Happy birthday Marilyn!

please share where you got your dresses, ive been looking but having never cruised before im not sure whats too much or too little.

Basically everybody just wears what they want, doesn't seem to be a too much or too little for most. MHO? Check out the DCL faq on their website, they'll have info on the dresscodes, what is suggested, what is allowed and what not. Respect those and enjoy your cruise. :thumbsup2 (a little pet peeve of mine is how some basically ignore dresscodes and would show up wearing jeans in the diningroom during formal night "because we're on a holiday". I'm more of those folks that is more of the "fine and dandy, but then hit one of the many diningoptions that do not have a dresscode and prevent raining on the parades of those that do like to dress up". But as said, that's MHO.

If you want more inspiration, there is a pic-thread somewhere on the DCL-dis with many pics of what families are wearing during semi- and formal nights. Great inspiration source! :goodvibes

Here are the ebay sites we talked about a few weeks ago:

Yep, those get used by quite a few DIS-ers on here. My reaction to them was soooooooooo stereotypical Dutch :rotfl2::lmao: ; I found them to expensive. :rolleyes1 Als wasn't hitting my personal taste that great, but that is so personal. I'ld need to look up the URL's, as the 2 sellers I use have multiple stores on the multiple Ebay-sites (which can save even more money or find yourself a color that isn't available everywhere). Just sent me a PM if you want them and I'll look them up for you. As long as you don't show up in the same dress, same color and sitting next to me, I'm all for sharing great shopping tips. :)

I checked out the website...yum. We, too, restrict our diet until vacation, but these are just the type of pastry DH loves (he's a scone fanatic). I even checked Heathrow's website to see if they had a Betty's shop (no such luck). Are their products available in grocery stores or only their bakery?

Just in their cafe's and shops attached to them. Plus online. Everything is just wonderful, though on the expensive side. Service in the cafe's is impeccable and the waitresses wear the little aprons still. Our Betty's in town has a pianist who plays in the evening too.:thumbsup2

Well, maybe on our next trip to London..... or if we receive a last minute invite to the wedding.....:rotfl2:

Definitely, it's all how you accessorize it. Imagine how fabbie it will look on the second formal night when you have a tan as well :thumbsup2

I am sure a white dress would look lovely. You could always choose some bright coloured accesories if your worried it looks too bridal-ish. :goodvibes

i think you girls have talked me into it:rolleyes1 or that is what im going to tell my dh anyway:lmao: its my 40th next saturday so i think i will treat my self, was supposed to spend it in wdw but we got a surprise princess: 10 weeks ago instead :yay:

I'm sure mine is just lost in the mail. :rotfl:

BTW, Happy Birthday, Marilyn!!! Sorry I'm a little late in the day. Keep forgetting about the time difference.

That, and I spent the morning trying to figure out how you find the zeros of a polynomial equation when they're irrational (or imaginary) numbers, for my tutoring session this afternoon. (Mandy... HELP!!! :headache:) This is 10th grade math. Now I remember why I hated 10th grade math. My student's book is terrible (thank you, Georgia BOE ), and the books I have don't go into irrational number solutions. :confused3 And to think, I used to teach college Statistics!

Thank you all for your birthday greetings. I did enjoy my Fat Rascal and have managed 2 walks today too!!!

I thought I was one of the few who love to grocery shop on vacation. How we missed the whole Morrison's experience on last year's EBTA, I have no idea. That won't happen again!

We finally decided on an island tour/beach/shopping instead of this excursion, but it sounds like everyone will have a great time.

No problem! We'll hate to miss you! I think I have tagged St Maartin as shopping / whatever day (Curt thinks we are "just walking around" LOL!). And I'm like you... looking forward to the Morrison's experience!! :thumbsup2

I'm going to PM you a great online textbook :) I just finished tutoring 4th grade up at a private school, then I am booked solid 2:30-9:30 tonight. I book those marathon nights when Curt has the day off so I can fully concentrate - they wear me out! Luckily nothing above Alg II. My brain cells are getting rusty above that! (And the college math today is the equivalent of Alg II... can handle that!)

Thank you all for your birthday greetings. I did enjoy my Fat Rascal and have managed 2 walks today too!!!

You go, girl!!! :thumbsup2

The link didn't show up ...does anyone know the room number for secret verandas

Here are photos of the obstructed veranda staterooms. Originally, they were sold as Category 6, but recently they were reclassified as Category 7. However, unlike the Cat. 7 Navigators verandahs, which are more enclosed, these staterooms have the "regular" plexiglass verandah rail. The four staterooms are: 6134, 6634, 7120, 7620. The location photo below courtesy of Dave

I found the pictures on the castawayclub website. Not the Disney Cruiseline version just castawayclub dot com.

For some reason the actual link will not show now matter how I type it.

:welcome:

You're here at a good time: enough months to get to know the group without being in panic mode.

You might have lots of questions: about cruising in general and the specifics of both Disney Cruise Line (DCL) and this WBTA (Westbound Transatlantic).

Ask whatever questions you need to - someone will answer you or point you in the right direction. Almost everyone here were new to cruising or DCL when they originally joined the DISboards.

Noel (birkner) should be around soon with a Welcome Wagon that gives a nice summary of group activities.

Hi Karen

I'm from Kingston upon thames in Surrey.

I'm on page 3 so I've got a looooooong way to go to catch up :scared1:

I will def be joining in some of the activities as I'm sure (hope!) I won't be seeing much of the kids  :woohoo:

There was me thinking I'd be lying in bed watching tv and sunbathing for 2 weeks :lmao:

This is looking more energectic than Disneyworld!

nothing wrong with lying watching tv for two weeks! apart from on DCL you can lie on a sunlounger and watch tv on the giant screen all day!

Don't forget the Bahama Mama :worship:

Great to see there's some kids the same ages as mine!
