to pay for anyway!! We got caught out one morning when we went not knowing it was Brunch, which they have on some days, and they didn't do the tugboat on the Brunch menu.

We also like the lunches there, but normally just can't face 2 big meals a day.

hi everyone!
sorry i've been awol, but only just got back from holiday last night and trying to catch up on emails and PMs and stuff.

Welcome home Karen :thumbsup2

So where is everyone's favourite place to eat onboard? I loved sitting in Lumiere's, but also really enjoyed sitting outside Topsiders for breakfast in the morning.

My favourite is Parrot Cay for dinner .. just love the Caribbean feel to the place. Lunchtime I love topsiders as I love eating outside ( and even more so when there are NO wasps !! )

Karen; welcome back!

Sarah, do you happen to know if the tour is in any way accessible? I've done multiple dolphin excursions before, but it's can sometimes be a bit difficult to find out about it's accessibility. I'm interested as it's just a convined timespace and not a daylong excursion, but didn't find any info about it on their website.

I have sent them an email. Will let you know as soon as they give me the info :thumbsup2

party:Is anyone eles celebrating anything on this cruise? I am celebrating the big 40.. Just curious..party:

Well officially this cruise is to celebrate DH's 50th birthday, which is the 31st October. I really wanted to cruise ON his birthday but he chose this cruise to celebrate his 50th. Unfortunately my own birthday falls on the WBTA, which sort of feels wrong as it is DH's birthday cruise. We also celebrate our 9th Wedding Anniversary on 12th October.

We love Topsiders too. They had a really nice Barbeque during one of the sea days last WBTA. Yum yum

That BBQ was amazing. Tony and I have never had breakfast or lunch in the main dining rooms at all, might have to remedy that this time. We have alsways gone to Topsiders.

Awww how lovely. :lovestruc

We got married in the Bahamas, on Paradise Island at Atlantis. We stayed there for two weeks, we flew out 11 members of our family for the first week and then had the second week on our own as our honeymoon. That will be 10 years ago in July!

I am a bit excited this morning :yay: ... have just booked flights to Orlando for July, we will be visiting our DD Taryn who will be working out there on the WDW International College Programme. Managed to get return direct Virgin flights £656 per perosn which by today's flight prices is reasonably cheap. (Virgin flights were more than £800 a few weeks ago). So it will be the 3 of us: me , DH and DS Danny, who will probably be bored as he is 17 and will be stuck with the old folks !!

My birthday is September 17th

Fantastic, it is lovely celebrating a special occasion on board. It was our friend's birthday on last year's WBTA and we sneaked down late at night, once we knew she would be asleep and put "Happy Birthday" banners on her door and put a card on the FE and left a badge for her that we have gotten from reception. She was so excited about it when we met her at Lumieres for a birthday brunch. It was on one of the 5 sea days too, the same as yours will be.

We hadn't really gone to Lumiere's/Triton's much on our previous cruises from breakfast but, on last year's WBTA, the four of us got into the habit, on the port days of meeting for breakfast at Lumieres. It was lovely getting breakfast a la carte and not trying to get a table at Topsiders, which is always heaving on port days, and we felt it really set you up for the day having a lovely fresh cooked breakfast for a long day off the ship and we only really had a snack for lunch at a nice cafe somewhere.

That's great, we got our flights for July for £650 and that was using our virgin airmiles discounts. It was supposed to be £850 each, but we bit the bullet as you don't get to fly with Virgin direct from Glasgow very often, so jumped at the chance of not having to fly or drive to Manchester :thumbsup2

Our DD would love to do the WDW college programme. It will be nice getting some free park tickets too :thumbsup2 it's always such a big expense

That is exciting Sarah. Can she get you CM discounts at the hotels?
